Problem to startup IFS

HI,
I currently using 9idb and ifs with w2k system. Mt steps to setup the 9ifs was:
1) run ifsconfig.bat
2) restart machine (single Win2K machine with Oracle DB and 9iFS)
3) start the oracle HTTP server
4) run ifsjservCtl.bat -start
5) start "Oracle Enterprise Manager", goto "Internet File System" node, start domain and all nodes
However, it came out such error when I tried to start up the ifs in OEM:
couldn't open "c:\WINNT\TEMP\1744133652.osd":no such file or directory
Can anyone help me?
Ken

We've never had success starting our iFS via Enterprise manager. This is what we do:
-Open a command prompt and change directory to the \oracle\ora90\9iFS\bin directory
-Run the command "ifsjservctl start" and wait about 20 seconds before you go to the next step.
-Run the command "start ifslaunchdc" and wait about 20 seconds before you go to the next step. This will leave a command window open that does not display anything. Minimize it if you desire.
-Run the command "start ifslaunchnode" and wait about 20 seconds before you go to the next step. This will leave a command window open that does not display anything. Minimize it if you desire.
-Run the command ifsstartdomain. This will run a java program that will prompt you for the password.
-After about 1 minute, go to another workstation and try to access the site via a browser. Try http://YOURSERVER/ifs/files/ifs/webui/jsps/login.jsp

    Hi nayab,
Ur workspace metadata seems to be corrupted. Go to ur workspace. rename .metadata folder  & open the NWDS. It will not show ur previous configuration so u have to import the Development configuration again. In case ur any activity is open, it will come back when u import the Development Configuration.
    regards
    Sumit

    Hi,
Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu.  Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run a tests on the whole Hard Drive.  Post back with the details of any error messages.

    Hi,
Take the backup of .metadata folder, then delete that from your workspace.
If you delete the .metadata file - It will no do any harm to your existing projects in your workspace.
But you need to import them into the NWDS again.
If there is any issue you delete the new .metadata and place the old backup .metadata.
There are no issues. I did that just now
    Or
Instead of deleting the .metadata you can try giving the new workspace in -data of NWDS.
And in new workspace copy your old projects (from old workspace) and import them again into NWDS.
    How to give  -data
Right click on NWDS shortcut on desktop and in shortcut tab
    in target input:
For example already you have like this
    D:\IDE70\eclipse\SapIde.exe -vm "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_04\bin\javaw.exe"
    then at the end add
    -data "C:\NewWorkspace"

  • Problem at startup in my Mac Pro

Hello, I have a problem when i start up my Mac Pro. Here's a screen:
    http://img863.imageshack.us/img863/5755/31052011325.jpg
It's not occurring everytime. Just sometime. When I get that error, I hold the startup button in order to restart.
.. can you please give me some suggestions on how to solve this?

That looks to be s display-card problem. If you have not just blown the dust out of your display card, you should do that now.
Regardless, you should begin planning for a new  display card.

  • Unresponsive Keyboard and Trackpad problem AT STARTUP + Sleep problem

When I turn on my computer it boots the OS and everything works except for the trackpad and the keyboard. I wait for about 5-7 minutes and then the trackpad and the keyboard start working.
    Additional problems:
If I try to sleep my computer, the screen turns off, but the computer never stops working, so I have to force it to shut down.
    Temporal Solutions
    1) Boot in safe mode, it solves the trackpad/keyboard problems but not the Sleeping problem
    Attempted fixes
    1) Conencted external keyboard mouse/keyboard. Doesn't work
    2) Reset the battery controller.
    3) Reinstalled 10.6
    4) Installed 10.5
    5) Installed 10.6.3
    Known Stuff:
    1) The trackpad/keyboard are always connected as I can move the mouse and use some gestures with the Better Touch Tool app, and the keyboard works because if I click the Caps Lock key, the small led turns on.
    2) Also, I have the HardwareGrowler app which tells me if hardware gets connected or disconnected and it never tells me anything about the trackpad/keyboard getting disconnected.
    3) The OS is working at startup because apps show stuff and get updated and I can still get growl notifications.
NOTE: This is an intermittent problem, about 1 out of 10 times I turn on the computer I GET the problem.
    Thanks a lot!

I came across a similar issue as the original poster. My trackpad and keyboard are unresponsive for 5 - 7 minutes after startup. I've updated my OS to 10.6.4 twice and it's still happening. I recognized this behavior after the Preferences->Network pane froze while I was trying to remove a VPN setting. Removing /Library/Preferences/SystemConfigurations did not help the problem.
Do any of you have advice on debugging the issue?

  • Startup problem - no startup options

I've been having numerous problems with my X61 7675-CTO with Win Vista Business and most of them are due to Lenovo's system updates. But this one is a "residue" from when I had my computer sent in for service. Ever since, upon startup I hear three beeps: one long and two short ones. Furthermore, no buttons seem to work while starting the computer - not the blue ThinkVantage button, not F8 (to choose e.g. safe mode) and no other buttons. So when I have problems (which I do...) I cannot start the computer in safe mode, I cannot run Rescue & Recover and I cannot run PC Doctor.
I have tried everything I can think of, but I really have no clue why these startup options won't work. Will I have to reinstall Windows to get this to work? (I really, really don't want to do that.) Are there any drivers or updates I can apply to alleviate this problem?
    Thanks.

    bananaman wrote:
Unfortunately, per the Lenovo Secret Beep Decoder Ring, this means a problem with any of:
    System board
    LCD assembly
    DIMM
Thanks, bananaman, that's real bad news.
It is "funny," however, that the sounds were there as I got the laptop back from Lenovo's technicians. Obviously, they don't do any testing whatsoever after having "fixed" problems (they replaced the system board). If they did, then wouldn't they have reacted to the beeps?
I noticed the beeps, but I didn't think much about it until some days ago when I started having BSOD problems and needed to boot in Safe Mode - but that was impossible due to no keys functioning. And now my warranty has expired... Any suggestions of what I can do? I can try calling Lenovo, but I don't think they have ever delivered a solution but to "send it in" - and that is, this time, the cause of the problem...
Or should I perhaps ignore the beeps and just continue using the computer. I've managed to get rid of the BSODs, so it seems to be working (for now...).

  • Problems with "Startup Disk Memory"

I'm having issues with hard drive storage.
My spotify account is telling me it can't play music because my hard drive is full. Applications won't run because my "startup disk space is full." I can't download ANYTHING because there is no space.
Before anyone tells me to delete some files, I have already backed up all my files and deleted ALL OF THEM. The only thing on my computer at the moment is my software. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I'm at the end of my rope. My computer is basically good for nothing right now. I'm also having extreme problems booting it up, and connecting to Wi-Fi. Thanks for your concern:
As you know, in window explorer,iFS map drive is very convenient facility.According to install procedure in some documents, i installed these on client-pc and rebooted. But there was no notification for which machine is iFS server when i mapped iFS server to map-drive in local. In set&admin guide, there might be some notification beside machine name in map-network drive diallog box as like "iFS server".
what's wrong?. but,in program group of start menu,iFS utilities are generated correctly.

  • Problems in startup class (MDB on Weblogic 7.0 / IBM MQ)

    Hello friends,
I am trying to communicate with IBM MQ through Weblogic 7.0 SP2 and
              using MDB.
This is a bit strange but I had to reinstall Weblogic and I tried to
deploy the Startup class . However I am getting this error:
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
              Exception raised:
              java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
              at com.ibm.mq.jms.services.ConfigEnvironment.<clinit>(ConfigEnvironment.java:173)
              at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)
I am totally at loss to understand this as it was working before I
reinstalled the Weblogic. (Maybe I am skipping something which I had
              earlier done :-().
              All help appreciated.
              Thanks in advance,
              Milan Doshi

Since your simply running an MQ client in a startup class, you should
be able to reproduce the issue without WebLogic in the mix. Once
that is done, contact IBM for support. I continue to suspect
a command-line problem - IBM is expecting something on
the java JVM command-line that is missing.

  • Synchronisation problem when using iFS as Portal document repository

Is anyone using 9iFS as the repository for their Portal documents but getting DRG-11602: URL store: access to <file name> requires authentication when synchronising the PORTAL30.WWSBR_URL_CTX_INDX index. This is run under schema CTXSYS, using ctx_schedule.
We use a URL on the Portal folder to access the iFS document and, if the ACE on the document ACL includes World Read, then the document is indexed correctly but if it has no World Read access then synchronisation fails with the above error. These secure documents are indexed correctly, however, when synchronising IFSSYS.IFS_TEXT.
When you put the URL for the document in the browser then you are prompted for an iFS username/password and this is obviously the problem when synchronising. Oracle Support say that the Oracle 9i Oracle Text Reference, Chapter 2: Indexing, definition of URL_DATASTORE states :The login:password@ syntax within the URL is not supported. Oracle Support have also suggested that using iFS as the Portal repository is not standard practice and that we should simply add our documents as items on the folder. Doing this means not being able to take advantage of the added functionality of iFS such as versioning and, anyway, I thought that Oracle had plans to fully integrate the two products with iFS being the default repository in a future release of Portal.
Until then has anyone got any ideas for a workaround because we are unable to index the contents of all secure documents on our Corporate intranet? We cant be the only site using iFS and Portal in this way!

    Hello Raymond,
I must say that I downloaded the JBoss Portal Binary and not the bundle JBoss AS + JBoss Portal, because I already had a JBoss AS working, so it was the best way to do it (as it is said in the JBossPortalReferenceGuide). I have both things (server and portal) in the same directory, but I don't know if maybe one of them should contain the other (I have seen that in the bundle, the portal directory contains the JBoss application server) When I downloaded the JBoss Portal and tried to deploy it by directing my web browser to http://localhost:8080/portal it did not work, so I decided to copy the jboss-portal.sar directory from the JBoss Portal to the deploy of my server. Maybe this was a mistake.
But anyway I have seen that JBoss Portal 2.6 comes with the myfaces jars, and as JBoss AS 4.2 uses Sun RI by default, it is going to collapse anyway. Should I just remove these jars from the portal? As I told you before, I tried doing it and I got two errors of not found classes.
Please, any help would be really appreciated, I am losing a lot of time with this bug, because the server keeps getting out of memory due to it.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Having problems with Startup Disk Installing Panther

I'm having problems installing Panther, I currently have a 9.2 OS. I get a message that the startup disk could not select the new os as the start up disk. Has anyone had this problem before? I've done all my updates, firmware included. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Julie

I bought the disc on ebay, its for an emac.
That disk isn't compatible with your computer; it will only work on a specific eMac model. You need a retail Mac OS X installation package, which is available here.
