Problem syncing Apple TV with iTunes

Hi,
I just purchased an Apple TV, but after it finished syncing with my iTunes, I noticed a alert symbol next to the device entry in iTunes, upon clicking it, the following message appeared on my screen
"Tip 24: Fill Shapes with Any Image" was not copied to the Apple TV because it could not be found"
I do not have a clue what this "Tip 24" is. How do I stop getting this alert every time I sync my Apple TV with iTunes??
Thanks for your help.

Thats what I thought, but how do I get rid of it so I won't see this alert in future!!?? I did a spotlight search for Tip 24 and found nothing!!????? Thanks for your help though.
you have to remove it from your itunes library.
spotlight won't find it, as the reference is in your itunes library, the file is missing apparently to spotlight has nothing to find.

I'm having problems on multiple machines completing a first sync after restoring from iTunes backup.

Lovely, helpful detail, scott. Many thanks.
Get an error message "The application or DLL C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple Application Support\Core Media.dll is not a valid Windows image.
Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Add or Remove programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click Repair.
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post (although it's for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things):

  • Problem syncing ipod nano with itunes after external hard disc install

Since moving the itunes library (without a hitch) to a new external drive we have had a new problem which presumably is linked! When the ipod is plugged in all seems normal at first, the ipod syncs ok, then the system hangs at that point. itunes says "syncing ipod do not disconnect" (Even though the sync icon has vanished from next to the ipod on the itunes screen)likewise the ipod says "Do not disconnect". Windows then opens a "Autoplay" window which is obviously searching for files, with the torch graphic. This continues with the computer frozen. Cancelling the autoplay, leaves it saying "Cancelling" but it doesn't. Ctrl-alt-del is required to stop it, but that causes the computre to actually require a switch off. The fault is obviously with whatever is triggering the "Autoplay", but the ipod correctly lists as drive H, it doesn't seem to be a drive letter confusion. (Unfortunately it is impossible to learn which drive the autoplay is searching, and why, and what it can't find! Is there anybody that can help, as itunes is unuseable with ipod at present. I have tried completely removing and reinstalling itunes/Quick time with no effect!

Recently I transfered my entire iTunes library over to my external HDD
How and what exactly did you transfer?
and completed all of the necessary requirements to be able to play my music back from the new folder location (i.e. changed the location in iTunes preferences and consolidated everything etc)
This should been done before you transferred anything.
Now I have gone to sync my iPod Touch with iTunes and it keeps coming up with an error
What exactly is the error and when do you see it?

A couple of days ago I purchased several albums from iTunes, but none of the songs will sync with my iPod Classic.  I just purchased some other songs, and they synced fine.  I have the current version of itunes and have never had this problem before.  I have approximately 7,000 songs on the iPod. I have tried everything I know. Any suggestions

    Hey catwoman001,
Thanks for the question, and great troubleshooting so far! iPod software version 2.0.5 is available for the iPod classic 160GB (Late 2009). If this is your model, you may want to update the iPod. If you are having issues with your iPod, the following troubleshooting assistant may help:

  • Problem syncing iPod Touch with iTunes 8.0.1

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help.
I have updated to iTunes 8.0.1, and since doing so my 16GB iPod Touch (with the 2.0 software) doesn't want to easily sync. On docking my iPod it starts to sync and then I get a message telling me that "An unknown error occurred (13014)". I'll eject the iPod and then re-dock it and eventually it syncs - slowly and maybe after a few times - but it does sync.
Is anyone else having these problems and if so, what have people done to resolve these?

Same thing just happened to me. Not only am I unable to re-sync my photos, but the photos that were in my iphone are all screwed up. I just posted under "Camera & Photos" hoping that someone would know how to fix this. I think our friends at Apple have done it AGAIN!

  • Problem syncing my iphone with itunes

Right i have been given a Power Mac G4
I have managed to get the itunes that was already installed on the computer to work with my itunes account, but when i plug my iPhone in to the computer, it comes up with the following message...
''The iPhone ''Riki Urquhart'' cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.1 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of itunes''
I followed these instructions and when i went to load the new version of iTunes on to the computer i get a message saying there is a problem with my system and i need Mac os x 10.5 or later...
Can someone please help me as i need to get my iPhone backed up and cleared as i have no memory left and need to organise the phone better, plus i havent managed to update in for over one year?
    Riki

    Not gonna work.
iPhone 4G requires 10.5.8 or later & iTunes 10.1 or later.
You should update your OS to 10.4.11 (run Software update from Apple menu). This is the most recent OS your system can run.
Also, iTunes 2009 is not a version. iTunes menu iTunes > About iTunes.

  • Problems syncing iPad Air with iTunes 12.1

I cannot seem to get my iPad Air to sync with 12.1 so there is no way to properly back up and no way to upload any new content.  Please help.

I think there's a big ol' discussion in the Mavericks forum about this - some folks have suggested setting up your own CalDAV server so you can continue syncing without having to route things through iCloud.
It may be simpler to go back to Mountain Lion or Lion (assuming you were on either of those). My syncing computer is on Lion and can't go higher so I didn't realize until recently that USB syncing over contacts & calendars was no longer available!

  • Problems sync'ing iPod with iTunes

I purchased some episodes of The Office through iTunes recently. Initially these episodes appeared on my iPod after sync'ing. Now, when I sync, the episodes will not transfer to my iPod. They appear in my iTunes account, the checkboxes are checked, but I can't get them on my iPod.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any thoughts?
    Dell   Windows XP

    Disregard.
I found an option in iTunes where you can set the Play Count to zero. When this is set to zero and you sync your iPod, all content appears on your iPod.
Not sure if this is the best solution, but it works.

  • How to: Force-sync a first generation Apple TV with iTunes 12

For anyone else out there who's still using a first generation Apple TV and iTunes 12 and realized there's no longer an option to "force" the device to sync, I have a work around.
    Background
With my first generation Apple TV, I "manually" manage the content stored on the device. As well, I don't add content movie-by-movie (song-by-song, etc.). Instead, I have three playlists (Movies, TV Shows, and Music) that I then sync to the Apple TV. The problem is, even pre-iTunes 12, modifying the content of a playlist didn't trigger iTunes to offer to "sync" the device (I don't think it was smart enough to deal with the EOL first generation Apple TV in terms of playlist content changes). But, at least with pre-iTunes 12, you were able to right-click on the device in the sidebar and this would bring up a contextual message with "Sync" as one of the options. So, even though the "Sync" option was greyed-out in the main iTunes window, you could still initiate the sync via the contextual menu (thus "force syncing" the device with iTunes). But, with iTunes 12, this contextual menu has been removed (right clicking does nothing) and thus the ability to "force sync" is gone.
    Solution
After trying many different options to get the first generation Apple TV to sync with iTunes (after updating the content of a synced playlist), this is the only solution I've come up with that works:
    1. Create a playlist called "ATV Force Sync".
    2. Put a single movie in the playlist (I used a short, 10 second video, but I'm sure you could also use a song or any other media—just use something that is short and you don't care if it's on or off the device).
    3. To "force sync" the Apple TV, iTunes > Apple TV > Settings > Movies > Sync Playlist, check the checkbox beside the "ATV Force Sync" playlist. This will then enable the Sync"button and you can now force the Apple TV to sync with iTunes (it'll sync the "ATV Force Sync" playlist, but also sync any changes to any other playlist the Apple TV is set to sync with). Then, the next time you want to force sync (i.e., if you've updated the content in a playlist you want to sync), just uncheck the checkbox beside the "ATV Force Sync" playlist, and the Sync button will be enabled again (and so on, enabling/disabling the "ATV Force Sync" every time you want to force-sync the device).
Anyway, it's not an ideal solution, but at least it works. I've filed a bug report with Apple, but let's be honest, I don't think supporting the first generation Apple TV is on their "to do" list anymore. <G>
Hope this helps someone else out there!
    Kristin.

Hi minjak—I'll see if I can help?
Has the Apple TV ever been connected to iTunes at all (on that, or another computer)? From the sounds of it, the ATV has already been "paired" with an iTunes library, thus it's not (and won't) show up in your current version of iTunes.
So, here's what I'd suggest. On your Apple TV, do the following…
Go to Settings > Computers > Select iTunes Library (or something like that—I don't remember 100% what the option is called as I don't have the screen in front of me right now) and select "Disconnect".
This should remove and "synced" or "paired" computer (iTunes) from your ATV.
Then, re-sync it back up to your version of iTunes. You have to do something like this…
On your ATV, go to Settings > Computers > Connect to iTunes and a passcode should display on your screen. Then, go to iTunes, and the ATV should appear (give it about 15-20 seconds). If it does, select it and enter the passcode showing on the ATV. This should re-sync the ATV to your copy of iTunes.
Make sure both the computer and Apple TV are on the same internal network. And if possible, connect the Apple TV to the network via ethernet (rather than WiFi). Again, make sure the Apple TV is "online" and connected to the same network at the computer running iTunes.
If all works, you should see the Apple TV appear in iTunes, something like this (i.e., there's now a small Apple TV icon at the right end of the row of icons along the top)…
Anyway, have a go at the instructions above and let me know what happens, and we can go from there!
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

I recently changed my email address and want to change my Apple ID account to match. I have created a new Apple ID to match the new account but now I can't sign into iCloud on our phones or computer with the old Apple ID. I can't make any changes on iCloud on our phones because it directs me to the old account, which I can't sign into. I also can't sign me in on my computer to make any changes. Help!!! Now I have two addresses and can't access the one that directly affects my devices.

Had to remove itunes from my computer to reset the computer. Now I'm having problems syncing my iphone with the computer. Computer is saying it wants to download updates to the phone but that will delete things I downloaded straight from the phone. Help!

iTunes thinks you have a new computer because you restored the OS. Open iTunes and authorize it to the same account you have on the iPhone. Did you restore your iTunes content from a backup after resetting your computer? Have you been syncing regularly with the computer, and does the iTunes library on the computer contain your apps, music and videos? If so just sync and your content will be removed then restored.
If you have not hopefully you have now learned something. You can recover apps and purchased songs by connecting the phone, without syncing, and choose "Transfer purchases..." from the File menu.
