Problem synching audiobooks with iTunes

I had lost audiobooks and the Apple support person reinstated them yesterday so they could be downloaded to my Windows computer.  However, I can't get them to download (sync) with my iPhone 5S.  What am I doing wrong?

You'll need to sync them from the Books tab of your device when it is connected to iTunes. Scroll down to find the Audiobooks section.
Audiobooks from the iTunes Store are sold on a one download only basis. Backup your library as they may not be able to help again next time.

  • Problem synching ipad with itunes

I have an ipad 3 and have started having a problem synching in itunes.  It refuses to merge contacts, calendar and notes but instead simple replaces the one on the ipad with the older version from itunes.  This is also happening on my iphone 5.  It has also deleted 2 of my calendars.  I still have these calendars on another iphone 4 but I am afraid to try to to back them up as I don't want to lose them permanently.
I have double checked that it is marked correctly in info.  It has synched correctly in the past.
My itunes is current as well as my IOS.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • Hi how do i delete voice memos from my iPhone 4 after I have synched them with iTunes?

Hi how do i delete voice memos from my iPhone 4 after I have synched them with iTunes?

Hi James thanks so much for your reply
What I was trying to do though was to mass delete the voice memos from the phone, and I was told that one can do that via iTunes. Problem is that when I do open iTunes, I am not able to locate a TAB thats says ON THIS IPHONE
I was told that one could click on this and then select multiple Voice Memos and delete this way.
    Thanks again for your assistance

  • How can I delete songs from iphone 4s without the songs synching back with itunes?

How can I delete songs (forever) from iphone 4s without the songs synching back with itunes automatically?
My settings are , handle songs manually.
    Best regards PelleRPG

I did this with about 100 songs, and the problem is everytime I connect my iphone with itunes, It will automatically sync back every single song I did delete on the phone by swiping.
I did search on google and found out that serveral people has this problem. The songs wont delete from itunes library.
So why do they even make this function if it only deletes the songs for a short time?
    Best regards PelleRPG.

error -54 when synching iPad with iTunes on laptop.... what does this error mean?

    Hey MacFromManila,
It's a different method of backing up your iPhone 4s.  This article covers the differences between the two and may actually be able to help you choose between them:
Choosing an iOS backup method (Should I use iTunes or iCloud to back up my iOS device?)

  • Synching iPad With iTunes Apparent Problem

Lately every time I use iTunes on my laptop to synch my apps with my iPad iTunes says that there is less apps on my iPad than there really is. Also it shows that my iPad has more space available than it says I have in settings under "usage" on the iPad. If I choose to remove the apps on the iPad through iTunes instead of manually doing so on the iPad iTunes shows less apps on the iPad through the bar that shows the total amount of space on the iPad and space that is used and by what.
I have noticed this going on for months so I am always removing the apps I want to remove from the iPad manually instead of through iTunes. This way I am not losing any apps that I do want on my iPad and my iPad is remaining the way I want it too. Through this method, I am not noticing any changes through iTunes with the bar that depicts the amount of used and unused space on the iPad, even the correct number of apps on the iPad is correct.
    (A) Important Information Regarding the iPad, iPod Touch 4th Generation & iTunes:
    1. My iPad is an iPad 4th Generation (or iPad with Retina Display)
    2. It is running Software Version: iOS 6.1.3
    3. I will not update to iOS 7 (iOS 7.0.4) because I totally hate and dislike iOS 7 and everything about it, I prefer iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.5 that is on my iPod Touch 4th Generation that is also not able to be upgraded to iOS 7 anyways because iOS 7 isn't supported on it so my intentions are to keep my iPod and my iPad running the iOS 6 operating system. (Because of this, it would be wonderful to get rid of the annoying 1 on the "Settings" app icon notifying about the iOS 7 Update that I have already said I don't want.)
    4. Regarding updating apps, not wanting iOS 7 and Apple Devices that can't support iOS 7 (such as the iPod Touch 4th Generations) because many of the app updates that were supported on these earlier devices are saying: "Download the last compatible version? The newer version requires iOS 7 or later." This is truly unacceptable behavior for apps because everyone deserves the right to have the current versions of the apps, especially since some of them had to be paid for with valuable hard earned money. Thus all apps should automatically be compatible with all versions of the software the earlier devices are compatible with (meaning that they can't support iOS 7).
I am suggesting this because this could be the possible reason why the apps through iTunes and the iPad are saying there are less than there really is on my iPad.
    (B) Regarding iTunes & Synching With The iPad:
    1. My iTunes Software Version is the latest, iTunes Version 11.1.3
    2. iTunes with the apps I want to remove still on the iPad (6 total to remove) says that I have 94 apps installed with 8.82GB of free space available. The total amount of GB of space used by the installed apps is: 11.03GB.
    3. Removing the 6 apps I want to remove on the iPad through iTunes says that I now only have 80 apps on my iPad after removing them through iTunes and now have a total of 16.01GB of free space available. The total amount of GB of space used by the installed apps is: 3.84GB all of a sudden when only 6 apps were removed supposedly.
    4. Of course I decided not to allow these changes to take affect on the iPad and intend to remove a total of 6 apps manually, so instead of clicking "Apply" in iTunes I've clicked "Done"  and then when asked: "Would you like to apply these changes?" I clicked "Don't Apply" and manually removed the 6 apps after disconnecting the iPad from my laptop.
    (C) After Removing The Apps Manually From The iPad & Re-Synching With iTunes:
    1. With the 6 apps manually removed, iTunes now says that I have 88 apps installed on my iPad. (94-6=88)
    2. The total amount of free space on my iPad according to iTunes is 8.91GB of free space available. This matches what my iPad says under "Usage" in the General Tab under "Settings".
    3. The total amount of GB space being used by all the apps now currently on my iPad are: 10.91GB.
Now as I was saying earlier about iTunes and synching apps with my iPad saying I have more space  and less apps installed than it really does has officially been proven with the three sections (A-C) of information above. Now I like to know why this is accruing and how can it be corrected so both iTunes and the iPad are showing the correct information when synced?
ALSO NOTE: If anyone tries to tell me or suggest I should install iOS 7, don't bother saying it because I will not upgrade to iOS 7 ever because as I've said I don't like it and in my opinion it looks un-appealing and uninteresting and at the same time I want both my iPod Touch 4th Generation and my iPad 4th Generation (iPad with Retina Display) using the same iOS operating system, as in iOS 6.

  • IPhone 4 restarting problems when syncing with iTunes

I know been done before, just to clarify some things is that though some answers are correct to a percentage.
First one needs to try another USB and another PC or Mac for clarifying that its not a problem with the iPhone itself. I found this out when I had this problem and well I tried another USB port and working fine now.
Disabling USB ports through device manager can get results - however you may be adding additional problems - the problem is associated to the hardware of the computer (mac or pc) and this is either software related with drivers or hardware related and the USB port is stuffed - connecting any device to this port can result in failure of that device. Identifying the USB port is at fault can help you in many ways to overcome other hardware faults on your computer - seriously this isnt just about the iPhone but more to the point saving your computer from damages.
Due to many viruses and software codes - identifying if the problem is hardware or software based can be tricky, even with aid of programing benchmark programs, the only real way to know if it is hardware and not software is that doing a complete reformat - really this is the quickest and most surest way of clarifiication - you can spend days on end trying to identify where the fault is through programs and stuff and really you may not get anywhere - so reformating the computer and complete reinstall will determine if it is a hardware fault - now if it is hardware fault then it can either be the port itself, the motherboard or the power supply going to that port - so best be sure to back up everything and safegaurd all your hardware componants inside the computer as if it is a motherboard or power supply you really down want all your hardware becomming faulty due to surges or even meltdown.
Now if the iPhone is going faulty on other USB ports of other computer systems then you really need to contact your supplier if under warrenty or have it repaired - unless you personally know how to repair them. I have read a few threads here and they are archieved so really no one that I know of has covered this answer I am applying now. so if there is a failure to syncing through iPhone turning off and on then really cheack out the computer and iPhone (iPhone on other USB ports and other computers) and protect your data.

I have similar problem. Played podcasts becomes UNPLAYED after synch with iTune.

  • My Ipod Classic (160G) no longer synchs completely with iTunes (93G).  Have reset and restored to no avail.  AM about to try roll back to a previous version of iTunes, which has been on auto update.

My iPod Classic (160G) used to sync flawlessly with iTunes (93G).
Recently, there seem to be fewer folders syncing.  In particular, it is not syncing more recent adds.  It also occassionally refuses to sync at least one mp3 downloaded from  Amazon.com, giving an unable to sync message with an error code or 50.
I'm running iTunes version 10.7, and the software (2.04) on myiPod is current.
I only use the iPod for music.  I have only one playlist.
Reset and restore did not fix the problem; I'm considering rolling back to a previous version of iTunes.  Are there any other  ideas to consider?
    Please advise.

See this older thread for some possible solutions.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3924425?tstart=0
iTunes and its sync process with your iPod have been know to choke once the amount of data that needs to be transferred, replaced, or updated, reaches a certain size limit in GBs.

  • Problem installing apps with iTunes!

    Hello!
I have a big problem.I can't install apps using iTunes, because it shows me a message saying that the computer isn't authorized. But it is.Even after authorizing again,it shows the message again. If i install apps with appstore on my iphone, they work but as soon as i sync it with itunes the aplications stop working,i'm guessing because they aren't authorized.I tried everything, restoring my iphone, reseting it,uninstalling all my apple software and nothing. What should I do?

    Try these steps:
The following steps will recreate the SC Info folder if it is unusable.
    Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    1. Open Computer from the Start menu.
    2. From the Organize menu, choose Folder and Search Options.
    3. Click the View tab.
    4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders," make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.
    5. Click OK.
    6. Navigate to the following location by either typing it into the address bar, copying and pasting it into the address bar, or clicking through the folder hierarchy listed:
    C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes
    7. Right-click the SC Info folder shown and on the shortcut menu, choose Delete.
    8. Restart the computer.

  • Synch iPad with iTunes

I just bought myself an iPad and wanted to synch it with the rest of my Apple gear thru iTunes. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing all sorts of trouble doing this.
The versions of software does not match. First I upgraded my iTunes, then to install this, it says I need the latest version of Ios 10.6.8.
Is this a paid FW upgrade, or can I download this somewhere?
This is really tiring as I cannot synch my brand new iPad and get full usability, if the devices cannot be synched.

    Mrs Hansen

  • Why did i lose the songs i downloaded on my iphone when i synched it with itunes

i downloaded a bunch of songs from the itunes store via my iphone. when i synched the phone with itunes on my computer, my recently purchased songs dissapeared. Why is this and can i get them back? i spent well over $50

If for some reason you failed to import any purchases made on your iphone to your computer, not good, then
you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Upgraded to IOS 5 software and having problems synching music with my laptop

Not sure what happened, but after I downloaded the IOS 5.0 software upgrade I kept getting errors when trying to synch the ipone with itunes on my primary laptop that runs Windows Vista. None of my music can be synched becaise I continually get an error that the device is not recognized.

I would suggest opening "Apple Software Update" (from "All Programs" under "Start") so as to ensure that you have the most up-to-date version of iTunes.
    Hope this helps!

  • Cannot synch iPhone with iTunes

Recently switched from an iPhone 4S to an iPhone 5S. All of my music was on the 4S, and synced with iTunes. My son then tried to set up my new 5S and the only music that transferred over was the music that I had actually purchased on iTunes. All of the music on CDs that I had copied and placed on the 4S did not transfer over to the 5S. In addition, now iTunes only list the purchased music as well. The complete music library still resides on the 4S though. However, now I can't synch either the 4S or the 5S to iTunes.

Appointments are set almost every day, so likely that some were set about same time this occured.  All appointments have a reminder set so that is likely also. Not many are recurring without an end date.
One thought is that there is likely some setting that is not correct.  Have searced out all settings on phone, in Outlook and iTunes that appear to be connected to synch and to calendar but could have missed something.  Need to check to see if Notes and Contacts are synching also.
    thanks for your responses.
