Problem syncing one calendar no matter what I do

I have one calendar (out of 5 total) that simply does not want to sync. I get the dreaded "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone... because the iPhone disconnected."
The key thing to note is that this is a calendar I subscribe to via the icalx service. I have other calendars that I tried there and they synced fine.
Here's what I've tried to no avail...
1. Reset sync history under iSync preferences.
2. Deleted calendar on my Mac and recreated it, using a different name even (nothing weird about the name either).
3. Changed "Do not sync events older than" setting to 1 day.
4. I looked at each event in the calendar and all of them seem to be appear fine in terms of data.
Checking the error log on my Mac, I see this suspicious entry:

  • Song won't sync to iPad no matter what (deleted a whole album while listening to that song)

    I bought a new album today at the store (Slaughterhouse, welcome to:Our House) and had a lot of problems with it today. I solved most of them (which included sorting all the songs into one album and into the same order) but, just when I think everything is going great as I put the album artwork in (done this before) my OCD makes me delete the whole album off the iPad to see if it all works again when I sync it. Well, I forgot to stop playing the first track (The Slaughter) when I deleted it, and no matter what I try I can't get it back. I have tried a lot, and nobody has asked a similar question so I can't find any more help.
    As I said before, I have OCD, and only the first track is gone (which is just a skit), but, I bought this album JUST to put on my iPad, because we were out. I am really frustrated.
    What I have done includes:
    Removing the album from the music library
    Removing the album from my own playlist
    Resyncing the whole album
    Removing the CD and putting it back in
    Trying to regroup the whole album like before, including trying to have The Slaughter have the same artwork as the rest of the album
    This really troubles me, and I might think again about getting an album from the store if nobody answers this.

    All right, I tried again the next day and I didn't have a problem. I still have no idea what happened the first time, but I guess it was just a random glitch or something. Sorry for the trouble...although nobody else appears to have figured it out either. Thanks again.

  • ICal keeps MobileMe calendars no matter what

    I synced my iCal with my MobileMe account and now the calenders stay in there no matter what I do. Calendar "Syncronize iCal" in iCal preferences is unchecked, same in the MM preference pane, I even signed out of MM completely – the calendars are still there. Any idea what went wrong here?

    If you have not upgraded to the new MobileMe calendar, then calendars live 'On My Mac' (and are just listed in the sidebar without any grouping); stopping syncing simply stops changes being transmitted to MobileMe. You can delete a calendar, if that's what you want, by control-clicking on it and choosing 'Delete'.
    If you have upgraded to the new MobileMe calendar, then calendars live on MobileMe and are accessed by each device, like webmail. (The condition of syncing in MobileMe preferences is irrelevant and it should be off). Calendars are listed under your MobileMe login name. (You may also have local calendars under 'On My Mac' - these will not sync to MobileMe.)
    However, by default a cached copy of each MobileMe calendar is kept on the computer so that you still have the ability to view the calendar when offline (and also you don't have to wait for the whole thing to load each time, only the changes). You can delete calendars by the same method as above.

    Hi,
    When I try to sync my Outlook 2003 calendar entries with my Curve, I get the following error:
    "Error encountered. Error code - 0x80043ac9. Check documentation."
    It seems to be stuck in the "Processing Device Calendar" screen, with "Record 20 of 80 Records", when the above error popped up. See screenshot below.
    I have NO PROBLEM syncing Outlook Contacts or Memos. I ONLY have problem when syncing Outlook Calendar.
    I've read other posts out there where there was a similar problem when syncing Contacts, and the solution is to remove Birthday contact entries:

    But I don't have any Birthday in my contacts, and my problem is with Calendar, not Contacts.

    Clear the calendar database on the BlackBerry smartphone.

  • Curve 8310 Problems Syncing Outlook Calendar & Desktop Manager Freezing

    Hi: I recently bought a Curve 8310. It has Desktop Manager version 4.2.2.14; my laptop has Vista Home Premium and I use Outlook 2007.
    Just a day or two ago Desktop Manager started crashing while syncing Outlook Calendar. It stops at Calendar entry 76 and then freezes. From checking the Technical Solution Center I understand the problem may be a corrupt Calendar entry. Dealing with this apparently involves going into Configure Synchronization but Desktop Manager won't let me do this. If I start it when the phone is connected to my laptop it doesn't register the connection and often freezes. If I start it, then connect the phone, and stop the synchronization process before it crashes Manager, clicking on any of the Desktop Manager ikons, including Synchronize, doesn't have any effect. I've tried reinstalling Desktop Manager from the CD supplied by my phone provider but it's made no difference.
    I'd be grateful for any advice; Before this problem developed I was really enjoying my BlackBurry.

    First we need to do a clean reinstall of the software to makes sure all registry and files have been completely removed:

    Then we need too reinstall the 4.2 software, taking into account the Vista considerations for install:

    After install reboot the PC, start DM, Pull the battery while the device is ON, replace after a minute,
    Let the device reboot 1-3 min,  Plug the BB into the USB cable, Go to synchronization options and rest the options to only
    Synch the calendar, sync for two way, select no other programs. Start the sync process.

    ever since installing iCloud, when I sync my Blackbery calendar I get an error msg. When I click on calendar in the Blackberry sync software, it says "no writable calendars available for syncing on this computer, please launch iCal and create a new writable calendar." How do you do that? Under iCal, preferences, accounts - I now see iCloud.

    If your wife is using that email address on your device, it won't work.
    If your wife uses a BlackBerry device, the easiest way is to create a BBm group that will include you and her. In that group, you have a shared calendar.

    Let me explain my situation. I work at a small private company and we have a common schedule that we'd like to sync among all of our iPhones. I have several questions in that regard:
    1. We run Windows XP computers at work. Can one of them be used to store the "master" copy of the schedule calendar?
    2. I have my own calendar dates set up on my iPhone, so if I do the sync with our schedule calendar will my own dates be overwritten?
    3. Will it expose dates off my own iPhone calendar to the rest of the people who we sync it with?

    I wouldn't recommend you set things up that way. Instead, if everyone had a Gmail account(Free), you could setup your work calendar under one of the accounts and share that calendar with everyone else. Doing things that way keeps everyone's private calendar private, the "public" calendar, "public", and since you're syncing over the air, no risk of wrong boxes checked on a common PC mucking everything up.

    In the settings in itunes, Info > Advanced all the small "boxes" should be unmarked. Then it should sync both ways.

  • IPod wont sync - says corrupt no matter what i do

    I have a late 2009 iPod that has had games put on it - how do i get them off?  All of the music and everything has been wiped off.  The iPod freezes iTunes and everything else when connected.  I have reset it, then tried to restore it (when I finally get the message to restore), then it gives the message about being corrupted again.  I have updated iTunes, updated all Windows XP fixes - everything.  I have even gotten it in to disk mode and it still gives the corrupted error. I am almost certain that the issue is with the games (iQuiz, Klondike and Vortex) Any ideas?

    First try changing your iPod's Disk Letter as described in this Apple support document to see if it helps with the restore issue.

    Otherwise, try disabling any and all Firewall, AntiVirus, and other security software you have running on your system before connecting your iPod.  They may be causing the freezing issue.  See this article for more troubleshooting solutions.

    I just started having problems syncing my calendars from Outlook 2007/WinXP to my iPhone via iTunes, getting the "cannot sync" error. I tried following all the advice elsewhere on these boards -- deleting my backups and resetting sync history, using a different cable/USB port, etc., but nothing helped. I'm strongly averse to doing a backup/recovery unless I absolutely positively know it will fix it, and right now, I doubt that it will.
    I looked in the sync log files, and found this:

    So I suspect the problem lies here, and that it's complaining that some calendar records are somehow corrupt or otherwise problematic for the sync engine. However, I'm at a loss to figure out which items these are, or how to even narrow it down to a specific calendar -- it doesn't matter if I uncheck all of the calendars but one, I still get it no matter what, making me think it could be in a calendar I am explicitly NOT trying to sync.
    Or...given that the problem happens if I unselect all my individual calendars (the "Sync Calendars with..." remains checked), could the problem be corrupt records on the phone? I haven't tried removing the calendars entirely on the phone and replacing them, although that may be my next step, but if the sync continues to fail, I'll have NO calendar data (instead of just out-of-date data), which is far worse.
    Am I on the right track here?

    Well, the answer is that I was on the right track with the second suggestion. The problem seems to have been corrupt records on the phone itself. I checked the option to replace all calendar information on the next sync, then synced a second time, and everything restored fine. (Minus the calendar colors that I had arranged just so, but that's fixable with lots of re-syncing and patience.)

  • Active ID - unable to change no matter what I do

    I recently had to send my original blackberry 8900 back to the provider for a replacement model due to a fault it had developed. This has meant that the Active ID Desktop Manager (DM) uses to identify the device has changed. Since I dont now have access to the original device that DM was setup to work, with I am unable to use the Change Device feature to get this Active ID changed to the one of the new device. I have tried all number of ways of trying to do this including the following:
    Uninstalling current version (5.0) of DM and reinstalling it again
    Uninstalling current version of DM and installing version 4.7
    Generating a new email key
    When doing this I have followed the 'clean install' guides and removed all directories and keys from the windows registry and then rebooted before starting a new install. DM even recognises that its a new device and asks me do I want to change and even though I say [Yes] every time it still insists on using the original one.
    No matter what I do the same thing happens and the original Active ID is set. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to change it to the new one? Without changing the ID the redirection service will only try and send messages to the original device and not my current one.
    I have tried searching the net but all I can find is the steps I have already taken with no luck.

  • Syntax Error, no matter what

    I'm testing a simple formula in Numbers to prepare for a bigger one, but no matter what, I get a syntax error.
    I like to do the following:
    A2 : A11 contain the numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100
    In cell A12 I type the following formula:
    =COUNTIF($A$2:$A$11,">10")
    result: Syntax Error
    and in all variations I tried I get this syntax Error.
    I even tried to literally copy paste a formula from the helpfile:
    =COUNTIF(A1:A8, ">4")
    Still a Syntax Error!!
    What is causing this error?

    Yes, I am experiencing exactly the same problem when using Formulas (I tried FORECAST, amongst others). My system is in English, but in System Preferences > International > Formats it is set to Hungarian, so it uses "," as decimal separator.
    ";" worked for me as well. When I changed the system to U.S. number formats, the ";" didn't work anymore.
    Another thing gave me the same Syntax Error: it was a simple addition ( + ) but when I did the input of the cell references by clicking the cells in question, Numbers just interpreted the references as text (they didn't change colour from black). Writing directly the references (like A2 or B3) worked, though. It is strange because the problem doesn't seem to be consistent: sometimes it appears sometimes not. Maybe the same format thing is the reason...

    After downloading ios8 I have noticed that I have problems syncing my calendars to and from my phone and computer. I have tried a variety of solutions:
    1) I have turned "on" the sync button on the phone under settings -> mail, contacts, calendars -> icloud -> calender "on"
    2) I have checked the box under system preferences in the macbook under iCloud -> calender "on"
    3) I have tried deleting both from the computer and the phone and then reloading them.
    I'm out of ideas. I deleted a lot of things to make room for ios8 on my phone, so I am wondering if I disabled something or prevented syncing then, because it has been happening for about ~2 weeks since I downloaded the new software. Any ideas?

    First make sure the events are being added to your iCloud calendar and not a non-iCloud calendar such as On My Mac, On My iPhone, Gmail, Yahoo, an exchange account, etc.
    If you are and they still aren't syncing, the first step is to determine if the issue is with your phone or your Mac.  Add a new calendar event on each one, then check your calendar on iCloud.com to see which one doesn't appear there.
    If the event from your phone doesn't appear on iCloud.com, try force-closing the calendar app and resetting your phone.  To do this, double-tap the home button, locate Calendar, swipe up on it to close it, then tap the home button again.  Then reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.  After it restarts, test your calendar again.  If it still isn't syncing, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out, choose Delete from My iPhone and provide your password when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud.  Then sign back in (your data will download back to your phone) and test your calendar again.
    If the even from your Mac doesn't appear on iCloud.com, go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all of the prompts (your data will still be in iCloud), restart your Mac, then go back and sign back in (your data will download back to your Mac).  Then test your calendar again.
