Problem setting up ovi suite with N86

I've just downloaded the latest v of Ovi suite and installed it on my PC, but when I try to connect my phone (N86) I get a message:
"an error occured while copying file ccdcmb.sys
cannot copy file to destination directory
click retry to retry the operation or click cancel to"
when i click cancel i get a message stating:
"do you want to continue setup without copying the file"
i haven't.
when i started the setup, i got to teh screen asking whether i wanted to connect via usb, bluetooth etc. or skip. usb was automatically highlighted. at that point i connected my phone via usb before clicking 'next', but from the wording on the following screen i gather that i should have clicked 'next' first and then connected.
so....
1) how do i fix the ccdcmb.sys issue please? from other comments on ccdcmb.sys in the forum, am i correct in thinking i need to uninstall everything and start again?
2) could someone recommend to the guys who write the installation screens that it is made clear to users whether they should connect before clicking 'next' or after
3) also to the guys who write the screens, please finish the last line of the first error message
as an aside, earlier this month i tried to install an earlier version of ovi. that time the software wouldn't even install on my pc, giving an error code 9508.
my pc is running fully updated xp pro.

An odd thing about the phone is that I actually did run the s/w update at the end of Jan or start of Feb and it reported as successful. So beats me why it now states 'not updated'. I ran this update soon after I got the phone, after I successfully installed a previous v of Ovi. I had to restore my HDD soon after this, which is why I was trying to install Ovi again this week.
Anyway, any help much appreciated

Hi,
How can I connect the Nokia OVI Suite with a proxy server behind? I am not able to download the maps because the Suite cannot connect to the Maps server.

If your PCSuite works fine, even your OVi suite should work fine without proxy entry in the application.
You can try reinstallation of the OViSuite application after uninstalling even the PC Suite.
Follow the below steps to re-install OVi suite and then try connecting the device.
Uninstall PCSuite
Run pc suite cleaner by downloading from http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/pc-suites/how-to/nokia-pc-suite-cleaner
Run the msi cleaner ( installer file msicuu2.tst is attached, rename the file to msicuu2.exe)
With the help of msi cleaner remove the following programs.
Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
Nokia Ovi Suite
PC Connectivity Solution
Goto Computer Managerment -> Device Manager -> Ports and delete all the ports creted for Nokia devices.
Goto the following path and delete all the folders inside the 'NokiaInstallerCache' folder
C:\ProgramData\NokiaInstallerCache
Later after restarting the PC, download and install the latest OVi Suite from the following location.
http://www.ovi.com/suite
After installation, restart the PC once again, then connect the device and wait for the drivers to get installed on own.
After the drivers installation, start the OVi Suite application and connect the device from the application screen.

OVI Suite with C7 connecting problem

After starting Ovi Suite and connecting the C7, the suite tells me that it is a C7 connected, then starts "buzzy with installing/setup.." ("bezig met instellen...")(see attachment). This message at the bottom of the sreens stays there forever and nothing is happening. The C7 is connected with USB. But I get the same result with Bluetooth.
Can anyone tell me what to do?

I have been using Thunderbird on some computers during many years. It is true now that Thunderbird 7 can´t sync adressbook with Suite.
Anyhow, Nokia has been the only phone manufacturer that has been supporting Thunderbird as long as I can remember.
just to be fair, and further more, it is time to Thunderbird to improve import/export functions for content. It is a dister nowadays and it has been for long. I am only using Thunderbird nowadays as a email client on 2 computers. All emails are on servers, also contacts and calender.
You will not be better off concerning sync issues and backup system in an Android. Just check it up for yourself...

Problem signing into Ovi suite

I just recently installed OVI suite on 2 different computers, they are sharing the same install problem, when I have created the account (obviously it works since I am using it to write this) it asks to sign in, both computers have spent the last half an hour trying to sign in.
One computer is an old xp professional install and the other is a windows 7 ultimate I am trying to connect a new phone C5 to update OVI maps, however I am unable to get past the "signing in"

There is a poblem with ovi suite not geting connected to internet in proxy enabled areas..
so it would b better if proxy settings can be done in ovi suite and also the speed of ovi suite is very slow...............

Problems Setting Alerts on iCal with Yosemite

I am having problems setting alerts on iCal. Generally, I set for reminders at 1 day ahead, and then 2 hours ahead. When I enter the first alert everything is fine, and then on the second, the alerts switch places so that the one day before alert occurs as the second alert, and the 2 hours before as the first alert. Is there something I am missing? It is purely frustrating. Using Mac Book Pro, running Yosemite 10.10.1. Thanks!

First, verify you're using Calendar and not iCal, which was deprecated a long time ago.
Then, update OS X. 10.10.2 is the current release.
Using Calendar, I can't duplicate the problem, but perhaps I am misunderstanding your description of it. If you would kindly provide really simple step-by-step instructions, I'll try again and let you know what I observe. It could very well be a bug.

Problems setting up 2way SSL with option Client certs requested Not Enfor

Hi,
Iam having problems trying to set up 2 way SSL with the option "Clients Certs Requested But Not Enforced". I am using DefaultIdentityAsserter with my own implementation of UserNameMapper. And I have the login-config set to CLIENT-CERT in web.xml. I have tested this setup and it works when I have "Client Certs Requested and Enforced" but when I change it to "Requested and not enforced" it gives an 401 unauthorized exception.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid not, I turned to Apple support forums, followed their advice for troubleshooting Mac Mail (obviously not relevant to you using Outlook) but It involved scanning ports checking firewalls etc, all of this was clear and I just cannot see the problem.
I even got one of the Livechat BC guys to look into it, by setting up a dummy email address on the client's account, I think he was rather intrigued, but I'm not sure he's had much luck as he still hasn't got back to and that was over 20 hours ago.
Can your client receive emails? I can only get my client's account receiving emails, when I try to send an email I just keep receiving an message telling me that it cannot connect to smtp!
According to the BC fact sheet for sending and receiving emails: "By Default, email software will set the SMTP port to 25, which is the standard port for the smtp protocol. However our mail service has two alternative ports available that you can send through. 8025 or 587.
However it's not blocked and those port settings didn't work either.
The Apple fact sheet made mention to firewall settings possibly also blocking, but it's not relevant to me using my version of OS.

I am now just looking for a reason that my client's mail WONT work on Mac Mail, just so I can sound professional when I tell them the answer is "no".

Problems setting up Airport Extreme with RCA Modem

Can't seem to get wireless working with my Airport Extreme. I have an RCA Modem (DHG535-2) through Comcast. I can get internet through Airport via ethernet, but only when the AEBS is in "Bridge" mode. I have tried unplugging, rebooting, etc., but nothing. The most common error message I'm getting is that the AEBS doesn't have a valid IP address. I'm pretty sure I should be selecting Use DHCP, but I'm not sure whether I need Share IP address, Distribute or Bridge. Also, when I connect via the ethernet, it looks like the IP address changes every time I reset the connection. Is this normal? I don't believe I have a unique IP address or else Comcast probably would have told me.
I've also tried resetting the AEBS to no avail. The modem does not have a typical reset button, but rather one called "REBOOT EMTA", which has kept me away from pushing it, ha! I'm very disappointed with the AEBS. I hardly ever have issues with Apple products. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Would hate to have to replace the Airport with my old blue Linksys router.

I'm not at home so I can't look at my own setup, but for my cable modem, I also have an RCA Modem (about two years old). I have it set to just get the IP address automatically, which it did the first time I plug in an Airport Express to it. I just upgraded to a Time Capsule, and all I had to do was turn the modem off and on, and it automatically works.
I would start over and try again.
Also, to reset my Airport Express to factory settings, it has a small button on the bottom that I just hit (with a tip of a pen) for five seconds and it resets. I would think the AEBS has something like that?

Problem setting up APEX 4 with WebLogic and Oracle XE

I'm am trying to install and test Application Express 4 (latest version) on a brand new installation of Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle XE.
I have followed the Installation Guide for APEX and have successfully installed all tables and scripts into my Oracle XE schema and am able to connect to the Application Express Workspace login page (http://localhost:8080/apex) but am not able to log in. All styles and images are missing.
I have followed the steps in the Application Express Listener Guide to install the Listener to my WebLogic deployments and have my i.war and apex.war files deployed but these apparently are not working. When I go to my WebLogic server and view the /apex/ListenerConfigure page I can see the page but get an HTTP 404 "Page Not Found" error and appears to be looking for the WLS's apex/apex directory.
Note: My Oracle XE / APEX setup is on a separate server than my WebLogic server.
Also, I see the APEX Listener file (apex-confix.xml) from the install zip file but I don't believe it is being used anywhere, as the documentation never told me what to do with it.
Any help would be awesome. Let me know what I can provide that I haven't. Thanks!

Problems setting up remote speakers with Airport Express

I have an airport express hooked up with powered speakers via a mini pin stereo connector/rca connectors. I have checked "Enable Airplay" in the Airport Utility configuration for this AE, which is my ONLY wifi device and functions as my router as well. In iTunes, there is NO speaker selection tab on the bottom right of the iTunes window. I am using iTunes 10, latest version, and the Airport Utility software is up to date. The base station is an 802.11g. I believe I have tried everything. Correct answer anyone?

Temporarily, try plugging a pair of headphones into the audio jack on the Express to simulate speakers.
Restart the entire network.
Same error message when you try this?

N97 - Ovi Suite Connection Problem - Windows 7

Hi all.
I have N97, firmware version 20.0.019 (t mobile - **bleep** with the old firmware updates.... )
I am running windoze 7 with all updates etc.
I have the latest version of nokia Ovi Suite and the latest version of Nokia PC Suite.
I am reluctantly trying to get used to using ovi suite instead of PC ever since Nokia's update page seemed to suggest I should be using OVi suite with this phone.
Anyway bluetooth connection is working fine. I can do all syncs with everything on bluetooth.
USB connection is not, when the phone is connected, and I select PC Suite on the phone, the phone and PC then get stuck in a sort of loop where the PC is "installing drivers" and the phone keeps asking me to select PC Suite mode. Occasionally I get an error message saying I am stuck in file transfer mode.
I have also tried this after going into settings and setting USB connection mode to PC SUITE only, with Don't Ask selected.
This is profoundly frustrating and also renders the ability to update phone software totally useless because you cannot update via bluetooth, only USB connection.
I am getting mighty peeved off with Nokia's ability to get firmware, and software products right. Come on guys, hire some decent developers, and/or start responding to feedback from customers like me. (I'd happily beta test any software, I've done it before for an online game......!!!!)
I am considering selling my N97 online, and just buying an unlocked HTC HD2 after over a decade of using Nokia phones.

Amazing that so many have responded to this post, and not one has come close to the right answer... I've had the same problem for a while, and at first I thought it was just my old XP notebook - which had more than one problem - or the general poor performance we've come to expect from the N97. I couldn't even sync on Ovi. But with my new Windows 7 notebook in hand, I was all excited to finally update the firmware on my phone - which had been stuck on v12 for a while. Imagine my surprise when I still had the same problems with my brand-new notebook. I started browsing around for more help than this thread, and found that Nokia has released a software update program seperate from Ovi Suite. Just google "Nokia Software Updater for Windows 7" or whatever version of windows you have, download & install. You might need to kill three "Nokia..." processes in the Task Manager to let it run, because it seems Ovi suite has these processes starting up with Windows. (Amazing when they program applications to do that without your permission!) Why on earth would Ovi Suite need to run three processes on my machine anyway, if I haven't even started up the program after reboot? But still, this program wouldn't connect to my N97 via USB. I clicked on the icon in the system tray showing the drivers installing after I plugged it in, and found the culprit: The installation of the driver for "MTP USB Device" failed. Googled that, and found that there are a lot of people having problems with that, from cameras to cellphones to mp3 players. Tried a few suggestions I found, and ended up having to uninstall all my (brand new?) USB controllers (under "Device Manager") and deactivate Windows Media Player from "Windows Features", reboot, then re-activate Windows Media Player - something to do with MTP Devices getting their drivers from Windows Media Player. Not sure if it was one or both of these fixes, but then Nokia Software Updater connected to my N97 with no problem. Installed the software update, and now all is good again. Incidentally, after the software update was complete, a whole bunch of different drivers were installed when I connected the USB... the main one changed from "Nokia ... Parent ..." something to "Nokia... Flashing..." something - and Ovi Suite connects fine now as well! Good luck to everyone who had this problem - it's been fun.

C5-00 No connection with ovi suite possible

Since 4 weeks I attempt to connect my new purchased mobile with ovi suite. I tried every version to connect but without success of chance to get in to ovi suite. I have Vista SP2 and used last release ovi suite 3.0.0.290
Each time of several installations and new set up of my PC-system I get the message from ovi suite: No device connected.
Also I used the correct USB-cable 101 and cable driver which has been installed on my PC during installation of ovi suite. I set up my C5-00 device for connection USB-PC-Suite.
Does every body have a advise what is to do. Never I had such huge problems with a mobile software. I suppose finally there is a software problem within of ovi suit data.
Would highly appreciate to get advises from Nokia support or other members.
