Problem to see photos in APEX loaded in Forms 9i

I have a table employees with field "Photo" BLOB.
This table was filled from Forms 9i using WEBUTIL.
Now, i´m using APEX 3.1 to access photo but not view image.
I have a application Apex 3.1 to upload the news records and photos from Employees, and i see this new photos very well.
In this scenario when using Forms 9i i can see the all photo loaded in APEX and Forms.
Maybe somebody know why?

OTN response:
Checked with our knowledge database,we found the images which are stored by Oracle Forms is different with APEX.
When you read images into a forms and then commiting to the database, Forms will add a wrapper to the image.
It does this because Forms doesn't know what the file is to open it. So the wrapper tells it what it is.
Unfortunatly, Other applications (e.g. APEX) do not know how to deal with the wrapper.
It is the main reason why the APEX cannot display the image which is loaded by Forms in the database.
Therefore, please load the images in database by APEX application instead by Oracle Forms application.
Now, the solutions that load again all images is very hard.

  • Problems with seeing photos while working on the Ken Burns Effect

I am having difficulty seeing my photos when I use the Ken Burns Effect. All I get is a black screen. It won't let me adjust anything on the photos because the screen is black. Please Help

So I have kind of the same issue here but it is slightly different. I tried all of the tricks that have been posted here but I am getting the black screen on brand new pictures that are imported both with and without the ken burns effect on them. I don't seem to have the problems on pictures that are already in the video with/without the KB effect.
I have also tried to do it under another user account, downgraded iMovie HD 6 from 6.0.3 down to 6.0 and 6.0.2 and nothing seems to help. I have even removed the plists on both ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iMovie.plist along with anything in /Library/Preferences having to do with iMovie without any success. The only solution that I am resorting to is to just use a different computer all together or format the drive on my computer.
Any solutions? I have a video that needs to be down by the end of next week...

I am having a problem when I try to select a photo or itunes song in Imovie or other programs. I get a window with grey lettering that says: "Open Itunes to populate this list" or "Open iphoto to see photos from your iPhoto library in this list.  I have tried relaunching programs and nothing appears. Seemed to start happening a while back after one of my system upgrades.

After a a lengthy conversation with Apple Tech. ($20), my problem seems to be solves. The Iphoto problem solved by trashing the plist file. The Itunes was more involved. We had to create a new Itunes folder and import the files into the new folder; and then import the playlists.

  • Lightroom 6 Develope Module will not load files, can't see photos.

Lightroom Develop Module will not show files. I can see photos in library, film strip. I'm fully paid member of adobe cloud and registered. I've signed out and in again but this did not resolve the issue. The problem happened after moving from lightroom 5.7 to 6. All worked OK in 5.7, using canon 5D mark 2 CR2 files version 2.2. I have photoshop 2015 CC and when I go to camera raw ( version 9 ) The photos do not show here as well. Both are blue boxes with an X across the page just like in the Develop Module in Lightroom 6. Again files could be seen in ACR photoshop 2014. As am using the latest updates of lightroom and photoshop creative Cloud, not sure why I can't see files in the develop module in lightroom and in camera raw in photoshop ?
    By Michael.

I'm no expert on GPUs and graphics cards, so I suggest you read this thread:
GPU notes for Lightroom CC (2015)
My impression. though, is that most people don't experience a huge speed improvement using the GPU, myself included.
But this will probably change in future versions, at the moment only certain functions in the Develop module use the GPU.
As for differences in GPU support between Photosop and LR, I assume that PS supports older and less powerful GPUs than Lightroom does.
Edit: But the bottom line is that LR doesn't support GPU acceleration with you graphics card, so leave it off.

  • Facebook images, profile photos, cover photos are not loading. Only small blue square with question mark. Same thing in Safari, FireFox, Chrome.

Since July on MacBook Pro facebook images, profile photos, cover photos are not loading. Only small blue square with question mark. Same thing in Safari, FireFox, Chrome. Everything is up to date including last version of Adobe Flash. And watching YouTube also a problem. Video is skipping, freezing for few seconds and jumps forward. At the same time on Toshiba with Windows Vista under the same account, same wi-fi connection everything works fine.
Please help with sugesstions to fix the issue.

Seems like problem is solved but it might be temporarily. Anyway. Click on the image, it will open facebook photo browser. Image is not loading so right click on the blue box with question mark, save image as. It will start downloading but without any success since browser do not see the image. After this attempt refresh the page and close all tabs with facebook. Try to open facebook once again. For some reason after this weird actions all images displayed properly. Do not know for how long but now it works.

If it is the same problem, it is probably a problem on Apple's side.

  • When I first am looking at my newly uploaded photos in "Library", a box appears near the bottom of the photo that says "loading" (the photo looks good to me), then it is more "faded" and does not look as good.  Is there some setting on that I am not aware

When I am first looking at my newly uploaded photos in "Library," a box appears near the bottom of the photo that says "Loading".  While it is loading, I usually think the photo looks "good".  After the photo is done loading, it looks more washed out.  Is there some sort of setting that I might have on (or that I need to turn on) so that this does not happen.  I have Lr4.  Thanks.

    Hi Tracy,
There used to be a way to see if poster was new to the forum.., anyway - welcome to the forum.
As I was alluding to, biggest differences in initial display are due to:
    * Camera calibration profile.
    * Auto-exposure/contrast settings (for which compensations have been auto-applied in camera, but not in Lightroom).
So, choose a matching camera calibration profile (whether that's an option or not depends on your camera model - they're available for many but not all models) if you prefer one of them over "Adobe Standard" (the factory default profile).
Also, your camera covers for underexposure due to non-optimal auto-exposure/contrast setting, Lightroom doesn't, so your options are:
    * turn it off in camera.
    * learn to compensate manually (or automatically via a plugin) in Lightroom.
Of course, in addition to preferred defaults (alt-click big "reset" button in dev module), come up with some presets which are appropriate for your druthers and type of photography.. e.g. these will compensate Nikon ADL settings:

  • How to see photos in bridge

    Hi all,
In general liking adapting to imac but..
I keep running into problems when using non-apple software, such as the excellent adobe photoshop.
I find it quite frustrating that 'finder' and other apps (apart from iphoto and aperture) cannot 'see' the contents of the iphoto library.  I want to be able to do this in Bridge NOT iphoto/aperture.  (I know you can see into iphoto in finder by right click then looking in 'masters' - why did they not design it so you can simply see photos in finder by clicking the 'iphoto icon'?!!!)
The reason one needs to be able to see into the iphoto library in Bridge is to allow you to select and 'drop' multiple images/logos into one open/blank file in photoshop's workspace so you can then do design work (beyond more straight forward single photo editing).  The way around it is to use iphoto to find what you need then drop all the files onto the desktop - then, they are visable in Bridge in the 'desktop' tab.
It is far more simple to just be working within the one program -in this case photoshop-  open minibridge, then find the files you want and drop into photoshop.
I hope this makes sense to someone who can help me with this?
    Thanks
    Reuben

I'm not sure why it is I must make a choice to use one or the other?
Well of course, you don't have to it's just that it makes no sense to use both. It's a bit like trying to write your novel in two different word processors - it's possible, but makes more work, is unecessarily confusing  and makes for needless complexity, but hey, if that's what you're into...
I'm not using iphoto at all but Aperture instead (much the same in the sense they are both photo viewers...
Neither are "photo viewers" and and that might be the start of your problem. They are both databases. When it comes to editing the principle deficit is compositing... this sort of thing:
Lets say I need to create a collage of four images, with a logo and a bit of text.
That's exactly what you would use an external editor in either app for.
I really do not understand why apple do not allow you to see into your iphoto library?  Take finder for example, say I want to upload an image to the web.  Usually you click upload, the finder window pops up, you look in the left hand column for your photos, click on the 'pictures' tab then onto iphoto library.
That's because you don't understand what iPhoto and Aperture are... You think they are photo viewers like Bridge, but they are not. They are Photo Managers built around a non-destructive workflow. As with any database to get data out you need to export it.
Bridge is a photo viewer, Photoshop is an editor. Not only different apps but entirely different types of apps. The nearest thing in the Adobe ecosystem is Lightroom. A'l of these are database, and like any database, you need to export the data.
These apps replace the Finder for anything you want to do with your Photos. Remember the Finder is a file manager. These apps are photo managers. It's a key difference:
Remember that file is just a container -  a box - for your Photograph. Think of it this way:  In my iTunes Library I have a file called 'Let_it_Be_The_Beatles.mp3'. So what is that, exactly? It's not the song. The Beatles never wrote an mp3. They wrote a tune and lyrics. They recorded it and a copy of that recording is stored in the mp3 file. So the file is just a container for the recording. That container is designed in a specific way attuned to the characteristics and requirements of the data. Hence, mp3.
Similarly, that Jpeg is not your photo, it's a container designed to hold that kind of data. iPhoto is all about the data and not about the container. So, regardless of where you choose to store the file, iPhoto will manage the photo, edit the photo, add metadata to the Photo but never touch the file. If you choose to export - unless you specifically choose to export the original - iPhoto will export the Photo into a new container - a new file containing the photo.
As for uploading, sharing to other apps and so on, there are hooks built into every single Open or Upload dialogue in the OS. In the case of Uploading to a website the first one of these is what you want:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4491
Your entire library, searchable, with the actual dialogue.
So, what you're missing, at heart, is that these apps are not "Apple's version of Photoshop" or whatever, they're a different kind of app, with different aims and uses.

  • Can No Longer See Photos After Double Click to Edit

Photos and videos only visible as thumbnails. When double click to edit, cannot see. However, can double click on books and see them in edit mode. All photos still located in iPhoto Library. Have run backup and gone through all four options for database repair. Have uninstalled and reinstalled version 9.5.1. Still cannot see photos. Running latest version of OS Mavericks and latest version of iPhoto.

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/ Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help: As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Mail and iPhoto Problems with sending photos.

Mail and iPhoto Problems with sending photos.
I have this problem that started a while ago and seems to be getting worse.
    Here are the different scenarios.
-If I try to share a photo to email within iPhoto, it will insert the image file name in the mail message, but no image icon or opened image. In iPhoto Preferences under General I have chosen to use Email Photos using Mail.
-If I choose to use iPhoto to send the photo, it will compose the message and the photo is viewable. If I send the message i can view the photo within the email I sent to myself. Nothing happens when I double click on the photo in the Mail message. Nothing happens when i control click on the photo in the mail message. Nothing happens when I try to drag the photo to the desktop from the mail message. When I try to save attachments from the email and choose a place to save it, the save button is grayed out and it cannot be saved. When I check the mail message it says there is an attachemnt but there is no file size listed.
-If I use the stationary within Mail app I cannot drag a photo into the placeholder, I get a circle with a line through it symbol when I try. It happens if I try to drag a photo from the desktop or from the media browser within Mail app.
-If I drag the photo to the desktop from iPhoto, I can double click it on the desktop and it will open in Preview.
-If I then control click on the same photo on the desktop and scroll to share/email, the generic photo icon will be inserted in the mail message. If i double click the photo icon in the mail message  I get a message it can't be opened because it is empty.
-If I drag that same image to the mail message body the same thing happens.
-If I send that email to someone they cannot open the image file.
    What I can do:
    - I can drag that same image file on the desktop to my dropbox folder and  it will upload. From there I can go on my iPad and download the photo and send it through email just fine.
-I can open the same image file on my desktop in Preview, I can copy and paste it into a mail message and the image will be viewable in the mail message by me and by the recipient.
-I can drag that same image on the desktop to my safari browser window and it will be viewable in the page. i can then copy and paste that image into a mail message and it is viewable in the message.  I can then send that email message to myself and i can control click on the image and get all my options. It also shows as an attachment with the size of the image file in the mail message.
I can send that message to someone and they can see the photo and open it fine.
-If I send that same email to me I can see the photo within the mail.  If I then drag that photo to the desktop I cannot use it again to put in an email as the same problem happens again.
I have tried all scenarios in my user account, another users account and in a guest account. The same happens in all. I am guessing because of this it is not a corrupt preference file, unless all of the preference files are corrupt. The guest user account I added a new email account so it was brand new and still had the problem.
I am stumped, all and any help is appreciated.

Another problem that may be related….
I have Snapz Pro. I used to be able to save the snaps to my desktop or a folder. Now when I take a screenshot and try to save the file to my desktop or a folder on my desktop I get this message  "Files cannot be created in the selected location. You do not have permission to write to the selected location.   Please choose a different location."  I have found that i can only save the file to the clipboard.   I have repaired permissions many times and still I have this problem.

  • Macbook pro/snow leopard cannot see photos on iphone 4 ios7 and therefore cannot download

Since installing a new hard drive, my macbook pro 2009 / snow leopard shows no photos on my iphone (when there are 147). I have not had a problem with downloading photos previously. Any help appreciated.
    Tim

Have you synced the phone with iTunes on the Mac? Have you installed all system updates? iOS7 only works with later versions of iTunes & the OS.
iPhoto should allow you to see the pictures & import them from the phone. The other option is 'Image Capture' application. It should be in the Applications folder.
You may also need to unlock the passcode to show the device on the Mac.

Here is a snippet from a discussion on another forum that includes a quote from Jeff Schewe, whom I consider to be a very good source for reliable information:
Look, I'll make it REAL simple...
    TIFF = Good
    PSD = Bad
PSD is now a bastardized file format that is NOT a good idea to use. Even the Photoshop engineers will tell you that PSD is no longer the Photoshop "native" file format. It has no advantages and many disadvantages over TIFF.
TIFF is publicly documented, PSD is not. That makes TIFF a preferred file format for the long term conservation of digital files.
And, let me be blunt, anybody who thinks PSD is "better" than TIFF is ignorant of the facts. If Adobewould let them, the Photoshop engineers would tell you to quit using PSD.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Most of us do not have this problem and can connect to our libraries on demand, it would therefor seem reasonable to assume that the issue lies somewhere other than iTunes or the Apple TV, my first thought is network issues, have you done anything to ensure it's not your network.
