Problem syncing events from iPhoto

Hi,
In iTunes I selected the events I want to sync with my iPhone and it worked pretty good for a while, but now it says they are synchronised but a lot of them are missing on the phone. Any idea how to fix it ?

You cannot share videos from iPhoto. You will need to manage them in iTunes or some other app.

  • Problems syncing photos from iPhoto

I am having a big problem syncing phtos/albums from iPhoto to my iPad2.
for some reason I have an album in iphoto that only wants to sync half the photos, the ones that I actually had to edit a little, all I did was rotate the pictures, but those ar the only ones that want to sync.  I've quit out of iphoto, shut off the ipad and rebooted, and still when I sync none of the other photos in the album show up.  I even clicked off the " sync photos from iphoto" box and cleared all the photos and then reloaded every photo again and still only the "editted" photos show up in that one particular album, all my othr albums are showing up with no problems.
So... is this an iTunes or iPhoto issue?????  I came here because i am using iTunes to sync

  • Problems syncing photos from iphoto to ipod via itunes

I have been having some difficulty getting my itunes to sync iphoto contents to my ipod. This worked fine for ages, but has just stopped working. I can sync photos from a standalone folder. Following a discussion on the ipod forum (for full details see: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1872524&start=0&tstart=0 ) we have established it is something in the iphoto library that is causing the problem. A new library works fine, but switch back and itunes does not recognise it. I am hoping that someone here can help me identify what could be causing the problem.
    Any thoughts welcome.

ps I have also posted this in the iphoto forum, see here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1876616

Resetting your iPod puts the iPod's software in factor default. It doesn't erase anything. Restoring the iPod erases your iPod's content and puts a fresh copy of the OS on it. Restoring is a more extreme way to solve a problem. Use restore if a reset doesn't work. If a restore doesn't work, then its not likely that a reset would help. Sorry for the late reply, I was busy with classes. Cheers mate.

  • IPhone Will Not Sync 'Events' from iPhoto

My iPhone 3G will only load 'albums' from iPhoto, but not 'events'. I prefer to manage my photos using events, how do i ensure that when i load photos into my iPhone, that they are loaded as events. Currently, the only way i can access new photos is by going into 'last import' or by sifting through my entire library.

Hvaing the same problem on my iPad since iTunes and ios5 upgrade - hoping for some updates from Apple to resolve problem - research has shown we are not alone!

  • Unable to sync events from iphoto to my ipad and iphone

Recently I upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion. I upgraded also my iOs on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. Everything works fine buy when I sync on my MacBook Pro using iTunes for my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4S, my photo library on my devices are crazy. All the events dissapears or some of them are "divided" in more events. I mean, theres the EVENT 1 on my iPhoto in my MacBook with 85 pics and after I sync, the event on my iPhone dissapears and I have 85 "events". Some one told me to unistall iTunes and then reinstall it to rearrange the libraries but I can't unistall the iTunes.

Go to System Preferences>Network and select the WiFi icon on the left:
Does it show WiFi as being on or connected? If not, use the "Assist me..." button and see if it can walk you through the necessary steps to turn WiFi on and get connected to your home network.

  • Having issue with Syncing Events from Iphoto to Apple Tv

All of a sudden I have multiple events of the same title but different amount of photos when i try to sync my photos to apple tv.  Iphoto is fine, nothing is changed but when I go over to itunes to sync I see like 10 different Events with same name. EVERYTHING is multiplied but there is no rhyme or reason to it.  !!!!!  Apple has done some system/app updates but they are so frequent that I don't ever pay attention to what is being updated I just click to allow the process.  I believe this occurred after one of the updates,  I have 2 Apple TV's AT1 and AT2.  AT2 is a nightmare to begin with because it was constantly getting kicked off the network but now that isn't the issue.  Now it isn't showing current syncs which doesn't make sense because I thought this one streamed everything directly.  Either way---APPLE TV is having issues and I can't get my EVENTS straightened out,  HELP!!!!!

I've also noticed this started happening... Its something with iTunes, because both my old Apple TV's and my iPhone and iPad all show multiple events for the same event... Lots of them! So many its hard to tell what to sync now. When I click on any of my devices photos tab in iTunes they are all exactly the same. Not sure how to fix it...

  • My iPad 1 has suddenly started to sync Events from my iPhoto library incorrectly. It seems to break down Events to separate dates - so if an Event was photographed over 2 days, it is showing as 2 separate events with the same name.

Posted this before I realised there is an update for the iPhoto app 9.1.3 which sorts the problem.

  • My iPad 2 wont sync selected events from iPhoto via iTunes

I have never had any issues with this until recently. My iPhoto library is too big and I didn't want all my photos on my iPad so I started using the Sync Photos from: iPhoto and checked the Selected albums, events and faces option. I have only selected from the 'events' window. All of them sync fine except for two events. One event has 376 photos in it but will only sync 6 that I duplicated and cropped. I have since deleted the duplicated photos and now the entire event wont sync. The other event has 435 photos in it but will only sync 16. I wondered if it was the formatting as a lot of them are 'raw' quality, but after going through other events that doesn't seem to be the case. I have plenty of room on my iPad so that is not the issues, I have also tried deleting all photos from my iPad and re-syncing everything, or just those two events, neither of which worked. I have read that you should delete the iPod Photo Cache, which I did but it didn't contain any photos anyway, is that because I tell it to sync straight from iPhoto and not from the 'choose folder' option?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solution from riderworks on another thread worked. thanks a lot!

  • ITunes cannot sync photos from iPhoto because of same filename

I have 2 iPhones that both import into a single iMac using iPhoto with a shared library (i.e., two user accounts accessing the same iPhoto library in the Shared folder). The iPhones are set to sync the last 5 Events from iPhoto, however it fails to do so with certain pictures stating "Some of your photos, including the photo “IMG_0513.JPG”, were not copied to the iPad “My iPad” because they cannot be displayed on your iPad". I think I have determined that the problem is that both iPhones are naming various pictures with the same filenames since the naming is simply sequential.  Therefore, both iPhone have images named IMG_513.JPG, for example, even though they are different images and though iPhoto doesn't have a problem with that the iPhone and iPad do. My current solution is to have iPhoto duplicate the photos that won't sync (I assume this creates another file with a 2 affixed to it) and delete the original.  It's a pain to do that, but I haven't found any other way to change the filenames once they've been imported or change how the iPhone name the photos when they're taken.  Any suggestions?

I have a similar problem.  I have over 5000 photos in my iPhoto Library.  I have used several different cameras over the years, so I have some duplicate file names...IMG_XXXX.  This has never been a problem before.  But, I am trying to sync to my brand new iPad 2.  I have been able to transfer about 1200 photos, but I get  the same warning that you get.
There is no option to skip the problem photo(s) and keep sync going.  It just stops.
Looking for a little help here?

  • Can no longer sync photos from iPhoto to my iPad or iPhone

I can no longer sync from iTunes to my iPad or iPhone if I want to sync photos from iPhoto.  I keep getting the following error:
"The iPad "XXXXXXXXXX" cannot be synced because it cannot be read from or written to."
If I choose not to sync photos everthing works fine.

I had a similar problem only neither my iPad nor my iPhone would sync and I was getting error 1106.
I looked it up and it said delete the iphoto cache, which I did and I also turned of syncing photos.
Now when I turn on SYNC PHOTOS FROM, the choice of Select albums........ is greyed out and cannot be clicked.
I don't want to sync my entire set of photos.

  • I just purchased Aperture and have 20,000  photos in my iPhoto Library. Can I import only certain events from iPhoto into Aperture or do I have to merge the whole iPhoto library?

I just purchased Aperture and have 20,000 + photos in my iPhoto Library. I see that I can create a unified library between the two. I am wondering if I can import only certain events from iPhoto (like only 2014 events) into Aperture or do I have to merge the whole iPhoto library? Are there any benefits to bringing the whole iPhoto library over to Aperture (iPhoto is SO SLOW for me, I wonder if it is because I have so many photos). Or, any detriment to only bring a few events over?
And, if I don't merge the two libraries, I assume that means I cannot do it at a later date?
Help. My local Apple store has had very few Aperture workshops, and the next one is like 2 months away.

Thank you so much for this information. Here are some responses/comments:
Disk space - it says 114.43 GB out of 499.25 GB free. I have no idea if that is enough.
    iPhoto version is 9.5.1
Again, I am not sure how to know if I have 3rd party software...but I don't think I do. Is 3rd party software anything non-apple?
I will try rebuilding the library. if that doesn't help, maybe I need more memory...? That is what Apple suggested, but that, of course, means buying something else. I've already bought APERTURE, on their recommendation...
It wasn't, and they told me it was slow because I had too many photos for iPhoto to handle and that I should buy Aperture. Which I did.
What is your iPhoto version? Are you using the most recent version 9.5.1?
iPhoto can handle 20000 photos, no problem.  Your computer can be slow for several reasons:
The most common problem for slowness - insufficient disk space. Don't let your free disk space drop below 20 GB of free space, better more. If the operating system does not have enough working space and the applications you are using, you will notice a very lagging behaviour.
Older or incompatible softweare can cripple your mac. Do you have any older third-party software installed, that might have installed incompatible kernel extensions?
Aperture might be slow or keep crashing, if you imported a corrupted image or incompatible video,  that cannot be processed. Then Aperture will try over and over again to create previews and never succeed.  You could test for this situation, by launching Aperture with the Shift-key held down. This will defer the generation of previews. If Aperture will launch and work better this way, you probably have some bad media in your photo library.
Another problem to check for is a corruption of your Aperture/iPhoto library. You have run the First Aid Tools to repair the iPhoto Library, but have you ever tried to rebuild the library? See this post by Old Toad: Rebuild iPhoto Version 11

  • Can't Sync Photos from iPhoto

Since I got my iPod last December, I have not been able to sync photos from iPhoto 4.0.3. When I select iPhoto in the Photos preferences of my iPod, none of my albums show up and when I try to update it, I get a message: "An unknown error occurred (-50)."
It's not a serious problem because I can still get my photos on there by selecting my iPhoto library folder as a source, but I would like to have access to my photo albums from the iPod.

    Anyone? Please??

  • ITunes not syncing photos from iPhoto

"Unkown error" messages are becoming usual for iPod users that we are ignoring them because our iPods are syncing fine anyway. Except for error message -208, the new kid on the block! This error message only pops when trying to sync photos from iPhoto (6.0.5 the latest! Syncing photos from any other folder or not syncing photos at all, does not cause any problem. The syncing never has given me this problem (and I have been syncing iPods with pics for a long time!)
How does Apple answer to this problem? Don't blame the iTunes software, because this is definitively a joint problem you guys have with your software not talking to one another.
I have rebuilt everything that can be rebuilt in iPhoto (thumbnails, library), I have downloaded and installed all the latest updates. Reset and restored the iPod... done! Reinstall iTunes, check!
I have posted messages at the iTunes/iPod forum and... no response! Hope the Apple staff is more friendly here... or at least one of the seasoned users...

You may have figured it out by now. None of the resetting of the iPod or the rebuilding of the iPhoto library (command+option) or permission rebuilding works to solve a -208 error when the error refers to an iPhoto library sync with iTunes. Supposedly, this error occurs with corrupt AIFF files as well. This error will occur on different iPods which try to sync to the same iPhoto library. The iPhoto library is definitely corrupted. Mine was due to a sudden power loss.
NOTE: I do not "Copy files to iPhoto Library folder when adding to library" under Advanced iPhoto preferences, so that my photos don't have a chance of getting messed up (like error -208s). If you do, the steps below may be different for you. Always a good idea to back up your photos.
Here is how I fixed it. All the steps may not be necessary. Go to /pictures directory under your user (or wherever your iPhoto library is located), and rename the "iPhoto Library" or whatever you called it to something else, like "iPhoto Library 2". Open iPhoto, and it can't find the library, and asks if you want to find it or create a new one. Tell it to create a new one, and put at least a picture in the library. Sync with iPod, which should work without error and put the picture on your iPod. Close iTunes. Close iPhoto. Now, to save all your pictures (thumbnails) already in the iPhoto library, copy everything BUT "iPod Photo Cache" folder, which seems to be the culprit, from the "iPhoto Library 2" folder into the "iPhoto Library" folder. Open iPhoto, and all your pictures should now be in the library. Open iTunes and sync iPod, and all your pictures should sync out without error.

  • Sync Photos from Iphoto to Iphone 3GS

Hello I'll really appreciate your help:
When I try to sync mi iphone, if i have the sync photos from iphoto feature activated in itunes it shows, at the end of the sync the error message (The sync could not be completed because an unknown error -50) and the photos doesn't appear in the iphone, even when the files have been transferred. I've tried rebooting and even restoring the iphone and the problem persists, I was using this feature without any problems and it begin to happen a few days ago without any particular reason.
    Thank you!!!

I just saw this error -50 on my old click-wheel ipod tonight.
To fix it. I plugged in the ipod. On the ipod setting tabs, click on Photos.
Change it so no photos are synced.
Then change it back and browse to a new photo folder.
Also you can try using Windows explorer to delete the sub-folder
