Problem restoring my replacement iPhone4 from previous iPhone4

I just got my replacement iPhone4 back after totally destroying my previous one. I had backed up the old one but when I try to restore, I now get a strange command that "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes"
Now, I cannot do anything except go to Restore to its original settings which I will not do. I just want it to restore from the backup.

You can't restore your backup until the replacement iPhone has been reloaded with the basic firmware. This should have already been done before you got the replacement!
You can also go into iTunes and restore the iPhone to it's original settings, most likely you don't currently have a copy of the iOS 4 firmware so you will need to download it. Make sure that you download the same version that you had on your previous iPhone 4 so that you can then restore your previous backup after it reboots.
Where did you get the replacement? If it was the Apple store, just return it and they will swap it out or reload a base iOS4 so that you can then just connect to iTunes and restore your backup.

There are tow ways you can handle this. One is to copy the notes to your computer using iTunes to send them to Outlook. The other would be to create or have an iCloud account so that the notes are synced online and then all you have to do is sign back in to get them. When I restored my phone from icloud, half of my pics and videos have been deleted, the pics that were restored on my phone are very blurry, and the videos won't play. I get a message on my phone that says " the URL you are requesting is not found on this server". I have erased and reset my phone twice, but every time I do it, more pics and videos are deleted. I have backed up to icloud and iphoto, however, some of the pics are no longer on iphoto either. Is there someway to get the videos to play on my phone again? Make the photos not as blurry as they are now and to restore the pics and videos that have been lost? I really would love to have them back, this phone is supposed to be the best and right now it doesn't seem to be. Please help if you can.

I too have noticed that once i restored from iCloud. Pictures blurry and videos wont play!

Restoring my replacement iPhone4

Hi,
I just recieved a replacement iPhone 4 from Apple and plugged it into my itunes to restore the back up I had made from my old phone.
When I initially plugged the phone it it gave me the option to restore from the back I had made a few days ago, however it said the software on the phone was older than the back up and advised me to set the phone up as a new phone to update the software and then restore the back up.
I followed the instructions and set the phone up as a new phone and did the software update.
The problem I have now is when I select restore it does not come up with the option to restore the back up I made a few days ago. The only option it offers is to restore the phone to the factory settings.
Have I somehow lost all the data from the back up of my old phone? If not, how do I get the back up I did to restore onto my replacement phone?
Please help because the thought of losing everything from my old phone is enough to make me feel sick!!

Restoring open web pages from previous hard drive back up

I've had to replace a hard drive on a Mac computer running OSX. I had a large number of web pages open in Firefox on the previous drive, which I backed up completely before the new one was put in. I would like to restore these pages (similarly to the "restore previous session" function) perhaps using the Profile data from the application backed up on the previous drive.
Is there a data file or files that I can simply copy and paste over from the Firefox application contents on the previous hard drive which will allow me to to restore the session I had up before the hard drive was replaced when I start Firefox on the new computer? A solution to this would be much appreciated.

How can I restore folders and files from Previous Systems folder

I have been unable to migrate files (or even find the option to migrate files) located in my Previous Systems folder. I've been able to change the Privilege of these files to Read & Write (though my Permissions still indicate "You can only read.") and drag them from my previous Users folder to my current desktop, which creates a situation where I have them but am still unable to alter them (or delete them).

Here's my exact issue: I've spent many hours converting vinyl records to mp3s, which were then stored in the iTunes folder of my previous system. Upon performing the Archive and Install, all of these files were located in my Previous Systems>Users>"X">Music folder, which initially could not be opened, prompting the notice, "The folder Music could not be opened because you do not have sufficient access privileges." So, I clicked "Get Info" and changed the Privilege from Read Only to Read & Write. From there I could open the folder, and as you pointed out, move these files wherever I chose. The problem is that I can't use them in any practical sense; I can't import them to my iTunes library and I can't delete them, being notified, "The operation can't be completed because backup items can't be modified." Which, would lead me to believe that I have yet to restore them properly.

My new iPad has the wrong iCloud account (restored an old backup from previous iPad). It's pointing to an account that no longer exists and now I can't delete it because I can't log into it. Find my iPhone wants me to log in before deleting the account.

I have an old iPad2, and received a new iPad Air. When I set up the iPad Air, I started as a backup from the iPad2, instead of treating it as a new iPad setup. It also asked if I wanted to set up Find My iPhone and I said yes. Problem is that I also (previously) changed the primary email address on my iCloud account, but never changed the iCloud setup on my iPad. So now the iPad Air has iCloud pointing to the email address as the account name. I want to just delete this account and enter the new email, but Find My iPhone won't let me - it asks for my password first. Problem is, it won't accept the correct password because the primary email has changed.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

[SOLVED] Problems restoring network on wake from sleep - Zbox AD04

I have some issues with restoring the wired ethernet connection when waking from sleep. Sometimes it takes 1 or 2 minutes before it comes back up and sometimes it won't work at all unless I restart (usually when it has been in sleep for hours).
The network is configured to a static IP address in rc.conf. Hardware is a Zotac Zbox AD04 (AMD Fusion E450 system) using the r8169 driver. I guess this is probably a driver issue, but I wondered if there's anything else which I could do to solve the issue. I've tried adding r8169 to SUSPEND_MODULES, but that seems to make no difference.
Another issue is that the network is "unreachable" for about 30s to a minute after booting.
Could it be a problem with my router?

Problem opening a converted project from previous version of Premiere CC, in Premiere CC 2014.

Hello. This is the problem. When I try to open with premiere pro CC 2014 a converted and actualized CC 2014 version of a project created previously in a previous version of premiere, the software crash.
Said in other words if it doesn't clear:
- I created a project in Premiere CC
- I actualized the project to Premiere CC 2014
- I worked in the project with the new Premiere CC 2014 for few days and suddenly, I cannot open the project and the software crash.

Rather than opening directly, try importing the project via the Media Browser Window.
Much more efficient as you'll have more options.

I recently received my new iPhone 4 from my carrier since my old one was stolen. I restored my new iPhone from my old iPhones iCloud back up but now all the pictures that were stored in my old phone are blurry in my new phone. Please help!

Luckily, using the "Find My iPhone" app, I was able to scare the thieves into bringing my iPhone back to the place they stole it from (Dave and Busters..on my BIRTHDAY OF ALL DAYS). So now, $169 later (deductible for replacement iPhone), I have both my 1st iPhone and my replacement. On my first iPhone, I have all of my pictures saved and they are very clear, but when I restored my replacement iPhone from my original iPhones iCloud backup, all the pictures that I took in my original iPhone are blurry! I thought about backing up my original iPhone through iTunes and then resetting my replacement iPhone and restoring it from my original iPhones settings but I dont want to lose all of my new pictures I took. I know this sounds confusing (well, it looks confusing, since you cant actually hear me) but I could use all the help I can get!

No such thing has occurred. iPhones do not backup to one another.
It is not possible to backup a different iPhone from the one being updated.
If the iPhone was restored with a backup from a different device, restore it again from the correct backup.

TAX SUMMARY REPORT: Credit from previous months

Dear experts, I have a problem in the Tax Summary Report. In this report there is a wrong value in the fiel "credit from previous months". The correct value is "0" but in the report I find another value.
I print the report of the previous months and there is the same problem (wrong value of credit from previous months)

Mobile Me preventing restore from backup on replacement iPhone4

Hi all, today I got a replacement iPhone4 because the home key had stopped working. I'm trying to set it up using my last backup but it stops half way, and MobileMe is up on the phone screen saying "Cannot find [email protected]". If I then look at the phone, some of the data has been restored (text messages, contacts etc) but some things like my wifi password have not been restored.
Anybody have any idea of what's going on? Is there some way I can restore everything except MobileMe and set that up later?

You need to import the photos with your computer, or transfer the photos from the phone to your computer followed by transferring the photos to your iPhone the same way you transfer any other photos on your computer to your iPhone - via the iTunes sync/transfer process. This is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

I just went to apple store and get the replacement iphone4 from apple store, and my old iphone4 was unlocked, so the replacement iphone4 that apple gave me is locked or unlocked？

If the iPhone has, subsequent to the original purchase, been legitimately unlocked (as happens in UK )by the carrier, then a replacement either as a warranty or out of warranty will be unlocked as long as the transaction is carried out in original country.
However make sure the Genius is clearly aware that the iPhone is unlocked
I have replaced an iPhone4 in warranty and replacement was correctly locked whilst a 3G was unlocked by O2 and the out of warranty replacement was correctly unlocked

I am having major problems restoring from Time Machine. The computer tells me I have completely restored but no data is available in the various applications.

I had backed up all my data to Time Machine, then securely deleted all data on my MacBook Pro and reinstalled Snow Leopard, prior to having Apple replace a faulty Airport card. I went through the normal restoration process from Time Machine, which took quite some time (about 2.5 hours for 240 Gb of data, including applications) without giving any indication of a problem. However, although the computer indicates that 240 Gb has been reinstalled on the hard drive, data such as photos, music, documents, IOS apps, movies, etc , is not showing up in the relevent application i.e. photos in iPhoto or mobile apps in iTunes. Even though application icons were visible in the dock, they would not open. I spent two days (one hour one day and five hours the next) at the Apple Genius Bar trying to find out what the problem was, without any success. No matter what was tried, no clear solution was evident so I was given a manual workaround to bring back banks of files one at a time, which has given me some workability. All data is obviously stored on the external hard drive, but restoration has not been successful. I have successfully used Time Machine to restore all data from a previous MacBook to my current MacBook Pro without any hitches whatsoever. The only difference this time is that I have two separate accounts on the Pro, which may be causing the problem. I can restore items manually from either account but they all go into one account. Also, when manually restoring photos or music from Time Machine, I am unable to select the relevent location for this data, i.e. iPhoto or iTunes. The only way I got these into the relevent application was by putting them into a burn folder or onto a thumb drive and then dragging them into the dock application. I am not very computer savvy and feel totally out of my depth to manually restore everything back to where it was before the clean install, particularly the two user accounts, which I would loke to have back again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
