Problem sending email

I fail to send email with the error message "This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered. Sending the message content to the server failed." No problem in receiving emails and the Connection Doctor tool indicates no problem in connecting to the internet. Any help will be appreciated.

There's a myriad of possibilities here. If the connection doctor checks out, and you're able to send other emails then there's something about this particular email that's causing the problem - it could be some kind of spam filter running on the server that is rejecting the message because of the recipient address, the content of the message, an attachment, etc.

  • Problems sending emails with iPhone 3G and outlook exchange

I have a problem sending email with exchange. Receiving and answering mail works fine and calender updates work fine. However when I initiate an email from the phone it syncs and ends up in the sent folder in the computer but never reaches the recipient. I have tried this many times with different recipients and phones. It only happens from my iphone and ipad. Any suggestions?
    Any help much appreciated

The iPhone you returned is still syncing against your server and locking out your account. Someone possibly has access to your mail data. I'd recommend having your Exchange Administrator install the Microsoft Exchange Server ActiveSync Web Administration Tool (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E6851D23-D145-4DBF-A2CC -E0B4C6301453&displaylang=en) and attempt to wipe/delete/block that other iPhone.

  • Problem sending emails out...

Problem sending emails when saved first as a draft. When I go to send the final draft, it disappears, including the draft. Very upsetting, happened many times but not consistently...
    Help please, any ideas?

I can’t edit emails saved in drafts for both email accounts that I have. Double tapping on the email in the left hand list does nothing. Doubling tapping on the email gives me options to copy or define. Tried resetting the by holding the home and power keys down until the apple appears but nothing. Without this function the ipad is pretty pointless. Is my device faulty? Any help appreciated.

  • TS3899 Problems sending email from hotmail addresses in iPad Mail

    Hi
I am having problems sending email from my hotmail addresses (live.com) in the Mail program on my iPad.  I get a message that says "An error occurred while sending this message".  Tis morning the program worked perfectly.  Now, not so much!
I have turned my iPad off and on.  I have deleted and reinstalled the mail accounts.  Neither strategy helped.
I have no problems with my gmail address.  I can send mail if I log on to the hotmail website in Safari.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I would like to find a way to only have the gmail inbox but still send from any three of her accounts.
You can do it this way:
Set up only one account. The one from which you want to receive mail.
In Mail > Preferences > Accounts > +gmail acct+ > Email Address insert the other email addresses, separating each with a comma and single space.
Only the GMail account will receive incoming Mail. However, when you want to send from another address, in the From dropdown menu toggle the address from which you wish to send mail.
You will, of course, delete the other accounts you have created to avoid getting incoming messages.

  • HT4864 Problems sending email via icloud

I am having problems sending email via my iCloud through Mail or Sparrow, I have checked the mail server settings and they are correct based on what is described on the Apple site.  Anyone else having this problem?

For some reason, iCloud smtp servers haven't been working well over the last couple weeks. I have experienced this twice, in as many weeks. Very frustrating as I send numerous emails on a daily basis via my iCloud account. If I login through the browser, the sending works fine, but via Mac Mail...no go. Very irritating to say the least. Apple, please fix this fluctuation problem.

  • Annoying problem sending email

We have 2 MacBooks. We have separate email accounts (several each). We both frequently get problems SENDING email. The account can vary.
The problem is that it says the server needs us to enter the password. This seems to be a bug, we've learned. If we hit "cancel" and go in the outbox, and open the email, and send it again, it always goes through immediately.
How can we stop from having to take all these additional steps to send email?

I too have had the exact same problem. I contacted godaddy and of course they said they don't resolve problems with third party clients. I have entered all the settings above, and as they show on the godaddy site, and as the 'helpful' support person sent me. None have worked. I have a hard time believing I have the only computer that doesn't connect to godaddy servers.
My pc works just fine, even a touch on the fast side with my godaddy mail, but Apple mail is only able to receive and not send. As for Mark's comment my mail takes almost 3 minutes before it times out. According to the connection doctor I connect to the server, password is accepted, but then it just seems to lollygag around doing nothing. If I have 'details' selected it shows me lots of 'PASS' and 'OK'.
    Any help appreciated.

  • Problem sending emails with Mac Mail 1.3.11

Desperately in need of help. I'm able to receive but not send email using Mac Mail. I keep getting an error message:
"This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server"
I have already tried the following at the advice of AppleCare reps:-
Have verified & repaired disk utilities & keychains
    Have reinstalled the operating system
    Have trashed the mail.plist file
    Have trashed the outbox.mbox file
Getting quite frustrated now because we have a mac bookpro with identical mail settings and it is able to send and receive mail without any problems.Could it be the version of Mail I'm running ?
I initially thought that the problem related to having switched to a new ISP but the fact that one of the mac's has no problem has led me to be less convinced of that idea.
    Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
    Many thanks

I am having the same problem exactly. I can read e-mail, but get the same error message trying to send it. I can't use .Mac anymore--have to use alternate e-mail for the last month--since some time in October 2006.
I haven't changed anything on my G4, haven't upgraded anything, and the problem started about the time .Mac reported some customers were unable to use Mail for a couple of days in October.
I see nobody answered your post. Did you ever get your mail to work? I have repaired permissions, but I don't think it has anything to do with that.

  • Problems sending email with any attachment

First off, I do have the latest firmware and I am using a BES.
Normal emails without an attachment, no problem. As soon as I attach anything, even very small attachements - it simply will not send. The only option is to abandon the email. Save does nothing, Send does nothing - so the only option is the Discard.
    Anyone know of a solution?

First step would be to contact your BES admin and ensure that there are no restrictions on sending email attachments.  If there isn't, they may want to check other settings on your account to see if anything might be conflicting.
    Good luck!

  • IPHONE: PROBLEM SENDING EMAILS IN/OUT OF HOME ISP'S NETWORK

    THE PROBLEM:
Some Home ISPs won't allow their users to use the same SMTP port when they are inside or outisde their Network to send an email of their ISP's domain
    ([email protected]).
This prevents the iPhone user from being able to send emails flawlessly when switching from/to his home ISP's Network (WiFi) and his Cellular Network.
    THE RESOLUTION:
Create a secondary SMTP server with a different port.
    → Goto: Settings
    → Mail Contacts Calendars
    → Select the account
    → Click the SMTP field
    → Click Add Server
→ Put the same info as the primary one, but change the port #.
    For instance, common SMTP ports include 25, 110, 465, 583, 587...
This information should be gained from your specific ISP.
In my case, SMTP port has to be 583 at home, connected to my WiFi, while it has to be 25 if I'm on my cell Network. If not, I can't send emails, user is rejected.
As the iPhone will first try the primary server, than the secondary if the first dosen't work, I had this idea to create this twin server, except for the port number.
Works great for me, hope it'll help a lot of people.
    eYe

    Tried that, but didn't work.
Called Applecare, couldn't figure it out.
Had this idea soon after going to bed.
    This idea just works...
    So, just thought I'd share...

  • Problem sending email to gmail address

My husband and I both have Blackberry Curve 8330.
Our daughter has a Samsung Exclaim.
We're all on the same account with Sprint.
When I try to send an email to my daughter's gmail address, the message does not go through.  I get a red X next to the message on my display.  (I use hotmail)
My husband can send emails to her address from his phone with no problem.
I can send emails to any other email address, including other gmail addresses.
Can anyone help me fix this problem?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!!
    I suggest the following steps:
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.

  • 'Mailbox in Use' message - problems sending emails...

    Hi folks.
I bought a new E71 at the weekend. Am very pleased with it apart from the fact that I can't send emails - whenever I try to do so I get a message saying 'Mailbox in use'. It then asks for my email user name and password, but when I fil these in it just keeps repeating the request. Everything else seems to work fine - including receiving and viewing emails. Can anyone please help?
    cheers
    Tony

I had the same problem and finally worked out a fix - the biggest problemm is that the "Mailbox in use" message is misleading - the problem seems to be with the settings for the outgoing server.
See my post here - I hope it helps others.

  • Problem sending email , I can only receive emails

I can receive email but I can not send email messages. I keep on getting the following ; can not send mail the recipient - lists the email address - was rejected by the server. How do I fix this problem?

Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
