Problem repairing Photoshop Elements 6

I have had Photoshop Elements 6 happily running under Windows 7. However, it now will not load.I have tried to repair it, but when I run the insatllation disk, and select repair, it asks me to insert Disk 1. But there is no Disk 1!!. When I tried to download a trial copy from the Adobe site, the "Download" button responded, but then nothing happened. I repeated this exercise many times with the smae result.
Any suggestions will be most welcome.

The main problem is that when I click to start PSE6, the icon flutters, and the wait icon comes on for about a second, then nothing. I have tried starting from shortcuts and from Explorer with the same result.
So, thought I, a repair is required, so I dragged out the original disks (it came with Premiere Elements, but each on a separate disk). The disk loaded OK, and asked if I want to repair or uninstall. On clicking repair, I was asked to insert Disk 1, which I do not, or ever have, had. None of the Disks in the pack are numbered.
I then thought that I could download and install trial version from Adobe. I found the download button and it responded to my click, I saw a couple of quick messages that it was connecting, and then….nothing.
I suppose I could do a complete uninstall/clean install, but I was hoping for something easier, first.

Today while attempting to print, a strange problem came up: After going through the protocol to make a print, just before the image prints PE does a very fast auto correction that basically ruins all the color correction I have made on the image. How do I disable this function?

Hi and thanks for your reply. I checked the settings under "Print", "More Options", then "Color Management" and it only has "Print Space", none of the three options that you said I should have. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Check your color management by clicking More Options in the print dialog There are basically three options:1) Printer Manages Color2) Elements Manages color3) No color Management Make sure everything is consistent e.g. if you choose Elements manages color make sure color management is switched off in the print driver.

Problems installation Photoshop Elements 8 on Windows 7

I tried to install Photoshop elements 8 on my Windows 7 computer, but the installation gives a failure after a certain time. A file "...cab" is not working and may be corrupt ( exact failure code I can give, if necesary). Is there any possibility to get this file or the program Photoshop Elements 8 as download file so that I can complete the installation? Thank you in advance for your answers.

I just got the same problem already some time ago when I tried to install this programm in my computer. At that time (March 2012) the program crashed my computer, I had to reinstall all the Software completely including system software. The program I purchased in December 2011 from Amazon together with a Reflecta crystal Scan slide scanner as bundle, so I thought it will work.
I will try to install the program from the download link you gave me, in case it does not work, what can I do next without having to buy a newer version?

Problems with Photoshop Elements 11

I have a problem with Photoshop Elements 11, which i bought last week. Installing was completed according the instructions. When I started to use the program my one year old HP-computer with Windows 8.1 informed that there a failure in the Photoshop program and the did not open.

Problems running Photoshop Elements 6

Please can somebody help relieve this headache?! I recently bought a reconditioned Powerbook G4 which had OS 10.5.2 installed. I then installed all my personal software (Sibelius, Office etc) with no problem. Then i bought a copy of Photoshop Elements 4. It installed ok but when launched it crashed. I tried removing possible conflicting Adobe preferences, as advised in forums, but still same problem came back. I decided that Elements 4 was not compatible so i bought a brand new copy of Elements 6 while on holiday in Toronto, Canada. THE SAME PROBLEM! So, frustrated I deleted EVERYTHING that says Adobe from every folder i could find. Still crashes after launching. I am using the admin account so I know its not that. Anybody know what I can do? (I am not a computer expert, so walk me through it) Thanks!

Hi again, doughnuts. I'm sorry that test wasn't more revealing. Not being a user of either Leopard or PSE, I'm not sure what to suggest next, apart from checking Adobe's forums to see whether others have reported the same problem.
You could, of course, do some of the normal, nonspecific general troubleshooting and maintenance steps such as Repairing Permissions and Repairing Disk with Disk Utility and making sure you have at least 10GB of free space available on your hard drive.

Problems with Photoshop Elements 8

I need help with my software. Every time that I print a photo using Photoshop Elements 8, the photo comes out with vertical lines and the colors are awful. I need to use Windows Photo Viewer to print photos, but I do not have the options I have when using Photoshop Elements 8. I need to know what can I do to correct this problem. The printer has no problems. Thank you for your prompt respond.

Problem with Photoshop Elements 6.0 disc

When I purchased a wacom bamboo fun tablet last year it came with free a Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 disc. However, the disc isn't working. I hvae my serial number and everything, but whne I put the dic in the drive, nothing happens. Is there any way to download Elements 6.0 and then just enter my serial number? (Like how you do with a free trial, I think?)

Im moving to a new computer and cant find the disc for elements 6.
I managed to get the serial off my old computer (using a program made for finding it in registry),
but I dont know how to install it to the new computer without a disc.
Isnt there a trial for it anywhere? I wanna draw!
PS, mine came with my intuos3. the tablet is kinda the only thing I didnt lose.

Problems with photoshop elements 10 and windows 8

I bought photoshop elements 10 for my wife last year for Christmas. She decided not to install it on our old computer because we knew that we were planning to replace the computer this year. We finally got around to replacing it and the new computer came with Windows 8. She installed her photoshop on it and she is having problems with it. I'm wondering if there is a compatability problem with the windows 8? Is there an update for the pse 10 that will make it work with windows 8?

Very frustrating problem with Photoshop Elements 10 - can anyone help?

I don't know what's happened, and I haven't changed any of the settings or anything.
When I open a photoshop file I am currently working on, now, no matter what I do, nothing changes in the actual photo. Even when I delete layers to see if it reverts back to the original photo, nothing changes. When I try adding new layers, nothing happens, when I try adjusting something such as opacity, or brightness/saturation, nothing changes.
I've tried opening/creating other photoshop files and I have the same problem, so it seems a problem with the actual software, rather than individual files. Even after uninstalling then installing the software, the problem is still there.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Or could you direct me to a good help forum/source?

Screen problems with photoshop elements 10

I installed Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements.
Premiere Elements works allright, but Photoshop E 10 gives screen problems.
De menu's on the top roll out, but there is no text in them.
The screen in Organiser is distorted.
I reinstalled P E 10 but the same problem accurs.
I dit a computer reset to an earlier date and installed Ph.E. 10 again but the same problem. No text in the topmenus and a distorted screen in Organiser.
Letters become 6x larger than normal.
All my other programms work fine. I never had screenproblems.
I use Elements 8 now again and that works fine.
I use: Windows 7
Card: NVIDEA GeForce GT 220 resolution 1680x1050
Do I have to remove Elements 8 before installing Ellements 10? Is that perhaps the problem?

Ken, The problem is: The buttons don't work. So I cannot use Edit...
But:
I reïnstalled Adobe Elements 10 for the 4th time
Cleaned my register again.
restarted my computer
Did a computer reset to an earlier date
Installed Elements 10 again but .......not the try version of Premiere Elements.
Now Elements 10 has a normal screen.
This was a try and error sollution. I hope it will last.

Installation problem with Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10

I purchased in a package Photoshop Elements 10 as well as Premiere Elements 10. It comes with 5 disc....When I install the first disc it does not ask for the 2nd disc once the first disc is done. When the first one was done the option was hit finish and I did and that was it. It did not request the next disc. What do I do?

I have to say that for a reputable company such as Adobe, the instructions for download are totally non existent. The download for purchases on line are controlled by Digital River. I had problems with downloading as the link on the email confirming my purchase didn't work finally found the url link by pasting the email in Front Page and reading the source.
When I finally got through I was advised by the Digital River customer service that I had had too many attempts at downloading the software. When I sent a mail to CS at Digital I received this reply:
"Unfortunately, we do not handle the customer service for Adobe Systems,
Inc. Home. Please contact them directly with your request through one of
the following methods:
Customer Service URL: http://www.adobe.com/ap/support
Customer Service Phone: If available, the regional numbers will be
listed at the URL above.
We apologize for the inconvenience."
I have now run around the adobe site trying to find a way to download the products, but no joy so far.
I tried to get customer serice to call me back , but this service is not available for my country, Thailand.
The final way I am told is to make a call to the customer service at the number listed on my confirmation email.
I already called this number (which I believe I have to pay for) and spent some 10 minutes on the line to what I believe was someone located in India who said he would send me a link for downloading the software.
As they say in the song .... I'm still waiting!!!!!
Adobe, shame on you. Please get your act together. Why can't you handle your own customer service rather than sub contract it out. You charge enough for the product which more than covers the cost

hey my friend i figure out a way to fix it. do te following
If you have any external hardrive or usb drive or sd card remove it. If you have acces to a windows computer, plug your devices there and delete all the .something files that are created by mac os. Make sure to setup windows so you can see hidden and system files. Delete all thos .somethig files and olders.
Then plug in and reboot your mac and run the rm command now it will work

Problem with Photoshop Elements 10 organizer

My Photoshop Elements 10 organizer will not let me use any of the features. I have a number of photos that show up when I open the organizer, but it won't let me scroll through them. Whenever I try to move through the photos with my mouse, it keeps jumping back to the top of the photos. Also, when I try to open the "file" or "edit" etc, it just flashes quickly the things in that section and goes off so quickly I can't select anything. I don't seem to have this problem in the editor portion of the program. Really frustrating.

Hold down the Alt + Ctrl + Shift keys as you click on the icon to open Elements. When asked if you want to delete the settings file, say yes.
Reset the preferences as above.
Close Elements and let the file regenerate.
Mac
Hold down the Opt + Cmd + Shift keys as you click on the icon to open Elements. When asked if you want to delete the settings file, say yes.
Reset the preferences as above.
Close Elements and let the file regenerate.
Also, if you using windows , try the following steps:
Right click on the PSE icon and select run as administrative.
