Problem setting up selection rule in ACS Express 5.0

Hello,
When creating a Radius access service and then clicking on selection rules and trying to add a device group
I get this error:
An error has ocurred.  please see below:
1. entry has been modified or deleted by another session.  click on cancel or navigation item
on the left to refresh content.
Could there be something I missed before trying to create the access service.  I already had set up the external database and added the device to the device group, but every time I try to add the access service I get this error message.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Alex

At any point did you try to restart the services or did you access this option but then try from another machine? It could be that something has this paged locked and the best thing to do is to restart the services and try again. You can restart the services by accessing the console and trying these commands.
application stop acsexpress
application start acsexpress
thanks,
Tarik

  • Problems setting up remote speakers with Airport Express

    I have an airport express hooked up with powered speakers via a mini pin stereo connector/rca connectors. I have checked "Enable Airplay" in the Airport Utility configuration for this AE, which is my ONLY wifi device and functions as my router as well.  In iTunes, there is NO speaker selection tab on the bottom right of the iTunes window.  I am using iTunes 10, latest version, and the Airport Utility software is up to date. The base station is an 802.11g. I believe I have tried everything. Correct answer anyone?

    Temporarily, try plugging a pair of headphones into the audio jack on the Express to simulate speakers.
    Restart the entire network.
    Same error message when you try this?

  • ACS Express selection rules

    Hi
    Have anyone experience about the selection rule?
    My problem is:
    I've two policy against the same group device:
    One use active dir database and PEAP method and the second use local database and eap fast (wifi phone)
    How I can discriminate the authentication because if I connect in peap and the first polici is for peap work fine but the wifi phone does not work.
    If I put the first policy for eap-fast the wifi phone work fine but the peap device doesn'work.
    I thin that the problem is to identify the correct attribute but I'm not able to do.
    thanks a lot

    You may want to use the Network Access Profile (NAP) feature on ACS, which was introduced starting from version 4.0

  • How do I set a mail rule to select msgs on which i am BCCd?

    Went to set up a rule for a particular address as 'Any Recipient' but this does not work if the sent mail had me in the BCC list.  How do I filter on this?
    (sender also using mavericks mail).
    tnx - jt

    Yes.  I understand this.  I want to set up a rule to move the message to a different folder.
    There's a header field X-Envelope-to: and the mechanism to edit header list - select Delivered-To lets me do this.  Previously I had tried to select Header, and that did not work:-(  I solved my own problem!

  • Steady green light on A1084. Airport Utility 5.6 says set up is complete.   Airport Express base station does not appear in the menu bar, so I cannot select it.  Is there a fix?

    Steady green light on A1084. Mac OS X 10.7.5. IMac. Verizon DSL Actiontec GT704-WGB modem. Airport Utility 5.6 says set up is complete.   Airport Express base station does not appear in the menu bar, so I cannot select it and send a signal to airport express to play airtunes through my stereo amplifier.  Is there a fix?

    I plugged a model A1034 Airport Extreme Base Station into the Verizon DSL Actiontec GT704-WGB modem with an ethernet cable and now the AirPlay icon appears in the Itunes window immediately to the right of the volume control and I can select it and play Airtunes wirelessly through the A1038 Airport Express Base Station in another room connected to a stereo amplifier by a Monster mini-to-RCA left/right audio cable running from the output jack on the A1034 Airport Express Base Station into the CD jacks on the amp.  The problem is that I have to select the Apple Network Airport Express Base Station as my network in order to select the Airport Express Base Station when I click the AirPlay icon, which means I have no Internet signal to the Imac. If I select the Airport Extreme Base Station or the Verzion modem as my network, then I have an Internet signal to the Imac, but the Airport Express Base Station is grayed out when I click on the AirPlay icon, so I cannot select the Airport Express Base Station and send tunes to the Airport Express.  It would be nice to play Airtunes while simultaneously accessing the Internet.  I don't understand your question about what program I am using for which I require AirPlay.  I am not learned about computers in general, and even less so about Macs than PCs.  I thought the program I was running was Itunes, and there was no separate program to run to use AirPlay for the purpose of sending a signal from the Itunes on the Imac to the A1084 Airport Express base station in a another room, and then out as described above to the stereo amplifier to listen to Itunes music remotely in the other room, without any kind of cable, wire, etc., connecting the Imac to the stereo amplifier.  I would guess that the most common use for the A1084 is to play Itunes through a stereo in another room without the need to run wires from the computer to the stereo.  I realize it would be easy simply to run a very long mini-to-RCA left/right audio cable across the floor connecting the Imac to the amp without the need to use AirTunes, Airplay or any kind of AirPort, but it would be both unsightly and a tripping hazard.

  • I am extending my airport extreme by adding an airport express. I had no problem setting it up and got green lights but now I cannot get on either because it says it is a self assigned IP?

    I am extending my airport extreme by adding an airport express. I had no problem setting it up and got green lights but now I cannot get on either because it says it is a self assigned IP?

    i am extending my airport extreme by adding an airport express.
    Does this mean that you are connecting the AirPort Express to the AirPort Extreme using a wired Ethernet connection....or....are you connecting the AirPort Express to the AirPort Extreme wirelessly?
    but now I cannot get on either because it is a self assigned IP?
    I suggest that you first concentrate on getting the AirPort Extreme working correctly. Power off the modem and both the Extreme and Express, wait a few minutes, then power up the modem and let it run a few minutes. Then, power up the AirPort Extreme and check the network for proper operation. Leave the AirPort Express off for now. Report on your results.

    I am having some problems setting up my new Airport Express.  I have registered it online, and downloaded all the new software, but for some reason it still doesn't work, and now my computer cannot find it! Anyone know what to do?

    Reset it and start again, use airport utility to find it (after the reset) and follow the instructions in the setup wizard.

  • ACS Express radius authentication AD authorization

    I work at a University and for some reason we have multiple systems for authentication and authorization.  That being said I am trying to use radius to do authentication and AD for authorization for VPNs.  I have the radius authentication working against our radius server.  I have my ACS express setup to join the AD domain and everything looks good there.  I setup the AD server as a radius object in AAA server groups on my ASA.  Then I add the server below in the servers in selected groups window.  I put all the info in there and when I hit test I click authorization and put in the username that I know is in the domain group I have associated with this on the ACS.  The test fails and with authorization failed with invalid password.  When I look at the logs on the ACS I see
    01/06/2011 20:14:26 acsxp/server Warning Server 0 AD Agent Plain Text Authentication Failed for user: username@domain
    01/06/2011 20:14:26 acsxp/server Warning Server 0 Authentication for user username failed for reason = 0
    01/06/2011 20:14:26 acsxp/server Error Protocol 0 Request from 172.20.5.2: User username rejected . by RemoteServer: AD (InvalidPassword).
    Username and domain are correct I just edited them for posting.  It seems like it is trying to authenticate rather than authorize.  All I want it to do is say yes the user is in this group or no the user is not in this group?  You can't even fill in the password when testing authorization?  Maybe I have something setup wrong on the ACS side but when I look at AD under users and identity stores, it says it is joined to the domain.  When I do AD domain diagnostics under troubleshooting everything looks good.  I have the ASA I am testing from defined as a device and in the ASA device group.  Under access services in Radius access services I have one service that I setup that connects to the AD and it found the group so I know it is connecting.  Any idea what I am doing wrong or where to look?
    Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks
    Joe

    Hi Joe,
    We could take a deeper look at what is happening through some logs and debugs:
    1. On ACS Express, under
    Reports & Troubleshooting > Troubleshooting > Server Logs
    please set the Express Server Trace Level to 5 and the Web Server Trace Level to 4.
    Also, for the Log Level under OS Logging, please set its value to "Debug".
    If previous old logs are not essential to you, you may also wanna delete all the log files first, so that we capture logs for the last day only.
    2. On the ASA, please enable the following debugs
    debug aaa authentication
    debug aaa authorization
    debug radius
    3. Then please first recreate a successful authentication attempt, and then recreate the authorization test issue with the same user account for which you tested the successful authentication.
    4. After the issue is recreated, please attach the debugs from the ASA and following files from the ACS Server Logs:
    acsxp_adagent.log
    acsxp_agent_server.log
    acsxp_mcd.log
    acsxp_server.log
    acsxp_server_trace.log

  • Re: Select statement fails under Express, but works underForte when usi

    Hi there,
    I have logged this with Forte and it as been recognized as a bug ( #46554 ).
    The Express methods you need to look at if you want to modify this behavior
    are :
    1 - BusinessQuery.BuildQuery() starting at line 217
    2 - SqlQuery.GetWhereText() starting at line 60
    We have gotten around the problem by modifying what Express generates by
    changing it from ( col1, col2 ) in ( select col1, col2 ... ) to ( col1 +
    col2 ) in ( select col1 + col2 ... )
    Just one thing i'm not sure that the '+' is standard on every DBMS for
    concatenation.
    We are using SQL Server 6.5
    Hope this helps.

    Subject: Select statement fails under Express, but works under Forte when
    using DB2
    Express sometimes (e.g. with nested windows) generates SQL with a select
    subquery, e.g.
    select x1, x2 from t1 where (x1,x2) in (select x1,x2 from t2.....)
    This fails on DB2 with a message that the comma in the where clause (x1,x2)
    is not allowed.
    This works on Oracle.
    Does anyone have a workaround or other suggestion?

    There are rules for bind variables and that statement certainly looks suspicious.
    If you can't get that to work then the rest of the attempt is pointless.

    Hi,
    This is the relevant error message:
    "WARN Cannot resolve computer name "pmoacs" in DNS or /etc/hosts"
    Please make sure you have the acs hostname configured on the DNS server.
    The ACS must be able to resolve its own hostname, otherwise this will fail.

  • Set-up Radius Server to ACS 4.2 and AD server

    Hi Guys,
    I would like to ask help from you on how to set-up Radius server in ACS 4.2  (step-by-step guide or link), wireless client will be authenticated via Active Directory when connecting to our Wireless AP so it means that our Wireless AP is added as client to Radius server.
    Thanks in advance!
    regards,
    Gagamboy

    Hi Colin
    thanks for your answer, we had the this setting correct. I was able to solve the problem yesterday, we had some faults in the AD mapping.
    I didn't know that when I select more AD groups for one ACS group in one step, that the user / host has to be in every of these AD groups (AND conjunction).
    Now I only added one AD group for my ACS group and it works. The error message "AD user restriction" was not very helpful for finding this fault ;-)

  • SSRS Cascading Parameter Setting Default Value of Parameter by Expression

    Hi All,
    I need some help on an issue I am running into in SQL server 2008 report parameters. I have the following Report Parameters defined:
    1) @PredefinedDateSelection - Boolean (User Selectable True/False, Default Value - 'False')
    2) @StartDate - Text (User input text box)
    If @PredefinedDateSelection = TRUE, then I would like to provide a particular default value to the StartDate textbox (i.e. @StartDate Default Value), If @PredefinedDateSelection = FALSE, then I would like to provide a different default value.
    I have the following code for the Expression for the Default value of @StartDate: =code.GetStartDate(Parameters!PreDefinedTimeSelection.Value)
    where GetStartDate is a very simple VB function defined as :
    Public Function GetStartDate(x as boolean ) As String
    Dim a as string
    Dim b as string
    a = "Report Uses Predefined Values"
    b = "Please Input Value"
    If (x) then
    Return a
    else
    Return b
    end if
    end function.
    Now the default value of @StartDate stays set as "Please Input Value", and does not change when I toggle @PredefinedDateSelection from False to True and vice versa. I was expecting to see the Default value to change between the two messages depending on my selection in the report preview.
    Another parameter which is a dropdown and uses a dataset to display two different set of selectable items depending on the value of @PredefinedDateSelection is working just fine. I am not sure if I am missing something or I am doing something wrong.
    Instead of using the VB code I also tried : =iif(Parameters!PreDefinedTimeSelection.Value = True,"Report Uses Predefined Values","Please Input Value")
    I also tried changing the default value using a dataset with SQL query and the available value set to NONE, so that the user could input. But the Default value does not refresh or change values.
     I hope I have explained my question clearly. I would really appreciate any thoughts and comments.
    Thanks,
    Arunesh

    Thank you much for your response.
    I tried that and it did work. But my requirement is to have a user input the date. The basic idea is if the user decides on a predefined time range like Day Shift Today or Yesterday and so on... then the report would automatically calculate the values based on predefined date time values. On the other hand, if the intent is to run the report for an arbitrary period then the user supplies the date and time limits.
    What I am trying to achieve is have the same parameter available for user input , but when the User decides he wants Predefined then the "textbox" populates with date and time as per his choice of predefind range.
    I understand that by this the user can still overwrite the date and time on the text box, but the report will run the predefined values as long as he has the @PredefinedDateSelection Set to true.
    Is there a way I can impement this?
    Once again I thank you and appreciate  your input.

  • Problem with jtree selection

    Hi all,
    I've got a JTree that represents a sort of data that I'm going to change dynamically in my application. I'd like to reset the selection of the user to the leaf she has selected before the change to the tree structure.
    First of all my tree uses DefaultMutableTreeNode to build each node, and each DefaultMutableTreeNode contains a SingleKeyValue object, that is a key-value object (two strings) and that has an hashcode defined as follows:
    public class SingleKeyValue extends BaseKeyValue{
          * The key of the database object.
         protected String key = null;
          * The description of this object.
         protected String value = null;
         public int hashCode() {
              return this.key.hashCode();
         I hope the hashcode can help me finding the right object even when its value changes (but the key is the same). The construction of the tree is the following:
    DefaultMutableTreeNode root = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("The root");
    // iterate and build each node
    SingleKeyValue object = new SingleKeyValue("key","value");
    DefaultMutableTreeNode node = new DefaultMutableTreeNode(object);
    root.add(node);
    DefaultTreeModel model = new DefaultTreeModel(root);
    JTree  tree = new JTree(model);
                so the tree is associated to a DefaultTreeModel. Then, when I need to change something in the tree I rebuild the tree and all leafs (with the SingleKeyValues) and rebuild the model:
              TreeModel treeModel = this.myTree.getModel();
              TreeSelectionModel selectionModel = this.myTree.getSelectionModel();
              DefaultTreeModel defaultTreeModel = null;
              DefaultTreeSelectionModel defaultTreeSelectionModel = null;
              TreePath selectedPath = null;
              TreeNode root = null;
              Logger.info("SimpleTreePanel.refreshDatabaseView: treemodel "+treeModel + " selectionModel " + selectionModel);
              if( treeModel != null && treeModel instanceof DefaultTreeModel ) {
                   defaultTreeModel = (DefaultTreeModel) treeModel;
                   root = this.getRoot();
                   // get the selection
                   if( selectionModel != null && selectionModel instanceof DefaultTreeSelectionModel ){
                        defaultTreeSelectionModel = (DefaultTreeSelectionModel) selectionModel;
                        selectedPath = defaultTreeSelectionModel.getSelectionPath();
                        Logger.warn("Selection path of the tree: "+selectedPath);
                   // rebuild the tree
                   defaultTreeModel.setRoot(root);
                   // set the selected element
                   defaultTreeSelectionModel.setSelectionPath(selectedPath);The problem is that after the above code the tree is all closed, no leaf are selected. I guess the problem is with the SingleKeyValueObject because I've tried the default model and it works with, for example, simple strings. Any idea about?
    Thanks,
    Luca

    Here's a complete test program that creates a few SingleKeyValue objetcs (objects with a key and a description) and that then places them into a JTree using the DefaultMutableTreeNode. After that, the selection of user is took and one node is changed, but while the selection is working, the reload/refresh of the tree is not.
    Any idea about how to work on it?
    public class SingleKeyValue extends BaseKeyValue{

  • Problems setting up username & password for SQL

    Due to the outstanding advice I recieved from this excellent forum, I have managed to overcome my first problem with declaring a new Class.
    This leads me to request help with my next biggest problem:
    Setting up a user GUI that takes a "username" & "password" that will be used to access a password protected database.
    I am a simple bloke, with simple thought processes, so please, go easy on me...
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    public class DBQuery1 {
         String username = "" , password = "";
         public static void main(String[] arguments) {
              PassDB UPass = new PassDB();
              String data = "jdbc:odbc:JavaTestDataBase";
              try {
                   Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
                   Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(data, "" + username, "" + password);
                   Statement st = conn.createStatement();
                   ResultSet rec = st.executeQuery(
                        "SELECT Title, ContactID, First, Last, Dear FROM Contacts "
                        + "WHERE (Title='Mr') ORDER BY ContactID");
              /*     ResultSet rec2 = st.executeQuery(
                        "SELECT Subject, ContactID FROM Calls "
                        + "WHERE (Subject Is Not Null) ORDER BY ContactID");
              System.out.println("\nFirst Name\tSurname\t\tNick Name\t\tSubject\n");
              while(rec.next()) {
                   System.out.println(rec.getString(3) + "\t\t" + rec.getString(4) + "\t\t" + rec.getString(5) /* + rec2.getString(1) */ );
              st.close();
              catch (SQLException s) {
                   System.out.println("SQL Error: " + s.toString() + " " + s.getErrorCode() + " " + s.getSQLState());
              catch (Exception e) {
                   System.out.println("Error: " + e.toString() + e.getMessage());
    class PassDB extends javax.swing.JFrame implements ActionListener {
         String username = "", password = "";
         JTextField uname = new JTextField(10);
         JTextField pword = new JTextField(10);
         // JPasswordField pword = new JTextField(10);
         PassDB() {
              super("duBe's database logon");
              setSize(220, 160);
              setDefaultCloseOperation(EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
              JPanel pane = new JPanel();
              JLabel unameLabel = new JLabel ("Username: ");
              JLabel pwordLabel = new JLabel ("Password: ");
              JButton submit = new JButton("OK");
              submit.addActionListener(this);
              pane.add(unameLabel);
              pane.add(uname);
              pane.add(pwordLabel);
              pane.add(pword);
              pane.add(submit);
              setContentPane(pane);
              setVisible(true);
         public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt) {
              PassDB clicked = (PassDB)evt.getSource();
              username = uname.getText();
              password = pword.getText();
    This code generates two errors, stating:
    C:\Java_progs>javac DBQuery1.java
    DBQuery1.java:14: non-static variable username cannot be referenced from a static context
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(data, "" +
    username, "" + password);
    ^
    DBQuery1.java:14: non-static variable password cannot be referenced from a static context
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(data, "" +
    username, "" + password);
                    ^
    2 errors*****************************
    The code works when I remove the reference to the variables "username" & "password" in Connection "conn" call & replace them with the actual username & password, but this is not exactly what I was after. I was hoping to make the program responsive to each individual user, not set in code.
    I also would like to make the program pause after the call in "main" to "PassDB" to wait for "PassDB" to exit before continuing.
    I would also like to make "PassDB" destroy itself after the "OK" button is pressed & the "username" & "password" set.
    If that isn't enough for you, I would really like the program to search 2 different database tables, return their values & compare them to be sure that they are the same.
    When I try & search 2 different tables, as in:
    ResultSet rec = st.executeQuery(
                        "SELECT Title, ContactID, First, Last, Dear FROM Contacts "
                        + "WHERE (Title='Mr') ORDER BY ContactID");
                   ResultSet rec2 = st.executeQuery(
                        "SELECT Subject, ContactID FROM Calls "
                        + "WHERE (Subject Is Not Null) ORDER BY ContactID")javac tells me that "ResultSet" is set to null 0
    As always, I am extremely appreciative of any assistance you are able to offer.
    Kind regards

  • Problems Setting up my wireless network with an Xb...

    Hi, I have had some problems setting up my wireless networking.
    I have everything switched on and am able to go online with the laptop and the Xbox with no problems but when I try to share media with the xbox I have problems.
    I have opened the ports specified in the setup from xbox on windows firewall and have no problem connection Via Ethernet cable but when using wireless the xbox cannot detect the laptop.
    I have checked the network map and both xbox and laptop are connected and have enabled sharing and am running sharing software.
    Below is the network map.
    I have also been having problems with BT software, the free virus protection will not install, The desktop help will not launch although it shows up on task manager and the installation disk does not launch correctly it doesn't get past the loading screen.
    I have had a printer on the wireless network and had no problems printing.
    If anyone knows how to resolve this please help.

    I have this same Motorola modem and I just verified that my 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) can get Internet access with this modem without any issues.
    When changing ISPs (or networking equipment) it's always a good idea to start from "scratch" in configuring your equipment.
    I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
    Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
    While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
    After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
    Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
    Power-up the base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
    Power-up your computer(s).
    In this basic configuration, computers connected to the base station, either by wire or wireless (as appropriate for the base station type), should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options.
