Problem to open a BPF from an external domain

Hello expert,
We are using an external adress server name in BPC for our external users that can not access to the intranet server name.
The users can logon to BPC and use all features except for the BPF.
Indeed, if they click on "Open business process flow", the url that is being opened is the "internal" one (specified in the "Application Server name" field in server manager) rather than the one we specified in the "External Server Name" field.
As this adress is unknown from outside, the users get an error message "page not found"
Why, all the other features use properly the external server adress but not the BPF features ?
We are in single server... I checked the serverinfo sql table but all is ok (same content as the server manager info).
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Kind regards,
Lionel

The problem is the configuration of Server.
Normally you have to use the external name into configuration of Server Manager for web and application server.
The best practice is to use just the external name when you input web and application server for both fields (internal and external). Into DNS or into host file of application server you should specify that external name is resolved with IP of application server.
If you will do that your BPF will work also for external users.
Kind Regards
Sorin Radulescu

    It should unzip if you double-cick.
    What are you seeing happen when you do that?
    Select a .zip file in the Finder and Get Info (cmd-i). What is set for it to Open With. It should be Archive Utility.

    is anyone experiencing problems with opening mission control from the desktop.  Running mountain lion with parallels 7 and windows 7

    I had been having a similar problem on Lion with Safari pdf files despite downloading the latest Adobe Reader XI.
    I would constantly get the same messages - There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired. And I would get a blank page when I tried to print the pdf if I tried printing from the Safari web page using File - Print from the top toolbar on my laptop.
    Then I came across the grey Safari lozenge with action icons.
    This allowed me, without downloading the pdf, to print the pdf file direct from the Safari page by using the Print icon on the grey lozenge that appears centrally three quarters down the screen.
    Then I discovered that if I save the pdf using the Save icon from this same grey lozenge on the Safari page I can open and print this pdf version from my desktop.
    I've tested it with a couple of different pdf files and these methods work using the grey lozenge icons but the same pdfs files don't work using File - Save As on the Tool Bar.

  • Getting problem to open Web Transaction from Portal

    User is trying to open one link from portal, which is SAP transaction iView.
    This calls one custom transaction from SAP R/3.
    This transaction is Easy Web Transaction and GUI support for it, is SAPGUI FOR HTML.
    Now the problem is, user is not able to open this link from portal. I can open this same link in my login. But this particular user can't.
    Whenever he tries to open this link, gets error message, 'Transaction ZXXXX can not be called in the Easy Access Menu; see long text' and instead of opening the transaction in browser, it opens SAP R/3 GUI.
    I have checked the portal content and found no error.
    Also asked user to login in my system, but got the same error.
    This user is able to access same link from Quality portal, but not from Production portal.,
    eventhough the data in both portals is same.
    What can be the error?
    Please give your expert comments. Thanks in advance.

  • Problems importing and playing songs from an external cd/dvd drive

    I am having problems importing songs on my PC from an external usb drive. What I have is an external combo usb firewire drive hooked up to my pc with a usb cable. (usb 2.0) When I launch itunes, it sees the cd I have loaded but when I go to import the songs, itunes just pops past each song in a second like each song was just a second in length. Then I have some corrupt file in my itunes library. Itunes gets the cd names and titles from CDDB correctly but can't play the songs or import them. I use this pc solely for playing audio, it is a Pentium 4 2.6 with 1GB of ram with build in usb 2.0 on the motherboard. There is no other software installed on the system other then virus software. When I use Windows Media Player the cd is read perfectly fine. I even play DVDs off the drive with no problems too. This problem in intermittent, with different cds. These are all commercial cds not burnt ones that someone made for me. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Toonz - I have exactly the same problem when trying to import songs - itunes does recognise the cd drive and names of tracks etc - it just won't play more than one second of each, or import any more. i did run the cd diagnostic check you suggested - results below - don't mean anything to me i'm afraid - any bright ideas?

  • Any problems running a 24inch iMac from an external hard drive.

    Six weeks ago I cloned my almost full 250GB internal hard drive onto a 1TB external hard drive and started to run the system from the external drive.About a week ago the sytem started freezing up and the bootup/login times got longer. Two days ago at bootup the display just showed a purpleish glow with no desktop etc.I have tried reseting PRAM, SMC and reseating the memory all to no avail.Having searched on the internet the conclusion is either the display has gone faulty or the graphics card/chip is faulty(both not desirable).Is this mearly a coincidence or is it the result of running the system from an external drive which has 'possibly' caused overheating os some other fault ?????????
    This system is a 2006/7 24-inch Intel iMac.

    The difference between safe mode and normal is that in safe mode only the minimum number of kernel extensions are loaded. Since the display works properly in safe mode that strongly suggests that you have one or more corrupt kernel extensions. I would recommend one of two things. First if you have not already done so, reinstall the operating system - you can reinstall a new operating system right on top of the current. If that doesn't work or if you'd rather skip that step, the second thing would be a clean install. Of course to do this you would have to erase the entire hard drive so if you don't have a current backup you want to do that first.
    However, since your original problems began after some crashing and freezing with the Extertal hard drive you might want to consider using a different drive if you choose the clean install route I suspect that your display problems go back to one of the early crashes which may have been caused by a hard drive issue. When the computer has issues but passes the extended hardware diagnostics I tend to suspect the hard drive. When the hard drive is an external drive my suspicion becomes even stronger. The weakest link of an external drive tends to be the electronics of the enclosure but since most external enclosures are in capable of passing on the SMART status of the drive mechanism itself it's hard to know which is the problem.

  • Cannot open the iPhoto from the external drive?

    I followed the procedure to copy the iPhoto Library of my Macbook to the external drive in order to free up disk space. However, the library on the external drive was not in the selection list after the pressing the "option key" and opening the iPhoto, as many have suggested. The iPhoto is version '08. This may be very dumb question. I tried to remove the "Picture/iPhoto Library" and then opened the iPhoto. The response was that " the iPhoto Library not found, etc."   It did not seen to recognize the external drive. I have exhausted my limited understanding on the subject. Appreciate greatly for any suggestion. The MacBook is down to about 5% free space.
    Thank you!

    Thank you so much for responding.
    The external drive I'd Seagate 500 GB, connected with USB. It is formatted as Journaled. This drive was used as the Time Machine drive before i installed the 2T Time Capsule. I like to relocate the iPhoto Library to the Seagate to free up the internal drive and hopefully a much faster response time on MacBook.
    I did what you described. However, the external drive (and copied Library) was not found after holding the Option key and launched iPhoto.
    I did the following tests:
    1) I could launch the iPhoto by double click the icon from either Picture/iPhoto Library or External drive/iPhoto Library.
    2) I modified a picture in either icon and the modification appeared in both.  It seemed, some how, that both libraries are linked.
    3) I used the Disk Utility to verify that the external disk is indeed Journaled. However I do not remember how I erased the old backup files from the external drive.  Do I need to reformat ED again to have a clean slate?
    Thank you much for your help!,

  • On trying to open a URL from an external program or a saved webpage I get an error saying "There was a problem sending the command to the program." It did not do this in the last version I was using, I am now using FIrefox 8.

    It somehow decided to fix itself? It just worked for some reason after I said something here (well, a few hours later).

  • I-tunes won't open my files from my external hard drive....

    I am trying to upload my files from my old ext. HD to my new one. And I tried doing it a few times, and it wasn't compltely working. Some files weren't copying over, and some files were just getting duplciated, and I had like 10 copies of the same file, so I deleted my whole I-tunes playlist on my actual I-tunes, and I have all of my files backed up. I keep getting a message that says "There is not enough room on your Mac HD to copy all the files. It will copy as many files as it can"
    I forced quit my I-tunes and I am trying to copy my files to the other HD and then add to playlist or import the files into my I-tunes, and hope it will open...any suggestion to what the problem is?

    I deleted my whole I-tunes playlist on my actual I-tunes
    That doesn't delete the music, just the Library. The music files remain, that's why you get a "space" message

  • Problems transfering iTunes Media folder from one external HDD to another.

    Hey Yinz.
    I'm running a MBP 13" 2.7Ghz Intel Core i7...OS X 10.6.8.  Recently the NAS that hosted my iTunes Media folder and library failed.  I recovered the drive from the NAS...a WD Caviar (WD2500JS), which was originally written in XFS.  After substantial effort, I found a process that would enable me to access this drive, and have my Mac read it. This involved a Newer Technologies Voyager Q, coupled with a recent version of (whatever they're calling) MacFuse.  It did so sucessfully.  Now what i want is to take my iTunes Media folder and library off of the WD, ex-NAS HDD (its original location), and transfer it to a new HDD.
    I bought a Toshiba Canvio basics usb 3.0/2.0.
    Most online tutorials describe dragging and dropping the folder in the new location.  I can connect both HDDs to my MBP, and the transfer will begin...
    But.
    After the first few minutes...The Finder will not allow me to complete the transfer.  I keep getting an error code -8084.
    I'm almost certain that the new HDD (which i formatted as Mac OS X Journaled in Disk Utility) is not recognizing special characters in certain file names in my iTunes Library.  I have some artists in my folder that require special characters to display their names properly.  I realize these were originally written in a Linux format.
    So, is there a way around this...other than changing the filenames?  I really don't want to destroy the integrity of my library by changing a bunch of characters that accurately identify artists.  I guess if all i had was Billy Joel and the Beatles in my library, i'd be Okay...but i don't.
    I also read a thread somewhere that suggested that error code -8084 relates to inadequate power distribution of an attached HDD.  This also complicates my problem...as the new external HDD (Toshiba) is bus powered, and lacks an option for a dedicated AC power supply.
    While i am able to access and use my iTunes as normal...i'm tied to that WD HDD, which is like, over 5yrs old, and i'm really hoping to get my media off that old HDD, and onto a new HDD with the files intact and accurate.
    Any help would be much appreciated and welcome.
    --j.m.
    P.S. I'm running iTunes 10.7

    No solid data here but it just seems to me that when I see issues arise about copying data and strange error messages that it has to do when people are using non Mac-formatted drives.  I think they kind of work but once you put them under real pressure you just get problems.   Maybe I'm just thinking of all those vague error -50 "communications difficulties" messages from people trying to copy their libraries to FAT drives.  I wonder if using Terminal to do the copying would help.
    Now, there is a difference between placing your media on a drive and your library on a drive.  Your library is your whole iTunes folder along with files such as the critical library.itl file and artwork files, etc.  Media are just what's in your media folder - music, movies, etc.  If you are moving your whole library you can drag and drop copy.  If you are moving your media you can drag and drop but then the new drive has to have the identical drive name as the old one (the old and new pathnames have to remain unchanged).  Usually the best way to move media is to use iTunes' preferences setting to consolidate your media to the new location.  iTunes very easily loses track of files unless you let it do the moving (exception: moving the whole iTunes library folder).
    iTunes 10 for Mac: Consolidate your iTunes library - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH990
    iTunes for Mac: Moving your iTunes Media folder - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1449
    vs.
    iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - a somewhat bewildering and not always easily understandable set of options.
    Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.

  • Problem with opening PDF files from JSF page using SDO

    Hi all,
    I'm new with JSF and was attempting to read a PDF file from a Database using SDO and JSF. The code below throws an exception when casting from DataObject to Blob. The getLcDoc() method was created by WSAD when I dragged an SDO relational record onto the JSF page. This method returns an DataObject type which I tried casting to a Blob type before using it further. However, an exception is thrown.

    Hi...I found out that there is actually no need to use a Blob object at all. You can simply call the OutputStreams write() method and pass the DataObject.getBytes() method that returns a byte[] array. The revised code is shown at the end of this posting.
    However, a few other teething problems exist:
    1. This works well only if I specify the content type in response.setHeader() method. What if my users upload different types of files, is there a way that the browser opens according to the file type without setting the content type?
    2. I still have a problem opening PDF files, even if I specify - response.setHeader("Content-type", "application/pdf");
    I get the message - The file is damaged and could not be repaired
    3. I would also like this to open the attachment in a new window and using target="_blank" doesn't seem to work as seen below:
    <h:commandLink
                                                 styleClass="commandLink" id="link1" action="#{pc_DocumentDetailsRead.doLink1Action}" target="_blank">
                                                 <h:outputText id="text5" styleClass="outputText"
                                                      value="Click Here"></h:outputText>
                                            </h:commandLink>
    ------------------------Revised code-----------------------------------------
    FacesContext faces = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
                   HttpServletResponse response =(HttpServletResponse) faces.getExternalContext().getResponse();
                   response.setHeader("Content-type", "application/msword");
                   response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "inline; filename=Attachment");

                   response.setHeader("Pragma","public");
                   ServletOutputStream os = response.getOutputStream();

    Sequence preset? I don't know anything. But I think that is unneceserry even to know. Because why sequence preset can be important? Preset is only a preset. So I can't see any reason preset was a main problem with it.
