Problem retrieving Apps info via Gateway

I've installed 10g Disco Desktop and Admin.
Both have the gateway info (ie: applsyspub/pub - apps) correctly applied.
In Admin, if I go to: Tools -> Security and put in an Apps user, it sees it fine and I can apply it to a business area.
In Admin, if I go to: Tools -> Privileges, I've set the same Apps user with all sorts of good power including admin.
However, when connecting to Admin or Desktop and putting in the Apps user, it does not connect and only seems to work with database users.
The Tools -> Options -> Connection is set to allow both types of users.
Is there a process I'm not aware of that enforces the gateway connection, etc. as I would have thought this should work due to only client / server versions at this point.

Hi Russ,
Firstly, you need to create an Apps mode EUL to be able to connect as an Apps user. When you have an Apps mode EUL you should be able to connect as an Apps user, the EUL owner but not with any other database users.
What error message do you get when you attempt to connect as an apps user? Have you checked that you can connect using you gateway connection username/password using sqlplus?

Problems installing apps on ipad via ICU

Hi Everyone
I am an IT admin and have been using the iphone Configuration Utility to setup iPhones and iPads.
I have the latest ICU version 3.61.296 and the latest Itunes version version 10.7.0.21 on WIN 7 SP1 64BIT and I am having problems installing apps onto the iPad 3 version 5.1 (9B176). We do not want to upgrade to IOS 6 yet, because we do not want to lose Google Maps.
I have loaded the latest version of Facebook, Twitter, Yammer and Minivan Touch apps into my ICU under APPS, then I select devices, select my iPad device, click the Application Tab on ICU, select the app to install, click install and it installs OK.
But when I go an run any of the apps I have just installed, it flashes quickly on the iPAd screen and does not launch.
What am I doing wrong or irs there a bug some where?
I have always been able to install apps in the past and also run them correctly.
Please help someone.

In iTunes, go to Edit>Preferences>General and make sure that the "Apps" checkbox is ticked

Actually I did understood your question. I did say that some of that info is available from the hard drive file system.
Use the Object Browser and find this source:
public System.DateTime CreationTime { set; get; }
Member of System.IO.FileSystemInfo
Looking at the properties you'll see all the info you are looking for is there. As I said, some of the info is available from the Summary API's and some are available from the file system. The file system is not CR but basic Microsoft API's. Search their help for more info on how to use them.

Fully close the App Store App. Double tap your home button which will bring the most recently used apps. You'll see the app icon below and a screen shot of the open app page above. With your finger, swipe the open app page upward and the app will close. It's a good idea to regularly close apps when yout using them.
Tap your home button once to bring back your home screen.
App store should operate normally again when you open it.

Problems with sending IDOC via RFC from Unicode to NonUnic

I have following problem, sending an IDOC via RFC from Unicode to Non Unicode System. IDoc is not sent with error: codepage of receiver system cant determined. receiver destination was: Message no. B1999
I have tried different options in sm59, but it didnt help.
Any ideas? The recipient system is rather old, version 4.0

I had a similar experience. I was interfacing between 4.6 (RFC), PI and ECC 6.0 (ABAP Proxy). When data was passed from ECC to 4.6, RFC received them incorrectly. So i had to send trimmed strings from ECC and receive them as strings in RFC (esp for CURR and QUAN fields). Also the receiver communication channel in PI (between PI and RFC) had to be set as Non unicode. This helped a bit. But still I am getting 2 issues, truncation of values and some additional digits !! But the above changes resolved unwanted characters problem like "<" and "#". You can find a related post in my id. Hope this info helps..

Can't get rid of Speedo App appearing when pressing APPs info?

When I tap the APPs icon for app info, the recently downloaded Speedo app centres, inviting me to open it but there's no indication of how to close it/make it disappear so I can't access the APP store. How do I make it go off screen & still access APP store?

Thanks but I repeatedly did exactly that, exploring all possible taps, swipes around the screen & the speedo app remained fully functional inthe middle with the App Store elusively greyed out behind. Went in & out of the screen, opening other apps then returning to the App Store icon same result. Finally shut down my ipad & just opened it this morning & now no problem. I'd really like to know how/why this happened & how I can also delete an app that does this.

Using Adobe CS3 app's via ARD?

I'm wondering if anyone has tried to use the Adobe CS3 design app's via a VPN connection. I have a client who's office will be physically inaccessible for 2 weeks plus, but their computer and internet connection will be functioning normally. I've tried and succeeded in setting up a solid VPN connection, and can remotely control her machine via ARD, screen sharing (10.5.x) and VNC.
The problem arises when trying to use some of the finer control tools within the app's. Specifically, the pencil tool. I get random starburst type rays across the pasteboard. I've checked to make sure that no specific brush strokes are selected. If someone at the office uses the machine with all the same settings the pencil works fine. I've had intermittent success using the pencil in InDesign, but Illustrator and Photoshop consistently give me bad results.
Any thought would be much appreciated.

First: if you have CS3 on your computer and do not have the install disks then you are in violation of the software license.
Second: Minor bugs in Photoshop and Dreamweaver. PS gets slower and slower the longer you work in it.
Last question: probably not as the installer puts files in various places.
The operative answer is the first one. You are on your own conscience.

Problem accessing BBC News via iPad 2, iPhone or web

Anybody else have these problems - and solutions?
I have continuous, but erratic problems accessing BBC News either through MacBook Pro, iPhone 3G or iPad 2 (64G Wi-Fi & 3G). Until a few months ago, I never had problems accessing BBC News via my computer. Now I often cannot access the site at all, and problems occur whether I use Google Chrome (11.0.696.57)or Safari (5.0.5). Erratically and less frequently, however, the pages load OK. I have no problem loading other news websites, e.g. CNN or Al Jazeera. I live in Spain. My internet provider is Movistar. I have an ADSL connection of 10Mb (maximum available here) and a wireless router. My MacBook Pro runs OS X 10.6.7.
When trying to access BBC through Google Chrome, I get the following message:
Oops! Google Chrome could not find www.bbc.co.uk
Try reloading: www.bbc.co.uk/news/
Additional suggestions:
Access a cached copy of www.bbc.co.uk/news/
Trying to access BBC on Safari, I get this message:

Hence, I contacted Movistar (new name of Telefonica) tech support. I was told they knew nothing about the problem and tried to blame my computer for it. And then they hang up!!! Not impressed!!
I wrote to BBC again on May 19 asking WHO I should contact in Telefonica/Movistar, since their tech support staff claim not to know about the problem As of today, no reply from BBC, so still very frustrated!

We checked the note 913783 as per the CUUC guide but the correction only for package SAPKB70004 to 6. but we are in package SAPKB70011.
We had found two notes:
1. Note 1238351 - Hom./Het.System Copy SAP NW 7.0 incl. Enhancement Package 1

There are two possible workarounds:
1. Modify DDL<dbs>.TPL (<dbs> = ADA, DB2, DB4, DB6, IND, MSS, ORA) BEFORE the R3load TSK files are generated;
              search for the keyword "negdat:" and add "CLU4" and "VER_CLUSTR" to thisline.
2. Modify the TSK file (most probably SAPCLUST.TSK) BEFORE R3load import is(re-)started.
              search for the lines starting with "D CLU4 I" and "D VER_CLUSTR I" and change the status (i.e. "err" or "xeq") to "ign" or remove the lines. "
I tried the above solution by editing the file DDL*.TPL but it is skipping the table and marks it as completed but its not the good solution as we will be miss the data from the table RFBLG.
2. Note 991401 - SYSCOPY EXPORT FAILS:SAPCLUST:ERROR: Code page conversion:
Solution
Activate the table.
Then call the RADCUCNT report. Do not change the selected parameters, but ensure that 'Overwrite Entries' is selected. Set the 'Unicode Length' to 2 and fill the last two fields 'Type' and 'Name' with TABL and TACOPAB respectively. Then select 'No Log' or specify a log name.
Execute the RADCUCNT report and restart the export.
We have not tried this solution, bcos SAP is still down and CDCLS job is still running.
We would like to know whether you have faced any issues like the above one and what is your suggested approach and solution.
Is it safe to start SAP now (when the CDCLS job runs) and then try to activate the table RFBLG?

If you have done your pre-conversion steps before upgrade and after upgrade successfully then you should not see the below errors. However changes to SPDD tables may some times also have some impact during conversion and throws nametab errors occurs. Program RADCUCNT runs in the end of upgrade to update nametab tables if any new changes happned during upgrade.
You can do any no of exports to complete jobs successfully.yeah When export running you shouldnt bring SAP up.
The tables you have mentioned all are cluster tables and CDCLS being the biggest table it will take hrs to complete depending on your size of the database.
Do not pay around with the .TSK file until if you are sure you want to re-execute it.Your first possiblility is skipped because there may be multiple same .TSK files present locally(where u r running distribution.monitor (or) sapinst ) and on the common directory. You may also look at the .TSK.bkp files because it get information and creates a new .TSK. This is not complicated but tricky.
secound possibility is to update the changed tables(eg: RFBLG...) to conversion tables.Follow the Note but make sure no R3load processes are running before you start SAP. If you dont want to wait long and sure to restart other processes which are running you can kill it and start SAP. Specify your error tables only and follow instructions given in the note.Once done bring down SAP app. and restart the export process using ur sapinst or distribution monitor.

I am getting the following error:-
Caused by: org.apache.commons.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Could not retrieve connection info from pool
at org.apache.commons.dbcp.datasources.SharedPoolDataSource.getPooledConnectionAndInfo(SharedPoolDataSource.java:169)
According to me the cause of error is because of the database connection was not available in the connection pool. Or it might be due to The connection was not closed properly becuase of the some issue in the persistent layer.
My Research till now:-
Checked all the connection object properly closed in my classes as well as Torque Classes.
Do anyone have any idea regarding this error. If yes, please suggest some solution for it.

I have my complete Torque.properties file, just for the reference, I have pasted few lines from my torque.properties file. Secondly, I am using the JDBC Driver for my oracle connection & its working fine. The problem is when my application tries to access connection from connection pool, & if it finds no connection in the pool it gives error. After increasing the size of the connection in the pool, still I am getting the same error. Do you have some idea regarding this.

App World via Wifi

I tried to access App World via Wifi only (Radio off), but it shows a message saying "...no sufficient wireless coverage...".
Why isn't it possible to access App World via Wifi only?
I would rather use Wifi, than the data plan for obvious reasons, or even the USB connection to my PC.
