Problem rendering whole project

Hi
My Adobe Afther Effects CS6 will only render part of my project. My project is about 6 min long, but Afther Effects only renders about 3:20min of my project when I tell it to render it. It dosent stopp rendering or give me an error message, but seems to belive the project is only 3:20 min long (says the total length is 3:20 when it starts the render and finishes the render as if it was only 3:20).
I am rendering to H.264 with best settings and running a 1,3GHZ dual processor with 4GB RAM on a 64bit system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi
Thank you very much for your reply. As far as I can tell the inputt video I have (From GoPro Hero2) is 29 fps, the comp setting says its 25 fps and I belive the fps for H.264 format is 25 fps aswell. I have timed a lot of my transitions to the music and that all works fine on the 3:20 min long video that actually renders out.
Could this problem have anything to do with to little RAM or Cache space?

  • Problems rendering motion projects in Final Cut.

When I import a motion project into final cut, and attempt to render it once it's on the timeline, i just get a black screen.

Here's an inelegant workaround I've used when having these kinds of troubles:
In your FCP timeline, create a slug the exact duration of the Motion project you're trying to import. Then control click on that slug, and choose Send To>Motion Project. It will launch Motion, with all the correct project properties assigned to the Motion file. Copy all your work from the first Motion project (the one that renders black), and paste it into this new Motion file that FCP has created. Hit Save in Motion. Then try rendering again in FCP. (Also, in FCP's Canvas, make sure Image is selected in the upper rightmost dropdown, or you might just get black.)

  • Great Resource for anyone having problems rendering their projects

We see questions almost every day about rendering problems. Why does my file???
The best solution for most rendering problems is to use the Adobe Media Encoder. Joost van der Hoeven has created a new series on the AME for Adobe TV. I just watched them all. They are clear, concise and a great resource for anyone wanting to understand the rendering process and deliver high quality product to their viewers.

This does not solve the problems in the rendering.

  • MacBook Pro with SSD that has a limited disk space (120GB). Rendering in Project File (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects), it takes huge space and the limited disk space would not be enough for the whole editing.

I'm using MacBook Pro with 128GB SSD that has a limited disk space. As we know, when rendering in Project File (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects), it takes huge space and the limited disk space would not be enough for the whole editing.
My question is, Is there any method to get the rendering Projects file saved into an external hard drive which is connected with USB/ Thunderbolt/ Firewire, with huge disk space (eg. 500GB HDD).
Now, new project created in my Mac is automatically saved in (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects) and my Mac has ran out of space to hold the files.
    Thank you.

You have at least 3 different ways to show the project library:
    1) Go to WIndow->Show Project Library
    2) Click the button in bottom left of your window:
    3) Hit the keyboard shortcut (Command-0)
The project library will be shown, occupying the area where the timeline usually is.
Your hard disks will be visible. Click the hard disk where you want the new project to reside and hit Cmd-N to create a new project.

  • Problems Rendering AAF imported Sequence(with Automatic duck) from Avid in CS5

    Hey
so I'm encountering some troubls with rendering out my whole Project. Everything from export in Avid to import in AE worked perfectly so now im working with the Quicktime ref files created by the Duck(Codec DNxHD 120). I was able to do all my compositing and even render ot some short sequences to show my Client.
But now I'm ready to render out my complete Sequence and it always gets to about 30-36 seconds and then says there is something wrong with the quicktime ref file. But if I just render that one image everything is fine....
Has anyone else encountered this kind of Problem and has some usefull advice?
    Thanks in Advance
    Stephan

Consolidate your media files in Avid to be in the same location and/ or even a single mixdown clip and re-export the references.

  • I finished adding my transtions to my timeline.  I was having crashing issues so I shut down everything before I rendered the project and now it tells me that the project is unreadable or the file is too new for this version of final cut. What Happened?

I finished adding my transtions to my timeline.  I was having crashing issues so I shut down everything before I rendered the project and now it tells me that the project is unreadable or the file is too new for this version of final cut. What Happened?

    What Happened?
No way for us to know.  But if your system was crashing, there definitely was a problem.  The FCE error message you got normally indicates the FCE project file has been corrupted.  This probably happened due to whatever caused your system to crash & shutting down the system.
First, make sure your system is running correctly.  Then, use the Finder to navigate to /users/yourusername/Documents/Final Cut Express Documents/Autosave Vault and find the most recent backup copy of your FCE project file.  Copy the file to your Final Cut Express Documents folder (copy the file, don't just move it).  Then double-click the copy to open it in FCE.  It should open ok, but will probably not have your most recent edits (transitions).  You may have to rebuild the transitions, but at least you will be back in action.

  • Suddenly my whole project is in 3:4 how can i switch back to 16:9?

I don't know why or how, but since some minutes my whole project is in 4:3 format.
I tried to restore the project to an older version, but the resolution is still 4:3.
I have really no time to redo the whole editing, the movie has to be finished today!
Does someone know how i can switch everything back to 16:9?

Thanks for the answer, i added a screenshot of one file.
They all were correct a few minutes before, so i don't think the problem is by the files.
Every backup has now the same ratio of 4:3 so i think there is a problem with a program setting,
maybe a keyboard combination pressed by accident?

  • Having problems rendering

    Hello everyone:
OK now I'm having problems rendering. I have about 6m:22sec of video that I need to render. But I get this Render Error:
Insufficient disk space. Free up space with the Render Manager and Retry?
There is no files in the Render Manager Section?
What do I do. The project is on a 1 TB Western Digital Ext Hard Drive with plenty of HD space.
    Any help would be great.
    This is not my day
    Damon

The project is on a 1 TB Western Digital Ext Hard Drive with plenty of HD space.
Fine. But where are the Render files being written to and how much space is on that drive?
Look at your Scratch Disks setting to find out.

  • Problem rendering video

Every now and then when trying to export an MP4 movie, the rendered file is corrupt and file size is 0 KB. Sometimes when this problem occurs, but not always, I also get a warning message saying "File importer detected an inconsistency in the file structure of... Reading and writing this file's metadata (XMP) has been disabled". At first, I thought this was the reason for the problem, but since the warning message doesn't occur every time, I don't think it is. Also, If I try exporting the movie once again without making any changes, it seems to work fine. I have a fairly recent computer with Windows 7, a good amount of hard disk space and RAM memory and a Radeon HD graphics card also with a good amount of memory, so the hardware shouldn't be causing the problem, I think. Suggestions, anyone?

Over the past few weeks I have been preparing an
IMovie project using Video Clips, Photo Clips and
Title pages. I then proceeded to render my project
last night. However, after rendering the project,
the Photos are fine, but the Video Clips and Title
pages are now no longer there. I am still new at
using IMovie, so I do not know what I have done
    wrong.
    Thanks
    Andy
Your problem may be, that you may have forgotten to save your program when you closed it. You may have also forgotten to save the program from time to time while you were working on it. Is this what happened? iMovie suggests that you do frequent saves to your program while you are working on it. I had the same problems until I started saving my projects about every five minutes. When you are working on your project, do you still have your camcorder hooked up to your computer? It might help to disconnect it until after you have finished editing and creating your project, and it is saved and burned to a DVD, or placed in a backup area, preferably an external harddrive or, other system backup device.

  • Export the whole project to external harddisk

Due to the limit of SSD storage in Macbook Pro , I want to export the whole project together with source files, rendered files, title, music ... to external harddisk for storage, and incase want to use it back, that I can imported into the Final Cut Pro

  • Can't Render Whole Project

    Hey,
I am doing some work for people with my new program (FCE) and i got to about half way and decided to render by going: sequence, render all, both.
It appeared to be doing so but then after about 2% the 'rendering box' just dissappears. A while later i get an error message saying 'FXScript Outofbounds'
i have no idea what this means, so i tried rendering each bit individually, which appeared to work.
So i tried again to 'render all' and once again it wouldn't work.
So this time i tried: sequence, render only, and then chose all of the options there (unlimited, preview, proxy etc.) and they all worked except for preview.
Which did the same thing as when i try to render the whole project.
    Help! its Urgent!

Having same issue here. Also getting crashes on "render". I am using a source DVCProHD clip and rendering the graded clip to the preset Apple Pro Res 444.  You can see the flicker effect here horizontal lines:
Another issue, when I "save" the "look" it isn't saving what is on the screen. IOW, if I finish grading and save the project. Then save the look, the thumbnail is not even close to what is on the screen. If I "save" the look and immediately select that saved look it completley and randomly changes the grading, sometimes turning red, sometimes green. So these are not working for my in After Effects.
This is the "look" I get when I save the above grade"

When rendering a project, FCPX did not stop at 100% but appeared to keep rendering - when it reached eleven thousand something, I quite FCPX (it allowed me to quit).

The background tasks indicator just kept going and going... 200, 300... 400... 600...800... When I opened the background tasks window, the only process it said was active was rendering.
I clicked on "stop" but it ignored me, kept counting on and on....  1000... 2000,,, 5000 I clicked Pause, it didn't ignore me but still kept counting...  7000... 10,000...
I went to my activity monitor on my mac and from what it said (like, 97% or so idle), I surmised that it actually had stopped rendering.  So I quit FCPX - no problem, no "not responding" or "force quit" or anything.
My external harddrive was still whirring (that's where my project is stored) so with much trepidation I ejected it: no problem...
After my question I (agian with much trepidation) opened FCPX, did some editing, rendered, exported, without problems.
But I'm concerned about what might have caused this bizarre behavior and what to do if it happens again.
    any thoughts???

  • Intel Macs & G5s: Problems when moving projects between them

An earlier post* suggesting complete compatibility between the latest FCP in a G5 and in an Intel Mac may be in error.
We are experiencing continuing crashes using our Intel Mac when we work on projects that were originally either imported or partially rendered in the G5.
It has gotten to the point where we feel we must keep projects completely isolated from each other: Either it is a "G5 project" or it is an "Intel Mac" project. Moving projects back and forth between the two leads to problems such as:
The Intel Mac does not recognize any renders done in the G5...
The Intel Mac crashes when rendering 'G5' projects...
The Intel mac crashes when compressor goes to work to export sequences to mpeg...
The G5 works fine with Intel Mac-originated material: It is only in the Intel Mac where we have these problems.
Both systems are up-to-the minute on their OS, security updates, and FCP versions. We are using variously 720p/30 from the JVC GY-100UA and 1080i/30 from the Sony Z1U.
    Our questions are:
Is anyone else experiencing similar problems moving projects between a G5 and an Intel Mac?
Is anyone moving projects between the two platforms and experiencing NO problems at all? That information would be just as valuable, and very welcome.
Apple FCP development team: Is our experience unique or have you had other reports like this? Any idea what could be causing our problems -- and what we can do to fix them?

    Intel MacPro Tower, 3gHz, 8mb   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Also a G5 Tower, 2x2.5ghz, single core

    Scott,
    Welcome to the discussions!
I have had no problems moving my G5 projects over to my MP.
You can not move render files between machines.
When you changed systems, did you use Migration Assistant to transfer your files over to your new Mac Pro? You might need to install from the disks in order to achieve native Intel performance. See if you installed Final Cut 5.1 on your G5 then it installed the PPC code... if you put that drive into your Mac Pro or used Migration Assistant to move the app over it is still the PPC code... When you install from the installation disk, Installer determines what system you are installing on (PPC or Intel) and that's what it installs. This goes for all of your "Universal Binary" apps...
In the System Profiler app. under Software/Applications
Final Cut Pro "kind" should be Universal on your MP.
The FCP development team do not read these posts, only users do.

  • IMovie clips cant be cut because whole project is trashed

I have had a fair amount of experience with iMovie but now when I import from analog video 8 using Sony DCR TRV 460 that creates digital output, the iMovie project seems ok. Then when I try to cut clips the whole project gets trashed. If I get info" on a clip, it has the same size as the whole project. Even clips split at video head are the same. I have no idea what to do.
    Thanks
    Anthony [email protected]

...but when I edit & trash any one clip, the whole lot of dubdivided clips go down with it
Something sounds profoundly wrong with the project. If it were mine, here's what I would try:
    1. Repair permissions. Maybe something is preventing iMovie from working with the project as it should.
    2. After splitting the clips, Select All (to select all the clips), Copy, create a new project, and Paste. iMovie should duplicate that large source file to the new project and place all the clips on the Timeline. Be sure to Copy and Paste all the clips together, otherwise iMovie will duplicate that large source file AGAIN the second time you Paste. If the new project behaves as it should, problem solved.
    3. Export the project to a Full Quality movie, then import that movie to a new iMovie project. If there's a problem with the original imported movie, that might fix it.
    4. Create a new user and try working in iMovie as that user. If there's a conflict with other software -- or a bad third-party plug-in-- that should reveal it. Everything should work okay because that software isn't running.
Otherwise, I think I'd start over with the project. (Which may not help, unfortunately.) I wouldn't want to continue to invest lots of time editing this project only to have it all be wasted when even more major problems occur. Right now, this project is too fragile to rely on.

  • Two months of  Premiere Pro - two major Errors that stopped the whole project

I have switched from FCP - and I am quite dissappointed.
Within two months I have experienced two major errors that stopped the whole project. Something like that never happened to me in 15 years of AVID an FCP. -
    1. Err msg. "Project contains sequences that cannot be opened" - No way to open the project at all after two weeks of working on it.
    2. Err msg. "A Low-level exception occurred in: Adobe Player" - No way to play back the sequence at all. Had to be finnished in FCP.
Apart from that Premiere keeps loosing Render Files and does not recognize my USB-audio-device.
Can anyone help me (tech support) PLEASE?
Am I the only one with problems like that?
    - Thinking about switching to MC7.
    CS6
    OS 10.8.2.

You specify "CS6," but do not indicate whether you have patched to the latest. If you haven't please do so.
Any time I hear "crash on launch" (or words to that effect), my first thought is that something in the preferences may be tripping up the app. You can clear the prefs by holding Shift+Option while launching the app--keep the keys pressed until PPRO finishes launching. If you've invested time customizing your prefs and want to be able to revert to them in case they weren't the cause of the problem, then you can manually move or rename them; let us know if you need help finding them.
Other possible culprits, in the order that I recommend proceeding:
If the crash occurs only when you launch directly into a particular project, then naturally that project is most likely the cause.
Drivers, especially for graphics card: update them (on Mac, that means updating OSX)
    third party codecs: uninstall them
third party hardware: first update drivers. If that doesn't help, disconnect or disable the hardware
