Problem rendering CS4 4.2.1
I've just added Gaussian Blur to 6 stills in the timeline. When I try to Render Effects in the Work Area I get a panel saying Error Compiling Movie. Unknown Error. Premiere Pro is runnung very low on system memory. Please close your project and proceed with caution. What should I do? I deleted a lot of saved versions of the prject, and deleted a lot of unused stills, but no good.

My mac Mini has problem rendering images and video
THE PROBLEM:
My mac mini has problem rendering JPEG image. There are strips on the images. Other images such as GIF, PNG, TIFF, and BMP are displayed nicely.
The images shown in the links below illustrate the problem:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/terencewong/71481156/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/terencewong/73360989/
(Please note that this image is grabbed from my faulty Mac Mini and saved into TIFF. For uploading purpose, I converted it into JPEG on ANOTHER computer.)
For movies, AVI can be playback without problem. But when it is converted to MPEG, it looks like an untunned TV channel.
FIXES TRIED:
I did erase and install 3 to 4 times using both the install disc and my Tiger Family Pack. All ended up with strips on the JPEG images and the generated MPEG movies.
I've also tried to flash the firmware to 113-xxxxx-124 using ATI's october 2005 universal ROM update, however, the ROM Revision shown in System Profiler is still 113-xxxxx-116 no matter how many time I reboot the system.
INVESTIGATION:
Yesterday, I did some research and got to know that JPEG and MPEG are using DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) for decompression. And the ATI Radeon 9200 chip provide such a transform on hardware basis, which free the CPU from doing something else. Feel free to point out my inaccuracy.
HARDWARE SPECIFICATION:
I bought the Mac Mini in the last Februray.
The system Boot ROM version is: 4.8.9f1
Display card is ATI Radeon 9200
Chipset Model: ATY,RV280
Revision ID: 0x0001
ROM Revision: 113-xxxxx-116
A POSSIBLE CONCLUSION:
I suspect that it is this part of the chip (the DCT) that is faulty.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Many thanks!Assuming that your display is tightly connected, thus the problem is not caused by something as simple as that, the fact that a full erase and install has not removed the problem would, I think, point to this being a hardware issue, and given that everyone's mini (with the possible exception of some of the latest ones) has the same video chipset as yours, and do not suffer the problem that you appear to, it seems very likely that your mini has a fault which is in need of repair.
If you have an Apple Store nearby, I would take it there to have it checked out - at the very least they should be able to replicate your problem using an in-store display, and if not, thusly suggest it's something external to the mini and concerning your display or something very unusual in the immediate environment of the mini. If you don't have an Apple Store in reach, I'd take the system to an Apple authorized service provider since at the present time it is under warranty. -
Hello everyone:
OK now I'm having problems rendering. I have about 6m:22sec of video that I need to render. But I get this Render Error:
Insufficient disk space. Free up space with the Render Manager and Retry?
There is no files in the Render Manager Section?
What do I do. The project is on a 1 TB Western Digital Ext Hard Drive with plenty of HD space.
Any help would be great.
This is not my day
DamonThe project is on a 1 TB Western Digital Ext Hard Drive with plenty of HD space.
Fine. But where are the Render files being written to and how much space is on that drive?
Look at your Scratch Disks setting to find out. -
CS 4 Dynamic Link to Encore doesn't work most of the time. Encore stops operating after opening and periodically Premier Pro stops working. I'm told that there has been a problem with CS4 when using Dynamic Link to go to Encore and build CD's. Is there a way around this? Is there a patch to correct it?
To build CD's???
What problem does Encore have with DL?
If DL is not working properly for you the way around this is to export from Premiere to either mpeg2-dvd for DVD or BluRay H.264 for BD-disks and import the files in Encore. -
Mac Pro has problems rendering and RAM previewing in Adobe AE
I've been using Adobe After Effects 7 and I have a 3g new Mac Pro. It's a great computer, really fast with Final Cut Studio Universal, etc. and when rendering sequences in FCP the program doesn't quit. BUT, when I'm trying to RAM preview or render a composition in Adobe After Effects the application will quit unexpectedly everytime. I found that it would only quit when the composition was over approx. 30seconds, but I've used an eMac that never had problems rendering much longer clips. The fact that the program quits after a certain amount of time makes me think it is an issue with RAM availability to the program, as in a conflict with the program, and the new intel-based Mac Pro. I've asked around on the Adobe website but there is no specific solution. Has anyone heard talk that the intel-based Macs or new OSX, are conflicting with Adobe applications, etc?
Mostly correct, Jim. Photoshop CS3 (UB) Beta is available for download and a time-limited license to CS2 license-holders. The time-limit is unspecified, but Adobe says it will end when CS3 is released.
All good reports the last time I checked on various fora.
(CS3 install does not overwrite CS2, so in case Adobe releases CS3 and pulls the plug on those time-limited CS3 Beta licenses, you'll still have CS2 to limp along with until you receive 3.)
CS2 seems to work fine on an Intel Mac, though slower because it's running in Rosetta. Heck, I'm using CS without difficulty, other than the slowness.
However, all that doesn't help the OP with AE, which isn't scheduled for a UB release until mid-2007, IIRC. -
Problema Illustrator CS4 con Wacom Bamboo Fun
Hola.
Me preocupa... ojala me puedas seguir ayudando
Atentamente,

Subject: Problema Illustrator CS4 con Wacom Bamboo Fun
Hola Chiox,

Problem Rendering - After Effects CS4 and CS5
Hello,
This problem happens on both my laptops, both of which are more than capable of running and rendering in after effects. When I render the video, it comes out verry choppy and slow. My specs are:
Dell Studio XPS 1645
Intel Core i7 820QM Quad Core @ 1.62 GHz
ATi Mobility Radeon HD 5730
8GB of DDR3 RAM
Dell XPS M1730
Intel Core 2 Duo Overclocked to 3.4GHz
NVIDIA 8800M GTX in SLi
8GB of DDR2 RAM
If the problem is with hardware, I'm going to have to wait for my new desktop in August.I have this issue when I try to render a project and continue to do other work on my computer. It seems as you compete for CPU resources you do corrupt the rendered file. On my core i7 with 32gb of ram and 2 gforce gtx 480's hooked in an sli config, I dont have this problem since more resources are available than what my AMD Phenom II 980 with 16GB and no video card has.
Some of the effects and such are so cpu intensive that to get a good render you need to schedule the render before you leave the office, go to bed, etc. Basically, when you start the render, leave the computer alone and you will get a nice smooth file.
Also, I like to do my renders in Adobe Media Encoder.. you can import a project into it and allow this app to do the render.. seems to render faster than AE..
I know this what posted in October and I amreplying 5 months later but I figure this is good info for someone who finds this searching for a solution to the same problem. -
Still weird problems with CS4/My new computer
Here is situation. Machine works very well when I´m editing HD video but soon as I start edit multi-cam: PROBLEMS! And as I watch from monitor that materia that I been edited so far, it works well, but as soon as I try to change cameras, everything slows-down. Like there is too little memory or something. Could the problem be somewhere in that CS4 program? Because I watch same time those CPU/Memory values and they don´t go very hight. CPU about max. 40% and Memory max 4Gb. And basicly: Is thia computer powerfull enough for Creative Suite CS4
My graphics card is, ATI Radeon HD 4870. I have update my bios and Radeon should be 64bit with latest drivers.
I have ran PassMark Performance test again and again. 2D results are mysterious low and also disk results ( sequenta write/random seek).
Everydays I got bluescreens (Bad_Pool-Header, Bad-Pool_Caller etc.)
Also I´ve notised that in that computer shop they connect those Hard-drives in in SAT 3 and 4. Should they be connected in 1 & 2?
Also my "first" hard-drive (C:) shoud be very fast, 10 000rpm but in that performance test, and also in Windows hard-drive test results shows, that information does not move as fast as it should be?
Hard-drive is 300 GB ATA II VelociRaptor drive model FS WD3000HLFS
( http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2503 ). Is that hard-drive appropriate for Windows 7 or vise versa?
Or could that problem be in my memory chips?
In here I ad my DxDiag-file. I wonder why there said that in displey devices: Current Mode: 1920 x 1200 (32 bit) (59Hz) ?? Should it be 645Bit be cause displaycard is 64bit ???

Sami MalmbergThanks for tips!
We may have to clear up the hole computer. I have quite a lot videomaterial in hard-drive D, waiting for edit. In C there are basic brograms, Corel X4 and some players. Nothing bigger. Still, before that, now that "normal" HD editing is working quite well, I wonder:
Are CPU about 40% and Memory 4Gb values normal when I´m editing with CS4?
Is my computer actual powerfull enough for Creative Suite CS4?
Why in Earth are those 2D values so lame?
Hard-drives are connected in SAT 3 and 4. Should they be connected in 1 & 2?
First hard-drive (C:) shoud be very fast, 10 000rpm but in that performance test, and also in Windows hard-drive test results shows, why?
Could problem be in my memory chips?
And:
In DxDiag-file, why there said that in display devices: Current Mode: 1920 x 1200 (32 bit) (59Hz) ?? Should it be 64Bit be cause displaycard is 64Bit??
So many questions and so many possibilities...
Thank you very much and sorry all my weird question but I´m about to explode becauise of this stupid machine!!! Arg!
Sometimes I think that it would be better live in stoneage...

Problem Photoshop CS4 3D menu RESOLVED
Hi I had the same problem than Marco_pais in this thread.http://forums.adobe.com/message/2321787?tstart=0#374149
No menu 3D available in PSD CS4.
I've called Adobe support.
- First I upgrade my graphic card (Nvidia)
- then when you restart photoshop : PRESS AT THE SAME TIME CTRL+ALT+SHIFT AND CLICK ON PHOTOSHOP.EXE ICON.
that will delete your preferencies (save them before).
And now it works !!!
Francois - Paris - FranceIf your 3D menu is grayed out it typically means:
The video card is not supported or...
Video card does not have the latest drivers - check ATI or nVidia site.
There is no 3D Engine in the Plugins folder: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins
Does your Video Card support this feature?
We have 3 tiers of support for 3D:
No OpenGL, when only raytracer is used
Minimal OpenGL when OpenGL is used only for wireframe rendering (everything else is handled by the raytracer) Criteria for Minimal OpenGL is OpenGL 1.2.
Full OpenGL, when everything (rendering/shading/painting) is handled by OpenGL. Criteria for Full OpenGL is OpenGL 1.4.
GPU and OpenGL Features and Limitations in Photoshop CS4
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404898.html
Other possible errors might be:
If 3D Menu is not showing?
3D does not work in CMYK mode
Did you enter a Photoshop Extended serial number?
If problems still persist you can email your system information from the Photoshop menu - Help > System Info (see attached image )
Hope this helps,

Probleme Playback CS4 : slowdown / stock every seconds
Hi everybody,
So here is the problem: the playback in Premiere Pro CS4 stock every seconds. It's more like one image repeat itself every 1 or 2 seconds or something.
I first install, everything works. I did a upgrade for my graphic cards: asus HD 5750 Formula 1GB. After that, no enjoying Premiere Pro for me anymore.
I change the graphic card for a Asus ENGTX470. I know than Adobe prefer NVidia than ATI.
I reinstall everything (windows, codec, Adobe Master Pack CS4).
And it works fine again but still this problem of playback.
Here is the PC:
- I7 930 @ 3,19Ghz
- 6 GB GSkill DDR3
- MB asus rampage 2 extreme
- GC Asus ENGTX470
- HDD SATA 320 for windows
- HDD SATA 5oo for Adobe alone
- HDD SATA 320 for Data
- HDD SATA 500 for Data
- Silver Stone 700W
- Screen 1: Fugitsu 25"
- Screen 2: LG HD 22" by HDMI
The OS is windows 7 Ultimate 64bits with upgrade.
Quick Time Pro 7. VLC, etc... all the last upgrade one.
I read than ATI may cause problem with Adobe. Maybe some "rest" of this D#*@?! ATI driver is the problem here.
Should I reinstall windows again by format the disk... ?
How come everything works, including rendering 3D HD by 3DS Max 2011 and a simple playback the PC can not do it ?!
I know than some post talk about that already but it didn't fix my problem anyway.
Please some help, it's very annoying!!! It's years now I work with adobe, never have this problem. And now I work with a brand new super PC, and it doesn't work: I don't understand.
Thanks for you...Hi Bill,
The files come from mustly After Effect or 3DS Max.
It's HD, 1280x720, 25 i/s. Quick Time export, Codec Animation.
I use to do that for the last couple of year, a lot more last year and never have problems.
I precise still, juste in case, than all the rest of CS4 works fine. I am even surprise how fast and precise is Photoshop with the HD screen and the wacom tablet. So Open GL do is job pretty good. Just the playback in Premiere repeat one image every one seconde around.
But it look like the probleme is deeper actually !!!
It's impossible for me to do a "Clean Install".
After boot on the windows 7 ultimate x64 DVD, it load the first files from windows (black screen with white loading).
And stock with the windows background. No pop up with install windows now or anything...
The W7 DVD work no problem if read after boot.
I try many way untill format one HDD and make it boot with just this one alone like "first install" : same result.
I think now than the probleme come from this mustly.
No clean install so the rest from the old install who put the mess stay also, something like that.
I'm trying to check online how to fix that and contact microsoft directly.
I would like the simple solution: go to the seller as customer care. But I live in 3rd World Country, and I would like don't go in another country to reinstall cleanly windows!!!
Thank's for the support and your time anyway. It's help a lot. -
Installation problem - from CS4 to Creative Cloud CS6
Re: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4403515#4403515
THE TWO PROBLEMS
(1) I am a licensed CS4 user who has recently upgraded to Creative Cloud CS6 (that's not a problem, that's just background). The problem is when I attempt to open files through Bridge, Windows Explorer, and even Dreamweaver by Right-Clicking, I get the option to open the file in two applications of the same name. The pop-up menu does not indicate which version is which (CS4 or CS6).
(2) I do not know if deactivating and uninstalling CS4 while CS6 is installed and activated will create any problems.
DESCRIPTION
The screen shot below illustrates the problem. In Dreamweaver CS6, I have right-clicked on a .png to open it in Fireworks. I want to open it in FW CS6, but the versions are not identified.
INSTALLATION STEPS FOLLOWED:
Once my Adobe Creative Cloud membership was active, I performed the following actions:
Opened Photoshop CS4. Selected HELP > DEACTIVATE.
Opened InCopy CS4. Selected HELP > DEACTIVATE.
Opened and signed in to Adobe Application Manager.
Installed CS6 goodies.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
My intent was to deactivate the existing CS4 install, install CS6, activate CS6, and then uninstall CS4.
CS4 was activated by the CS6 install.
I have enough space to keep CS4 without any complications, but I would like to uninstall it.
QUESTIONS
(1) If and when two programs of the same name but different versions appear in my Right-Click Pop-Up menu, how do I determine which is which?
(2) What are the steps to safely deactivate and uninstall CS4 without adverse effects on my CS6 install?
Thanks,
Buck
p.s. I absolutely LOVE CS6!!!File associations in Bridge are handled by the Bridge prefs and in turn build upon your sysrtem's defaulrt fiel associations where appropriate. Therefore you have to tackle that the old-fashioned way - by editing teh prefs and Windows Explorer file types. The rest sounds like you are confusing a few things here - CS6 does not at all have anything to do with CS4. Sounds more like you simply do not erase the CS4 serial from your system when deactivating and it quietly re-activates the apps when you go in and attempt to verify.

Problem with CS4 Master Collection Install
Have tried repeatedly to install CS4 Master Collection on an HP laptop running Microsoft Vista to no avail. I have uninstalled all previous attempts to install, run cleaner, deleted temp file stuff, rebooted ad nauseum etc. Originally, I was receiving a 1603 error code for all major programs: Photoshop, AI, etc. Now, I get a set up error: "set up has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Support." At this point, I have spent days trying to resolve this problem. Please help.
Since you mention Error 1603 you might try going thru the page linked below...
Error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation -
I am developing flash games as a career. I tried using CS4 for the past few months and I am going crazy with all the problems I encounter once I push flash to the limit.
The List of Problems
Filters
1) Filters cannot be applied to movieclips bigger than a certain dimension. Flash will have an error message in the output box. (this occurred with a shape w:3000 X h:2000)
2) The stage/working area and the test movie sometimes will fail to display any filters appiled to movieclip objects.
3) The removal of the "directional dial" in some of the filters make it extremely slow to visually edit the filer e.g. Created a sun on the stage and I want an object to cast a shadow. Apply the drop shadow filter but hard to determine the angle which the drop shadow is cast by just changing numbers
4) Changing values of the filters like "angle", "blur" ...e.t.c using the slider cause a severe lag - resources monitor shows a sudden jump in cpu usage
3D
5) 3D transformation to a shape less than 10 pixels on the width or height distort the shape (blurs the image like as if a blur filtered is applied.
6) When applying a 3D plane to a racing game(back view), "forward" movement makes the camera goes into the plane instead of along the plane
7) It is impossible to create a animation of a moving 3D box without actionscript. The 4 faces facing the top, bottom, right and left will move correctly, But the face facing you will never move correctly.
8) All 3D objects will adhere to one point. Impossible to create 3d objects with multiple vanishing points. Extreme difficult to syncronize multiple 3d objects movement.
Symbols
9) With multple instances of the same symbol on stage, editing filters or colour in the symbol will not reflect changes in other instances on the stage unless the editing involves a change in position. After editing the symbol, move the shape using the mouse and undoing after that will enable the changes to be reflected on stage, That is a waste of effort.
Bitmap fill
10) When the colour effect of a movieclip with a bitmap filled shape inside is changed, the change will undo it self when you zoon in to 800%. After zooming out again, the change in colour effect is still not visible until flash is closed and reopened. The change in colour effects now is visible.
11) Bitmap fill to lines constantly gives the "red colour" whereby the bitmap fill has failed during compiling. However, the stage do not reflect this and the lines still contain the bitmap fill.
Publishing
12) What looks good on stage looks bad when published. A shape that looks good on stage looks different when published. This is especially true for shapes with very small dimensions.
Tween
13) The new tween increases filesize of of the .swf more compared to classic tween. That is bad when size is an issue for downloading and claching webpages.
14) The new structure of flash applies a tween to the object instead of timeline. When tweening multiple objects, the filesize increases drastically when they are more objects (e.g. 16Kb to 170Kb) This will not happen in previous vesions of Flash.
15) Memory leak. Everything you close and open flash, memory leak occurs.
Performance
16) unstable. Flash CS4 has crashed around 60 times since I began using it. Most crash occurs when I am touching the filters. Some crashes occur when I "save and compact". Others are random.
17) The paint bucket icon. Why reverse it for CS3 and CS4 while other tools remain a right hander tool?
Overall
Most of the problems I encountered seem to be derived from one main problem: Bad memory resources management of Flash CS4.
Anyone else have encountered problems not found in my list?Hi - What OS are you running? Is it Windows 7 64bit?

Tabloid duplex printing problem from CS4 (Acrobat and InDesign)
I cannot print a two-page tabloid (landscape mode) pdf document properly from a MacBook Pro or a Mac Pro running 10.6.2 using Adobe Products (Acrobat 8 or 9, or InDesign CS3 or CS4) to an HP LJ5550DN. The printed version prints on both sides of the paper, but the right 1/4 of each page doesn't print. Furthermore, if I reboot and print just one side, it prints fine, but when I select duplex I get this problem and if I try to print just one side again, it prints w/o the 1/4 of the right side of the paper.
I can print the tabloid duplex correctly using Preview on the same computers. I can also print correctly using Acrobat 7 from a Mac G4 running Mac OS 10.4.11. I can print a single tabloid sheet correctly from Illustrator CS3 or CS4 from the Snow Leopard computers, but since Illustrator doesn't handle more than one page, can't send it duplex.
I conclude that the problem is the Adobe software under Snow Leopard. If you know what is wrong with the Adobe software, please send me the fix - it would streamline the process.I'm having exactly the same problem, with a 5500dn. As with you, the problem is present in both CS3 and Acrobat 8 and 9, and I can print a duplex A3/tabloid PDF correctly with Preview. (only the colour balance is rubbish!)
Mac OS 10.6.2, print driver HP Color Laserjet 5500 v3010.107 (although it's obviously not the driver).
Needless to say, any solution to this needs to address CS3 and later apps.
Bug report filed.
Thanks,

Problems with CS4 Locking up after File I/O
I am running:
Vista Ultimate Service Pack 2
Photoshop CS4 with the opengl off
Problem: When I either create a new file or open an already established file the program becomes unresponsive. It locks and hangs. I have read through and tried the KB article that I was giving by support. I have not been able to figure out what is going on. As far as I can tell all of the services that should be running are. Is this a permissions issue with the OS? Just don't know. Please help if you can.
Thanks,You can right click on the .exe file and choose properties, then compatibility, and select run as administrator.
