I juzt bought the freehand with the iMac today, but facing a problem on install it. And call & emaill & online chat with the adobe ppl, no one can answen the question.
Adobe give me a good reply: we are no support macromedia software.

There is a discussion immediately below yours on the forum index that shows that FH is not compatible with Lion (OS10.7).
Return the software for a refund if you are able.

As you have discovered... you cannot use the install discs from another Mac...

When I try starting Photoshop, for example, it tells me uninstall then reinstall the product OR contact product support.
However, when I phone product support, it says there is no product support for CS3 and to go to the Forums.

Unable to install FlashPlayer 10.3 on my new iMac

I am experiencing the same problems other people note about this new version. I have attempted numerous times to install it, uninstall it, re-install it. It says it is installing it and there is something there to remove, but it doesn't work and my favorite apps tell me I still need to install the latest version? Dangit, the earlier version worked brilliantly, but now it's lost and the game web-sites keep insisting they have to have this one.
The Adobe trouble shooting site was not helpful. I could not figure out how to use it and it did not appear to scan my computer looking for the installed program. Couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.
My browser is the latest version of Safari on a brand new iMac. Thought my problems would be over when I converted to Apple, but guess that was naive.

Hi, You can try the manual method. I'm not sure if any of Flash Player was installed or not, but to be sure, I'd download and SAVE the Uninstaller per this site for the Mac.

Then go to this site and download and SAVE the Installer either to your Desktop or the location for Mac.

Close all browsers windows and reboot after Uninstalling and then Reboot after Installing.
I think also Mac users are supposed to repair permissions after Installing, by running Disk Utility.

Error when installing jam pack/audio content on new imac

Keep trying to install the audio/jam pack cd´s that came with my Logic Studio bundle on my new Imac/Leopard. When i´m almost done installing, it asks for the "logic" cd and then after a while i´m getting an error "installation failed"- disk corrupted" or something? I cannot as it works now find (almost) any of the audio files that i´m using (brass/horn sounds etc..). Anyone who´s had the same experience?

Problems trans files from Mac Mini to a new iMac

I'm trying to help a friend of mine, who is a senior citizen. He's had a Mac Mini for a couple of years now but recently purchased the 27" iMac due to being technically blind. The iMac provides a way to use speech and other accessibility features that will help him. He had another senior friend of his come over and he went through the steps to setup the New iMac but he skipped the step for transferring files. When I first examined the Mac Mini, I noticed that a program called "MacKeeper" keeps popping up, stating that there are 314 problems found. I didn't know much about this program until I looked it up online and found out that it carries Malware. I have no idea what else he may have done with the Mini because I'm trying to put the pieces together for this puzzle.
Here are my questions:
1. I researched MacKeeper and it states that "if MacKeeper's encryption feature was used, be sure to unencrypt before you uninstall MacKeeper. Is there a way to tell if anything was encrypted? The info on MacKeeper said that if you don't unencrypt those files first, you will not be able to access them later. I want to get MacKeeper uninstalled and then make sure that his Mini Mac is clean before I begin transferring files. I know that Mac has security features built in but I really don't want to take a risk of transferring Malware, Trojans, etc.. over to the new iMac. What should I use to clean the Mini Mac?
2. When I tried connecting the two Macs together via Ethernet, the iMac could not find the Mini Mac. Do I need to restart the Mini Mac by holding down the "T" key or is that only for Firewire? I can't use a Firewire cable because the iMac doesn't have a Firewire port. Is there something else that I need to do to make the Ethernet connection work?
3. When Migration Assistant runs, will it pull over any new Apps that were added to the Mini Mac? He has an 1Password App that he already has setup and needs.
4. Finally, if the above items are not recommended, would it be better to restore the iMac back to factory and start over, so that I can use the transfer files option during the setup?
I'm sorry that I've asked so much but I really don't know where to begin with this mess. Any help would be much appreciated.

Many have tried in the past to Transfer Pro Apps but few... if any... have succeeded...
So do a Fresh Instal from the Original Discs and you will save time and heartache...

Installing 6.0.3 on a new iMac

so, after years of never having the time to learn Adobe Premiere, i've instead decided to switch from PC to Mac. my intent is to make a documentary from DV footage (non-HD) that will be somewhat professional looking, with audio music and narration inserted, titles/subtitles, etc.
my new iMac will presuambly have iMovie 09, but it sounds like for image quality and access to NLE, it might be worthwhile to download 6.0.3.
so, my questions are:
1. for the purposes of creating a semi-professional documentary (and also considering that since i never taught myself how to use Premiere, it's probably wisest to avoid FC/FCE), is iMovie 06 indeed my best bet (06 vs. 09)?
2. is downloading/installing 6.0.3 on my new machine that comes pre-installed with 09 going to be a problem? i've read that the install should happen in the opposite order.
3. can you, or would there be any point (e.g. taking advantage of particular features?) in, switching between 06 and 09 for the same project?

If you want to continue not learning a product equivalent to iMovie 6, the you should really be looking at Final Cut Express for the needs you describe.

Installing Time Machine backup to a newer iMac

My old Intel iMac has died and I am getting a newer iMac. Both Macs have Lion installed and I want to install backups from Time Machine to the newer iMac. Is this a straight forward operation or will it cause me some grief?
My old iMac was a late 2006 iMac 2.16ghz and the newer one will be an early 2008 iMac 3.06ghz.

Trying to install iwork '09 from dvd on new imac with no dvd drive.....iwork is brand new (bought off ebay) in unopened box....I have at my disposal an older imac with dvd drive and a 16GB thumb drive...what is best way to load iwork on the new imac?

First use Disk Utilty to make a disk image of the iWork disc on your iMac. Then there are two easy ways to install on your mothers new iMac. One is to copy to your USB thumb drive, visit your mother and install from the thumb drive. The other is to use a free upload and download service like www.wetransfer.com. Upload the .dmg disk image via www.wetransfer.com, then your mother downloads and installs. After installation you'll need to update iWork for Mountain Lion compatibility.

I am trying to install Windows on a new iMac w/3TB Fusion drive. The system crashed on my first attempt but appears to have partitioned the drive correctly before crashing??? So, what size partition does Windows 8 need to operate effectively? Is "more" better??? or just over-kill? And, has anyone installed Winodow 8 on an iMac...and how did it work? P.S. I configured this iMac with the i7 processor 3.5GHz with Turbo Boost to 3,9GHz. When I select "About this Mac" it diplays my i7 processor as a 3.4GHz instead. Do you think they ran out of the i7 3.5GHz and shoved a i5 3.4Ghz in the iMac to meet deliver schedule??? I there a way to check the real-time speed of my processor??.

You either burn a disk image of your CD (using Disk Utility) on a mac that still has a drive and transfer the disk image on a thumbs drive or network, or download the Aperture 3 Trial Installer.

After running the Trial installer go immediately to Software update in the -menu, and only after updating to the most recent version launch Aperture and enter your registration code to unlock the Trial. Then launch it by double clicking your Aperture Library or clicking the Aperture icon.
