Problem saving .flv from streamed video

I am streaming live video over a website using cs4 Flash Media Live Encoder....
Video
VP6, 29.97fps, 320x240 input size, 200 to 500 kbps
Audio
MP3, stereo, 22 050, 64bit
I am using the Flash Media Live Encoder to save the video to a .flv file to upload to the website for later viewing. Although the saved .flv video is of equal quality of the streamed video, the audio quality sucks beyond belief.
I sounds great through the speakers at the event, it sounds great streamed over the internet but when I play the saved file the quiality, varies from almost unusable, to scratched noisy and totally unusable. I noticed that the quality is very average at low volume but if the volume is increased it sounds terrible.
Does anyone have any idea of what I can do with this? Am I doing somethign wrong? Can I adjust the settings to improve the quality? Is there another option to stream and save?
Thanks in advance

Are you getting this problem when you play the file on local system but in Subscribed stream at Flash player end?
This is really strange because if FMLE is causing any problem then this should be common for both Locally saved file and stream to FMS.
Which player are you using to play this file?
Can you try playing this file on some other system. This is really strange

When I attempt to watch streamed video < cbc website: http://www.cbc.ca/murdochmysteries/episodes/season-7/midnight-train-to-kingston > for example.
A drop-down shows up in the middle of the screen and I cannot get rid of it.

Local Settings - request to store up to 10 KB
If I right clock, a second box appears for Local Settings. This box I am familiar with... the problem is that I cannot effect any adjustments.
This is a new development and very annoying. It only happens in the two User Accounts, but not in the Administrator Account.

The easiest way to deal with this is to avoid having the dialog pop-up.
Go to Control Panel > Flash Player > Storage > Allow sites to save information on this computer.

  • .flv not streaming video after FMS 2 install

We were previously running Flash Communications server 1.5,
and have installed FMS 2.0. We copied over our stream files with
the same folder structure, but when the .flv file is streamed, the
audio plays (and the connectios show up in the administraton
console), but the video (from the same file) does not show up.
    Any help would be apprecieated.

  • Quicktime does not allow to change video position from streamed video

I just wanted to watch the newest Apple event stream. For many ears I have watched them typically from Mac as they works from there perfectly.
Now I installed quicktime for Windows (without iTunes) and I watched 34 minutes from the event. Then suddenly the sound went off from the quicktime. I tought the system sound went and I checked the volume and other player and they worked fine.
Then I tought it was about streaming problem and I allowed it to continue to 39 minutes. Then I tought I could scroll backward to position where the sound went off. But I couldn't at all. I can drag the position slider somewhere, but it always jump back to the place where it is streaming. When I stop mouse, it jumps back to current position. So if I keep mouse cursor moving and dragging same time the slider, it moves.
Neither I can not start a video (any video, was they a trailers or Apple event videos) and jump to the known position to continue watching.
So to me if I would now like to watch the latest presentation, I should watch first 40 minutes again. As I am not allowed to rewind to wanted position.
I tried this on my laptop as well and I got exactly the same problem (the scrolling).
Is it really so that Windows Quicktime does not allow rewind/forward functions at all on quicktime videos?
Is there tweaks to get that possibility as I do not want to watch 40 minutes and be sharp when it comes so I can continue where I left and not miss the position and never could rewind back?

QuickTime Pro does not allow to make video capture from desktop - only from camera. How can i solve this problem?
Use the QT X.1 Player to capture desktop video. QT 7 Pro does not  and never has had this feature which was first introduced in the QT X.0 Player.

  • 2.2 update causes problems when fastforwarding through streamed videos

Has any else exprienced problems when trying to fast forward or skip to later sections of a large movie file (>1 gig) that is being streamed from a shared network folder? After the 2.2 update the file often not play after FFwarding but rather continuously tries to 'load' the file - the loading bar usually gets to about 99% but never to 100%. This problem was not existent for me with the 2.1 software.

After doing a factory re-install of ATV 2.1 software (from 2.2) the streaming worked just fine again with my mac mini and router. There are reasonable seek delays but not like in 2.2 where the delay is indefinite. My iTunes library is being streamed from a USB harddrive attached to my mac mini. My LAN setup is wired so the problems I am experiencing is not due to wifi lag.
All of my files that I am attempting to stream are large, single chapter videos. I doubt it is a chapter issue, however, as even fast forwarding hangs the video playback after a few seconds of seeking.

  • Problem saving pdf from preview

Since upgrading to 10.4.3 I have noticed that preview behaves strangely when re-saving pdf files. If I preview a pdf document and the use the "save" function to make a copy, the copied file is about twice the size of the original, and the Table of Contents data seems to be lost. I've noticed this for files produced from the TeX package, such as are on the physics electronic archives (http://arxiv/org). Any explanation would be appreciated! I realise that I could just save a copy directly, but it is sometimes handy to preview first, and I am a little disturbed to discover that preview appears to be changing pdf files unnecessarily when saving them.
    12" powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I can't help you, but I'm having the same problem with version 9.4.1
I have been trying to "save as" some .pdf documents (monthly statements) from a financial institution, but it does not work when I right click on the file, or when I right click on the document.  Like you, I click on the "disc" icon, and nothing happens.  I was able to save these in August and prior, but not now.  It makes no sense.
When I open these documents, they appear in a web window, not in the Reader software, so there is no tool bar showing "file", "edit", "view", etc, like what appearsw in Acrobat.  I'm stumped.  I posted this several days before you, but no replies yet.  I'm not real eager to pay $39 for the adobe help desk just yet.

  • WRT54G ver 6. Buffering problems when viewing live streaming Video!

Whenever my computer is connected to the computer through linksys WRT54G router, Windows Media Player do a lot of buffering. (after every 10 seconds or so). But when I connect to the internet directly through the cable modem, I don't see any buffering and I can watch the video without any problem.
    Any advice!

I've tried most suggestions with no luck.  I've got a WRT54G v6 router with the 1.01.1 updated firmware.  Videos from MSNBC, CNN, CBS, etc... just don't want to run smoothly- and this is on a wired connection to the router.  All 3 computers hooked to router have this problem.  Choppy video or the video stops and the audio continues- or than everything pauses.  I have decent connect speeds- avg test is:
9.66Mbps or 1.20MBytes/sec... I switched back to my old Linksys wired router and the videos played fine-connections speeds were consistent as well.  I use the wireless access for a Wii. All computers are wired into the router.  I am figuring it MUST be the router since my old router makes the problem go away...but I need the wireless access on the WRT54G for my Wii.  I did not notice if this problem was there before I upgraded the firmware since I did the upgrade when I installed the new router.  Thanks for any advice.

  • Problem exporting flv from AE CS4

Hi, I havent been able to export a flv with alpha transpaerncy.
Here is my setup, I have a .mov in my composition, I apply the lumakey filter to remove the white background, the problem is cant export the flv with the transparency, yes I am using the On2VP6, but I cant select the RGB + Alpha option, and I cant select the Million Colors + option neither.
I am not sure what else to do, because I am new to AE, it used to be very easy in CS3
Any help will be much appreciated
    rS

What exact steps are you taking?
Don't use the File > Export menu.
You should be rendering and exporting using the render queue. Choose FLV as the format in the Output Module Settings dialog box, and then click the Format Options button. To include the alpha channel in the FLV output, use the On2 VP6 codec and select Encode Alpha Channel in the Video tab of the export settings dialog box.

  • Problem saving photo from email in IOS 7

I recently upgraded to IOS 7. On IOS 6 I was able to click on a photo in an email and "save photo" or "set as wallpaper". How do we do that in IOS 7?
I also am having trouble resizing a photo for background/wallpaper. How do we resize them for wallpaper?

    Hello ritaright,
Photos can be saved from an email by holding your finger on the photo, then choosing Save Image.

Regarding the setting of resizing your background image, it may be desirable to enable 'Reduce Motion.'

  • IOS 7: Problem saving photos from Safari

When I choose Save Image from an image in Safari (by holding down on the photo) the photo does not save and instead a photo I took weeks ago appears in my photo album as the thumbnail and when you open the image it's blank.

    Hello again,
Thank you for your reply. Following Iphoto - preferences - advanced, I have checked the box which says "Importing - copy items to photo library". However the problem is still occuring, whether I look for the photos in the album I created for them, or in the general library. When I try to open photos from copied from this source, even though they are displayed on the general album folder, when I click on the photo to enlarge it it comes up with this error message (as before) "The volume for P00404..etc.jpg cannot be found. Insert the disk or connect to the server volume and wait for it to appear on the desktop, then try again." the photos then disappear from the screen and I am left with a black triangle with the ! mark in it.
The memory stick does NOT come up in iPhoto (as it should between the Trash can and the Albums) - but I have been able to transfer things from the desktop or emails before with clicking and dragging.... I can't quite figure out why this shouldn't work now.
When I put the memory stick in again and try to look at the same photos, it starts flashing - so it must be referencing to the memory stick at this point?
I am relatively new to Macs, so I am sorry if these questions are a bit stupid - I haven't had any trouble til now.

  • Problems saving pictures from Facebook

I recently downloaded the IOS 6 onto my iphone 4. I now cannot save pictures from the Live feed on Facebook like I use too. I can save pictures from safari and take screen shots still though. My coworker has a iphone 4s and she does not seem to have that problem. Hopefully someone else is experiencing this problem and can help me out. I tried deleting FB app and reinstalling, but it still does not work. Thank you for your time.

I am having the same problem. Facebook asked me to allow access to my photos and I accidently declined it. Now I cannot change the settings anymore. I checked and there is no Photo option in the privacy settings. How did you guys manage to solve the problem? Thanks!

  • Problem saving attachments with longish filenames

We're having a problem saving attachments from Mail that are 25+ characters in length. ie. If we click on the "Save" attachment button in Mail, we get an alert that the file can't be saved because it's too long. We can drag the file to the desktop, but then can't move it without getting the "name is too long" alert. We have to change the name, deleting a bunch of characters. Using HFS+. Anyone have a solution?

When you drag the attachment to the desktop you should be able to click on the file's name then edit it so it's less then 25 characters. Try saving it again after deleting some characters.
We just switched from OS 9.4 to OS 10.4 (Intel) and found that Photoshop did not recognize any of the pics in our folders because we haven't been saving them with the file extension (i.e. jpeg, eps, etc.) We had to open all our pic files then add the extension. Apparently our old Macs could recognize a photo file but our new ones need the extension to be able to read the file. So if your file name is too long it's probably cutting off the extension - your computer won't let you save it until you make room for the file extension at the end.
    Hope this helps.

  • Stop streaming video?

    Hi all,
I hope I'm posting this in the correct form. I have Googled
this topic as well as searched through previous forum posts, but
have not found an answer to this question anywhere.
Here's what I'm trying to do:
I'm using CF8 for a site, and I am embedding a flv live
streaming video. The site will have 2 types of users, Paying users
and Non-Paying users. Both sets of users can view the flv streaming
video. For the non-paying users I want to be able to stop the live
video dynamically after n-number of minutes, and then give them a
prompt on screen "Please sign up now to continue watching the
stream.". Can this be accomplished with Flash? If so, do you have
any examples or can you explain how to do this in Flash?
    Thanks

both the netstream class and the flvplayback component have
pause() methods that will stop the video streaming.

  • Problem with switching between two flv streaming videos

Hi! I´m going nuts!!! I have 2 flv streaming videos in the timeline. The flv playback containers are in diferent frames that you can acces with two buttons. Once I switch from the first video to the second.. when I return to the first one it won´t show up (it goes to the frame I told but video doesn´t charge) and from that position can´t go to the second. (It works ok locally).
This is the page: www.spyltd.com.ar   you have to go to MEDIA button.
Thank you very mucho for your help and excuse my english!

I get this error when I make the swf: Error opening URL 'file:///D|/Trabajos/SPY/flash/whatever_pb.source="DiiaSkate.flv?nocache="+Math.random(); '   locally. In the web doesn´t load anything.
Besides that I´ve tried puting the complete route to the server in the contentPath and tested it locally... the page loads ok but when I go to the second video and try to get back to the first one. I get this error:  Error opening URL 'http://www.spyltd.com.ar/DiiaSkate.flv'
Also I´ve tried calling "whatever" to the flv playback instance name becouse didn´t know what that command means. Doesn´t work neither.

  • Embed streaming video from my own Server into InDesign CS5

    Hi all,
I try to place a streaming video into my Indesign CS5 Document. InDesing seems to find the File, cause it shwos up the preview image in the Media Window, but the videoslider nor the play-button of the media-window is working.
    the link (Red5 Streaming Server):
    rtmp://87.230.53.80/oflaDemo/personaltv/bewerbermagazin/wuerzburg/test/video.flv
When I export it as an interactive PDF, and I click on the videoframe, it first shows the security dialog as expected, but after that it is only the empty player and the progressbar looks like it can not connect to the streaming server.
    Is there a workaround?
Thanks in Advance for any hint!
P.S.: If I load it from my webserver via http:// ... it works great.

I think this isn't really an InDesign issue at all. It sounds like an Acrobat issue.
First, you haven't said what version of Acrobat you're using. I'm assuming Acrobat X Pro?
I've used this with a friend's Flash Media Server so I know it works. What version of Flash server do you have installed?
I the link you provide I see a spaceband after the word "test" in the path. Could that be a problem?
Other than that, it appears that you're following the requirements listed in the Help file for Acrobat X Pro.
If you have further problems, you might post this on the Acrobat User Forum.
