HI

thanks

Hi Michael
Thanks for that. I am using the 'Mail' app that came with the iPad (iPad 2) and iMail that came with the MPB, assuming this to be the default and recommended approach - what is IMAP?

  • Is there away to send an email message on the ipad with a photo attachment "not" inline in the message?

I need to send an email message on the ipad with a photo as an attachment "not" inline in the message?  I do not want the photo embedded in the email message.  I'm using exchange on the ipad.

Apple Mail will display attachments that are one page or less. While the photo will be displayed it is sent as an attachment. The recipient can click and drag the photo to their desktop just like any other attachment.

iCloud has nothing to do with your iTunes library sync. iTunes handles that.

  • How do I sync my email on iPhone and iPad?

My hotmail account does not sync between my iPhone and my iPad although the iPad does sync email between itself and my computer.

    Donna ...
You can setup an iCloud account. You get 5GB of storage space for free. Then your mail will automatically sync via Wi-Fi between your iPhone and iPad.

  • Problems sync'ing iPod with iTunes

I purchased some episodes of The Office through iTunes recently. Initially these episodes appeared on my iPod after sync'ing. Now, when I sync, the episodes will not transfer to my iPod. They appear in my iTunes account, the checkboxes are checked, but I can't get them on my iPod.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any thoughts?

    Disregard.
I found an option in iTunes where you can set the Play Count to zero. When this is set to zero and you sync your iPod, all content appears on your iPod.
Not sure if this is the best solution, but it works.

  • HT4519 Email issue on my iPad with sending mail outside my Server area?

I have an iPad 1 and use Time Warner Roadrunner as my email server.  When I am outside Time Warner's server area, I can still access my email via WiFi but I am unable to send an email.  I get a message that my email account is not recognized on the server.  I can access www.rr.com direct thru Safari and send emails but it is much more difficult.  Is there a solution to this problem.

  • Can I use the AC adapter made for the iPad with my iPod Video (5th Generation)?

I have a choice of using the original adapter or the newer adapter made for the Ipad. The original is rated at 5 volts @ 1 amp output. The newer (iPad) adapter is rated at 5.1 volts @ 2 amps output. I tried to recharge the battery and it worked, but the recharge time from a dead battery was around 6 hours. The difference of the voltage is neglegible, but the ampere rating shouldn't hurt the iPod as it only draws as much current (amps) as needed. Having said this I thought that the recharge time would be less...apparently not. I just do not want to damage the iPod. The iPad charger does not get as warm as the original while charging.
Any help is most appreciated. Mike (Phillipsburg, Missouri, U.S.A.)

I've been using my iPad charger to charge my iPhone for over a year. I haven't had any issues. But I can't promise you that your experience would be the same.

  • How do I sync my email on my iphone/ipad and mac so I don't have to "Read" emails in 2 places?

My iphone and ipad are synced so when I read an email on one of the devices, it is marked as read, but I just got a new iMac and it will not mark the emails I've read on my iphone/ipad as read. How do I fix this?

  • Problem syncing app from computer to iphone & ipad

I downloaded an app (Red Laser- barcode scanner) on my windows computer. I want to use it on my iphone and ipad but can not sync it.

This is the same problem I am having. And it was a problem with 3.0.1 also.
As FM said "I can not mark 'Selected Folders' in iTunes. It appears Sync phots from the folder that I want, but 'All folders' is still marked."
There appears to be no way to change from "all folders" to "selected folders". All relevant buttons are grayed out.
I would love to attach a screenshot to clarify …

  • Problem syncing IMAP emails?

I don't know what I did but ever since yesterday my IMAP won't sync on my MacBook Pro and iPhone. The symptoms are as follows...
    1) Email just keeps coming into the Inbox on my iPhone. At present it's showing 24 new mails, and growing. I am reading these emails on my MacBook Pro but they are not being marked as 'Read' on the iPhone. Also, if I go in and read them on the iPhone (just to get rid of the 'new mail' indicators), the next time I connect over Edge, 3G or whatever they all just revert back to unread? It's really annoying.
    2) If I move older emails out of my Inbox and into my archived folders 'On my Mac', they just get downloaded again into Apple Mail when I do send/receive. Apple mail is not communicating with my server and removing these messages from my Inbox on the server.
    3) I can't send email at all (unless I'm on my home WiFi). I keep getting an error "Can't send email. One of the recipients addresses was invalid." The addresses are always fine so I don't know why I'm getting this error.
This sounds like and Apple Mail problem to me. Or am I wrong, is it to do with my email provider?
I've just spent the last few hours removing apps from my iPhone as the 'Back-up' was taking over an hour before each sync. Now I get this problem. It's really bugging me. As an Apple user for over 10 years I'm getting really frustrated with all these glitches that keep appearing these days.
    Thanks for any help!

Are you SURE that you are setting up your email account on your iPhone using the IMAP protocol?
It sounds like you used POP!
Also, Re 3: Have you got your service provider's SMTP server correct?
If I use my service provider to send email, I need to use smtp.sp.com, while at home (via wifi) I need to use that service provider's SMTP server -- smtp.zzz.com!
So what I did was to use a SMTP server that you need to authenticate through before you can send email - which works on EVERY network in the world!!!

  • HT201320 How do I sync my email contacts from my iPad and my Mac so all addresses are shared with my iPhone as well?

I want my email addresses from my Mac and my iPad to appear in my contacts on my iPhone. Can you please tell me how I set it up so all my devices share the same contacts?

Your email provider needs to support IMAP. IMAP email accounts are kept in sync across devices. Older POP accounts are not. Check with your provider.
    Best of luck.

  • How do I sync aol email on PC and iPad?

When I delete AOL email on my IPad, they remain on my PC. When I delete them on my PC, it deletes on my IPad. How can I delete on my iPad and have it delete on my PC as well.

You need to set the email up as IMAP in both places. This should happen by default on the iPad if you used the AOL preset to add the account. I suspect it's set up as POP on the PC.

  • Problem syncing old emails from Outlook to Mail using Exchange 2010

    HI,
I recently switched from Outlook 2011 to Lion Apple Mail.  I am set up for email through my comany's exchange server.  When I set up Mail, all of my folders showed up on my Mail account successfully but it will only sync back the last 60 days of emails.  I know these old emails do reside on the server.  Is there potentially a setting on mail to adjust how back it syncs?  If not, can someone suggest a work-around.  I would only have to do this once.
    Thanks

When transferring a locally stored message that was recieved a year ago to a server stored mailbox with an IMAP account - doing this today for example, the recieved date for the message is changed to today's date - at least with an email client used to access the account.

  • Problem syncing Safari Bookmarks onto the New Ipad

I need help syncing Safari bookmarks via Macbook(not icloud compatible) onto the New Ipad.

You need to connect the ipad to the computer then make sure safari is set to sync in itunes and complete a sync, it will sync that way.
You can go thru anything else you want to sync also and set that before you actualy sync. If your gonna sync then only do it once.
