Problem starting/connecting
I have just installed Oracle on a SuSE 6.0 box. I can start
Oracle but when I try to connect, I get an error message. Oracle
is a user in the dba group. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

: When you install Oracle, you have two users predefined (and

(password

: SVRMGR>connect sys/change_on_install as sysdba

Thank you, Juan.
However, when I type "connect sys/change_on_install" I receive
the message "ORA-01034: oracle not available".
I think that the problem begins with the dbora script, which I
copied from the Installation Guide. It calls the dbstart script
("su - $ORA_OWNER -c $ORA_HOME/bin/dbstart &") and, inside this
script, we have the command "connect internal". At this point, I
receive the error message "ORA-01031: insufficient privileges".
I don't know if this has influency at the Database startup,
because at the end of the process I receive the message 'Database
"orac" warm started'.
But what I know is that I don't managed to connect to the
Database using the svrmgrl or the sqlplus. I receive the error
message "ORA-01034: ORACLE not available" for every account I
try: system/manager, sys/change_on_install, oracle/xxxx (the
account I installed Oracle), and when I try "connect internal",
it asks me for a password!!!
I'd be very grateful if someone could help me.
Rodney.

My wireless keyboard no longer connects with my iMac since changing the batteries. It now shows as not connected, not paired and not configured. A friend recently connected his iPad to the iMac and since then the problem started. Any ideas to resolve this?
a friend told me that he wants my os x cd for my macbook pro to upgrade his imac.
The discs that come with your Mac are "machine specfic" and cannot be used on another Mac. -

Not much you can do. You overwrote your current data with older data when you restored the phone from that backup. Your data's gone.

Mac connects to wifi, but internet doesn't work. Network diagnostics shows problem starts at ISP. All software is updated and all other devices are able to effectively use the wifi source.
Hi, KK93.
Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router and Mac can resolve the issue. However, try the steps in the article below to troubleshoot the Wi-Fi issue with your MacBook.

Also, see the article below to make sure the router setting have been optimized for performance.

iPhone: 5s,
Problem started after IOS 8 up date.
Problem: Bluetooth connection with car indicated: connected.
Incoming call: no sound (caller's voice) from car speaker.
Out going call: no ring sound through speaker.
At random shows calling but can not hangup & no ring sound.
Car: Infiniti G 37 2009.I uploaded ios 8.0.2 on my iPhone 6 128 GB today 9-29-14 due to problems with Bluetooth talking to my ReSound Linx hearing aids to hopefully fix the problem. It sounds like the Bluetooth looses connection to the hearing aids and turns them off for about 1 1/2 minutes, then they come back on and I can hear again. I understand there are problems with Bluetooth and cars using the phone. I believe this Bluetooth problem is causing my hearing aid problem as my hearing aids connect to the iPhone via Bluetooth and the ReSound Smart App. I tried the reset fix, Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings as some have suggested but that did not resolve this issue either. I can't believe Apple is not talking about this ios 8.0.2 Bluetooth problem. This affects my everyday life in that I cannot hear when the Bluetooth drops.Try working with your hearing dropping every few minutes! If Apple wants in the Health field, I suggest they take their QA a little bit more serious than they are at present. Whomever was responsible for testing ios 8, 8.0.1 & 8.0.2 should be fired! This is causing more trouble than anyone can imagine. I understand the car - Bluetooth problem but think about the fact that if every time the Bluetooth drops, you can't hear.My job could be in jeopardy. I posted the problem to Apple Support and they will not even have the decency to respond with even a "we are sorry." How long do I have to go without being able to hear before Apple responds??????

In this context, that can sometimes indicate trouble with a content file on the phone (or Touch).
Do you have any podcasts stored on the iPhone at the moment? If so, if you delete them from the phone, can you connect to iTunes without the error? -
To whom it may help,
I use my iChat to do video chat with my granddaughter. I used to do iChat without any problem to connect with her in New York. However, After Mobil Me account closed, I accounted connection problems frequently. Sometime, I had to turn-off my computer then re-started the computer to make it work again. . When I had this problem to connect on iChat (the Mac did not allow me to choose "available"), the poped out window message said that " the iChat lost the Mobil Me account [email protected]" "The server connection was unexplected disconnect". Do you know what is my problem? My Apple ID for iCloud and previous Mobil Me account should be [email protected] I am no longer using [email protected] for Mobil Me e-mail address. My current iCloud e-mail address is [email protected] is no longer of using [email protected] account for my e-mail. If this is the problem, please let me know how to remove the [email protected] account from your system. Thanks!

this is the code that I'm following
import java.io.*; import java.sql.*; public class test2 { public static void main(String[] args) { try { Connection con=null; Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"); con=DriverManager.getConnection( "jdbc:oracle:thin:@PLANET:1521:ORCL", "scott", "tiger"); Statement s=con.createStatement(); s.execute("INSERT INTO BOOKS VALUES('A Tale of Two Cities','William Shakespeare',4567891231,'05-JAN-1962')"); s.close(); con.close(); } catch(Exception e){e.printStackTrace();} } }
Edited by: Vantasia on Nov 12, 2010 10:18 AM1. Is the connection url correct?
"jdbc:oracle:thin:@PLANET:1521:ORCL" is fine.
2. Is the TNS listener started?
c:\oracle\product\ora10\bin> lsnrctl status
3. Is a firewall between client and database server?
Connection url with firewall would be different.

whats wrong?
please help me to get of this situation.
thankx.please check the port number is 1521?
12514, 00000, "TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor"
// *Cause: The listener received a request to establish a connection to a
// database or other service. The connect descriptor received by the listener
// specified a service name for a service (usually a database service)
// that either has not yet dynamically registered with the listener or has
// not been statically configured for the listener. This may be a temporary
// condition such as after the listener has started, but before the database
// instance has registered with the listener.
// *Action:
// - Wait a moment and try to connect a second time.
// - Check which services are currently known by the listener by executing:
// lsnrctl services <listener name>
// - Check that the SERVICE_NAME parameter in the connect descriptor of the
// net service name used specifies a service known by the listener.
// - If an easy connect naming connect identifier was used, check that
// the service name specified is a service known by the listener.
// - Check for an event in the listener.log file. -
Problems to connect with my iPhone 5 to my wi-fi
Hi,
i have problems to connect to my wi-fi with my new iPhone 5.
I didn't have the problems before, with my 3GS.
What is the problem? Did i have to change something in my settings?Does your iPhone see your Wi-Fi network and accept the network password, if you're using a password?
Is Wi-Fi grayed out on your iPad?
If it isn't grayed out, this Apple doc is a good place to start -> iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

I'd like to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox. The catch is, I only have a dialup connection, so online installation is not an option. It would take hours -- or even days. (And I'm charged by the minute.) Is there an offline way to install Fir
