Problem Tabbing in Adobe Reader X

When trying to fill out forms in Adobe Reader X, I get an incredible amount of lag when tabbing. The hourglass icon pops up with what looks like some sort of calculator symbol attached. It takes five to ten seconds to tab over to the next field in the form. I have Reader X installed on another machine but it does not seem to have the same problem. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks for any help.

If you see the calculator icon, it means the form is set up with automatic calculations. Each calculation is performed whenever any field value changes, in the order defined by the field calculation order, which is set when the form is created. When there a lot of fields with calculations involved and/or the calculations are complex or not well designed or circular, there can be long delays like you're seeing. There's not much you can do about it with Reader short of disabling automatic calculations or JavaScript, but if you do the form won't behave as intended.

Xfdf post problem introduced in Adobe Reader 9.1.2?

Hi,
In the past couple weeks, we've had many customers reporting errors with using the xfdf post-back feature of Adobe Acrobat docuements we use.
They said this was not a problem before they upgraded to Adobe Reader 9.1.2.
I have not been able to reproduce the problem here with Adobe Reader 9.1.2, but I'm guessing that maybe their configuration is slightly different from my test configuration of machine/Adobe Reader 9.1.2...
To summarize how we use xfdf post-back:
1.) The Adobe Acrobat .pdf has a button image with the Acrobat variant of javascript handling a "button push" to do an http post of the xfdf data to our server.
2.) The server then processes the xfdf data.
This has always worked fine in the past, but would appear to (under some yet unspecified client-side circumstances), cause an error. Note: the server-side appears to not be the root of the problem because the same server is used with the client-machines (client-machines meaning the acrobat plug-in inside an IE browser) that do work, and also with the client-machines that don't work.
Additional note: The client-machines that do work...always work. The client-machines that don't work, never work.
Attached is a screenshot of the Microsoft Fiddler (protocol monitor tool) request and response data of the xfdf post.

Thank you very much for your response but unfortunately none of the suggested solutions have worked. When pressing F8 then F8 again, the picture icon toolbar toggles between not being shown and then being shown again so no Save options appear. When pressing F9, nothing happens at all. When pressing Ctrl+Shift+S an adobe message appears in the middle of the screen stating the following "This document does not allow you to save any changes you have made to it unless you are using Adobe Acrobat 9, Pro 9 or Pro Extended 9. You will only be saving a copy of the original document. Do you want to continue?" It then prompts you with "OK" or "Cancel". Upon pressing "OK" absolutely nothing happens. I have seen this type of message many times before when trying to save pdf files and it has successfully saved the file but for some reason nothing happens in this version of adobe reader. Do you have any other thoughts at all as to how to solve this?

In adobe reader x when you go to a specified page nothing happend in the example, when you then use the TAB then de example wil go to the specified page.

PDF files have to be specially enabled for you to save the contents. It appears the old version of these files had this capability, but the new version does not. Without Acrobat you will be unable to save the files. If these are truly government files, you can try going to the government's website and see if you can download a copy that will allow you to save the form field data.

Problem with updating Adobe reader 9.4.6.252

Hi, I am new at this so here goes.
I am having a problem with downloading Adobe Reader 9.4.7. Every time I start the update it freezers my entire computer.
The only way of fixing the problem that I have found that works is to turn the entire computer off.
I am running with windows XP SP3.
Can anybody help please.

Problemas para imprimir adobe Reader 11

Buen dia Sres de Adobe.
Tengo un problema con el Adobe reader 11.
Al mandar a imprimir cualquier archivo a cualquier impresora no envia nada, no aparece ninguna barra de progreso y no se imprime nada.
Ya intente desinstalandolo, apagar el quipo, reiniciarlo y voviendo a instalar el programa, pero aun asi continuo sin poder imprimir.
Al principio pense que era problema del archivo, pero ya intente con otros (que ya habia impreso anteriormente) y tampoco se imprimen.
Espero me puedan apoyar con este problema.
El sistema operativo es Windows 7

No, no somos de Adobe. Como indica el título esto es un Foro de Usuarios.
Prueba a descargar un script para limpiar la instalación de Acrobat Reader, reinicia entonces e intenta instalar de nuevo Acrobat Reader XI

(Problem with arrows )Adobe Reader doesn't work correctly

I've problem with Adobe Reader plug-in. When I have open tab with pdf file, my arrow keys don't work in other tabs in firefox, only in this tab where it's open pdf file. Also I noticed that when trying to use the arrows in the other cards, they work on a pdf file.
I'm tried to uninstall and install again Adobe Reader, but it doesn't work. Please help.

I solved the problem by reinstall Firefox, because when i turned off Adobe-plugin my pdf file still worked , but arrows still didn't worked. I think, that it wasn't problem with adobe plugin.

Problem printing from Adobe Reader .pdf with Brother printer from a Mac

I have a macbook pro with Intel Core i7 and OS X Yosemite and Brother MFC-7360N printer connected by wifi. My problem is that I can print everything from all programs except from the Adobe Reader .pdf that do I print from my Preview files .. The error I get is "Error filter". Does anyone know where can originate the error and how to fix it?

Problem in installing Adobe Reader X

I wanted to install Adobe Reader X on my notebook(with no internet connection).I copied the Adobe folder from my PC to the notebook and tried to install Adobe Reader X by clicking the related exe file,but it didnt help.
The exe file,which was AcroRd32.exe,when clicked says that "Adobe Reader cannot open in Protected Mode due to a problem with your system configuration.Would you like to open Adobe Reader with Protected Mode disabled?".
When I tried to open it with Protected Mode disabled,it gave a fatal error saying that "Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL".
No such error occured with earlier versions of Adobe Reader. There, the exe file automatically started the installation process.
Is it not possible to upgrade my Reader to X from 9.1?
(I saw a similr thread elsewhere but there the error was different and the solution talked of some whitelisting,which I am not aware of)

You cannot use Reader X until it has been installed. Installing means that the appropriate configuration has been entered into the Windows Registry. Copying a folder from another computer doesn't achieve that goal.
Here's what I suggest you do now.
Run this Microsoft fix first of all: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Uninstall via Reader via Add/Remove Programs
Download and install Reader X from here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/
P.S. There are some programs which are so called 'Standalone' apps. That means that the executable will run without using a system's processes. But Adobe Reader isn't one of them.

Can someone please help me resolve this problem? I had no problem using Adobe Reader 8 but since removing Adobe Reader 8 and download the updated Adobe Reader 9, I cannot open any pdf files or the Adobe Reader 9 (on desktop) without receiving the following error message:
"Adobe Reader 9.3 has encountered a problem and needs to close". I tried several times to download and reinstall Adobe Reader 9 without any success. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks very much for your reply. I have an Epson Aculaser M2000. I have checked the drivers for Yosemite and they are still to be updated...so this may be the problem. However, I can print word documents and through preview, but I only have a problem with adobe. I am really a novice so I am not sure about the second part of the question. When I get an error message it is long and complicated with heading saying:
"pdfoescape quit unexpectedly".

How do I reorganize tabs in Adobe Reader 9.5.5 for Linux?

In Adobe Reader 9.2 for Linux, it was possible to just drag and drop tabs, to re-order them occording to ones needs. Do I have to enable some optin to get this running in Adobe Reader 9.5.5?
