Problem Starting the Portal

Hi All,
We have installed EP7 sneak preview verson. It was running fine but today when we started it its not getting started ....
Status of J2EE server is "Some Process Running" .. in SAPMMC ...
Logviewer is giving error "Principal not found!" ...
Can anybody help regarding this ...

Thanks a lot for your reply . We have installed it 2 weeks back.
I tried manually restarting it several times .. it didn't work .
We haven't installed anything other than EP7 on this machine.
Is there any other way ? Or do I need to reinstall it ..

I was wondering if you ever received and answer to this question, becuase I am faced with the same problem when I attempt a signon to the 'admin server' I receive the following message:
type Status report
message Invalid direct reference to form login page
description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid direct reference to form login page).
This is displayed as an "HTTP Status 400 - Invalid direct reference to form login page!!??" It appears that this message has been around for a while so I'm wondering if this issue will ever get resolved??

Could not start the portal server after installing Portal Source Code

Hi all, I try to install the portal source code and compile portal source code on the development computer. It does not work. I use Visual Studio 2002. Now I can not start the portal server. I got the error. I delete source code from webapp\portal folder. I still get the following error.

Translation problem in the portal screen

Hi Experts,
We are facing problem in the portal screen where some texts are displaying in-correct languages.
Basically all the text should come in Chinese if we login in Chinese language, but it is coming in English
For e.g. In Follow on Documents screen u2013 Value (filed label) is coming in English instead of Chinese,
Similarly some Chinese text is wrongly translated.
Help us how to do the translation or should we need to apply any OSS notes for this?
Should we need to use translation SOTR_EDIT to do the translation?if then how to do it?

What is the SRM version ? Please also check the language setting in your browser.
For wrong translation, you can correct it in the translation tools like SE63.

I just installed lion and suddenly I have problems starting the computer

I installed lion on my mac a week ago (mac 20.5 inch) and suddenly I have problems starting the computes, sometimes, but lately almost always, it takes a long time to start up (more than 2 min) and then the keyboard does not work and the mouse works partially i.e. the cursor moves but does not respond to clicks, also, when I move the cursor over the dock it does not appear the tag with the application name I'm over, basically I can't do anything except reboot the hard way. After a few times it usually stops happening but I don't know why exactly. Sometimes after rebooting a message appears indicating that I restarted the computer after having a problem and asks me if I want to open all the applications that I had in the previous session (in this case none) when I say yes the problem keeps happening but when I say no the problem stops. To make thins even more difficult just now it didn't let me choose "cancel" because the keyboard and the mouse have the same problems I explained before.

Are they each separately paired with the computer via BT preferences?
You also can check your Startup Disk preferences by selecting your startup volume then clicking on Restart. Does this cause a faster restart?
You might also try booting into Safe Mode then booting normally. Safe mode takes considerably longer for startup and will require you enter your password.

After installation trying to start the portal but get credential error

I download the SAP Portal 7 and installed it as typical installation on Win XP. During the install it was asked from the wizard to put the master password. I did it and the installation was successfully finisched. Trying to start the server from the administration console i was asked to authenticate and put the username and password. After typing of the credential data i get in a message box: "invalied credential, start faild: 2" and the start of the server fail. I retyped and even reinstall the Portal 2 times to be sure that i do not make a mistake by typing the master password but each time i get the same error!!!!!
I installed it later again as custom installation and step by step put all neccessary passwords and the result was the same
Please help to resolve this problem and get the portal a start

Once you power on your unit keep tapping the F10 key go to Diagnostics menu Run the Hard drive & Memory test in case any test fails you need to replace the part. If both the test passes please let me know.

Problem starting up portal after my computer was upgraded to Windows XP SP2 and security lockdown

Recently our computers in the office was upgraded to Windows XP SP2, and the portal in my local machine stopped working. It was working prior to the upgrade. I'm having a very similar issue with the G6 customization install (XP SP2, .NET version of G6).

I am facing an interesting problem in my portal.
In the content area, when an iview is getting displayed, sometimes I dont find the blue background and proper arrangements of the tabs present in the iview.It becomes plane white and the texts and tabs that are to appear in the content area are seen in a random fashion.
This problem it doesnt occur always. Sometimes it works fine and sometimes it gives this problem. Please get me a solution.

There may be some problem in installation itself. Not sure. May be u can try updating the latest patch and see if the probelm gets resolved.

Can MDAC installation cause navigation problems within the portal?

Hello,
I have a client who having problems loading page links in our second level navigation. Evertime time she clicks on node to expand the tree of links, she gets a "loading" message. I see this all the time but this message doesn't go away. She also gets a javascript error on the page stating it cannot find the specify module. She notice the problem around the time of her MDAC file installation. Do anyone know if this can cause a problem for navigation on the portal?

You made this bed by over complicating your site. Simple solution, take your pages out of sub-folders. Nobody but you cares about the .html extensions. IMO, it's a very poor reason for using sub-folders.

Presently, you must be using document relative link paths. Either switch to Site Root Relative links which will likely work on your remote server but fail to test locally. Or use absolute URLs (http://). The downside with this is that DW won't be able to manage links for you.

Problems starting the OEM on Solaris

Hi,
When I start the em console with emctl command I'm getting the messages bellow. You can see that it is started but when I checked the files on the log directory I found another messages that are printed too bellow.
Please, any idea how fix this problem? I found some stuff that talk about but without any fix.

Hi,
This error normally relates to the time zone discrepancy.
Do the following:
check entry for the default TZ in both following files:
oracle_home/sysman/admin/supportedtzs.lst
oracle_home/sysman/admin/nsupportedtzs.lst
export TZ=<your time zone setting>
./emctl config agent updateTZ
./emctl stop agent
./emctl start agent
Also try setting your time zone in file <oracle_home>/sysman/config/emd.properties

Hi All,
I am trying to restart the portal server j2ee server is not starting up and its giving me the following error don't know why its not starting up.
when i run the url following error message is given
<b>503 Service Unavailable
Can't process a request for dynamic resources.
Details: Web container not available!</b>

You could change heap size to solve your issue.
However, you wrote that you could not start config tool.
Config tool could work only after database start up normally.
Please, check database is running before config tool usage.
