Problem to display categories and forums

Hi folk,
We are trying to set up collaboration forums. We have created some categories (with their own forums) and forums under Root Category.
However, when we access to the forum iView (user view), categories and forums created do not appear.
Where is the problem?

We have the same setting in two different EP7. In one, categories and forums are visible, but in the other one, not.
Maybe permissions?
First portal (that works correctly ) uses "j2ee_admin" in the permisssions summary section and the other one uses "Administrator" in the same section. However, the permissions summary is equal in both administrator users.

I have a problem when using Google Maps, at some point my computer blanks the window and says there's a problem with display drivers, and it has recovered,but it doesn't. Problem doesn't happen with Int Explorrer, so I do not believe it is the computer

When using google maps through Firefox, after asking for a place which is not the general North America section which routinely comes up, the firefox screen goes white, with a narrow banner at the top. A message appears in the lower right corner which says something about display drivers having had a problem, but now have recovered. However the display doesn't recover and the banner message is that Firefox is not responding. When I go to restart Firefox if I go to the restore point, the page is still frozen out.
I do not believe it is a problem with my computer because it doesn't happen if I use I.E. to go to google maps, then G-maps works normally.
This phenomenon did not happen before the latest upgrade to either Google or Firefox. I have used Fiefox for a number of years and also Google Maps on previous computers and on this one, and not had this before.
This is a relatively young computer (Asus EeSlate 121) less than a year old. I have used Firefox since I bought it and until recently had no problem with Google Maps.

I solved it myself, after the "note" which came back from FF/Mozilla just as I finished my message, commenting on what it was that my system had , I wnnt back to check my plug-ins etc. I downloaded the latest Java, BOTH 32bit AND 64 bit versions and latest Firefox.
Now all is working.

Photoshop 3D Problems with displaying shadows and wireframe

Hi there,
I need to create some textures for 3D objects for our semester project in uni and it's quite practical to do that in Photoshop. I'd like to paint on the 2D texture (new window) and check from time to time if everything fits. But I got two problems that make it quite hard:
1. Problem occures when using my Laptop: There are almost no shadows. I tried to play around with the settings, but it doesn't affect the displayed model in any way. It always looks the same way you can see here:
My Laptop is probably not the best system, but it actually fits the minimum system requirements. Nevertheless I think my graphics chip might be not good enough, or what do you think?
Dell Vostro 3350, Windows 7 64 bit, Intel Core i3-2330MCPU @ 2.20GHz, 8GB RAM (2GB VRAM), Intel HD 3000, 1TB SSHD.
2. Problem: I also tried to work on my Dad's PC, which doesn't have such a good graphics card but is in total much better than my laptop of course:
Windows 7 64 bit, Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 12 GB RAM, ATI FirePro V3800 (FireGL V) (512MB VRAM).
The Problem that occures when using my Dads PC is: It somehow cannot show me the wireframe of the object (that would work with my laptop -.-). When I go to the menu 3D most of the options are grey and always not clickable. Same for the 3d --> create painting overlay --> wireframe (I need that). I've seen it in a Youtube Tutorial that it actually SHOULD work. I created a new texture for the model, went to "Edit Texture", it opens the texture in 2D in a new window without showing the wireframe (and I also cannot use the function under 3D painting overlay). When I open the texture with my laptop, it immediately shows me the wireframe ...
Those two problems make it almost impossible for me two work on the textures. If I could at least work on one of the two systems ...
So if anyone has an idea how I could solve at least one problem, I'd be really happy. I need to hurry a bit ... those technical problems already cost me a lot of time and I don't want to miss our project's deadline. :S

ATI Radeon 2600 PROBLEM: First display wide and second not in mirror mode?

Hi all, I bought a new mac pro with ATI Radeon HD 2600, my problem is this: I have one LCD monitor widescreen 1680x1050 that i use like primary display and one normal CRT television 800x600 that i use like second monior... If i set the "mirror mode" on display the clone reduce automactly my LCD to not wide monitor and i see two black row... Is it possible use the mirror mode in two different monitor? it works only at 1024x768 not 1680x1050 is the video card not enough power? Should be fixed that thing ? Regards

You did not understand the true intent of mirror displaying, which adjusts to the lower specifications of the two screens. You would not like to see your CRT display have to accept high bandwith 1680x1050 signal and fry would you ?
Neither is the reduction of the content of a 1680x1050 screen to a 800x600 acceptable, and not only because of the width/height different ratios : text would be pure garbage, except in huge fonts.
So your mac pro adjusted the display to the 800x600 your crt can accept, as my macbook would when connecting to a video projector for presentation, when in mirror mode.
This is obviously the best choice it could have done, you see...
Now, if you want to keep best resolutions in both screen, then you have no other option than to use extended desktop.

How to display first "n" number of pages with one set of header and footer and the next "m" number of pages with other set of header and footer?

we can try doing this,...
but not based on page number ,
page number will not be available during this time, it will generated during the rendering time, so the condition of Page number may not help,
if we can find a way to identify the logic to display FOOTER A or B in the page based on something else, wee can do that..
create a two named templateA and B , and call them according to the logic to b displayed.

Problem with display driver

Hello,
Im using Photoshop CC and when it starts up it sometimes gives me this error message:
'Problem with display driver and has temporary disabled enhancements which use graphics hardware.'
What does this mean?
Then it tells me to download the latstest software and gives me a link to an Adobe site that tells me nothing about a sollution.
About my mac:

Problems with display of preview - and Adobe's tech support.

Hello, all.
After quite a bit of struggle I am still experiencing problems with the way Bridge CS5 displays previews. Previews are displayed with rather low quality. By that I mean low resolution that causes images to appear pixelated and out of focus. I've tried every possible setting in Bridge (or at least I think I have) but nothing seems to work. The setting that forces Previews to be built to the specific monitor size of the computer used doesn't work for me as I spend equal amounts of time working between my Macbook Pro 17" and my Apple 30" cinema display that have different resolutions. I've tried this setting and the preview images created on the notebook would not display at all on the 30" display.
I have contacted support only to find it is nearly non-existent. A voice obviously from someone located in India answered and kept asking what I considered to be basic questions and must have used the word "apologize" at least 20 to 30 times (no exageration) during the 1 hour and 43 minutes we were on the phone to accomplish nothing other than to "register" my complaint.
What is happening to Adobe ? This is not a joke, a rumor or an angry comment but rather a serious question from a user who has built a professional workflow based on the use of Adobe's products. I have been an user of the Adobe Creative Suite since its very first version and of the individual applications even before then. Bridge is one of the applications I use the most in my workflow that involves the organization of my large database of medical images I keep from my treatments and research. So this is very serious to me. I am now on the phone with Adobe waiting again to speak with someone in technical support. I was told the average waiting time would take between 35 and 50 minutes and I didn't think it would be possible but so far I have been on hold waiting for 1 hour and 7 minutes and someone has yet to answer the phone. What is happening with Adobe ? Is the company about to go out of business ? The last time I remember experiencing such a lack of support from a company I did so when contacting Polaroid and we all know what happened to it.
To make matters worse I have twice contacted Adobe and asked their technical support agent to remove a phone number that they seem to have mistakenly written as a contact number in my files. More than one month after I registered my support request I finally received an e-mail stating that had tried to contact me at the phone that isn't mine and shouldn't be a part of my records despite the fact I have instructed them twice to remove. There are serious legal implications here as I am bound to confidentiality when it comes to the medical information I manage with my Adobe applications and the idea that someone in technical support may accidentally share this information with a stranger while calling the wrong number is a serious problem.
What is going on ?
Outside of this forum I have no idea who to contact and if it is even worthwhile doing so as it may prove to be a huge waste of time.
Bridge has been a problem application since its inception. In fact the only version of Bridge that seemed to have worked (somewhat) right out of the box was the first one. I have experienced problems with Bridge with every single new version. Previews that don't display properly, crashes, folder hierarchy indicators not displaying properly, and others. The same images display fine if I open them in Apple's OS X Preview or Photoshop CS5. The problem is restricted to Bridge. All images are RAW high-quality images from a professional Canon EOS 1Ds MK II camera with a 17 megapixel full size sensor, and they always look stunning on everything else.
What is one to do ???

I have it always set to manual.

I've tried both choices for both options. My usual default options are 'Software Rendering' unchecked as I have a new Macbook Pro (only a few months old) and the graphics card is powerful enough to handle the previews and 'Monitor Previews' also unchecked.

Their native resolutions: 1920 x 1200 for the MBP 17" built-in display and 2560 x 1600 for the 30" cinema display.

No. I have this option checked for both Battery and Power Adapter.
On Bridge's interface upper right hand corner I have also selected using one of its pull down menus the following options:
' Always High Quality ' and ' Generate 100% Previews '

I am having a problem with display and loading problem on my macbook pro.

when i am trying to login into my user account on my macbook pro. it just starts loading but after that it doesnt display anything and keeps on loading for hours.Also when i logged into guest user it asked me to restart for the safari use only and after using that option i am just able to use safari with the displaying problems.please reply mw with an answer.

Strange Problems With Display and Permissions Since 10.5.1 update.

Since I've done the 10.5.1 update I have been having a strange problem with my desktop and dock displays. On my desktop I have these strange lines that appear any time I log in or open any application, the lines never go away and change locations on the screen once I open an application or move a window. My dock has the reflective shelf for about half of it, the rest is a dull grey. I've also had problems with verifying and repairing my permissions. I can never actually complete either permissions task. I've used some third party apps, they always fail as well. The only time I can actually repair my permissions is by booting in to single user mode and doing a fsck -f command. When I boot back in to Leopard and try to use the Disk Utility to repair, it continues to fail.
I'm not sure if the video problem I am having stems from a permissions issue or possibly a corrupt video driver. Either way, I've done a lot research and haven't found anyone with the same problems I have been having so I thought I would give these forums a shot.
I am using a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver with dual 800Mhz, 1.5gb RAM, and a GeForce4 Ti 4600 128mb video card.

If anyone could lend some light on this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

Ibooks doesn't display featured and categories panes in iOS 6

Since I upgraded to iOS 6 on my iPad 3 a week ago, iBooks no longer shows the Featured or Categories panes in the application. Is anyone else having this problem?

The Photoshop and/or Bridge forums would be more likely places to get answers to your questions. This forum is inhabited more by programmer types interested in implementing the XMP specification in applications we write.
I'd expect CS2 to ignore CS1 panels so I doubt that's the issue. Panels don't interfere with each other--they just offer different views of the data. In any case, move the extra panels to your desktop and see what happens.
As far as I know, all you need to do on the Mac is drag the CS1 application folder to the trash to uninstall it.

If you have an external drive equal to or larger than your internal HD, clone your internal to it with either Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper. Test the clone to make sure it's bootable. Then upgrade either one. Try it out first.

After the first subfolder, all the photos are mixed. Any idea how to keep my original organization just transferring from PC to the Ipad (folder having a subfolder also having another subfolder)?

The Photos app doesn't currently support subfolders, it only has the one level of folder/album. You will either need to change your folder structure on your computer to be just one level, see if there is a third-party photo app in the store that copes with subfolders, or just make do. Display Problem--Lines around icons and mouse

My Dell monitor attached to the Mac Mini recently shows faint lines and hatchings around the mouse curser, moving along with the cursor, and also appears around the header of the desktop, dock and the icons for folders,etc. When the screen goes in sleep mode and the screen saver comes on the resolution is really bad with these same lines cutting through the images. Furthermore, the drop down menu displays the same hatchings and lines but appears all over the menu.
I've tried resetting the resolution and that did not change it. I thought the computer got too hot and put it on top of an external fan pad, but the lines and hatchings are still there. I connected the monitor to my lab top and the lines and hatchings are not there.
Could this be a problem with the video card or ram?

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
While this could be a hardware fault, specifically the ATI video subsystem and it's 32Mb VRAM, it could also be something simple such as a connection in the video cable.
First thing to try is to unplug the video cable (and adapter if used), and the cable at the display end, and then reconnect everything,making sure it is very tightly reconnected. Once the system is rebooted, if the problem still exists, as a double check that it isn't the cabling, gently press down and sideways on the connectors to see if there is any change or flickering in the image. If there is, then the connectors may not be making a solid connection.
If the cabling isn't the problem, there are two things to try next:
Firstly, perform a PMU reset to ensure the video subsystem is being correctly powered.
To reset the PMU
- Unplug all cables from the computer, including the power cord.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Plug in the power cord while simultaneously pressing and holding the power button on the back of the computer.
- Let go of the power button.
- Press the power button once more to start up your Mac mini.
If that doesn't resolve it, download and run YASU (it's available at www.versiontracker.com), setting it to perform all tasks except deleting cookies. Leave it to run, without using the system for anything else while it does it. This will clear out system caches and perform a range of other spring cleaning type activities and then force the system to reboot when done. The reboot will be slower than usual and the first few minutes afterwards the system will also be a little slow as it rebuilds the cache files, but this can often resolve odd behavioral problems of this sort.
If the problem persists after that, please post back.

You should be able to link your phone number by following the steps in the article below. From your iPhone, sign out of FaceTime and iMessage and then sign back in and it should link. Check in the Start Conversation With and I Can Be Reached at section in iMessage and FaceTime respectively.
