Problem sending email with Yahoo ISP

All of a sudden today could not send emails (receive emails OK) on all 3 computers on two different sub accounts using the old flash.net ISP (Yahoo). I'm using Apple Mail 2.1. Called Yahoo and had to change the outgoing mail server from mail.flash.net to smtp.sbcglobal.net and all 3 computers were able to send mail again.
Interestingly tried it on Entourage and didn't work. smtp.flash.yahoo.com worked for send email with Entourage. Didn't know the outgoing mail server was application dependent. Thought maybe this information would save sombody a call to yahoo. Terry

Interesting.
A mail server is a mail server, is a mail server.
Usually, the SMTP server config will either work or it won't.
Interesting that your Mail.app needs one config, and entourage another.
I'll bet entourage will need to have the new config soon, or there was something else borked on your Mail.app config.

  • HT1430 Anyone having problems sending email with yahoo?

Is anyone having problems with yahoo mail?  I can receive messages but haven't been able to send one for the last several hours.

Yahoo has had a randomly persistent issue for weeks. I went through two separate times of being unable to access one of my accounts. It usually cleared up in 24 hours or so. (Suggesting it's their servers that are creating the issue)
Have you tried to delete then readd the account?

  • Problems sending emails with iPhone 3G and outlook exchange

I have a problem sending email with exchange. Receiving and answering mail works fine and calender updates work fine. However when I initiate an email from the phone it syncs and ends up in the sent folder in the computer but never reaches the recipient. I have tried this many times with different recipients and phones. It only happens from my iphone and ipad. Any suggestions?
    Any help much appreciated

The iPhone you returned is still syncing against your server and locking out your account. Someone possibly has access to your mail data. I'd recommend having your Exchange Administrator install the Microsoft Exchange Server ActiveSync Web Administration Tool (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E6851D23-D145-4DBF-A2CC -E0B4C6301453&displaylang=en) and attempt to wipe/delete/block that other iPhone.

  • Problem sending email with attachment by android

    Good Morning, I'm Luca.
    I have this problem:
through a smartphone with Android system,
    synchronized via ActiveSync, the user
is unable to send emails with attachments.
While you can receive them and
    open them without problem.
We have a server with Exchange 2010.
Is there any authorization that I have to give
    you?
Other devices, always with Android system,
    with other accounts of course,
does not have the same problem.
    Thank you very much
    Best regards

Luca, if one user is able to send attachments, the other should be able to as well.  However, if an attachment is too large, it won't be delivered.
Agreed, This does sound like a size limitation issue.
Have the person try to send the same file from his outlook on his PC and see if he can send it out, that should be a good indication.

  • Problem sending emails with gmail on iPhone

Everytime I send email with gmail on my iPhone. The message doesn't show up in the folder sent messages (only on the server). This never happens with my iCloud account or when I send email from Mail in osx. Does anyone have a solution for this?

  • Problem sending emails with Mac Mail 1.3.11

Desperately in need of help. I'm able to receive but not send email using Mac Mail. I keep getting an error message:
"This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server"
I have already tried the following at the advice of AppleCare reps:-
Have verified & repaired disk utilities & keychains
    Have reinstalled the operating system
    Have trashed the mail.plist file
    Have trashed the outbox.mbox file
Getting quite frustrated now because we have a mac bookpro with identical mail settings and it is able to send and receive mail without any problems.Could it be the version of Mail I'm running ?
I initially thought that the problem related to having switched to a new ISP but the fact that one of the mac's has no problem has led me to be less convinced of that idea.
    Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
    Many thanks

I am having the same problem exactly. I can read e-mail, but get the same error message trying to send it. I can't use .Mac anymore--have to use alternate e-mail for the last month--since some time in October 2006.
I haven't changed anything on my G4, haven't upgraded anything, and the problem started about the time .Mac reported some customers were unable to use Mail for a couple of days in October.
I see nobody answered your post. Did you ever get your mail to work? I have repaired permissions, but I don't think it has anything to do with that.
    Thanks,

  • Problems sending email with attachments

This is a long story.  We use a satellite connection at home and in our motorhome most of the time.  We use our air card (USB 760) for special needs and when we are travelling without our motorhome.
The past two weekends I have had to use the aircard.  During that use I prepared some email with various sized attachments (max 1.2 meg).  On the first weekend the email with attachments would not send (Eudora/POP3/Godaddy).  Then I tried a different ISP I have to use for a special assignment (Eudora/POP3/Bellweather.net) and it went through.
When I got back to the house, I contacted Godaddy and they did not find anything in their system that would cause a problem.  During the testing with them, the email with attachments went through just fine (on satellite).  I laid it off to a Godaddy problem.
This past weekend, I prepared another email with a small attachment and it would not send via either ISP.  Then I connected to the motel wireless and it went just fine via Godaddy.
So, all of the testing points to a problem with my Verizon connection.  I have checked and I have the latest software.  The Verizon tech folks have evelated it to see if they can figure out what is going on.
Anyone else have the same problem?  Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

Message attachments are allowed in Hosted VZEmail Services using your USB 760 air card. However, to enhance security some attachment types will be blocked and cannot be sent.
The blocked attachment types include, but are not limited to, the following:

    .bat
    .pif
    .msi
    .vbs

  • IPhone 5 no longer receive emails, but can still send emails with yahoo email account. Any ideas to fix?

iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.2 stopped receiving mail yesterday. Have yahoo email account. Can still send emails. Have turned device off/on. Have done the dual off/on thing using top button and menu button.   Issue seems to be only with main inbox, as sub folders are receiving mail. Other Apple device is not having issues like this, just on iPhone.

Your issue is with the Yahoo email account which is notoriously bad.
you can try deleting and reinstalling the email account.
If that doesn't fix it try the yahoo email app.

  • Cannot send email with Yahoo! on iPhone

Since last evening (3rd May), I've been having intermittent issues sending email through my Yahoo! mail account. Common symptoms include a pop-up window stating:
    Cannot Send Mail
The connection to the outgoing server "apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" failed. Additional Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Typically, this is followed by the message being place in the Outbox.
Sometimes, the message actually does go out when the iPhone says that is could not send the message.
At others, after a very long period of time, the "swoosh" sound tells me that a message was sent.
This is a new symptom and I have not changed my mail settings at all. I have tried deleting my mail account and re-adding the same, but no help. I've tried sending email from another iPhone, same issue. I've also verified that this is not isolated to my account, since my wife was complaining about the same symptom on her phone using her Yahoo! email account.
Thanks in advance for any advise/help!
    Kersi

Partially. Apple support recommended that I enable "push" for this account. This fixed the problemvery nicely, but it was a HUGE hog on the device battery! I've since then disabled the "push" option for my account and Yahoo! mail seems to be still OK, although it does seem to take a little longer than expected to send even small emails.

  • Problems sending email with any attachment

First off, I do have the latest firmware and I am using a BES.
Normal emails without an attachment, no problem. As soon as I attach anything, even very small attachements - it simply will not send. The only option is to abandon the email. Save does nothing, Send does nothing - so the only option is the Discard.
    Anyone know of a solution?

First step would be to contact your BES admin and ensure that there are no restrictions on sending email attachments.  If there isn't, they may want to check other settings on your account to see if anything might be conflicting.
    Good luck!

  • HT1349 problem sending emails with iphone 4s

Trouble sending emails can get them but not send.

Settings - mail, contact, calendar, select the account- then account again - you see info for incoming mail server and below that you should see one for outgoing, click on that and enter the password, same as your incoming password.

I will try to keep this short.  I downloaded an app on one of my attorneys Curve 8330.  It is called Dataworx and lets her dictate then email the file to her secretary to convert and transcribe.  I can get a regular email to go through but when I try to send the one with the dictation it doesnt go and I get a message in the "sent using" section that says "unknown (secure)" and then under Message status it says "unable to find specified service"  When I use the same app on my Blackberry Storm I can dictate and email the file with no problem and open the attachment.  Can anyone help me.  I am a bit blackberry illiterate.  Thank you.
UPDATE - the emails are finally coming to the intended recipient but there are no attachments on them.  Not even anything on our firewall saying they were removed.  very frustrating.
We use an in house Microsoft Exchange server for our email and don't have Blackberry Enterprise or Blackberry Internet.

  • I have problems sending email with attachment which are larger. What could be the problem?

I can't send larger email form my home wireless system but it works well when I am at work and use their wireless system, so I assume it is a setting in my home wifi account or a problem with accessing the mail server remotely. What  shouldI do, as it is annoying.....

Is that my Internet provider?? Thanks and sorry for the stupid question....

  • Sending emails with attachments through outlook 2003

    Hello,
I have recently switch from cablevison to Fios. With Cablevison, I never had a problem with email. However, now I am having problems sending emails with attachments using outlook 2003. I have called Verizon and we troubleshooted the problem and they feel this is a Microsoft problem.
I can send email's without attachments through outlook and verizon.net, but I can't send emails with attachments through outlook, I can send them though verizon.net.  All my settings are correct for sending and receiving email.
I called Microsoft and they say it a Verizon problem...
HELP, does anyone have a solution?????
    Thanks

Which antivirus software do you run on your computer? Are there any errors posting?  Have you shut off any email firewalls temporarily to attempt to isolate your issue?  Do you have outlook 2003 on more than 1 pc in your home?  Have your tried to attach a small text file and send it to see if that goes thru successfully?
