Problem saving data model when using Oracle DB Pivot feature

I have problem saving a data model - SQL Query that uses the Oracle DB PIVOT feature?
When I hit save, nothing happends.... have also tried "save as" - nothing is saved
No error message is shown.
Is Oracle DB PIVOT not supported by OBIEE?
The SQL that is causing the problem is this one:
SELECT * FROM
SELECT field_name as field,
CASE
WHEN col_1 = 'A' THEN 'Name 1'
WHEN col_1 like 'B_%' THEN 'Name 2'
END
as gastype,
energy
FROM table_1
WHERE code = 'K'
AND trunc(DAYTIME,'YYYY') = trunc(to_date('2012-01-01 00:00:00','YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'), 'YYYY')
AND (col_1 in ('A') or col_1 like 'B_%')
PIVOT (sum(energy) for (gastype) in ('Name 1' as Name1, 'Name 2' as Name2))
order by field
We are using OBIEE 11.1.1.6.7 (Win 2008R2) against Oracle DB 11.2.0.3

Just a wild guess .. Have you done dbsetup after installing IAS and said you are going to said databases ?

  • Problem with data integration when using KCLJ

    Hello,
For a project, I had to integrate a new field using transaction KCLJ.
For this I extented the DDIC structure of the sender structure, and after that, I updated the corresponding transfer rules.
When I execute transaction KCLJ I have no error, and table BUT000 is updated with the data of the flat file.
The problem is that erase also 6 BUT000's fields; they're not in the sender structure and so, have no transfer rules.
    Could you help me ?

    Hi
    Please read this.
    External Data Transfer
These activities are not relevant if you use a CRM/EBP system.
In the following activities you make definitions for transfer of business partner data or business partner relationship data from an external system to a SAP System.
Data transfer takes place in several stages:
    1. Relevant data is read from the external system and placed in a sequential file by the data selection program. The data structure of the file is defined in the sender structure.
This procedure takes place outside of the SAP environment and is not supported by SAP programs. For this reason, data changes can be made at this point by the data selection program.
    2. The sequential file is stored on an application server or a presentation server.
    3. The SAP transfer program reads data from the file and places this in the sender structure. This does not change the data. This step is carried out internally by the system and does not affect the user.
    4. Following transfer rules that have to be defined, the transfer program takes the data from the sender structure and places it in the receiver structure. During this step you can change or convert data.
The receiver structure is firmly defined in the SAP system. Assignment of the sender structure to the transfer program, and of the transfer program to the receiver structure is made using a defined transfer category.
    5. The data records in the receiver structure are processed one after the other and, if they do not contain any errors, they are saved in the database.
Before you transfer external data for the first time, make the following determinations:
The structure of the data in the external system may not match the structure expected by the SAP system. You may have to supplement data.
There are two ways in which you can adapt the structure:
You make the required conversions and enhancements within the data selection program prior to beginning the transfer to the SAP system. This will be the most practical solution in most cases since you have the most freedom at this point.
You do the conversion using a specially developed transfer program and transfer rules.
You then define the fields of the sender structure. The system offers you the option of automatically generating a sender structure that is compatible with the receiver structure.
You define transfer rules to create rules according to which the fields of the sender structure are linked with those of the receiver structure.
You now carry out the transfer.
SAP Enhancements for External Data Transfer
The following SAP enhancements are offered in the following areas of External Data Transfer:
Four Customer Exits exist for the data transfer or for the conversion from IDOC segments. The Exits are contained in the enhancement KKCD0001. As soon as the Customer Exits are activated, they are carried out for all sender structures or segments. The first two Customer Exits require minimal coding once they are activated. The sender structure concept is used when loading data into the SAP-System. The concept Segment is used in the context of the distribution of the SAP-System. It is a matter of a record of data to be transferred or converted. It is recommendable to code a CASE -instruction within the Customer Exit, where (differentiated according to sender structure (REPID) or segment) various coding is accessed. In the parameter REPID, the name of the segment for the conversion from IDOC segments. The parameter GRPID is not filled out with the conversion from IDOC segments. You should have a WHEN OTHERS branch within the CASE instruction, in which the 'SENDER_SET' is allocated to the 'SENDER_SET_NEW' or the 'RECEIVER_SET' to the 'RECEIVER_SET_NEW'. Utherwise the return code will have its initial value. You can view a possible solution in Code sample.
The first Customer Exit is accessed before the summarizing or conversion. It is called up as follows:
CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '001'      EXPORTING            GRPID          = GRPID       "Origin            REPID          = REPID       "Sender program           SENDER_SET     = SENDER_SET  "Sender record      IMPORTING           SENDER_SET_NEW = SENDER_SET  "modified sender record            SUBRC          = SUBRC.      "Returncode
If the variable 'SUBRC' is initial, the modified record is edited further or else passed over. The import parameter 'SENDER_SET_NEW ' must be filled out in the Customer Exit, as only this field and not the field 'SENDER_SET is further edited. This also especially means that you must allocate the import parameter 'SENDER_SET_NEW' the value of 'SENDER_SET' for records, for which no special handling will be carried out otherwise.
The second Customer Exit is accessed after the summarization and before the update:
CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '002'   EXPORTING     REPID            = REPID           "Senderprogramm     GRPID            = GRPID           "Herkunft     RECEIVER_SET     = RECEIVER_SET    "verdichteter Satz   IMPORTING     RECEIVER_SET_NEW = RECEIVER_SET    "modifizierter verdichteter Satz     SUBRC            = SUBRC.          "Returncode
The modified record is only updated if the variable 'SUBRC'
    is initial.
The import parameter 'RECEIVER_SET_NEW' must be filled out in the Customer Exit, since only this field and not the field 'RECEIVER_SET _NEW' is updated.
The third Customer Exit is used for replacing variables. It is called up when you load the transfer rules.
      CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '003'     EXPORTING       REPID = REPID       GRPID = GRPID       VARIA = VARIA       RFELD = RFELD       VARTP = VARTP     CHANGING       KEYID = KEYID     EXCEPTIONS       VARIABLE_ERROR = 1.
The parameters REPID and GRPID are supplied with the sender structure and the origin. The variable name is in the field VARIA. The name of the receiver field is in the parameterRFELD. Field VARTP contains the variable type. Valid types are fixed values of the domain KCD_VARTYP. You transfer the variable values in the parameter KEYID. If an error occurs you use the exception VARIABLE_ERROR.
the fourth Customer Exit is required in EC-EIS only. It is called up after the summarization and before the determination of key figures. It is a necessary enhancement to the second Customer Exit. This is because changes to the keys are considered before the database is checked to see if records exist for the keys.
The function is called up as follows:
    CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '004' CHANGING    RECEIVER_SET = R    SUBRC = UE_SUBRC.
The parameter RECEIVER_SET contains the receiver record to be changed. The parameter RECEIVER_SET is a changing parameter. No changes must be made to the function module if it is not used.
The User-Exits can be found in the Module pool 'SAPFKCIM'. If you want to use the Customer Exits, you can create a project and activate the Customer Exits with the transaction 'CMOD'. The enhancement which you must use with it is KKCD0001.
Note that when programming customer exits, that these will also run if corrected data records are imported into the datapool within the context of post processing for both test and real runs.
I will provide some pointers soon. Give me some time.
    Hope this will help.
    Please reward suitable points.

  • Problem with path length when using oracle drive

    Hello!
Does anybody else experience this problem with Oracle Drive?
When I create a deep or nested hierarchy in which the path length is longer than 250 (the limit might be 255) characters, I cannot access the deeper subpages.
Example:"X:\INET\START1\pfadlaengentest\das istein langer ordnername mit etwa 50 zeichen\and this is another veryveryvery long\and this is another veryveryvery lon2\and this is another veryveryvery lon3\and this is another veryveryvery lon4\and this is another veryveryvery lon5".
I can access the page "and this is another veryveryvery lon4" but not "and this is another veryveryvery lon5"
Is this problem due to WebDAV?
What can I do - I think it is a critical error / bug?
    Regards Joerg.

I opened a service request and oracle support could help me.
The problem is the windows file system: the path length cannot be longer than 256 chars.
    There's a workaround with MS-Webfolders.

  • Problem saving a report when using rpad in query for fixed-width

    Hi There,
I'm using 9.0.4 and trying to make and save a report that will eventually produce a fixed-width text output (as opposed to delimited).
I keep getting: REP-1051 Unable to save document to file mypath/filename
REP-1070 Error while opening or saving a document - Non-specific file error occurred.
My sql query is a large string that RPADs everything and concatenates into one very long string (about 600 characters). The report runs fine while I'm working on it, but I can't save it. I finally pared the query down to a small fraction of what I need, and it did save, but as soon as I started adding back to the query, it failed again.
Does anyone know how to work around this? I don't have any flexibility with my version of Reports, as the client will not update their version.
    TIA, J

    Hi Ronan,
You can use the parameter WRAPPING to adjust the height of the header lines. Please have a look at note 1292696 which explains how to.

I`d like to get current date and time using oracle.jbo.domain.Date method getCurrentDate(), but it always return current date and 12:00:00. I also need to get the current time.

I think you should use java.sql.Timestamp domain.

  • Can we set the dynamic data source when using getReportParameters() ?

    Hello!
I have a report where one of its parameters refers to a list of values (LOVs). This list of values is an SQL Query type. When the data source used in the report is defined in the BI Publisher server, I'm able to get the report parameters using the getReportParameters() function in my application. However, if the data source is not defined the function throws an exception, which is understandable.
I decided to dynamically set the data source so that even if the data source used by the report is not defined in the BI Publisher server, it still will be able to get the LOVs for the parameter. I tried setting the JDBCDataSource of the dynamicDataSource for the ReportRequest object that I passed to the getReportParameters() function. Please see the sample code below:
    reportRequest.dynamicDataSource = new BIP10.BIPDataSource();
    reportRequest.dynamicDataSource.JDBCDataSource = new BIP10.JDBCDataSource();
setReportDataSource(reportRequest.dynamicDataSource.JDBCDataSource, connectstr, jdbc, dc); //function to set the values for JDBCDataSource object
reportParams = webrs.getReportParameters(reportRequest, uid, pwd); //call the getReportParameters
I was expecting this to work as this is what I did to dynamically set the data source before calling the runReport function. So, my question is -- can we set the dynamic data source when using getReportParameters() ? I tried this both in versions 10g and 11g. It does not seem to work on both versions.
    Regards,
    Stephanie

report_id column of apex_application_page_ir_rpt can help us uniquely identify each saved report.
We can assign this report_id value to a page item and this page item can be put in the Report ID Item text box of the Advanced section of the Report Attributes page of the IR.
This should load the saved report identified by report_id and you can get rid of javascript

I'm trying to migrate a Sql Server 2k database to an Oracle 8i schema using OMWB. After using BCP to collect metadata information on the source database, I tried to capture the source data model and got a "Capture aborted" message on the progress screen (even though then it appears a dialog window reporting "0 errors and 0 warnings", funny!). • How to totally turn off data traffic when using ma...

    Nokia N8-00:
I only use the integrated gps and have turned off the assisted gps, net based gps and Wi-Fi/Network but when accessing maps it still generates data traffic.
Normally this is´nt a problem but when traveling abroad data traffic costs a small fortune.
In my old N95 when I downloaded offline maps and turned everything but integrated gps off there was no data traffic at all but even after the latest maps updates (i.e. yesterday) it appears that the maps still needs downloading when accessed...
Any suggestions how to completely avoid data traffic when using maps?

Set all destinations to always ask and select no whenever the phone gives you a request, set Maps to offline, and set location to just use intergrated GPS. By the way, just been to Portugal using Vodafone and data charges only about £5 for week, and they've just improved allowances, may be worth checking your service providers web site and see if it's necessary to bother about data roaming, they all tend to follow each other, and Data roaming charges in europe seem to be coming down !

  • Problem changing default key bindings using Oracle Terminal

    Hello,
I'm facing a problem changing default key bindings using Oracle Terminal. I changed
some bindings, saved them in forms60/fmrusw.res, started the generation and saved again.
I thought that's it but it wasn't. It took no effect at all in Forms (even after recompilation) although reopening the file in Terminal showed the changes. I'm using Forms in German, which means that even the key bindings displayed in Forms are translated i.e. STRG+F1 instead if CTRL+F1,
but I can't find a german version of this resource file, so i think it's the same resource file for all supported languages. But what is needed for the changes to take effect ?
    Thanks in advance
    STD

    Hi,
is it client/server you are working?
if so you should not be using the fmrusw.res file because I guess your NLS_LANG is German_Germany.WE8ISO8859P1 or something like that. This means the terminal that is being opened is fmrdw.res instead of fmrusw.res and this file should be edited using Oracle Terminal.
if you are working via the web implementation than you can open the file fmrweb.res in a text editor and change the keybindings in there. If you need to have the PC like key bindings on the web just open the fmrpcweb.res and see if it contains the German texts. If so you can either copy this file over the frmweb.res file or you can specify term=fmrpcweb.res in the serverargs parameter.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can SQL Dev Data Modeler be used to reverse engineer Windchill PDMLink

Does anyone know if SQL Developer Data Modeler be used to reverse engineer Windchill PDMLink Oracle database? I need to get the DDL and ERDs from Windchill PDMLink.
Can SQL Developer Data Modeler be used to reverse engineer object oriented Oracle databases?

SQL Developer Data Modeler be used to reverse engineer Windchill PDMLink Oracle databaseprobably you mean Windchill PDMLink tables in Oracle database - yes, it's possible to get the structure of tables.
Can SQL Developer Data Modeler be used to reverse engineer object oriented Oracle databases? It's not clear for me - you can reverse engineer definition of object and collection types, definitions of tables and views including those that use object and collection types in their definition.
    You can try it.

I know why U get empty data.
In Program U should follow the rules:
U'd better data a variant typed the function parameters's type.
    for example:
in your program the parameter: stlal  = '1'
    U'd better like follow:
    Data l_stlal type STKO-STLAL
    l_stlal = '01'.  *Attention: '1' <> '01'.
    stlal  = l_stlal.
in this way U may have less mistake
    and the parameter MTNRV
U should use material convernt : "CONVERSION_EXIT_MATN1_INPUT" to change material into internal types before U put into function's parameter.
why se37 has no problem? because In se37, the data you filled was be processed before use

  • Capturing error messages from Oracle EBS APIs when using Oracle Apps Adapter

We are using Oracle applications adapter to call Oracle EBS (both R11.5 and R12) APIs. I want to understand the best practice around error handling when using Oracle Apps Adapter to call Oracle EBS.
    Here are some observations:
    1. Most of the APIs return X_RETURN_STATUS and X_MSG_DATA containing the status and messages if any.
    2. If the MSG COUNT is 1 then X_MSG_DATA contains the message, if MSG COUNT is > 1. X_MSG_DATA is empty.
We know that when calling the API directly from PL/SQL, we need to loop through FND_MSG_PUB to fetch all messages when there are more than 1. How do we achieve the same using Apps Adapter as Apps Adapter generates the PL/SQL block to call the API dynamically at runtime.
In some APIs, which have table/rec types as input or output parameters, Apps Adapter generates a wrapper package to do conversion from SQL--> PL/SQL and viceversa. In this case the adapter calls the custom package generated which internally calls the API. For these APIs we were able to put the logic to loop through FND_MSG_PUB and return a concatenated string as value of X_MSG_DATA.
But what should we do for the APIs which do NOT have a rec/table type as input or output, in which case the Apps Adapter directly calls the API and there is no intermediate custom package?
    How are others handling this?

  • Problems w/ race conditions when using attachmovie

    Hello,

I have a class linked to a movie clip that I'm attaching to the stage.   The class is
