Problem running fullscreen programs under DWM...

I'm having trouble getting programs to run in fullscreen in DWM on my laptop.  The issue is when the program changes the screen resolution.  If a program is set to run at the same resolution as my system, there's no problem.  But, when a program has to change the resolution, it changes the resolution but the program doesn't gain focus, so all I see is a magnified version of my WM, and in some cases some of the program's window.  When I exit fullscreen or the program, my WM gets set back to the correct resolution.  I have the same problem whether the tag is set to float, tiling, or monocle.
I don't have a custom xorg.conf and my native resolution is automatically detected, so I don't use anything to set it.  I'm using the open source ATI video driver.
I can't seem to find any solutions to this online...Any help would be highly appreciated.

DOSBox and ZSNES...I also ran a fullscreen program I wrote in SDL first in my native resolution and then half my native resolution to troubleshoot, and that's how I came to the conclusion that the problem has to do with the programs changing the resolution.

  • Problem with running a program under Labview 8.6

    Hello,
I am writing you this to ask for your technical support to fix the problem I am facing at our Lab at University of California, Irvine.
Ms. Vanessa Trujillo has kindly come to our lab a couple of times and tried different things to resolve the issue, but unfortunately the issue is not resolved yet. Here is a summary of the problem:
We used to use Labview 6.1 for our fatigue testing and data acquisition.
    Our
program worked just fine under the 6.1 version We recently upgraded our software to Labview 8.6. We have also purchased a new computer that has higher capacity than what your website requires for Labview 8.6. The new computer has Windows Vista We transferred our old program/subprograms from the old computer under Labview
6.1 to the new computer with labview 8.6. However our program that worked fine with the 6.1 version is not working with the updated version (ver 8.6).
    There
are 6 errors in the error list. It appears there are six files of my program missing under the new version, even though we transferred all files.
The software searches for those files but can't find them.
For example one the box pops up indicates:
            loading:
                        <vlib>:\Daq\lvdaq.dll
            searching:
                        C:\Program Files\National Instrument\LabVIEW 8.6\instr.lib\Agilent34401\public\utility
I get several message like this. I have to cancel/ignore them all to be able to open the program.
When we go to VI's under Measurement I/O there is nothing (empty).
We use a PCI-MIO-16XE-50 for our data acquisition During Labview installation on the new computer, I was asked if I wanted to install the device drivers. I had two options, "Now" or "Later", I picked Now but I didn't have the DVD's/CD's for the device drivers. Therefore I had to select later to complete my software installation Later after Labview 8.6 installation, we installed the device drivers (traditional Ni DAQ and Ni DAQmx) from the two old CD's we had in our lab from a couple of years ago (the CD's were Ni DAQ 7). after installation, the PCI board on the computer was recognized by the device driver. However we still could not run our program under the new version of Labview (same situation and the same messages) I called 1-866-275-6964 on 9/2/08 and talked to Grant (service number:
1228841). He recommended that I download and install the updated version of device drivers.
Since I didn't have the DVD/CD for updated device drivers, I contacted Vanessa Trujillo. She gave me the DVD for the updated Ni DAQ (Traditional and mx).
    But
when I tried to install the updated device drivers I got a message something like "some unsupported filed have been detected,..." so the updated device
drivers were not installed. It should be noted that up to here we still had the Ni DAQ (traditional and mx) installed on the computer from our old CD's (Ni DAQ 7).
Vanessa and I talked to Tom at the technical support department. He recommended that we download and install the Beta xx version for Ni DAQ since we were using Windows Vista. Mike put the Beta software on the Ni website/outgoing so I could download and install it. He asked me to uninstall the traditional Ni DAQ that we had on our computer from the older CD's. He
asked me not to un-install the Ni DAQmx (that we had installed from the old
CD). I was able to download the Beta software, however I could not install it since I got a similar message that some unsupported files were detected.
Right now we don't have any version of traditional Ni DAQ installed on the
computer but the NI DAQmx (from old Ni DAQ 7) is still installed on the computer. Vanessa let me borrow her new Ni DAQ DVD but as I explained I am not able to install the device drivers.
Vanessa - Did I miss anything?
Please advise. My cell number is 619-778-2033. I will be at our lab at UC,
Irvine at 2:00pm (CA/Pacific time). Please call if you have any questions.
    Thank you

To me, it looks like you are missing some of the drivers and subVI's used in your program.
Whatever device you are using to measure fatigue or any other device probably came with a driver.
You need all of these drivers installed on this new computer.
Also, any subVI's and libraries you use in the program must also be installed on the new computer.
Whenever you get a message that says you are missing some component (the ones that you said you press 'ignore'),
see if you can find that library or subVI on the older computer. If so, save it to something so you can transfer them to the new computer.

  • Any problems running a program compiled with SDK 1.4.2_14 with JRE 1.4.2_08

    Hi,
Would there ever be a problem running a program compiled in Java 1.4.2_13 with JRE 1.4.2_08?
Why or why not? No guesses please.
    Thanks

No such hope. The alternative to testing is to review changes made to each version leading up to 14. This is spelled out in each version's Release Document. There are a lot of changes. Most will not affect your program. Each change is relatively well described, but your problem will be to decide if your program will be affected by the change.
Or, do nothing, hope like hell that nothing breaks, and have an up-to-date copy of your resume.
If someone came to me saying a program couldn't be tested, I'd have serious concerns for that person's future.

  • Problem running my program only after making an executable jar...

    Hi everyone,
I am having trouble running my program after creating an executable jar. The program runs fine until
it is supposed to open a specific JFrame. I get the following error message as soon as the frame tries
    to open:
    Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser.<init>(Lorg/apache/xerces/xni/parser/XMLParserConfigurat

Has anyone ever seen this before?
The strange thing is, this does not happen when I build and run the project under Eclipse.
Any help or tips would be appreciated!

  • Problems running Photoshop CS6 under OS 10.8 Mountain Lion

Since updating the OS from 10.6.7 to OS 10.8 on iMacs (21" and 24" Intel 2.4GHz) I have experienced problems running Photoshop. The app boots up fine and I can start a project as normal, but when I click on a tool to change it's usage I get the spinning beach ball, this lasts about 5 - 10 seconds and then the tool drop down menu appears. After this, I get the beach ball appearing every few minutes  as I try to work, and the only way to get Photoshop running efficiently is to close it down  and then restart.
Any ideas as to the cause? I've read on forums from both Adobe and Apple that apparently there are no compatibility issues between Mountain Lion and CS6 but I never had this problem previously under Snow Leopard.

The next two remedial steps would be to reset all tools by right-clicking here:
    and if that does not resolve the problem, reset Preferences;
    To reset Preferences:
If Photoshop is already open on your screen, close it (Quit). Then hold down Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and start Photoshop.
A dialog box will pop up asking if you want to delete the existing Preferences file (the "Settings"). Click Yes in the dialog box. The existing Preferences file will be scrapped and a new one will be created.

    psexec -i -d -s c:\windows\regedit.exe

  • Problems running external programs from java

    Hello.
I wrote a pair of perl scripts and a GUI in java to run them. The first perl script just read the files in one directory makes some changes to the names of the files and then group all this files in a set of new directories. The other perl scripts takes all this new files and calls BLAST sequence alignment program and perform some alignments among these sequences. I tested this scripts and they work fine.
The problem comes when I try to run them for the JAVA GUI. I use RunTime and when I need to run the first perl script it all works well, but when The call to the second perl script is made the program fisishes without doing anything at all. I found out that the problem is that when running the script from the Java GUI it's not able to find BLAST program. So I guess that Java is not really starting a terminal session and it doesn't read my bash_profile to find out the path to my programs.
So, my question is if anyone knows a method to tell Java to load all this paths in the bash_proflie file so all of my scripts work???.
I have no idea is this can be done and how so any advice would be really wellcome.
By the way, my java version is 1.4.2 and my OS is Mac OS X 10.3
    Thanks a lot , Julio

Invoke /bin/sh -c and give it your program's full path with.

  • Running java program under previous JDK release

I have a program that requires jdk 1.3 or 1.4 to run. I have 1.4 and 1.5 installed on my system, but the program detects my jdk version as 1.5 and will not run. How do I tell the program to run under 1.4?

I tried changing the PATH to look at the 1.4 instead of the 1.5. The message keep getting is:

  • Problem running JSP program on OAS 4.0.8.1 with JSP patch

    Hi all
I've been running a JSP application on OAS 4.0.8.1 for a month now, but a week ago, when I updated a Java package on the server, the application will no longer run. The simple JSP pages with no bean-tags runs fine, but the ones with bean-tags doesn't work anymore.
    This is the error message:

    Hi,
I am trying to run JSPs on OAS 4.0.8.1.
I have installed JSP patch, downloaded form olab.com
I am not able to execute JSPs. I am getting 2 different problems.
    1. If I call the JSP directly from browser, Netscape will ask for save option, it won't execute.
    2. If I call the JSP from another page with submit button, I am getting the following error :
The requested access method is not allowed for that object.
    Same error for any JSP.
The same problem for all the samples available with JSP patch.
    Hi chrholm,
I already tested for 1 month, so
could you please help me to configure OAS 4.0.8.1 for JSPs.
Could you please send me mail : [email protected]
    Any help appreciated.

  • Problems Running Java Programs

I usually use Forte for Java to run and compile my java programs, but now I am trying to compile and run using the command line. When I compile something it runs fine. However when I attempt to run something it gives me a NoClassDefFound Error. For example when I have this program in package greetings.

  • Problem running Java programs

    Hello,
Have recently re-formatted my hard drive and re-installed Windows XP. I have installed the 1.4.2_03 SDK and any Java program I run just shows a grey window, with the toolbar as usual on top. I have un-installed it and re-installed it, and even tried installing the 1.5.0 beta, but it still keeps happening. Even the Jav Control Panel just shows the grey window.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Or have any suggestions I may try?
    Thanks.

This is a fresh install of XP. But if I can't figure it out soon, I'll probably re-format and re-install again.

  • T530 has problems running several programs

Earlier this week, my internet browser (firefox) started running like something was hogging my memory and  I had installed a dozen toolbars installed. Neither of these occurred. While FF *does* tend to be a memory hog, it's not near what this system is capable of handling.
Every few minutes firefox will freeze up and 'Not Respond' for about five to ten seconds. Another application, yahoo messenger, has also stopped working completely. Other programs are afflicted, but not to this extent. Chrome, windows explorer (not internet exp. WINDOWS) will occasionally cough up if Firefox is panicking for some reason.
I've clean installed all the major afflicted programs, and have run my virus scanner, malwarebytes, and ccleaner.
Couple other things: 'Lenovo Communications Utility' no longer wants to work , and neither does the fingerprint scanner, and sometimes it takes entirely too long to recognize that I plugged in an external (if it ever does).

    Dear Ashish,
I've completed till the 4th step as below (available at this link <http://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Installation-and-Licensing/Vivado-License-Manager-will-not-allow-me-to-return-license/td-p/527697>:
    Now run the command: installanchorservice.exe xilinxd.exe Vivado-Software (from C:\Xilinx\Vivado\2014.3\bin\unwrapped\win64.o)
I mean after the above command I got the output as shown in the attachment.
But even after that I am not able to return the license to xilinx as nothing listed in that window.
    After this what to do?
    Regards
