Problem to play Netflix on Apple TV

I can play Netflix movie on Apple TV to start off, however, after a few moment, picture disappears from screen but can still hear sound. This is Apple TV was bought last week and latest software is installed. Any suggestion please?

Also if you have the first gen black box (the small one latest Apple TV) and upgraded it went from 720 to 1084 and the resolution is to much the the first black box Apple TV version cause there is not enough memory. If you where to buy a Apple TV today it will work cause there is more memory. You can turn down the resolution to 720 and things will go back to the way they were before.

Our purchased movies stop playing through apple tv as soon as you use the internet on ipad or iMac

We have unlimited internet, never had any problems before with connection. Have had apple tv for 12 months.
The last two days, apple tv is only playing previews and other apple option such as podcasts and youtube etc, but will not play any of our purchased movies. I have switched everything off at power source, including internet, restarted the the apple tv, logged out of apple id and logged back in. Checked location setting, checked the definition settings.
Nothing is working. The loading icon just spins, but the movie does not appear to be able to load.
I am able to load the movie on the lap top, but when I switch to apple tv, it reverts back to loading.
PLEASE HELP!

Problems getting American netflix on apple tv

I just bought a new iPad and apple tv yesterday. I have successfully manage to get the American netflix on all of my devices (iPhone, iPad and pc using the same dns code) but cannot get it on my Apple TV. I have tried switching the location to US, multiple Dns codes and netflix will still not open.
Since for some stupid reason you cannot AirPlay netflix from your iPad I am stuck with the ****** Canadian netflix on my tv.
Do the brand new Apple TV s have a special block???

Things like this happen when trying to circumvent the correct process.
If you're not in the US then you have no right to US content per content distribution contracts.
Take the issue up with Netflix and the content owners if you want to see content that is not natively available in the Canadian Netflix library.

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. I don't have the answer to this question, and yes, I checked the "I have the same question, too" box.. But so did 30 some other people.. So, I've scoured the web and looked high and low into the Apple TV device.. HOW CAN I DO IT? My playstation 3 did it[.. My WDTV box top I've had for 2 years can do it! My Smart Vizio TV [netflix app built in to the tv] can do it! My Apple ipad can do it. My iPhone can do it.. So, can my Apple TV do this? Or Not?

The movie must fully download to iTunes.
If you have an AppleTV1, have you downloaded a 1080p movie rental as it can't handle that, in which case alter your Preferences for downloads to 720p, contact iTunes Store support and see if they can re-enable the download or refund so you can rent again at 720p.
If you have black model ATV2 or ATV3, then I assume you are looking under the Computers icon where a new Rentals row appears in order to play rentals downloaded to iTunes.

Yes it is, the ATV is like an extension of your iDevice. Better yet, the ATV has its own Netflix app so you don't need your iPhone. Works like a charm.

Why can't I play netflix on my apple tv?

I purchased an Apple TV about 2 months ago. I had been watching Netflix on it just fine until 2 weeks ago. Now I get this error:

I have logged out and back in. I have unplugged and plugged back in.

Been having same problem for weeks. Try going into settings, to go bottom of menu and choose restart.

I'm having problems playing content on Apple TV

I am having problems playing content on Apple TV. I have home sharing turned on and I can browse to my music, photos, and videos. After I play a video or two, I am unable to play any more. Once it stops, I am also unable to play any music or display any photos. However, I am able to go to my laptop and play the exact same content through Airplay and have it display on the screen. After I either reboot the Apple TV or my computer or stop and restart iTunes, I am able to play a couple more until it happens again.

When I first started using the app, the volume was tuned to the minimum setting. I had to click on the picture to slide the volume over to right. Did you try that?

TS2972 After the most recent iTunes update, I'm having problems accessing my movies and TV shows on my Apple TV. I have to start the episode or movie playing on my iMac first before it will play on the Apple TV remotely. Ideas on how to resolve?

I'm running the updated versions of both the Apple TV software and iTunes.

How to eliminate subtitles when streaming Netflix through Apple TV?

When streaming movies from Netflix through Apple TV, sub-titles appeared and we canot find a menu or symbol to click to eliminate the sub titles. They carry over to our next item. How can I eliminate the sub titles. (This is only a problem with Apple TV. Able to eliminate them on computer or I Pad.

Push and hold the menu button while the content is playing. It will bring up a menu for captioning if the content has an option to chang it.

I can't stream netflix using apple tv?

Recently,, I've been having a problem when accessing Netflix on my Apple TV.
I go and select a movie from my list and it seems like its going to start playing and all I get is a spinning gear.
I've tried restarting Apple TV, that does nothing. I've checked my network settings and it shows a full strength signal.
I can switch to You Tube on Apple TV and videos play fine.
However, I can access Netflix using my PS3 and movies stream normally.
Can anyone provide some trouble shooting steps to try?

That indicates a network issue, the signal/network test on the device isn't going to be a proper indicator.
Try connecting via ethernet
Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network)
Get a network report by going to istumbler, netstumbler or similar. See what it says for signal strength, noise and nearby networks.
