Since upgrading to Yosemite, my outbox clogs up and doesn't send all emails.
My iMac and Macbook air have both been upgraded to Yosemite. My Macbook air works fine, but my iMac retains emails in the outbox, and they fail to send. Some actually pass through the net, and send successfully.
If I try to send the same emails from my Macbook air, there is no problem.
This has only occurred since loading Yosemite.Howdy bill2069,
It sounds like your iMac emails only intermitently go out, but on your Macbook Air they send without issue. I would recommend using the Connection Doctor, as outlined in the following article to help diagnose and resolve the issue:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I left it running over night, it was running perfectly, in the morning the screen was black. i tried to restart it and got no display but i can hear the machine running. so i put away for several months, plug it in, charge the battery, it boots, i have a display, it loads the desktop and freezes. when i try to restart it theres no display. the last time i tried, i started it, i got to the apple screen and nothing. whats the issue here? please help.
Will it boot OK in Safe Mode? See What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? (Mac OS X)
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107392 Takes a while to run, but it usually "fixes" problems.
Safe Boot takes longer than normal startup

Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck

YOU CAN NOT install multiple anti-Virus applications! There is no better way to make your computer (any computer) non-functional!
The activities of one anti-virus program look exactly like the activities of a Virus to the other anti-Virus program, and your computer will crash in completely unexpected places, deep in the system. (which is exactly what is happening to you.)
Remove them both, and do not re-install either. Viruses are still extremely rare on the Mac. The protection from Viruses provided by the features built into Mac OS X are far superior to and far less obtrusive than anything you can add.
Protection from non-Virus malware continues to require that you be very skeptical and vigilant, and no anti-Virus software can help you avoid such attacks. -
I have Photoshop CS6 and having problems since upgrading to Yosemite 10.10?
It is slower and the lasso tools don't work as well as before
First, report problems with MacOS 10.10 to Apple so they can get the information they need to solve the problems introduced in MacOS 10.10.
Second, make sure FileVault is off (a few people have seen performance problems with it on). -
Im running Lion OS and I made update after it asks me to restart the iMac when i pressed restart it never boots again :S please help and how i can get my data back
Try starting the it by holding down the shift key (safe mode) if it starts then check your hard drive with disk utility. Also repair your disk permissions. If you are unable to start the computer try Lion recovery mode.

Odd things happening since upgrading to Yosemite
I have an iMac - 24" screen from Feb. 2008 - 4 GB ram, have upgraded to Yosemite (10.10.2) and have the latest iOS 8.1.3 on my iPhone 5, which I use as a tether to the internet.
A few days ago, when booting up, my normal startup screen appears, but then it slides over to the Dashboard briefly, then slides back to the normal screen, where the Maps icon has appeared in the dock and is jumping up and down. I don't use Maps at all (have never used it) , and have tried various ways of getting rid of it at startup, including changing various settings on my iPhone.
In addition, when typing messages like this one or in Mail, and while using Pages, when I try to highlight a phrase to erase it, a popup menu appears when I am using the Mouse or trackpad, and this popup menu will not disappear easily. It sometimes takes four or five clicks to get it to disappear, and it is a real nuisance.
As I have noticed others with similar problems since upgrading to Yosemite, I thought that putting this question under the Using Yosemite area of the postings would be the best. It's likely that one of your login items is causing the problem. Select the Login Items tab in the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences. Delete any items that you don't recognize. If you're not sure which ones to delete, double-click each to test it.

HI
my Ipad Upgrade to Ios7 but wont boot up , and when connected to the itunes 11 show IOS7, HI my Ipad Upgrade to Ios7 but wont boot up , and when connected to the itunes 11 show IOS7 but hanged in apple logo
I wait for 7hours but it cant loaded. If the reset doesn't work, force the iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost. -

Since upgrading to Yosemite on my iMac: My Mail app refuses to open, Safari won't load, and I can't upload pictures from my iPad...
Please help, any ideas very welcome. I've had my iMac since 2011, and have never had any issues to deal with before..

I am running a 7 year old MacBook Pro 15. Since upgrading to Yosemite I can not run my airport express' without having to reset each of them every time I wish to use them. I did not have this problem with Mavericks OSX. Does anyone know what the problem is and is there a fix?

Is anyone having problems with apple mail since upgrading to Yosemite?
MacBook Pro 15", mid 2012 running Yosemite 10.10.1 - ever since upgrading to Yosemite, I have a problem with Apple Mail which is that the from address persists on my screen after I close the email. I have to quit mail and sometimes even restart to get rid of it. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?
No, I mean it lingers when I close the email. What I've discovered since I posted earlier is that if I reopen the email and hover over the address in the actual email the one that is persisting goes away. Thank goodness, because it is very annoying. I am wondering if it is somehow intentional in the SW. Thank you for asking.

Slow since upgrading to yosemite
Hello I'm a new mac user and need some info.
I noticed that my mac is a bit slower since upgrading to Yosemite.
I get to see many times when opening an app the spinning colourful ball.
I did an etrecheck since i read on an over discussion that this might help resolving my problem.
Thank you

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. -
I'm running OSX 10.9.1 (13B42)
My problem is that occasionally my Mac wont boot properly. It gets to the background picture where the dock should open but it freezes there. The little apple shows up top left but nothing else and the cursor shows as the little spinning wheel that wont do anything. I can't click on the apple to restart, I have to switch off in back and then start up again. It usally boots all the way after that but I'm worried there's something up since this seems to be happeneing more frequently. Also I'm worried that having to manually shut down like that will somehow damage the software in time?
I tried a disk verify but there were no repairs needed. I repaired disk permissions too just in case but it still seems to happen every once in a while.
I've noticed recently that it happens the next reboot after I've been streaming movies online if that helps. Is there any reason for this and anything i can do to stop it in the future? Thanks Paul, just ran the etrecheck you recommended and got this:
