Problem Straight Away

Ok so today i purchased an ipod 5g as my minidisc played finally packed up on me.
I put the intallation CD in and i get this error message:
"1608: Unable to create InstallDriver instance,
Return Code: -2147024894"
Can anyone please help me with this?

Could you give us the exact error message please? Normally you do not have to reinstall iTunes if the software on your iPod is not correctly installed, since that would mean a restore which can be done by using the iPod Updater, so I am quite confused.
If you have to reinstall iTunes, you should review article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698 ,because there are some files that you have to remove manually. Make sure that you restart your computer afterwards. Perhaps you should also remove Quicktime, since iTunes and Quicktime work together hand-in-hand.
Make sure you are logged in as a Administrator and disable all programs before you install iTunes again.

I found a way to sync my music files through autofill but I really wanted to sync ringtones but its not syncing and I really wanted to put ringtones in my phone please help.

I also had this problem. Go to settings> itunes & app store, tap on your apple ID and sign out. Then open itunes store. It should now open.
Then sign back in again and the problem should be resolved

Windows wireless network would not work straight away upon encountering a new network.

A Windows 8.1 network always works in a home environment. When taken to a public library, the network itself works but wouldn't connect to the Internet. After a lot of fiddling, changing user, restarting the computer and so on, all of a sudden
it starts to work. Windows diagnostic does not detect any problem. When it comes back home, it works straight away without any drama.
When the problem happens with a public network, the Windows diagnostic and ipconfig reports no ip address has been assigned to the computer. So I think perhaps the network runs out of IP address to be assigned. Then I use a mobile phone which
connects to the library network and hence the Internet to set up tethering and portable hotspot and test the computer again. Again the computer has no problem with the network but wouldn't connect to the Internet.

peculiar to Windows 8 that causes such phenomenon?

You can try the Orangeware driver, but according to this website it looks like it isn't going to work.
You are going to need to sell/return the card and get a different one that works.

Fire fox wont load properly keepd flashing on and off for about 15 minutes before it loads properly then says its in safe mode. How do i get it to load straight away and not in safe mode

Firefox wont open straight away.
I use to use Firefox all the time until a friend sent me a message that needed me to install Bandoo and I haven't been able to use Firefox since.
I unistalled Bandoo and Firefox still wouldn't load for me so i uninstalled it and re installed Firefox now when i try to open it ,it just keeps flashing on and off my screen for about 15 minutes and when it does load to comes up to welcome to Firefox 4 and a popup comes up saying that firefox is in safe mode

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:
Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file to Onedrive or a file sharing service and put a link to it in your next post
If you have updated to win 8.1 and you get the error message "the system cannot find the file specified" it is a known problem.
The work around is to edit the registry. If you are not comfortable doing this DONT. If you are, backup the key before you do
Press Win+"R" and input regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels. Delete "Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic"

First post for me I have just updated ipad to ios8 and now I can't sync music from my Mac to it witch is running latest itunes it starts to sync then stops straight away with no info why as anyone got any ideas please?

I don't recieve imessage texts straight away when i connect to the internet

It started a while ago, but when tect my friend on imessage i get the text back straight away but, i turn off 3g and wifi to save battery and in the morning i turn it back on. Theres no texts so i move on. But sometimes when i start typing a imessage to someone, the message alert goes off and i go to check it, and its an imessage from the morning. I keep the wifi on all day, but i usually dont get it until i make a message. Is this a glitch? I tried restarting imessage and it doesnt work.

I was just over helping my Neighbor with her iMac G5 and she did a clean install of the OS back to 10.3 and her computer wouldn't connect to the internet either. She is using a Linksys router with an ethernet cable so its not a wireless issue for her and I don't know if thats what your issue is either. However we reset her PRAM and it immediately connected to the internet once we booted it back up. Then she upgraded it back to 10.4 like it was running before and it stopped connecting to the router again. Weird thing is the router showed no lights or anything when it didn't connect. So she reset the PRAM again and it started working. I talked to her today and she had to reset the PRAM after every update I think. But once she got it all set back up it stayed online for the rest of the night. I don't know if this is the problem you are having and not being a total mac person (I program PC's and so I am stuck using them mostly) I am not aware of all the other implications of resetting the PRAM. If you loose any other information or not.

Login Window Doesn't Show Windows Domain Straight Away...

I have a workgroup of Power Mac G5’s running OS X 10.4.4. The user accounts are stored in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory Server (ADS), however there is a local Administrator account on the workstation.
When the computer is restarted it boots up to the login window but for some reason the G5 doesn’t see the Windows ADS domain straight away so it doesn’t list the “Other…” account. If I login as the local Administrator and then log out the “Other…” account then shows. It also shows if I unplug the network cable and then re-plug it in. Once I am logged in as a user the connection is nice and quick with no physical problems.
Is this a bug?
I was wondering if there is a way to fix this, for example, can I make the boot process wait until Samba has fully started, or can I add a 5 second pause in somewhere, or can I tell the login window to refresh every 5 seconds?

I have done the unbind and performed the bind operation again, but its still happening. I have now put a second system in and its doing it on that one too.
I was wonding if there is some way of making sure that Samba is fully started before the login window appears.

The Finder shouldn't show an empty optical drive. If the disk gets automatically ejected, there may be problems with the drive, or you may be inserting a blank CD or DVD into a drive incapable of burning it.

Not using Iphone as phone straight away....

Hi all, this may sound like a strange question but if I was to buy a new iPhone 3G before my current contract with Orange runs out would I be able to use any of the iPhone features without signing onto O2 straight away, don't really fancy paying two bills at once but I don't want to miss out on a new iPhone incase supply cannot meet demand and everywhere runs out before i can get my mits on one.

You cannot use any of the features until the phone is activated.
Last year, phones were restocked on pretty much a daily basis during the initial frenzy so I'm sure you won't have a problem getting one when your contract runs out.

I have 10.8.3 installed. I use Cisco VPN but this hangs after 57 minutes and 35 seconds. I disconnect but can't reconnect straight away but have to wait about 10 minutes then have another 57 minutes

I just got a new docking system so i plugged it in and put in my ipod, then straight away my screen went white and now its not doing anything! please help!!

Your post is abit confusing, especially on getting those weird messages and emails,( assumed in your Windows machine.)
Most likely you have Restored the iPod using the new Macbook pro, using the same name as that in your Windows machine, hence the duplicate name warning, as it is trying to sync Automatically.
If you are syncing your iPod to both the Mac and Windows, you must set it to Manually Manage Music, in the first machine that you setup iTunes with the iPod. Read thsi Apple Support Article
In iTunes, Preference, tick on Prevent devices syncing automatically
Hopefully your music are still in both your iTunes library,
Connect the iPod to the Mac
Restore it (just to fix any filesystem corruption by the Windows end)
Set it to Manually Manage Music
Sync your selected songs in your library.
Whern sync complete, Eject it
Connect it to your Windows PC.
Select the song in the library
Sync it.
It should work if your ipod Hardisk is not giving any problem.

Connecting then disconnecting straight away

i plug my ipod into my computer and it connects but then straight away it disconnects my ipod it works on my laptop with no problems but not on my computer with all the music on it i have tried reinstalling itunes and everything i even manually put my ipod into disk mode but still doesnt work help??

This sounds like an issue with the iPod not getting enough power. If you have connected the iPod through a hub, try either: 1) removing other high powered devices from the same hub, 2)connecting your iPod to a USB port directly on your computer, or 3) buying an externally powered hub.
The newer generation nanos seem to be more sensitive to power issues than older models. I had mine connected to a powered hub that all my other iPods worked perfectly from. Then I switched it to another powered hub that had less devices on it, and the new nano synced up like a charm. Try experimenting with different USB ports/hubs and I bet you'll find one that works.

Preordering Albums - Receiving Single Straight Away - iTunes album display issue

When I preorder an album and receive a single from the album straight away it goes into my library. However, when the album is released the single does not join the album and its split in my itunes library. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

You can't brag about "it just works" when it doesn't.
Not to defend Apple too much here - I think this issue is a big problem and they need to fix it - but I'd love it if you could point me to an ad or speech where they said "it just works", about iTunes Match or anything else they make.
Anyway, this is happening to me, so I might try your solution and see what happens.
