Problem transferring files to Sony Ericsson T610

I can’t manage to transfer files from my G4 iBook with OS 10.4.2 to my Sony Ericsson T610 phone.
Pairing works fine, and I can download email using the T610 - but each time I try and transfer a file using Bluetooth File Exchange, I get an alert saying “The file transfer failed: the recipient has stopped or refused the transfer”.
I have Bluetooth File Transfer switched on. I have Bluetooth enabled in the phone as well as the iBook, and I’m using a D-Link USB dongle. I’ve also tried with a Belkin Bluetooth adapter.
I’ve tried setting up pairing from the phone instead of the iBook, but the problem remains.
Any ideas?

Unfortunately I've seen this all too often with the players and will make the warning again to NEVER USE AN MP3 PLAYER AS A SINGLE SOURCE FOR FILES.
Despite this, sometimes upgrading or even downgrading the drivers can increase the stability. Notmad Explorer is more stable than other programs for data, and with Xstreamer, using the free trial, you can access data.

  • I have problems transferring files from PC to Mac and from Mac to Mac

I have problems transferring files from PC to Mac, and from Mac to Mac.  PC to PC is fine.  Nothing but problems with the Mac.  One example:
While working on my PC, I open shared folders on an external HDD connected to the Mac.  I click on paste to move the files.  I get an error after a few seconds to a minute of trying to move several files from my PC Win 7 to Mac OS Maverick, that there is a file already at the destination on Mac. This statement is true, but it was just put there because I am copying them over in that same action.  It reads 0Kb and wasn't there before I started.  Then I get an error: The Action Cannot be completed because the folder is open in another program.  Close the folder or file and try again..
Whether I click on it a bunch right of way or wait, it still takes about 45 seconds. I have to do it with every file and it only happens when copying from a PC to Mac.  I have even restarted both computers so nothing is using any files.  If I copy one file at a time, I don't get any error.
So I have one file to move, no problem.  If move 5 files, The first will go fine, but it shows all 5 files in folder at once.  All other files than the first show 0kb. I get the file already existing error once it starts the second file transfer, and I select move and replace.  Then I get The Action Cannot be completed because the folder is open in another program.  I wait or click repeatedly until it starts to move file.  That file will then show something other than 0kb.  When it is done, the error process starts all over.  I tried checking the PC with unlocker, but the files do not show themselves locked on the PC.

Its not only French. Even certain characters in English will come across as gobblydegook from 1 platform to another. I see this in emails that likely were composed in Word & the characters don't come across.
Not sure if this is still true, but years ago someone explained that there is a standard character set & then I think its extended characters & those vary from platform to platform or language to language, etc.

  • Sony Ericsson T610

hey I have a Sony Ericsson T610 and I bought a few Java games over the internet and I don't know why but they run SO SLOW!!! it takes something like 4 seconds after I hit a button for the thing to move or jump, loading times are also insane!! it runs at something around 0.4 fps!! Is it supposed to be that way or is something wrong with my celphone? from the day I bought it it was this way already. My friend has a Motorola V600 and THE SAME games run so perfectly on it! no slowing down at all, everything smooth, can anyone help me?
    thanks in advance.

If the contacts are in address book on your computer, why not just set itunes to sync the address book to the iphone.
When the iphone is connected with itunes, go to the info tab and set the contacts to sync and choose all contacts.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problems in installing jar file in Sony Ericsson Elm & K800i - Operation Failed

    HI all,
We have developed a J2ME application, the .jar file of the application is not getting installed in some of the Sony Ericsson devices such as Elm, K800i etc - getting 'Operation failed' message. But it is getting successfully installed in some other devices. Can anyone let us know what could be the problem even though the devices are MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1 supported.

http://developer.sonyericsson.com/wportal/devworld/phones/phone-overview/elm?cc=gb&lc=en Since I don't know which Java app you have developed, I can only suggest you use this SE Developer world page to compare JSRs& APIs between SE phones that allow its installation and those that don't, and see if this gives you an answer.Failing that, check for any differences in the security certificates and/or run a software update/master reset on the phones that don't allow installation and see if that helps.

  • Old .ecs files from Sony Ericsson P900

    Hi Everyone,
I saved some voice recordings of my daughter learning to read on my Sony Ericsson P900 ages ago (2005). I have a variety of back-up files for this phone (the files are titled like this: My P910 2005-02-04 23.41.32.ecs). I can't open them as is. I tried converting the file extension to .zip, but my MacBook Air says "Error 21--Is a directory.) Any ideas how to get at those recordings?
    Thanks in advance!

Mate, not sure if you found the answer but here is how i did it today;  i was looking for my grandparents voice recordings;  do not use winzip but use winrar - basically you rename the My P910 2005-02-04 23.41.32.ecs file as My P910 2005-02-04 23.41.32.zip and open it up in winrar.  you will see backup folder in it; extract it; in there there will be a file called filestore.dat.txt; open it up in here you will see lot of lines each line has a number going in ascending order from 1;  for example if you find some thing like this C:\documents\Voice\VoiceNote\voicenote147515272641126508.wav look at the line no - basically that line no is the .dat file no in your extracted backup folder, all you have to do is copy that particular .dat file to some other place and then rename it with .wav extension; voila; good luck

  • Problem transferring files from PC to MP3 pla

I recently have had problems transferring music from my computer to my Zen Touch.
I am using firmware version .0.03 Zen Touch and version 2.02.05 of Creative MediaSource Organizer. I have been able to transfer files perfectly fine for years up until a few days ago. When attempting to transfer an album, I get the following two error messages:
"Error: unable to download file. This file format is invalid."
"Error: There is not enough disk space at the destination for this
    transfer."
The first error baffles me. Every file is in mp3 format and plays fine on my computer. I have no explanation as to why I am getting this error except that my Zen Touch is dieing. :-(
I have figured out the reason for the second error but I have absolutely no clue why it happens. When transferring the mp3s, the album folder grows to a ridiculous size. A 90 MB folder got changed to 9.23 GB!!!! Half of the songs on the album became -2 GBs each while the other half remained normal and completely unchanged. The songs that were greatly increased in file size still played fine on my PC however there would be 000s of minutes of static following the song.
The music already on my mp3 player still plays fine. The only problems I have been having is with the transferring of new music to the player.
So, I'm hoping someone has experienced this issue and has been able to fix it.
    Thanks.

Can anyone help me with this or should I just give up on my Zen Touch?

One of the problems I see is that schools and
colleges do not seem to teachActually, you can stop right here and say it all.
With regards to programming, they don't teach
anything.:-) A slightly more cynical view than mine!

  • Problem transferring files from zen to

i recently backed up my computer files on my zen touch because i needed to format my computer, these files were backed up onto my friends system and then transfered onto my zen touch, i recently tried transferring my backed up files back onto my computer but it keeps saying "format cannot be read" or something on the lines of that, is there anything i can do to solve this problem?

Unfortunately I've seen this all too often with the players and will make the warning again to NEVER USE AN MP3 PLAYER AS A SINGLE SOURCE FOR FILES.

  • ISync 2.4 and Sony Ericsson T610

I have always stored contacts in my T610 as "Last Name, First Name" and never had a problem syncing with my Mac address book. Now with iSync 2.4, "Last Name," ends up in the First Name field and "First Name" ends up in the Last Name field. This seems like a bug. Has anyone else seen this?
    eMac 1.25 GHz w/ SuperDrive   Mac OS X (10.4.9)
    eMac 1.25 GHz w/ SuperDrive   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Maybe I should have been more clear about this.
You cannot install iSync 2 or later using Pacifist from anything but a Mac OS X 10.4 or later Install or Upgrade DVD - either the one which shipped with your machine, or a commercial universal installer disk.
You don't have the option at the bottom of the Devices menu because, no matter what you might believe about the process you followed, you STILL have iSync 1.5 installed. The list of menu items you show is the view in iSync 1.5, not iSync 2 or later.
You need to locate your Mac OS X 10.4 or later disk or purchase a retain version, and then follow these instructions:
Launch Pacifist. Insert your Mac OS X 10.4 Install or Upgrade DVD in your optical drive and wait for it to mount. Press the now-activated Open Mac OS X Install Packages button in Pacifist. Wait for the window to appear - it will take some time to load all of the resources - then double click on the Contents of Essentials.pkg file to open it, double-click on the Applications folder, select iSync.app then press the Install button.
That will install a copy of iSync 2 into your Applications folder. Then run the Mac OS X 10.4.9—at minimum, or the 10.9.10 or 10.9.11—Combo update for PowerPC or intel processor based machines—whichever is appropriate for your platform—to update it to release 2.4.
There is no other way to do it: Pacifist. Original disk. That's it.

  • Problems Transferring Files Larger Than 1GB Using SMB

    Hi All,
I noticed that in 10.8.2, when I try to copy large files particularly greater than 1GB from my PC to my Mac using SMB (the PC is the one making the operation of copy & paste) , it fails to continue with the error message "There is a problem accessing \\COMPUTERNAME\SHARENAME. Make sure you are connected to the network and try again. However, when my Mac is the one doing the copy and paste operation, it continues without any problem. Any ideas why they behave as such?

    hi all,
i just want to share that i upgraded some of my PCs to Windows8, and to my surprise, this problem is all gone and the copying is much faster! my other PCs that were left behind Windows7 still experiences the same problem. now i am confused if this is Apple's bad implementation of smb or it's a conflict between OS X and Windows7. can someone duplicate this problem between pre-Windows7 versions so that we can have comparisons. thanks and cheers to everyone!
That's really interesting, because all of my machines are running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit and they all have this issue of not being able to copy large/sustained transfers... I don't have any machines running 7 to check if my issue is isolated to just 8 or not. Can you say what flavor of 8 you're running?
I eventually just went to using SMBup which... 1. gave me better speeds then when I was using the built-in OS X Windows Sharing, and 2. Has been 100% reliable as far as transfers go... I can copy 10GB files with ease. The only issue with SMBup is the fact that Windows machines don't show up in the Finder like when you're using the built-in method.

  • Problems transfering files from PC to Harddrive on Airport Extreme.. Help!

I upgraded to an Airport Extreme to help speed up my wireless and access a LACIE 1tb harddrive between two computers - a Windows XP 64bit machine and a new macbook.
Everything works great except I cannot copy large files from the PC to the harddrive even though I can stream movies off the harddrive to the same computer and transfer small files. When I try to copy a large file I get "The specified network name is no longer available" after about 30sec even though its actually connected (I can browse and watch a movie after I get the error). The large files do show up on the HDD after getting the error but they are not working files. So frustrating.
I have read that it could be the 7.4.2 firmware but have tried going back to 7.4.1 with the same results. I have also tried backing up the Airport and restoring to default settings. Also tried installing the airport software on the PC with no luck. I am considering trying to format the drive from FAT32 to the default apple one but really don't want to do this.
Anyone have any suggestions? This is got to be the most frustrating problem I have encountered since starting my mac transition...

So I plugged in another 250gb hdd that I have lying around, formatted with my macbook and successfully backed up over 130gb worth of files via time machine. Also, tried transferring some "large files" to the same drive via the PC with blazing speed and everything works great.
So it turns out that a harddrive with FAT32 doesnt work properly with a PC.
I will be formatting my other 1tb drive now and I suspect will have similar results but this issue is odd and frustrating to say the least.

  • Problems "transferring" files from time machine to new hard drive

I was experieincing the spinning beach ball of death so I replaced my hard drive with a new one.  I am running mountain lion (10.8.2) and the new Hard drive has two partions - one for "start up" which I was able to use migration assisant to move over my applications from my time machine.  The problem I am having is that I can't figure out how to get my user account data transferred to my the data partition (journal extended) on my new hard drive.
When I enter time machine I can't "see" my last back updates before I changed hard drives.
I put my old hard drive in a case and it "isn't working" so I can't just copy data from my old hard drive.  It did work initially but now it doesn't mount and I can't see it in disk utility.
Any Ideas on how I can get my user data off my time machine back up?
I forgot to mention that when I go into my external hard drive containing my time machine via finder and click on the folder with my user data I'm not able to open the various files - they have a red "-" and it says, The folder “Desktop” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.  In disk utility I can't run repair disk permision on my time machine drive because it is grayed out.
    Thanks - Dave

I see. Don't do that. I do not believe using Migration Assistant is a valid method of accomplishing what you intend.
Furthermore, unless you are using the "Enter Time Machine" feature, you really shouldn't pick and choose what you want to copy from a Time Machine backup... "no user serviceable parts inside". You can certainly find and individual files and folders in the Finder, but you will run into the permissions problems you describle. I would not attempt to circumvent those protections.
As I understand Time Machine, you must either restore a volume from a Time Machine backup, thereby erasing the volume first, or restore individual files and folders by using "Enter Time Machine" when the backup has already been properly designated for the source.
Since your replacement hard disk - the source, now - is technically new, the latter is not an option. It's as if you were trying to restore to a different computer. This can't be done.

  • Problems transfering files from iMac to iMac via External HD

I recently bought a new iMac. I have been trying to transfer all my files from my old G5 Intel iMac onto my new one with my external HD.
My first problem was that when trying to copy the files onto my new Mac I was prompted with a message saying that I didnt have the privileges to do this! After a quick look around various forums I tried to edit the folders by going to 'Get Info' then changing all the tabs to read & write in the sharing and permissions section.
After a few hours, still no joy!
So I just tried to edit the 'Sharing & Permissions' of the files on my old Mac, and then copy them again to my HD to see if that would work, but now I am prompted with a message saying
'The finder cannot complete the operation because some data in ".DS_Store" could not be read or written.
    (error code -36)
    Can anyone help?
    Or suggest an easier way?
All I am trying to do is make all my files 'read & write' so I can put them onto my new Mac.
    Thank you.

Both your computers are Macs, so choose +Mac OS Extended (Journaled)+.
It does no harm to have the Mac OS 9 drivers on there, but if that drive will never be connected to a Mac with Mac OS 9, you can uncheck it.
If that drive was previously formatted for Windows, instead of using the Erase tab, you may want to go to the Partition tab. Reset the +Volume Scheme+ to *1 Partition*. Click on the Options button. Make sure the +Partition Map Scheme+ is NOT set to +Master Boot Record+. If one of your iMacs is a G5 (PowerPC) iMac, and you will not be using this external drive to boot your new Intel iMac, +Apple Partition Map+ would be the best choice. If you want may want to use this drive to boot your Intel iMac at some point, and your G5 iMac has Tiger (10.4) or later, you can use +GUID Partition Table+ instead.

Unfortunately it does not, but I bought the firewire cable and I've just found out how to import the files from the camera.
I'm not sure whether you're confirming that there is no FW port or not.
I shot with this camera a while ago and my recollection is that it does have a FW (iLink) port. If that's right…
Then you  need 2 adaptors – a Thunderbolt to Firewire adaptor and a FW 400 4 pin to FW800 9 pin adaptor. (Perhaps you already have the latter.)
From your description it sounds like your Mac and FCP should recognize the camera, which is encouraging.  Next, you choose an event and select import media from the drop down menu.
If you start play and it reports no data, it's possible you're at the end of a tape. So hit the rewind and hopefully things will be good. If they are, you can first hit the play icon in the import window and either Import or Create Archive buttons.
