Problem similar to Nvidia 6800GT + AMD64 + Windows XP

Hi there, i seem to be having this problem. The game pauses randomly and hangs, there is also the irritating stuttering that comes out of my speakers.
My system Specs :
AMD64+ 3200
Neo2 Platinium (7025)
NVIDIA GEFORCE4 MX440 with AGP8X
Windows XP without SP2
Soundblaster Live 5.1 (Creative)
2X 256 MB corsair rams
None of my components are overclocked.
I am at my wit's end.
I tried to use the latest Nvidia display drivers and even went over to guru 3d but noting seems to solve the problem.
If anyone can help me, i would definately love that !

Is your problem the notorious Half-Life 2 pause/hang/stutter problem? If it is, then your video card is most likely the cause. I upgraded from a Ti 2 4600 geforce to a 6800 GT and the game runs with none of these problem and the video quality is awesome!
Just for interest why are you not running SP2? It contains a lot of new code to help systems like yours run safer, faster and more stable.

V570 problem with Intel onboard driver on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

Hello Everyone,
I recently installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on my Lenovo v570. I downloaded the drivers from the support page and I have a strange problem with the onboard graphics driver "Intel Onboard Graphics Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit) - Lenovo B470, B570, V370, V470, V570" in the drivers section.
Installation seems fine, but after restart, the system fails to boot and goes into boot recovery mode, where I get a message saying that booting failed due to a bad driver and the only actual option I have to boot up is to go back to a previous restore point. I tried installing the Nvidia driver for Windows 7, but it says that I need to install an Intel driver first, which is the one that gives me the blue screen when booting. I have also tried installing both drivers without a restart between both installations, but that didn't help.
I am wondering if anyone in the community has seen something similar. Any advice, information or assistance will be highly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance for your time.

Problem starting Repository Browser Service on Windows Server 2008

Using the default Warehouse Builder installation in the 11g (11.1.0.7.0) databaseinstallation on a clean Windows Server 2008 64-bit installation.
Warehouse Builder installed and populated ok, OWB client works fine etc.
When trying to start the Repository Browser listener by running the startOwbbInst.bat, the OC4J container crashes with the following error in the \owb\j2ee\log\oc4j\log.xml:

We're starting this as an administrator user in Win2008.
All parameteres in the setowbenv.bat seems to be correct as far as I can tell. There is a strange reference to %ORACLE_HOME% in the above log, of which I've no idea where it is coming from....
Identical installation worked fine on a 64-bit Windows Server 2003, - so can this be something related to a new security model in Windows Server 2008?
(I found a posting regarding problems with the startOwbbInst.bat on Vista [here |http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=2275781&#2275781] - so maybe.... however, the quickfix mentioned there did'nt help us here...)
Anyone experienced similar problems (and preferably solved them) on Windows Server 2008 and/or Vista?

Solved this after some trawling through xml configuration files on the server.
The file C:\Oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1\owb\j2ee\config\http-web-site.xml contains the reference to keystore.jks:
          <ssl-config keystore="*%ORACLE_HOME%*/owb/j2ee/config/keystore.jks" keystore-password="->keystoreadmin"/>
changing this to:
          <ssl-config keystore="C:\Oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1/owb/j2ee/config/keystore.jks" keystore-password="->keystoreadmin"/>
and the OC4J container starts successfully.

Cinelerra problem with video in the composer window

Hi,
After going through many distributions here I am a happy User's Arch.
One thing I feel very lacking in Linux, even more today that I do not use windows at home for anything is the fact that I can not find video editing software that is really good.
As researched a lot and not found anything that is really good in terms of video editing, I believe that it should meet my Cinelerra nescessidade because he in fact work this transaction and videos, etc ... Despite not liking anything on your interface would be able to use it.
If anyone has any tips please help!
The problem is that some crashes are annoying in the Composition window where it plays the video, it's not like I had with 3D acceleration.
And really annoying, I can not do anything without seeing the video in real time as it's getting and the parties must move ...
I tested several software recommended and one that I liked was the Avidemux which unfortunately does not work with multitrack and has no effect. The demics found it very bug. The Pitivi the crash here whenever I zoom in the video track ...

My video card is properly installed, so that the game Counter-Strike Source online with no problem locking or low performace via Wine.
I made a video also likely to demonstrate better to the problem, note the constant locking Composer window.
If I leave the video running too long, it speeds up from nothing and and then starts playing normally, follows:

I noticed that the problem is related to libgl same.
The NVIDIA drivers make a link to this file sombolico thus
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Out 10 20:12 /usr/lib/libGL.so -> libGL.so.1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Out 10 20:12 /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.256.53

I tried to remove the symbolic link and the program crash when I play the video
I think that's why I can not use other programs that want video acceleration, eg
Pitivi -> lock and close (crash) when I zoom video
Google-Earth -> tb's crash when a dialog will appear (those with balõezinhos info)
There is another that I can not remember now.
I tried using the nvidia driver directly from the site, version 256.53 Geforce 9800 GT
It's the same problem ...
I tried the version contained in the 173 nvidia pacman repositories and it's the same problem.

NVIDIA driver for Windows 7

Hello,
I'd like to know which driver should I use with my NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M (ThinkPad T61) and Windows 7. I tested a 190.xx version I got @ laptopvideo2go.com, but I was getting random "pops" when listening to my music collection. Running the vanilla (and 3D-disabled) Windows 7 driver, the "pops" went away.

Hi folks,
Updating my issue: I'm now running a clean Windows 7 x64 installation on my T61, last BIOS update and NVIDIA 190.40. If Aero is running, the random pops while I'm listening to my FLAC files keep coming, but if I disable it, the pops disappear.
I really hope to fix this problem, because I'm loving this Windows version.

I met a problem when try to use ACSE+ Windows AD to authenticate two kind of WLAN clients:
1. Background:
We have two WLAN: staff and student, both of them will use PEAP-MSCHAPv2, ACSE will be the Radius server, it will use Windows AD's user database. In AD, they create two groups: staff and student. The testing account for staff is staff1, the testing account for student is student1.
2. Problem:
If student1 try to associate to staff WLAN, since both staff and student WLAN using the same authentication method, the auth request will be send to AD user database, since student1 is a valid user account in AD, then it will pass the authentication, then it will join the staff WLAN. How to prevent this happen?
3. Potential solution and its limitation:
1) Use group mapping in ACSE(Dynamic VLAN Assignment with WLCs based on ACS to Active Directory Group Mapping), but ACS can only support group mapping for those groups that have no more than 500 users. But the student group will definitely exceed 500 users, how to solve it?
2) Use methods like âRestrict WLAN Access based on SSID with WLC and Cisco Secure ACSâ: Configure DNIS with ssid name in NAR of ACSE, but since DNIS/NAR is only configurable in ACSE, don't know if AD support it or not, is there any options in AD like DNIS/NAR in ACSE?

I think the documentation for ACS states:
ACS can only support group mapping for users who belong to 500 or fewer Windows groups
I read that as, If a user belongs to >500 Windows Group, ACS can't map it. The group can have over 500 users, its just those users can't belong to more than 500 groups.

Problem with tv@nywhere plus on windows 8

hi
i have a problem with tv@anywhere plus on windows 8. i can setup the pvr plus app completely but when i open that and click on "watch and record dtv program" icon, i will see an error that says: "invalid class string!"
i think this problem should be for its driver because i'm using windows 8 64bit and the driver is for windows 7, i couldn't find an appropriate driver for windows 8 on MSI driver downloads, as matter of fact it didn't exist.
so what should i do for my problem?

I'm afraid TV@nywhere Plus is a bit outdated for Win8. There is no update so far since 2010. Could be MSI won't add Win8 support if it would be anyway possible.

Problems installation Photoshop Elements 8 on Windows 7

I tried to install Photoshop elements 8 on my Windows 7 computer, but the installation gives a failure after a certain time. A file "...cab" is not working and may be corrupt ( exact failure code I can give, if necesary). Is there any possibility to get this file or the program Photoshop Elements 8 as download file so that I can complete the installation? Thank you in advance for your answers.

I just got the same problem already some time ago when I tried to install this programm in my computer. At that time (March 2012) the program crashed my computer, I had to reinstall all the Software completely including system software. The program I purchased in December 2011 from Amazon together with a Reflecta crystal Scan slide scanner as bundle, so I thought it will work.
I will try to install the program from the download link you gave me, in case it does not work, what can I do next without having to buy a newer version?

If you want to sync it to the iPad from that Mac, you need to upgrade it to at least 10.5.8.
If you want to copy the music to another Mac, you don't. Move the iTunes folder of the item in the Finder's sidebar over as you would any other folder. If you put it somewhere other than the Music folder, launch iTunes with the Option key held down and point it to that location.

Generally this should work, but of course there may be occasional compatibility issues across the different programs and their different versions.
