Problem to open files

I can not open files (tiff, jpeg ...) in photoshop by double-clicking or by dragging and dropping (the alert is: "The document could not be opened. Photoshop can not open files in Adobe Photoshop JPEG file format") I can open just with the open menu.

You have to provide system information and other details.

Hi, I see your answer but I don't agree for 3 reasons:
    1 -  On numbers on mac the functions with ";" work good;
2 - I try to put the comma like your suggestion but the system show me an error on the formula with the red triangle
3 -  I read another time the online help about the instruction and is correct the ";"
Follow I put a short screen-shot of the instruction help:

  • Illustrator cs6 "this file cannot be found" problem when open file from network

I used to install the trial version of Illustrator CC on my desktop and then when the trial run out I decide to go with illustrator CS6 instead, So I decide to buy &
install Illustrator CS6 on our desktop and everything seem to be fine except
the problem is our .ai file is located on the network shared drive of the design team,
When we try to open the file from the network drive with illustrator CS6, it said "This file cannot be found"
    - we try to copy the file from network drive to our desktop and file can open without problem
    - if we directly double click the file from the network drive to launch the illustrator CS6 with that file. It's also fine, no problem at all.
    - but if we open the illustrator CS6 first and try open.. and then browse to that file on network, then "This file cannot be found" happen again.
    - Illustrator CS6 have no problem open file in the local harddisk.
    - Illustrator CC never have this problem open file in our network drive, try reinstall the Illustrator CC trial again and it can open without problem
    - I try using Adobe CC Cleaner tool to remove everything before reinstall the Illustrator CS6, still no luck.
    - Try remove the Adobe relate folder in user/user/Appdata and then reinstall, still no luck
    - Try right click and open with --> Illustrator CS6 , yes if we double click the file directly it's ok, but as mentioned if we open illustrator first then browse for the file, the problem happen.
Did I miss anything to fix it ?

  • Trying to create multithreading problems when opening file dialog

    Warning: Newbie to Labview...
I have a problem in a rather complicated VI where bringing up the open file dialog halts some background operations.
I would really like to reproduce this behaviour for various reasons, but am unable to. I've created a simple VI with a for-loop where the index feeds a sine converter which in turn feeds a tank indicator. This produces an oscillating behaviour. To this VI I've added a file dialog control.
Regardless of the multithreading setup, I'm unable to get the oscillating of the tank indicator to stop when the dialog is open. Is there something I can do to get this behaviour? I realize it's unusual to try to break things, but it is rather important for me.
    Tha
    nk you,
    Nigel

    Hi,
The for loop (all loops by the way) is halted until everything in it is
    finished.
    Try this:
    + Make a while loop
+ wire TRUE to the stop criterium.
+ Put an indicator on the 'I'.
+ Put a MS Wait in it (e.g. 80 ms), to prevent 100% processor time.
Run it, and the indicator will increase fast.
Now put any dialog in the while loop. E.g. a message box.
The indicator will increase everytime you press 'OK'.
Note: stop by pressing CTRL+. and clicking 'OK' several times.
    Regards,
    Wiebe.

  • I have a problem with opening files

When I try to open a file by using the ctrl+o or by going to the "open file" on the menu bar, it will not open the file I'm trying for.
It seems to hang the program or shuts it down completely.
This also happens when I hit the escape key or use the "cancel" button.
does anyone else have this trouble?

It should unzip if you double-cick.
What are you seeing happen when you do that?
Select a .zip file in the Finder and Get Info (cmd-i). What is set for it to Open With. It should be Archive Utility.

  • Problem with opening files in CDE

    Hi!
I have a problem with CDE. When I login as a normal user (not root) I can not open any file in my home directory or in its subfolders using dtfile (CDE File Manager).
When I double click on a text file I get the following error message:
The request to service this action has failed for the following reason:
TT_DESKTOP_ENOENT No such file or directory.
However I am able to read the file with a cat/pico command. It is also possible to open it from Text Editor. => The file exists.
PS. It might be a problem with automonting /export/home/user to /home/user, but I am not sure. I did not meet this problem in previous versions of Solaris.
    SYSTEM USED: Solaris 10 x86 / CDE 1.6
    Please help!

To test the automount hypothesis, you could create
a new user with a home directory someplace completely different and NFS-free, like /opt
    useradd -m -d /opt/testuser -s /bin/bash testuser
    passwd testuser
Then login to CDE as the user.
It does sound like there's something broken with $HOME/.dt
    cheers

  • Problems with opening files in correct app

    Hi guys
Recently we have switched over at my company to OSX tiger. I work for a design firm doing artwork for various clients in the retail sector. We have a bank of logos and images on file that we use, mostly Illustrator eps saved in version 10 of the application. We are having problems opening these files in the right app. It keeps defaulting to opening in Photoshop. When we change the settings in get info and apply them to all, all our photoshop eps try and open in Illustrator. This is proving a real pain especially when opening the files from Quark after double clicking on the image and pressing the edit original button. Is there any way we can tell the system to open Illustrator files in Illustrator and Photoshop files in Photoshop.
    Cheers Thom

    Hi, Thom.
You wrote: "We have a bank of logos and images on file that we use, mostly Illustrator eps saved in version 10 of the application. When we change the settings in get info and apply them to all, all our photoshop eps try and open in Illustrator."You are describing the procedure in "Mac OS X 10.4 Help: Changing the application that opens a document."
The problem is due to the fact that a given file type or extension, e.g. .eps, can be bound via "Change All" to only one application. If you bind (set the default application) all .eps to Illustrator, that's what they'll all open in.
For the situation you have, you need to bind the documents individually to the specific application. If you can gather a selection of the documents, you can use the contextual menu of the selection (Control-click or right-click the selection), hold the Option key, select "Always open with..." and select the desired application. The selected documents will open in that application and they will henceforth be bound to it until you again change the documents default application.
You can reset all the default bindings you've defined by using the Tiger-specific procedure in my "Resetting Launch Services" FAQ. Start with Step 6 since you also want to eliminate user-defined bindings.
    Good luck!

  • Problem with opening files

Okay so I've had a look around and can't see any other discussions about this problem,
Basically I started a new job on Monday and as part of that I had to set up my laptop which is a 2009 Macbook Pro with Mavericks.
The problem is that when ever I go to open a new file in any program for some reason it always defaults to the root of my hard drive rather than the last visited directory or even the root dir for my user. This is proving to be very annoying especially as when working on a project I have to keep navigating back to the same folder time and time again. Is there a way to stop this happening?
    Thanks in advance

To test the automount hypothesis, you could create
a new user with a home directory someplace completely different and NFS-free, like /opt
    useradd -m -d /opt/testuser -s /bin/bash testuser
    passwd testuser
Then login to CDE as the user.
It does sound like there's something broken with $HOME/.dt
    cheers

  • Pdf causes problem with opening files: help, please!

The operating system on my computer is Windows xp and I use Adobe version 11.0.6.
I am having a problem that arises when I get a warning message (particularly when opening pdf or xls files): "AcroRd32.exe - Application Error: The exception unknown software exception (Oxc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x00411e0b". I am then unable to open most files - pdf, xls, Word etc. - until I switch the machine off and then on. I have discussed this problem with Microsoft, who eventually said that it seems to be caused by something related to Acrobat software.
I should be grateful for advice or help from any participant in this forum.
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Problems with Opening Files

I am currently using CS5, but have CS4 still installed in my computer because in order to save a file to be opened with CS3, it has to go threw CS4.
My problem is that all of a sudden all of my InDesign files are opening with CS4. I recently reinstalled the CS4 because of saving files for past editions. does this have anything to do with my problem?
When I go to choose a program to open, it will open it with CS4. When I go to choose a program to open with, CS5 is not even listed. When I go to search for the program, CS5 is not listed, so I search for the program to open with, find CS5, click okay, but it doesn't even show. It will just open it with CS4. Why has this happened and what can I change to make CS5 the main program to open with?
Do I just have to unistall CS5 and then reinstall it?
    Thanks

It sure does. The operating system will default to the last version installed.
