Problem syncing non itunes purchased songs to itunes from ipad
How can I get music from my ipad NOT purchased in the itunes store to sync to my computer? iTunes won't allow non iTunes purchased mp3s to transfer.
You can only copy iTunes purchased songs back from your iPad (or other iOS device). If the songs are not already on your computer, and you havn't got a backup of your content on, for exampe, external drives or CDs/DVDs that you can copy onot your computer, then you will need to do a search on the internet to see if there are any third-party programs that can copy them back.

Problem syncing and greyed out songs on iTunes
I just recently switched from an iPhone 3gs to an iPhone 5. Before switching phones, I went on iTunes and clicked "back up" in case I wanted to transfer music, photos, etc. After switching, I decided to add new music onto my new iPhone. I don't use iTunes very much, so while trying to figure out how to put music onto my phone, I clicked "restore from backup." I was afraid some of my new apps would disappear, so I clicked cancel. I checked my phone and the only difference I saw was that I got my old bookmarks back from my old iPhone.
I went back to syncing my new music and figured it out, however, I noticed that every time I clicked "sync", it would sync for a little while, stop at "step 2: backing up" and then cancel. I think cancelling the "restore from backup" interrupted the syncing process for my music because now, some of the songs are greyed out on iTunes, but they still show up on my iPhone. I'm happy the music still plays on my iPhone, but it bothers me that I can't get rid of the greyed out songs on iTunes.
Can someone please tell me how to fix the greyed out songs and how to stop my phone from syncing and canceling?
P.S.
My iPhone would sync and then cancel every time I plug in my iPhone into my computer, but I stopped that by going on iTunes to "Edit", "Preferences", "Devices", and then checkmarking the box that says "Prevent iPods, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically."
I hope all of this makes sense >.< I feel like I should be jumping up and down in joy for getting an upgrade, but I'm bummed out now that this has to happen :/I'm sorry I don't have a solution to post, but just want to say that I too (and I'm sure, among millions of others) have experienced nothing but frustration and anger at all the ridiculous bugs that have happened seemingly without any interference from the user's end.
I can't even begin to list all the problems I've had since being forced to upgrade to iOS 7 on my iPhone(s) and iPad(s) being a family of Apple users. The OS "Music" app is completely useless now (half of my 1,200 songs are "greyed out" and unplayable), iTunes doesn't sync properly (it absonlutely refuses to transfer songs no matter how many options and selections in the various panes are checked off) and everything is INCREDIBLY slow.
I've read SO many possible solutions and fixes and, really, I don't have the TIME to be reading endless posts and screwing around "experimenting" trying to get it fixed. And Apple, as usual, is mum and nowhere to be found.
My advice to tech companies is to LEAVE THINGS BE -- especially if there is no real improvement. Unless the change significantly improves the functionality—changing the interface, buttons, or even the icons JUST BECAUSE is stupid policy and infuriates those of us whose lives don't live and breathe Apple...and just want a functioning phone. -
I recently purchased several songs off of the iTunes app on my iPod touch 4Gen. When I plugged my ipod into my computer a few days later, something must've happened because now the songs don't appear on my iPod or computer, and when I look them up on iTunes it doesn't have the 'play' option it does for other songs I've purchased. I have the reciepts, and I'd really rather not buy my music all over again. Any help please?
What you should have done was review something like the user tip Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device before syncing with a new computer. Depending on your region you may well be able to download your past iTunes purchases from the store, however you have lost the chance to recover other content. Links in the tip.

My songs purchaed from Itunes in the past no longer show up when i log into my Itunes account with my AppleID. I have always used the same Apple ID, but i suspect it relates to the fact that I changed the billing information from a US card, to a UK card and then back to a US card.
The only songs showing up are the ones from my most recent purchases, but none of my prior purchases.
Is there a way to add these back?Apple requires that you be a resident of the country of the store that you wish to use, supply a credit card issued by a bank in that country, with a verifiable billing address in that country.

there is a list of the songs on my MacBook but the media files have disappeared, also from my back up.
Tried to down load from iTunes Match but no success.
Any help much appreciatediTunes won't transfer or download a track if there is an entry in the library for it, even if that entry is no longer attached to a file.
See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
iTunes Store > Purchased > {Media} > Not on this computer may allow you to download all missing items.

I have an example for you all to wrap your heads around. For example, I click Fiona Apple's Every Single Night, but instead of playing Every Single Night, it'll play Kanye West's Bound 2, and Bound 2 will appear on my songs list in line with the rest of the Fiona Apple songs, even though it's a Kanye West song. Then I'll try to search for Every Single Night, and it won't come up. What is wrong? HELPP PLEASE!!!
And might i add...all of this happened after my sync was being stupid.

Mostly because you are not using any capital letters or paragraph returns and your post is difficult to read. -
My PC Windows 7 hard drive crashed. I have a new hard drive. But i lost all my CD's that i had burned onto iTunes. They are all still on my iPhone 4s, but when i sync, only the purchased songs will import. Is there anyway to retrieve them? Thanks!
Restore your library from your most recent backup (you do keep regular backups, I hope). If the hard drive is in any way salvageable it may be possible to mount it in an external enclosure, connect it to your PC, and retrieve data from it even if it is not functioning as a primary OS drive (if you don't have the kit necessary to do this, your local PC repair shop may be able to help). Failing that, you can always recreate your library by re-importing your CDs.

purchased songs thru itunes yesterday and also thru a free file sharing place. i added the songs to itunes yesterday & today i went to sync up and all the songs from yesterday have a error -69. what is the deal?
Usually a 69 indicates damage to a file ... but it's a bit suspicious that everything acquired in a short time frame is showing a -69. That has me wondering about disk damage.
Perhaps try running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive (or whichever drive you've got the 69-throwing content on).
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup (especially if it's running on the C:\ drive). The scan should take quite a while (especially on the C:\ drive) ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, do the items still give you a -69 when syncing? -
Purchase song on iTunes from 5c phone but can't play song on phone or mac
Purchased song on ITunes and entered correct apple id. song downloaded to iPhone 5C. Phone then synced with MacPro laptop on OS Mavericks latest version. This song will not play on phone or laptop. Get Info shows correct Apple ID. Whenever I try to play this song, get message this song is not authorized for this computer. I sign same Apple ID with correct password and get message Computer already authorized. When I click to play on same song again, get same message this song is not authorized for this computer. Song will not play on phone either. Just skips to next available song to play.
What is the exact text of the error dialog?
If I understand you correctly you are saying that you and your wife both use the same MacMini with seperate User Accounts. You each have your own iTunes Store Apple IDs. This could be a problem. One computer can only be associated with an Apple ID once every 90 days. This applies to using iTunes Match, automatic downloads and downloading past purchases. See this Apple KB article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Since you apparently had the MacMini associated to your Apple ID for iTunes Match, if your wife attempted to re-download anything from her purchase history she would have been prompted to associate the computer with her Apple ID, which it sounds like she did. At this time you must wait the 90 days before you may re-associate the MacMini with your Apple ID. -
Can't burn itunes purchased songs onto a cd
I created a playlist consisting of previously downloaded songs (not purchased from itunes) and itunes purchased songs. When I attempted to burn a cd of the playlist, only the previously downloaded non itunes were burned into the cd. During the burning process the meter at the top of the page indicated that the itune purchases were being read, but when I played the cd on my car cd, and later on a friends cd, the itunes purchased songs weren't there. When I play the burned cd on my computer all the songs are included. I've tried slowing down the recording speed, trying both audio and data cd options with the same results. I am using cd-r cd's. Can anyone help?

How can i transfer my itunes music library to my iphone? currently it will only transfer itunes purchased songs and not my whole library.
For non-purchased music like CD rip music, or website downloaded songs, you need some third party software to copy the music from iPod to mac. If you need details, here is a guide about how to get music from iPod to macbook. Hope it helps.

Can' t download updates and can't purchase songs on iTunes. Need a solution.
Cannot download updates and cannot purchase songs on iTunes. Tried reloading iTunes. Did not fix problem.
I figured out that now you can download them for free just by contacting iTunes Store Support and requesting redeem codes for apps made by Apple.

Linda,
Apple formerly ran a program that allowed you to replace DRM songs with non-DRM versions for 30 cents apiece. That program was discontinued by Apple last year.
You can still upgrade now, but it requires subscribing to iTunes Match and following the instructions by which to delete your DRM copy and download the non-DRM (iTunes Plus) matched copy. See the section "Can I upgrade my previously purchased music to iTunes Plus?" in this guide: iTunes Store: iTunes Plus Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) -
my ipod nano4th gen will not download the purchased songs in itunes v11. Just upgraded to mac 10.6.8-won't synch new songs since this upgrade. The ipod is seen in the itunes as the devise, and the nano screens says synching when plugged into the macmini usb port, but the itunes window does not say it is synching like it has before so whats the culprit? Techno virgin in distress!
PS - I added an iphone5 which is whay these upgrades happened so this synching to the ipod error is since the iphone began synching.I just learn in some post that the most common lapses in syncing is not checking if "sync music" in music section of the ipod is ticked. So double check if it is. Cheers!
