Problem Transfering Photos from PC to iPhone 4 with version 5.1.1

I can't transfer multiple Folders containing photos from my PC to my iPhone.  My digital photos on my PC are simply in Folders as JPEG files.  When I try to transfer the Folders in iTunes I can only select the "All Folders" option.  The "Selected Folders" option is greyed out.  Once I have synced my iPhone this selected folder with photos shows up on my iPhone (both in my Photo Library and in a separate folder named the same as it was copied).
Now, when I try to transfer/sync another Folder to my iPhone the new Folder and photos replace the original Folder and photos if the new folder has more photos.  If the new folder has less photos, then the photos in the original folder are reduced to the number of photos in the new folder, and the new photos are not copied over.  Very weird...Please help.

Not much help here, but you can help yourself.
1. Create one folder on your desktop.
2. Copy pictures that you want to have on your iPhone and paste in that one folder.
3 Uncheck box "sync photos" and hit apply
4.Check box "sync photos" and hit apply one time and if necessary, hit sync
Make sure you allow time to complete.

You should ask in the Apple Forum. This has nothing to do with Adobe Reader, which only reads PDF files.

  • Update on transferring photos from Droid to iPhone

I'd like to share some information on transferring photos from an old Droid to iPhone 5, a problem I've wrestled with for the last few days.  Even though I got some good tips, and have learned that I'm not the only person with this particular problem, I still had no success making the transfer.  In desperation (thinking I'd get no help) I called 1-800-734-5870, the Motorola help line.  Was bumped up to "level 2" of problem-solving and was told that a possible solution might be to use a USB connector cord specifically made for Motorola phones (I'm not sure the one I've been using is that type).  The rep is sending me a courtesy cord to use to see if that will make a difference -- if no, t I'm supposed to call Motorola back.  My point is that the Motorola people were exceptionally nice, especially considering I'll no longer be using their phone.  I did not get this type of support from the Apple help line.  Will send an update if this simple "cord fix" works!

Thanks for the prompt reply, Roaminggnome.  I have to say, though, that the answer, while not unexpected, is disappointing.  The iPhone is, like the iPad, a data storage device as well as a cellular phone.  One can store and retrieve music, contacts, documents, presentations in Keynote, videos, podcasts, and a host of things on it.  And one can also store photos, which can be transferred from a digital camera or media card via a computer or iCloud.  So why, one has to wonder, would Apple not provide an alternative, and more direct, way to upload pictures from a camera without requiring the intermediary of a computer, as it does with the iPad?  But I guess that's what we're stuck with.  Puzzling, for a company as innovative as Apple.  Surely they know that folks are asking these questions.

  • Problems transferring photos from iphone to mac, iphoto says there is nothing to download...

Hi, I need to transfer photos from iphone to mac. My mac can 'see' my iphone with iphoto open, but the box says there are no photos to download. Could anyone help me please? This has never been a problem before (it was fine about 2 weeks ago). I've tried turning both devices off and have spent a couple of hours trying to search for this problem on the internet. I can't remember when I updated to OS 7.1 but I guess that was recently; could this be the problem? Thank you so much.

This has nothing to do with iOS 7.1

  • Problems transfering photos from my iPhone to my second mac

I have updated my iPhone 3G to the latest iOS on my MacBookPro running MacOS 10.5.8 and iTunes 10.3.1. That is all well. I thought this was no problem, since I want to use my MacBookPro as the backup for my phone from now on. But iTunes 10 will not upload the photos on my iPhone. I get a message telling me that all my photos will be erased if I choose to sync my phone with iPhoto on my new computer.
Up until now I have used my old G5 MacPro running MacOS 10.4.11 to backup and sync my phone with iTunes 9.2.1. It is not possible to update iTunes on the old G5, and the iPhone is no longer compatible.
So how do I get my photos from the iPhone to the harddrive of my new mac?

You cannot transfer photos that you synced to your iOS device from another computer. You can only transfer photos or videos that you took or saved on the iOS device.
You can transfer the photos from the iphone to itunes on the old computer and then transfer that file to a thumbdrive or even email them to yourself if you have that kind of time.
But, if your iphone is no longer compatible with your computer, then it will take some some maneuvering  of files. If you can attach your iphone to the computer and open the files in explorer or Finder, you might be able to move them to a thumbdrive that way.

  • Problems transferring photos from iPhone to iMac

I've recently bought an iMac and I can't transfer photos from my iPhone to iPhoto. When I attach the phone to the computer it isn't recognized as hardware in iPhoto. I used to be able to transfer from my phone to my old Macbook but that doesn't work now either.

This has nothing to do with iOS 7.1

  • Problem Transferring Photos from Old iPhone to new iPhone 5S

The old iPhone was backed up via iTunes Backup on a Windows XP PC.  Most everything (apps, music, books) were copied to the 5S via iTunes, but only 1/2 the photos (approximately 700 of 1600).  But when attempting to restore from the backup, iTunes says there is not enough memory.  Further, unless de-selected, iTunes syncs photos from the My Pictures folder.
The old phone shows 2.4 (of 16) gig of storage available.  The new 5S 3.4.
So, is there a way to get all the pictures moved over, in iTunes, the Cloud or otherwise?  Can the photos on the old phone be synced to iTunes to then be synced to the 5S?

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
Import the photos from the Camera Roll on your old iPhone with your computer. You can place all photos in one folder on your computer or create multiple photo albums or folders for select photos.
Under the Photos tab for your new iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, select the newly created folder or folders or photos that were imported from your old iPhone followed by a sync to transfer the photos from your computer to your new iPhone.

  • Transferring photos from PC TO iPhone

After following many tutorials to no success I have had to come here to hopefully have my problem resolved. I am trying to get a folder containing pictures from my PC to my laptop, I have read many tutorials which tell me to connect my device, click photos, click sync and choose the folder I want, when I go to iTunes then my device then photos, there is NO option for sync, it displays a message -
    Cloud Photos Is On
Larry's iPhone can access photos in iCloud. Photos can be downloaded to your device via Wi-Fi or Mobile network. I can upload photos if needed, I have tried everything and read countless tutorials but I still can't seem to find a way to get my photos from my PC to my iPhone, if there is another way to do this or an app that can be used any help would be greatly appreciated as the photos are very valuable to me and I would love for them to be on my phone.

Have you turned iCloud Photo Library ON in your iPhone? See Settings > iCloud > Photos
if so, you don't sync photos using iTunes any longer.

  • Problem transferring photos from Iphoto to my iPad 2

Hi, I tried to synchronize my photos from iPhoto in my iMac to my iPad 2 using iTunes and got the following alert message: " IPad from Rene could not be synchronized. Unable to find required file."
Can somebody give me some advise to solve this issue?
I restored it to factory and continue having the same message.
    Best Regards
    Rene

The problem is probably on your iMac not your iPad.
Here are some instructions on how to fix:
    1) Close iphoto and itunes
    2) Find the iphoto library in finder, most probably located in your users folder under pictures.
    3) Control click on iphoto library (might be named diferently) and choose show package contents
    4) Delete the folder caches and ipod photo cache.
    5) Restart iphoto
    6) Restart itunes
if itunes asks that the library is linked with another ipod, say yes to the warning to re sync with your ipod/iphone

  • Problems transferring photos from a Windows formatted iPod Photo to new G5

    Hi all,
I have recently come back from an overseas trip where I stored many many photos on an iPod Photo, using a PC with Windows XP. Now that PC is stuck in the repair shop - most likely not worth saving - and I have bought myself a G5 with OS X and iLife.
Basically iTunes can recognise the number of photos on the iPod, however I cannot view them when I open the Photos folder when in the disk drive. Two folders come up: 'Photo Database' and 'Thumbs'. (I hope I haven't lost the HI RES photos!)
I know there was one post that mentioned creating an empty folder then sync it using iTunes in order to transfer the photos from the ipod- I'm just a bit weary of losing all the photos seeing a warning message displays a similar note.
I thought Mac computers can recognise Windows formatted devices/docs. May it be that the iPod needs to be updated?
I'm calling out to all Mac-savvy users out there who may be generous enough with their time to solve this annoying issue.
    Cheers.

same thing happened to me. I purchased iPod Access from the internet (for about $15). This program will let you transfer your music and playlists from your iPod to your library

Where did you get the photos from. Were they in the camera roll, or were they ones that were synced to the phone from the computer?

  • Transfering photos from old laptop to new with different versions of PS elmnts

We have PS Elements 4 on an old lap top, running Windows Vista, which is beginning to fail.
Have just purchased new lap top running Windows 8 which will not accept PS Elements 4 as it is incompatible, but it has partially loaded.
Shop says they transfered photos across from one to the other but cannot find any of the tags for 7000 plus photos.
Am intending to buy PS Elements 12. but being 70 plus am not computer savvy.
Is there a step by step idiots guide on how to get said 7000 plus photos, complete with all the tags on them, from old LT to new LT at the same time converting them from PSE4 to PSE 12.

This document is from Adobe, certainly not step-by-step!  If you plan to convert the old catalog, I suggest that you get help in view of the reservation which you have identified.

  • Trouble transferring photos from iTunes to iPhone 3GS

When in iTunes, I'm able to go to the Photos tab to select the iPhoto album(s) I want to sync to my iPhone; however, after syncing, the photos are not actually on my iPhone. I've tried https://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314, but that didn't correct the issue. Any idea how to successfully sync iPhoto photos to my iPhone?
I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.2, iTunes 9, and have an iPhone 3GS.
    Thanks much for any insight.

iPhoto and Organizer work with images in two different ways. With iPhoto, your image files are embedded within the catalog. So the catalog file will get huge. With Organizer, your images are simply on your hard drive and the application just references them. When you are converting from iPhoto to Organizer, the images are being removed from the iPhoto catalog and placed on the hard drive for access. This is kind of like uncompressing a zip file. There could be some sort of problem with the iPhoto catalog file in the sector toward the end of your file list.
Here is some information about this iPhoto package file that stores you files: http://osxdaily.com/2011/08/30/where-iphoto-pictures-are-located/
Try following it's steps to access your files and then copy them to a new location. If you are able to complete this copying process, try importing the images into the Organizer from this new location. Depending on what you've done to organizer your images in iPhoto, you may lose some work following this method, but this is just a test to verify whether either step will work before looking at other avenues.

  • Problem transfering music from itunes to iphone

Hi! Wondering if you could help: I can play in Itunes the music I download. But when i decide to transfer these songs from Itunes to my Iphone 4 by draging it, like I always did before, it doesn't work. By the way I just bought a new laptop and downloaded Itunes on it. Can someone tell me what could be the problem?

hi, your message is kind of old and you've probably already figured out how to transfer the music. i just read some of the replies to you and see that no one mentions the "Autofill" option so i wanted to let you know--just in case it might help you to do things a bit less complicated. i had the same problem with the new version of iTunes (11.0) and discovered the best way to transfer your music is to add it to your iTunes library like you usually do and click on the "Autofill" button at the bottom so the music is transferred without problems. You still won't get to keep your playlists (I know right? ******* genius whoever came up with this brilliant idea...) and you must make sure you're "auto-filling" the music from the recently added list, otherwise it will just transfer music from a different location.
i hope this helps! you can email me or PM me if you've got any other questions!
