Problem seting up AX bridge

I've followed the instructions posted by Tesserax on how to setup a network extension with two AX. One is working fine as the main WDS device however the other which I set up as the bridge does not work properly. After I do all of the configuration steps and hit update it justs blinks amber. The funny thing is that in Airport Utility it shows up Green. I don't know if this matters but the AX setup a Main is 802.11n (g compatible) and the Bridge is 802.11g. The Main is hooked up via modem to a PPoE connection. I've made sure tha both devices are on the same channel and both have the same security passwords.
Some other details which might matter:
When I open up the Airport icon it shows both devices listed by their network names.
When I open up Airport Utility it only finds the Main device.
I can get the bridge to appear by selecting it under the Airport icon. Airport Utility asks each time o grant access for the device to the keychain.
Any thoughts would be helpfull.

In a WDS configuration, all base stations must use the same:
SSID (Network name)
Channel
Wireless encryption type/level/password

  • Interface Problem Sync/Async (Open Bridge)

    Hello everyone,
we made the migration from PI 7 to PI 7.01 EHP1 SP7.
After this migration, the Sync interface with BPM (Opens Bridge), began to give trouble.
It turns out that the interface in SMQ2 stand still for a long time, and after some time, timeout error occurs.
In transaction SXMS_SAMON, I noticed that some processes are in timeout.
It seems the problem is that the interfaces are entering the SMQ2, in PI can not sue for any reason.
Has also altered the value of the parameter CHECK_FOR_MAX_SYNC_CALLS most did not.
Does anyone have any idea how we can solve this problem ?
    Thank you all.

  • Problem in A/S Bridge in BPM

Hello everyone, I have developed an A/S Bridge (SOAP Sync -> ccBPM) and when testing the WSNavigator sometimes works correctly and sometimes shows the error RemoteException: Read Time out in the WSNavigator. Viewing the Workflow Log I see the task S/A Bridge: Response to Synchronous Request appears in status In Process as seen in the following link http://www.freeimagehosting.net/ded5f
In the transaction SXMB_ADMIN ("Configure Integration Engine"), I configured the parameter CHECK_FOR_ASYNC_RESPONSE_TIMEOUT of the category SA_COMM with the value 120 seconds but has not solved the problem.
    Thanks.

  • Problem with thumbnails in Bridge CS4

I was having a problem with Adobe Bridge crashing on me when I was looking at a large amount of images - like all my 2011 images. I'd read online that I needed to purge my cache and delete my preferences by holding down the ctrl key when starting Bridge and choosing all three options to "reset preferences", "purge entire thumbnail cache" and "reset standard workspace".
I did this, but it really did not solve my problem. I'm still working on that. It did create a problem that all my raw files show up without thumbnails, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to regenerate these thumbnails. I've tried downloading the camera raw plugin and installing that again and it does not help.
My raw files are from a Pentax K100d and are pef files.
I went back to some old photos, in my 2010 folder.  When it first came up it showed the thumbnail for just a brief moment.  It then went blank and then up popped that stupid little flower icon that I seen when there is no thumbnail.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much for your response.
I am running 64 bit Vista. I have CS4 and found that the latest version of Camera Raw that I could install was version 5.7.  I found the install instructions on the Adobe site.  As it told me to do, I downloaded the zip file for version 5.7 and extracted.  I moved the Camera Raw.8bi file from the top directory into C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats and moved the Camera Raw.8bi file from the Win64 folder into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats.
Does this look right to you?
I can double-click on any of my raw "pef" files and I can edit them in Camera Raw, no problem.  I can also look at the "about Camera Raw" and see that it shows version 5.7.
    It just won't generate thumbnails.
This worked in the past.  What happened to mess things up is a long story.  I got a new camera, a Nikon D5100.  What I did not realize was that this camera was too new for CS4 to be able to recognize.  The updates that include this camera are only for CS5.  At some point after I got this camera and came home with a ton of vacation pictures - saved as Raw + Jpg (so I had a ton of photos) bridge started crashing.  I don't know if it was the size and or number of photos that I was trying to have visible in Bridge at one time or what.  I started Goggling what could be the problem.  I found one source say that I needed to reset the preferences and such and that I should start Bridge while holding the ctrl key and choose all three items to reset.  I did this and my thumbnails that were there for all my old photos shot with my Pentax k100d went away.  I just see a flower icon in their place.  I've not been able to get them back.  I have since moved all those big photo files to another folder and the crashing has stopped.  Now I just have the problem that I caused.
What bothers me is that I saw a post here in this forum that says to never use the "purge cache" option from the edit > preferences box in Bridge.  I can't find this post again.  I have done this also before I saw that.  I have also moved my cache to another location so that it had to create a new one. Still this does not work.  I've restarted Bridge, rebooted, "purged the cache for the selection" and "generate high quality thumbnail".  Nothing I've tried works.
Would reinstalling Bridge help?  Do I have to install all of Photoshop?  Do I have to uninstall first?

  • Are there problems converting from Adobe Bridge to Organizer?

    HI,
I've searched for information on this and haven't found anything so maybe there aren't any problems :} but...Murphy and I are good friends so I have to ask if there are problems.
I currnetly run Elements 8 on a MacBook and have about 2000 pictures in Bridge and some in Iphoto. I use bridge for pictures for web design and Iphoto for family stuff.  I 'help out' with the computer stuff at a cat shelter in town and they have just bought Elements 10 and run the PC version.  I am thinking of upgrading to 10 so I will be familiar with their version but am worried about converting from bridge to organizer. Are there any known problems?  Is there a tutorial some place about the conversion from bridge to organizer.
    Thanks for any ideas

You have no pictures in Bridge. Bridge is just a browser; it just shows the current state of any folder to which you point it, so that's no problem. If you really want to use organizer, it will pick up your metadata keywords when you import the photos. Photos from iphoto will be duplicated on import to the organizer (normally it just makes a dbase pointer to the existing photo) to avoid inadvertently writing into the iphoto library, which can corrupt it and cause loss of the photos it contains.
You will lose any stacks in bridge when you import the photos into organizer.

  • Problem importing keywords from bridge

I have a .mrw image that I use Bridge CS3 to add four keywords a,b,c,d. When I view them in Bridge it shows the four keywords checked. I looked at the XMP file with wordpad and see them there as well. When I import the xmp file under Lightroom only keywords a,b & c are shown. I looked at the .xmp file in the imported file location for light room and the d keyword is missing from it as well. I tried this using a .nef image from my nikon and it doesn't seem to have the problem
Has anyone seen this problem before? Any work around?

I've done some more investigation on the problem I've described above. In the xmp for the image I have a keyword written by bridge of "Sandy" with the upper case "S". In the lighroom keyword list I already had "sandy" with the "s" being lower case. The import of the "Sandy" keyword in the xmp file of my image failed. If I removed "sandy" or renamed it "Sandy" in the Lightroom list then "Sandy" imported fine. If I tried adding "Sandy" in addition to "sandy" in the lightroom list I got an error saying that the keyword existed and the add failed. From that test it appears that within Lightroom "Sandy" and "sandy" are the same keyword, but coming in on an import they aren't.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal?

  • Problems with Photoshop and Bridge in Yosemite

Since updating to Yosemite on my MacBook Pro, CS3 no longer works properly.
Instead of thumbnails, Bridge displays icons for Nikon NEF images. When I click on the icon, I’m told “Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file.”
When I attempt to open the image directly through Photoshop, I’m presented with a Photoshop Raw Options window asking me to describe the dimensions of the image. (I don’t know how to do anything other than guess at the size, and when the image opens, it looks like grey noise on an old TV screen.)
I’ve reinstalled CS3 but the problems remain.

I suppose you also updated the Adobe Camera Raw that came with it.
This is a bit involved, and I'm out of ideas.
Keep asking, but remember this a user-support forum, not Adobe support, although Adobe staff does visit on their own time.
You can also search Google and see if forums outside of Adobe have found a fix.

  • Problems with metadata in Bridge CS3

We have a couple of problems:
Problem 1: Every time images are rotated we are losing the embedded metadata?
When an image arrives from a photographer and shows an orientation of 90° in the camera exif metadata (as seen in Bridge) we have to rotate it (or just resave it in Photoshop) so that it appears the right way up. This causes it to lose its metadata.
Obviously if we do all the rotating BEFORE we input metadata then this isnt a huge problem.
However it is a problem if the images arrive with metadata that we would like to keep.
Problem 2 Weve noticed that Bridge doesnt always write metadata to a file across the server. Weve run tests to check this: we write metadata to a file using Bridge but when we open the image in Photoshop its not there. Is this a known fault?
Thank you very much for any help,
    Susannah

According problem 1: this is not normal behavior and you could try first to restart Bridge holding down option key to reset the preferences.
But if you experience this also on the server I don't know if this solutions works. And according to problem 2, you should open a case on Adobe support using the little contact button top right on this page, not many users (including me) of this forum are using a server or know a lot about of that workflow :-(
You could try a forum search also on the word server (Search for forum only works when you are on the mainpage with al the post for Bridge for some strange reason...)

  • Multiple Problems with PDF InDesign, Bridge, and Acrobat Reader

I create proof books with a blend of Adobe Bridge & InDesign.
Here is my work flow: I will BOLD the errors I am having and need help with.
Step 1.) I create contact sheets in Bridge and save them as PDF's
Problem with Bridge ( I have another posting for this thread as well under Bridge) I cannot save PDF's larger than 400ish photos at 300ppi (important for my printer) without it saving as a blank PDF. COMPLETELY EMTPY! So I have to split up my photos into groups of 400 or less photos then patch them back together.
Problem with Acrobat: If I patch those PDF’s back together with Adobe Acrobat (a suggestion from another person on here) they save great but I get an error when I try to import them in indesign. The error reading: ERROR. Cannot determine page count.
Please open the PDF file in Acrobat, do a “Save As…” and try again. (99)
Step 2.) I use a script (MultiPageImporter2.2.1.jsx) to import the PDF's into Indesign. (if saved as one pdf in acrobat I get the above error)
Problem With InDesign: I run this importer script in InDesign to create my books with a template I use from my printers. Well since I have to import multiple pdf with multiple pages ( because I can’t piece them together without the above error. Then I have this problem:
I place a pdf with 1-226 pages in. I start this on page 1.
I place the next pdf with 1-141 pages in. I start this on page 227.
An error pops up that says I MUST start my import on page 226!!!!!!!!!! I don’t want to import on page 226 because I have two photos on that page!
I tried it several ways and no matter what I loose my last page of my first import.
PLEASE someone help me! I feel like I might be doing something really silly but I’ve spent 7.5 hours today working on this books with error after error.
I have done all the updates on my computers and nothing works. I use two macs and both have the same errors. I have a mac-book Pro | snow leopard and a Imac | snow leopard.
    Thanks much!

All your problems seem to stem from the PDFs that you are making from Bridge.  What you are describing should be perfectly possible, but the fact that Bridge doesn't want to make a PDF with more than 400 photos and it all goes downhill from there makes me suspect Bridge.
Here's a plugin that may help?  Looks pretty cheap for what it does.
Apart from that I'd try to clean up the PDFs that Bridge is producing if Indesign doesn't like them.  One way would be to print to a new PDF, after you've combined them as necessary.
As to the last pronlem you mention, where it forces you to place on page 226, have you tried creating a blank page 227 first, before you try placing?

  • Problems with s/a bridge

    Hi,
We have developed a BPM scenario with the next structure: First we make a SOAP call to start the process and it waits for a response (S/A bridge); the next step itu2019s a synchronous call with the parameters that was received in the SOAP request to a RFC, with the table received, we make a JDBC Insert to an Oracle, and finally we close the bridge sending the number that returns the JDBC.
Our problem itu2019s the next: when we send an empty soap request, the system returns a Pipeline timeout, and the followings correct calls starts to return the same error. We have observed that deleting in the qRFC monitor(smq2) all the queues the scenario starts to work with normality.
Anybody knows how to resolve this issue??
    Regards,
    Alberto Pla.
Edited by: Alberto Pla on May 25, 2009 6:24 PM

For empty soap request, instead of returning the error, if you could just stop the processing of the message (say using Terminate step in receiver determination or by choosing some default receiver), then there won't be any error raised and your other scenarios will keep flowing.

  • AP Problem on end of Bridge- Others fine

I have a linksys router on the end of a wi-fi bridge(Bridge is fine). I cannot get any computer on this particular bridge to resolve DNS. Although if I open a command prompt and type "ping google.com" it will come up with googles IP, or any other domain name. However I can access the net.  I have tried other AP's/routers to no avail.
Router wrt54g on "Home end" of bridge plugged into DSL modem, all computers, wired and wireless work and access net fine.
Wap54g  on "Sat end" of bridge. This is the site with problems, I can see everything on the other side of bridge. i.e piong other comps, etc.
    Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any consideration.

  • Problems with the ActiveX bridge for Java beans when using third-party .jar

I encountered the following problem when using the ActiveX bridge for a java bean:
I am using JDK 1.4.2_09 and MS Visual Basic 6.0 (SP6). I wrote a java bean called ProcessViewer (my class ProcessViewer inherits from JComponent and implements the interfaces Serializable and AdjustmentListener) which I would like to use within a VB 6.0 application. I used the ActiveX bridge (packager.exe) to generate a DLL (ProcessViewer.dll) and registered it successfully. The java bean GUI-control works fine within my VB 6.0 application unless my java bean (ProcessViewer.jar) uses any third-party .jar files.
But when I tried to add a reference to some third-party class (com.sap.xxx.xxx....) I got some problems. I could solve the problem with packager.exe by setting the correct CLASSPATH. But at runtime my VB 6.0 application does not work. It crashes or it reports an error like this: "The control ... could not be loaded from axbridge.dll" (although I deployed my .jar file correctly to the directory C:\Programme\Java\j2re1.4.2_09\axbridge\bin and lib). Setting the CLASSPATH environment variable before calling my VB 6.0 application (exe) did not solve the problem.
How can I teach my VB 6.0 application (containing the Java bean ActiveX control) where to find the third-party .jar file? Copying the third-party .jar file to the JRE lib-folder or to the axbridge\lib folder did not solve the problem either.
I studied the documentation about the ActiveX bridge given at:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/beans/axbridge/developerguide/index.html
but I am missing informations on how the third-party .jar files can be found during runtime of the ActiveX container (e. g. a VB 6.0 application).

with sp3 the message transfer needs to be started manually from the browser console.
So my questing : why is bridge start up not automatic in sp3, bug ? or feature ?
              thanks
              justin

I've got some more info on this, and it gets stranger !!
Basically I upgraded another system that uses Message Briging to sp3, and miraculuously, the transfer DID start automatically as desired. Very confusing ! so I compared the MessagingBridge stanzas in the config.xml for each system:
this from the "broken" system where the bridge does not automatically start :
              <MessagingBridge Name="DStoMHMessagingBridge"
              QualityOfService="Exactly-once"
              SourceDestination="DStoMHSourceDestination" Started="true"
              TargetDestination="DStoMHTargetDestination" Targets="datasourceCluster"/>
and this from the system where the bridge DOES automatically start :
              <MessagingBridge BatchSize="1" Name="BLS-BLP Messaging Bridge"
              SourceDestination="BLS-BLP Bridge Source Destination"
              Started="true"
              TargetDestination="BLS-BLP Bridge Target Destination" Targets="smpd289-bls1"/>
              I noticed that
              QualityOfService="Exactly-once"
was missing from the working system, so removed it from the broken system. And sure enough the bridge transfer DID start automically, when it had'nt done before. Problem fixed.
So there are several questions :
              1. Why does the QualityOfService setting have an impact on whether the Bridge starts automatically ?
              2. When you look at the web console on both the working and broken original systems and on the "broken" system with the QualityOfService="Exactly-once" line removered, It still says Exectly-once on the webpage. So Why this miss-match between whats contained in config.xml and whats shown on the webconsole ?

  • Interfacing problems using the Activex Bridge

I have a bean that's based on a JPanel. I am packaging it and then using it in Visual Basic as an OCX component.
I have to adhere to an interface on the VB side so that the bean will plug into the rest of our product.
I'm hitting several problems, all of which I'm attributing to to the fact that the packager introspects the interface for the typelib instead of asking me what I want to expose and how I want to expose it.
    1) Getter/Setter methods for properties which contain additional attributes arent recognised as such.
    e.g. for property foo:
    public int getFoo() is fine
    but
public int getFoo(int extraCriteria) doesn't work.
The packager doesn't recognise it as a valid getter and so doesn't bind it to Foo in the typelib.
NB: I've also tried explicitly binding the methods in the bean's beanInfo, (using PropertyDescriptors), but to no effect.
    2) Typelib is only generated for the top level bean so how do I provide a similar interface for any java object that it returns?
Any java objects that I return from methods in my bean cannot be interfaced:
Therefore I have to deal with them all as VB Object and I'm also back to square one with my getFoo instead of "= Foo" problem.
    3) The packager arbitrarily listens to, and exposes, any events that my class throws. This includes events that are fired from any of the classes that I'm extending. Therefore I'm getting 20+ events showing up from my JPanel on the VB side, NONE of which I'm interested in. When the packager finds an event firing method it automatically exposes it AND registers the activex bridge as a listener of it. Again this is a case of the packager introspecting instead of asking the programmer what they want to expose...
Basically I need help in either a) solving these specific problems, or b) coming at it from the opposite end and finding a way of getting control over what is exposed to VB. (Although this doesn't help me with problem 2)
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers
    Paul James

to no effect. That might be a COM restriction? IN that prop get and prop put
have to have a certain signature. If your method is public
and part of the bean info, then you should at least have the method.
    (That always worked for me...)

    2) Typelib is only generated for the top level bean so
how do I provide a similar interface for any java
object that it returns?Run the packager over all additional beans.
    >
Any java objects that I return from methods in my bean
    cannot be interfaced:
Therefore I have to deal with them all as VB Object
and I'm also back to square one with my getFoo instead
of "= Foo" problem.Once you start with your first bean, all subsequent objects
you receive from your first bean can be analyzed via the
java reflection mechanism on the VB side. Somewhere in the
documentation for the ActiveX Packager, there is sample code
on how to do this (how to get the class, find a method, invoke the
method, create new objects for some other class, pass it to your bean
    etc).

    3) The packager arbitrarily listens to, and exposes,
any events that my class throws. This includes events
that are fired from any of the classes that I'm
extending. Therefore I'm getting 20+ events showing
up from my JPanel on the VB side, NONE of which I'm
interested in. When the packager finds an event
firing method it automatically exposes it AND
registers the activex bridge as a listener of it.
Again this is a case of the packager introspecting
instead of asking the programmer what they want to
expose...The reason is that VB only knows one event interface (
marked as dispinterface). This interface has to contain all
events for the bean. I suppose the packager just goes and
collects all events it finds for the bean, including all the
inherited ones. The bridge has to be registered for all of them,
otherwise no event could pass through.

Basically I need help in either a) solving these
specific problems, or b) coming at it from the
opposite end and finding a way of getting control over
what is exposed to VB. (Although this doesn't help me
    with problem 2)
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers
