Problem related to Third Party Sales

Dear All,
The problem as per the company's requirement are as follows -
There are two different Companies X & Y having Company Codes 1000 & 1020 respectively where Company Y is a FZE ( free zone enterprise). Now Company X is selling goods to Company Y where the ship to party is customer 2 under Company Y while the payer is Company Y.In short Company X will not raise any invoice against customer 2 of company Y , it will only send an invoice to Company Y which in turn will raise an invoice immediately against it's customer 2.No GR (Goods Receipt) will take place between the two companies as it will get generated when it is received by customer 2.How to configure this with the help of Third Party Sales in SD Module ?
Please suggest.
Thanks & Regards
Priyanka Mitra

Hi Priyanka,
Please go through below step by step procedure...c it might help u to solve your problem
please let me know ,if u didnt get solution
Third party order processing is as follows:
Assume three companies X, Y and Z
X - The company,
y - The customer
Z - Vendor
When ever X gets a PO from Y to supply some goods, X has an option of either manufacturing those goods or procuring those goods.
If he is procuring the goods, there are two methods that are generally followed:
Method 1) After receiving the PO from Y, X creates a sales order against Y.
Now at the same time he also creates a PO to a vendor Z to produce the goods
Z produces the goods and supplies to X
X receives the goods from Z
Then X delivers the same goods to Y.
After that X invoices Y and Z invoices X.
Note : Here there is no direct/ Indirect relation between Z and Y.
This process is known as Trading Process. and the Material here is created with Material type HAWA.
The other method is a Third party order processing method:
Here the glaring difference is that instead of Z supplying the material to X and X in turn supplying the same material to Y.
X authorizes Z to supply the material to Y on his behalf and notify him once the delivery is complete.
Now Z supplies the material to Y and acknowledges the same to X.
Z will send a copy of delivery acknowledgement and invoice to X.
After receiving the delivery confirmation and invoice from Z, X has to verify the invoice and this process is known as invoice verification and is done in SAP through Tcode MIRO.
The next step for X is to create an invoice and submit to Y
Only after the invoice verification document is posted then only X can create an invoice for Y.
This is the business flow that is followed for third party order configuration.
There are few steps that have to be configured to enable the system to function as mentioned above.
Step1)
If you are always followwing a third party process for a material then you have to create the material using item category group BANS.
The procument type should be marked as External procurement (F) in MRP 2 view of the material master record.
if you are not always allowing third party order processing then u can create a material master record with item category group as NORM and the procurement type should be marked as ( X) meaning both types of procurment ( in house manufacturing and external procurement).
step 2)
the item category in the order should be manually changed as TAS.
For that you need to confugure the item category determination
ord type + item cat grp + usge + Hiv level = Item cat + Manual item cat
OR + NORM + + = TAN . + TAS
OR + BANS + + = TAS
Step 3)
make sure that during the item category configuration for TAS you need to mark relevnat for billing indicator as F
step 4)
The schedule line cateogry for this type should be CS.
make sure that you mark subsequent type as NB - purchase requisition in this schedule line category as this will trigger the purchase requision order immediately after the creation of the sales order and the PO to vendor is created against this purchase requiesion
Accordingly you can create documents related to 3rd party sales.
Please reward with points if it really helps you
With best regards
Abhi

    Hi
The account assignment category X has been maintained in
schedule line category CS and it is recommended by SAP
    Yes perfectly right
SAP recommends only X as account assignment category for CS
If the PR is created successfully then there is no problem with  related to SD configurations
The error message is more of an MM error
You need to check with an MM expert why that happens while creating PO from PR
I feel since this happns while saving the transaction there might be some userexit used which may be root cause
System error (error in method PO_CHECK)

  • Problem in third party sales

    HI ALL
CAN ANY ONE GIVE ON THE BRIEF INTRODUCTION ON THIRD PARTY ORDER / INDIVIDUAL PURCHASE ORDER.
    PLS GIVE  ME REPLY ASAP.......
    REGARDS
    RAO

    THIRD PARTY SCENARIO
in third-party order processing, your company does not deliver the items requested by a customer. Instead, you pass the order along to a third-party vendor who then ships the goods directly to the customer and bills you. A sales order may consist partly or wholly of third-party items. Occasionally, you may need to let a vendor deliver items you would normally deliver yourself.
    Process Flow
the processing of third-party orders is controlled via material types. Material types define whether a material is produced only internally can be ordered only from third-party vendors, or whether both are possible. For example, a material that is defined as a trading good can only be ordered from a third-party vendor. However, if you manufacture your own finished products, you may also want, from time to time, to be able to order the same type of product from other vendors.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Sales
Third-party items can be created automatically by the system, depending on how your system is set. However, you can also change a standard item to a third-party item during sales processing manually.
    Automatic third-party order processing:-
if a material is always delivered from one or more third-party vendors, you can specify in the material master that the material is a third-party item. During subsequent sales order processing, the system automatically determines the appropriate item category for a third-party item: TAS. To specify a material as a third-party item, enter BANS in the Item category group field in the Sales 2 screen of the material master record.
    Manual third-party order processing
In the case of a material that you normally deliver yourself but occasionally need to order from a third-party vendor, you can overwrite the item category during sales order processing. For a material that you normally deliver yourself, you specify the item category group NORM in the material master.
If, as an exception, you use a third-party material, change the entry TAN to TAS in the ItCa field when processing the sales document. The item is then processed as third-party item.
If address data for the ship-to party is changed in the sales order in third-party business transactions, the changed data will automatically be passed on to purchase requisition and also to the purchase order ,if one already exists. In the purchase order, you can display the address data for the ship-to party in the attributes for the item.
You can only change the address data for the ship-to party in the sales order for third-party business transactions, and not in the purchase order.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Purchasing
when you save a sales order that contains one or more third-party items, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition in Purchasing. Each third-party item in a sales order automatically generates a corresponding purchase requisition item. During creation of the requisition, the system automatically determines a vendor for each requisition item. If a sales order item has more than one schedule line, the system creates a purchase requisition item for each schedule line.
Purchase orders are created from purchase requisitions in the usual way. For more information about creating purchase orders, see the Purchasing documentation. During creation of the purchase order, the system automatically copies the delivery address of your customer from the corresponding sales order. In a sales order, you can enter purchase order texts for each third-party item. When you create the corresponding purchase order, the texts are automatically copied into the purchase order. The number of the purchase order appears in the document flow information of the sales order.
All changes made in the purchase order are automatically made in the sales order as well. For example, if the vendor confirms quantities and delivery dates different from those you request and enters them in the purchase order, the revised data is automatically copied into the sales order
you process third-party items by creating a normal sales order. In overview for the order, you can then overwrite the default item category (TAN in the standard system) with the special item category for third-party items: TAS
    Billing Third-Party Orders
If relevance for billing indicator for the item category has been set to B (relevant for order-related billing on the basis of the order quantity) in Customizing, the system includes the order in the billing due list immediately. If, however, the indicator has been set to F (relevant to order-related billing on the basis of the invoice quantity), the system does not include the order in the billing due list until an invoice from the vendor has been received and processed by the purchasing department. In the standard system, item category TAS (third-party order processing) has been given billing-relevance indicator F.
In the first case, the third-party order is considered to be completely billed only when the invoiced quantity equals the order quantity of the sales order item. In the second case, each time a vendor invoice is received, a customer invoice is created for the quantity in the vendor invoice and the order is considered to be fully invoiced until the next vendor invoice is received.
If you have activated billing-relevance indicator F for item categories in Customizing, billing can refer to the goods receipt quantity instead of the incoming invoice quantity.
You can control whether the invoice receipt quantity or the quantity of goods received is relevant for billing in Customizing for copying control for billing at item level.
FOR YOUR PROCESS Individual Purchase Orders WELL GIVE THE RIGHT SOLUTION
Individual purchase orders are used when your customer orders goods from you that are not in stock and must be ordered from one or more external vendors.
    Process Flow
During sales order entry, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition item. The purchasing department creates a purchase order based on the requisition and the vendor ships the goods directly to you (unlike third party order processing, where the vendor ships directly to your customer). You then ship the goods to your customer. While the goods are part of your inventory, you manage them as part of the sales order stock. Sales order stock consists of stock that is assigned to specific sales orders and cannot be used for other purposes.
Process Flow for 3rd Party Sales
Customize the third party sales in summary:
    Prerequisites for 3rd party sales,
    Purchasing org,
    purchasing group,
assign the Purchase org to company code
    assign Purchase org to plant,
should not maintain the stock in material, it should be trading goods,
    1. Create Vendor XK01
    2. Create Material – Material Type as "Trading Goods". Item category group as "BANS".
    3. Assign Item Category TAS to Order type that you are going to use.
    4. A sale order is created and when saved a PR is generated at the background
    5. With reference to SO a PO is created (ME21N). The company raises PO to the vendor.
    6. Vendor delivers the goods and raises bill to company. MM receives the invoice MIRO
    7. Goods receipt MIGO
    8. Goods issue
    9. The item cat TAS or Schedule line cat CS is not relevant for delivery which is evident from the config and, therefore, there is no delivery process attached in the whole process of Third party sales.

  • Problem in Partial Billing for Third Party Sales with Shipping Notification

    Hello Guys,
There is one issue related to a scenario of Third party Sales with shipping notification. Here the basic process that runs
    are : Sales order --- > PR -- > PO --> MIGO --> Billing document --> Vendor Invoice Verification.
In this specific scenario, partial billing is not happening and the billing relevance for item category "B" and in copying control data
from sales order to billing doccument, the biling quantity field is "A".
Could anyone throw some light on the configuration part so that partial invoicing can happen ??? Please make a note of the fact
that billing documents are generated after MIGO is done.
    Regards,
    Sarthak

  • Third Party Sales Order issue ! please solve my problem

    Dear all,
when I am creating third party sales order, system is going to 'Standard Order:Purchase Order Schedule' screen. So,it confirm the quantity after 1 day instead of my particular given date.can anybody tell me why it is showing this screen ? how can I overcome this problem ? Please give me suggestion .
    with regards,
      Rana

There are two lead times involved -
    1. Purchase Lead time - time reqd. by internal purchasing dept. for processing
    2. Vendor Lead Time - time reqd. by vendor to deliver.
For vendor lead time check in ME11 (vendor material info record). In the Purchasing Org Data 1 tab - check planned delivery time.
Also in Material Master - in Purchasing tab - check GR processing field. Also pls. check other fields in purchasing and MRP tabs.
Also Check - SPRO > MATERIALS MANAGEMENT > PURCHASING > PURCHASE REQUISITION > PROCESSING TIME
    Thanks

  • Third party sales related question

I am trying to analyze my client SAP system and came across a scenario like this.
    1) A 3rd party sales order is created without any subsequent documents like Purchase order etc as in a standard 3rd party flow. A new sales document type (for example ZABC(not the real names)) is configured for it and a normal item category is used in the Sales order. The schedule line category doesn't create any Purchase Requisitions and henceforth any subsequent documents. An IDOC is created though. Also the SP is a marked as a third party customer.
Why we dont have he subsequent documents generated in this case.I am not able to understand this process with business point of view.Is it that they just creat a 3rd party SO in the system for there reporting purposes or anything else.? Is this kind of situation used for any other client then please let me know the reason behind it.
    2) I also have a customized 3rd party order type  (for example Z3AB (not the real names)) which follows all the standard 3rd party sales flow. But in this case the customer is not marked as a third party relevant but the item category is ZTAS (Third Party Item) because of which we get the complete flow of a standard third party sales.
So please let me know the difference between the 2 scenarios.I was thinkin that the customer should always be marked as a third part relevant but thats not the case in the second option.
Let me know in case of any other information required.

    Hi,
    General third party sales.
two types of process we can follow.
    1. Third party scenario in which vendor sent the item to the customer and the company will bill the customer.
    2. The third party scenario where vendor send the material and the company delivery the stock to the customer and bill.
As per the your CASE1:it refer to the second process above.
created a sales order. and generated a IDOC. will hit the customer.
Documentation is need, say if the idoc has wrong picked the quantity , or if the proof of delivery should be received. then with what reference you will change are no that the order is completed.
Example : statiscal invoice will be done based on the vendor delivered material and Proof of delivery.
as the second CASE 2: the process which clearly explains what we have done .
Example : say if you have 200 materials , 100 materials will be send by vendor 1 and another 100 send by vendor 2. so this process  be clear where , what we are doing.
    thanks
    Kuntla

  • Issue in third party sale

    Dear All,
Issue is that i m doing third party sale.
Made sales order with Item Catagory TAS.Quantity 10.Linr item 10.PR created.
Then i've made PO with refrence of line item 10,quantity 5 EA.Quantity 5 remains open.
Then with the refrence of PO i've made invoice .
Then i've bill the line item 10 in sales oreder with va02.
The problem is that it selecting the quantity 10 even only 5 quantity is invoiced and 5 in PO is
    still open.
The requirement is that only envoiced quentity should be avilable for billing.
    Provide ur feedbacks.
    Sukhveer.

    Dear Sri,
Billing relevance is F, Order related billing subject to invoice quantity.
PO is created w.r. to PR but MIGO is not to be done coz its third party E1 sale and MIRO
is completed for 2 quantity ,so only 2 quantity should be avilable for billing.
                 Needs ur feedback.

  • Third Party Sales Incorrect Status Update at the order level

    Hi,
We follow a third party sales in our system
    Sales order > PR> PO> MIGO>MIRO>VF03
Howeevr, the status of the sales order is being processed.
The quantity is same, item relevance for delivery is unchecked at schedule line and item category.
Our users want the invoice to be genereated after the MIGO, so at the item category level bliing relevance is G, and at VTFA billing quantity is E.
It is working if the biling relevance is maintained as f, the status shows completed but i want this for G
Over all status is being in processed and order related billing at item level is partially invoiced.
    Please help
    Many thanks,
    Shashidhar Reddy

    Hi Santosh,
    Thanks for clearing it out.
I did not understand what do you mean when u say"MIRO" process, write now our business requires the customer invoice to be created after the MIGO is done for PO, for which we have put billing relevance as G.
The problem now is, since the relevance is G which is order related billingof deliveyr quantity, even though the invice is completd and the accoounting document is cleared the ordder status still shows "being processed"
You have already mentioned it very clearly that this can be changed it using the user exit, but i just wanted to confirm that again.
Sincere thanks for taking time out for this.
    Thank You

  • Cannot do MIGO in Third Party Sales Process with shipping notification

In the Third party sales process with Shipping notification, the item category for the material is TAS (Billing relevance=R),item category group is BANS.
Intially sales order is created, then using me21n with reference to purchase requisation purchase order is created, then in MIGO stage i used the PO No there but i get the message no item found in PO.
what adjustment have to be done in order to do MIGO

Refer following SDN thread, by that you will be able to get overview on best practices about Third Party Sales & necessary configuration you need to follow for statistical GR:
    - Third party direct shipment (II)

  • In Third party sales, Part of MM..?

1.Please send me the overall flow in Third party sales process  with Transaction codes.

    8. Goods issue
    9. The item cat TAS or Schedule line cat CS is not relevant for delivery which is evident from the config and, therefore, there is no delivery process attached in the whole process of Third party sales.

  • Ship to party and vendor relation in third party process

    Hello Experts,
I need your precious suggestions on my business requirement.
When we create the third party sales order system creates the Purchase Requisition and further PO is created through purchasing department.
Suppose in my third party sales order I have two items X & Y, and both need to deliver at two different ship to party XXX & YYY respectively. in order system determine plant 1000 for both materials based on plant determination (CMIR >> CMR >> MMR) and system generates PR.
I know while converting the PR to PO system check Source list (ME01) to determine the vendor. my requirement is I want to determine Vendor based on ship to party in sales order. suppose ship to party locations for XXX and YYY are Bangalore and Pune respectively and in both place we have different vendor. Both vendor manufacture product X & Y. so I want system should pick the vendor according to ship to party.
Is there any relation between ship to party and vendor which will work in third party processing ?
Kindly explain how I can achieve this requirement.
    Thanks,

I doubt this can't be achieved by SAP standard functionality. You may need to use user exit. Check Third party to purchase req user exit or purchase req user exit to fulfill the requirement.

  • How to raise customer invoice in case of third party sale from PS

    Dear All,
In case of third party sale from project systems module, PR is raised which is further converted to PO and once the material reaches at client place GRN is done.Based upon the GRN the actual cost is booked to the project. How should I raise the customer invoice against the materials received by the customer?
I went through the Forum and based upon the threads there, I came to know that one option is to  create sales order for the same items and do order based billings. But for this I have to enter the same materials items again in the Sales order which is nothing but duplicacy of data.
Is there any alternative to this? Or some other way by which the PO line items be copied to sales order so that I can save time while creating sales order.
    Regards,
    B P Singh

    Hi Virendra,
                       Business scenario is like this.
I have created project and activities.Have assigned materials as 3rd party sale in NWA. I have released the project.PR are getting followed by PO.On doing the GR the actual costs are getting booked on NWA.
My concern is how to bill the Items(the same material components) which are assigned to activity.
As per your input I need to do Resource Related billing. Thanks for the input. It is no longer required to assign materials in DIP to Carry out RRB.
To carry out RRB do I need to create Sales Order first ? If  No then how to do RRB? If Yes  I need to create a Sales Order with all the material components which I have assigned at activity level. So I was looking for some alternative so that SO creation becomes less tedious.

  • Capture cost of procured materials in a third party sales order scenario

    Dear Experts,
I'm developing a third party sales order solution to my company following the recommended third party scenario by SAP.
Everything is working fine from creation of sales order, automatic creation of purchase requisition, create purchase order using the purchase requisition ect...
The problem I have is the in the Sales order, the cost of the material is not getting captured correctly. The condition maintained in the sales order is VPRS and it is deriving the material cost from the material master record. Ideally it should be deriving the material cost from the invoiced value or else from the purchase order(which is the actual amount we are spending to buy the items). Deriving the cost from material master depicts an incorrect profit in the sales order.
Can someone please advice me how to derive the cost(to be shown in the sales order under VPRS condition)from the invoice or the purchase requisition and Not from the material master.
I'll be grateful if you can describe in a step by step proceedure.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Lakshmipathi
    Thanks alot for your response.
As u mentioned, at the point of sales order creation the price does gets picked up from the Material Master.
But during Billing, it does NOT get updated to reflect the purchase order price. If that happens, then its perfect.
I did a complete testing cycle and the material master price remains unchanged throught the process upto billing.
Is there any special parameter that I should maintain in VPRS condition for this to happen?
Anyway thanks again for ur reply, appreciate it alot. Let me know your views on this.
As u advise I'll post it on the sales forum as well.
    Regards,
    Randika
