Problem touchpad scrolling, zooming ,etc

with usb mouse its ok, but when i use the touchpad its like useless, i normally use Alt+ scroll wheel to zoom, or scroll just to move.
But its useles, its just cant be used, is there anyway to make it work?
its a synaptics touchpad, win 7 64bit

is there no solution for these? or it cshould go somewhere else?

Touchpad Scroll Zooming not functioning

When pressing ctrl and using the scroll, it is supposed to zoom in and out. It seems to not function in different programs?! For example I use it fine in Firefox, but Photoshop, OneNote, Premiere and Sony Vegas it does not work. Very irritating.

Ctrl + and Ctrl - works fine for me in Firefox and Photoshop on my T400, X100e, and T60.

NB100 touchpad scroll bar stops working after exit full screen mode youtube

I have few Toshiba laptops, satellite, and now netbook100.
All of them share one problem, touchpad scroll bar:
It will stop working after exit full screen mode in youtube.
Here is how to reproduce the incident:
1. using any mainstream browser, start playing a youtube video, click full screen button at the bottom right corner of the video.
2. click on the [cross] to exit the full screen mode. (next to full screen button.)
3. check if you scroll bar still functioning.
4. a reboot will restore the function.
Currently, Im on vista, I believe in XP you will have the same problem.
Searching in google (touchpad scroll bar stops full screen youtube) will return more people share the same question but no answer.
Environments: win xp all, win vista all.
Windows all most updated driver, touch pad driver up to date.
This is not a major tech problem but for a netbook, this is very annoying.
If anyone have this problem or answers, please share it here.

I had the exact same problem on my laptop and after a lot of searching, I finally found the simplest solution that really works for me so here goes:
Once you exit the full screen video and the scroll pad has stopped working, click once anywhere on the youtube page(just to unfocus from the video) and press the spacebar button on your keyboard twice.
Et voila, your scroll pad should be working again. Beats the hassle of having to log off everytime.

Sorry I can't help you. I just wanted to let you know I have the same exact problem. It started three days ago and I've been going back and forth with creative support and nothing has worked. I am beginning to grow really distressed. I feel a little better now because after seeing that it's happening with someone else, it is most likely not the player. I am running windows 98 SE as well. I also have an AMD Duron processor. I have a new computer on the way with windows XP I really hope it works. But now I have a new problem. I listed it on the front page of this forum a few minutes ago. My player froze and now only boots up in rescue mode. I am getting so frustrated with my player. If you figure anything out will you be as kind as to send me a message on how you got your player working again? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

G-580 touchpad problem when scrolling

sir,
my lenovo G-580 which is windows 8 besed laptop has a problem with its tuoch pad.
when i scroll over it's mouse pad it automatically selectes the items, and some times it takes comands automatically
specially when internet is open and doing something on internet , it troubling me much. i have purchesed it from local retailer in the month of february 2014. sir plz provide me help as early as possible so that i can take a relif from it disturb...

I’m sorry to hear that your new G580 Laptops touchpad scroll feature is not working as expected, I suggest you to re-install the Touchpad driver in the computer and check the issue. While installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error.

Touchpad Scroll-buttons not working properly

I was not sure if this is actually a Desktop Environment or Hardware problem, but since it's hardware related I will post it here.
The problem:
On my touchpad (on Acer Aspire 5610Z) I have scroll button for up/down/left/right and until a recent update the scroll buttons need to be clicked repeatably in order to scroll. Before the upgrade and the way I'm expecting to behave is that when I click and hold a button - it should repeat the scroll (I hope you are able to understand it). So basically my problem is that to scroll with the scroll-buttons I have to click it numerous times in order to scroll, instead of just holding the button pressed.
At the same time all other features like two-finger scrolling, gestures etc. are working, but I'm not used to scroll with two fingers and would like to have my scroll-buttons working.

I'm afraid the problem is in driver.
I compared sources of input-synaptics 1.6.3 and 1.7.0 and it seems that author has cut off the functionality of "repeating" scrollbuttons

Strange decision I think...

G50-70 touchpad/scroll?

I have some issues with touchpad scroll option, like there`s no one finger scroll option as most laptops have it, latest drivers TouchPad Driver (Elan, Synaptics) 17.0.14.74/11.4.31.1 are installed on windows 7 x64 with no errors and works ok .. but, it confuses me when I looked:

I'm having the same problem.
Every once in a while, my touchpad just goes crazy. I've had the laptop for 3 months and it's been doing it since the first day. I haven't had a chance to send it in to have service techs look at it yet because I need it for school, but it's really starting to become a problem.
When the erratic movement starts, I can touch the pad to try to move the pointer to a certain location, but the pointer just goes crazy. And it usually ends up zooming in on whatever program/website I am using.
Reinstalling the touchpad driver did nothing to help the problem. In fact, as I just tried to move my pointer to "Post," it happened again!

Problems with scrolling and Mission Control

I have this problem:
When scrolling down any page, the letters will blur at the top of the screen and not the bottom.
When swiping acrross pages in the launchpad, it occasionaly freezes half way between the two.
When I swipe up with four fingers to access mission control, the screen becomes very sluggish. Swiping back down (or clicking a tab) is even worse, causing slow "laggy" animations.

Problems with scrolling after mountain lion download.

I just downloaded mountain lion today and ever since the download I am having issues with the scrolling for my magic mouse and trackpad. My problem is when I scroll down on my mouse or trackpad it actually goes up on the page and vice versa. I have seen others have had some scrolling issues but not exactly the same as mine. Just wondering if there is any known fix for this problem? I did the PRAM reset and also the SMC reset and that didn't fix the problem unfortunately.

Look in System Preferences > Trackpad (or mouse) > Scroll & Zoom tab > uncheck Scroll direction: Natural.
The scrolling direction has been changed to a technique where your push the screen up or pull it down, takes a few days to get used to. The swipe directions will also be affected by this change.

Lenovo G510 touchpad scrolling not working in windows 7

I have a windows 7 - 64 bit operating system on a Lenovo G510
I have installed Touchpad driver for windows 7 from Lenovo site but i found very annoying problem which is the touchpad scrolling function not working .....

Welcome to the Forums.
If you have a Synaptics Touchpad, can you check if you have a One Finger / Two Finger Scrolling feature under Mouse Properties.

I can't use touchpad scrolling in webpage tabs when a PDF tab is open in Firefox 4

When using Firefox 4, if I have a PDF open in a tab (using the Adobe Reader 9 plugin, whatever the latest update was), I can't use my touchpad scroll in other tabs until I close the PDF tab. I can scroll fine in the PDF tab. This is on a HP laptop, the touchpad is made by Synaptics. Did not notice this problem in Firefox 3.6.

If you have this problem, please comment on the bug with your OS version (Windows 7 64-bit, for example, or Windows XP, 32-bit) and who makes your touchpad (Device Manager -> Mice -> "Touchpad Maker" Touchpad).

When a PDF is opened in a tab, my laptop's touchpad scroll stops working for other tabs. (But works perfectly fine on the pdf tab or with every tab after closing the pdf tab)

My touchpad scroll was not working many times after i installed firefox 6. But it works perfectly fine in other browsers at the same time.
After some playing around, i found that this problem occurs only when a pdf is open in some tab (The scrolling works in pdf's tab but not in other tabs). Once that particular tab is closed, the scrolling starts working properly.

Using similar scroll function on my netbook. To add to the above, I find that using scroll is actually causing the PDF to scroll rather than the tab I'm actually in.
Reader 9 is installed on my Win7 Starter.

First, the essentials:
OS X 10.7.5 (11G63)
MaBook 13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008
Memory: 8GB, 1333 MHz, DDR3

As you can see from the above images, my control-click menus, scroll bars, etc. are getting scrambled.
To me it looks like some image pointers are getting messed up. I happen to be running VirtualBox 4.1.1.18, which seems like it might be related, but I haven't been able to determine this for sure.
My question is two-fold: first, has anyone encountered a similar issue?
And, what are some recommendations for narrowing down the cause?

I had the same issue and after some futzing around I realized its profile related and therefore based on some option. After resetting "gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled" back to false in about:config and restarting ff the problem seems to have subsided.

The touchpad scroll doesn't work in visual studio?

As I mentioned in the title, the touchpad scroll doesn't work or affect visual studio community. The scrolling works very well with other software but it doesn't with visual studio community. This same button worked with VS 2010, VS 2012 (It stopped sometimes
but still functioning correctly most of the time), and stopped with 2013 versions. Why?

Scroll button on what? Are you using a mouse with a scroll wheel, or is this a laptop touch pad?

FIREFOX 13.0.1 LOSES ACER LAPTOP TOUCHPAD SCROLLING
