Problem transporting data source on R/3 side - missing text

Hi guys
We are trying to transport a BC data source with enhancement from DEV to TEST. The person doing the enhancement is long gone.
When we try to include the data source in a transport, we get the error:
"The short text of data source is not maintained in language E"
If we login in English we can see the short text missing. However this being BC, how do we add the text?

Hi Karsten,
This text missing, is from the transfer structure?
You may access from transaction se11 and edit the transfer structure in English, and add the missing texts in that language.

System : SCM 5.0 (SP 8), BI 7.0 (SP 12)
1) We are trying to transport Data source objects from Development server to Quality server.
2) Data sources of Type R/3 and Web Service.
3) We are able to transport the objects from Dev.
4) Once we import the objects to Quality server, the objects are becoming into INACTIVE stage.

Issue transporting data sources in BI 7.0

Hello guyz
This question is regarding transporting data sources for BI 7.0.
1. First we transport master data sources from ECC Dev to ECC QA.
2. In BI 3.x version, we would need to first replicate these data sources form ECC QA to BI QA.
3. Then we would release our BI transports, which had the transfer and update rules.
4. Do we need to do the same thing in BI 7.0?
5. My understanding is, we do step 1. But then we skip step 2 and just move the data source along with the transformations form BI Dev to BI QA.
6. Please not that we are doing a new implementation, so we are also migrating each and every datasource to its 7.0 version.
7. I just need the step by step method of transporting, (if needed replication and migrations steps) from DEV to QA in the new BI 7.0 world.

First you need to transport master data and then transactional data sources.
After transporting go to the target system and than replicate it.

Problem accessing data from Destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_ SID //sap/bc/fp/

This error message has many threads. However, I have not seen any postings for NW CE 7.1. The configuration for this version of JAVA and ADS is very different from any of the documentation that we have found. We suspect a config issue but cannot find any pertinent documentation for ADS configuration and NW CE 7.1 (we are SP11).
Where can we find ADS configuration documentation for NW CE 7.1?
Please help.
So far, we are mainly using test FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE which seems to prove that the destination configuration is the problem. Fortunately, some of the configuration was automated. But not all.

Thanks for the help, so far. I have gotten one step closer by manually starting all processes and services related to Adobe Document Services. CE 7.1 is quite a bit different.
I can now get a byte count returned with the test FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE in SE38 without checking the "with destination service" box. When I check the box, I still get the "Problem accessing data from Destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_<SID>//sap/bc/fp/ message".
The problem is related to the return of the rendering service from the Java side via the Java destination service.
Note that the ABAP side with the problem is ECC 6.0 EHP3 SP1.

Problem while transporting Data Source

I get error while transport datasource from DEV to PROD:
DataSource <DS> does not exist in source system <PRD_SYSTEM> of version A
Field <XXXX> will not be delivered from DataSource <DS> in source system <PRD_SYSTEM>
What does it mean? Do I need to activate <DS> datasource in source system PRD_SYSTEM?

1. Transport the Datasource from D to P system in R/3.
2. Replicate the corresponding R/3 Sorce system in BW Production system.
3. Right click on the datasource overview and check whether ur data source is available or not.
4. If available then transport all the required info objects first from BW Dev to Prod System.
5. Then transport your Infosource and other objects.
This way will be fine.
This error normally will occur when the data source is not replicated and the required info objects are not transported to the Prod system from Dev system.

Error while transporting data source

I am trying to transport a DSO, Data source, Transf, DTP in the same request but i am getting error code 8.
Here is the error log.

Source system is BI source system and data source is based on a function module which have logic to get data from other DSO's and IO's with BI system.
Why its giving me an error saying Infosource no available in SS when i am transporting.
Did anyone came across similar issue? Any suggestions?

1)Check this infosource ZBIU_OTCSO_TR_VMI_ORDDEL flow in Dev system, where it is been used.. and also check the code in the FM.
2) IF you are trasnporting entirely a new data flow then goto transport connection and check.
3)If you are trasporting the existing flow(may not be entire flow, but like Datasource enhacment ..) cross check with PRD system for the earlier version and chek what are the changes which you are tying to do now.
2)check your Trasport request once again(collected objects)..Activate the FM, DS and then transport.

Its a new data flow from DEV to QA and i checked for that infosource in transport connection and there are no hits for that infosource. I found it only in the case of Datasource.
I doubt on the conversion of SS names. Can anyone tell me how I can validate the conversion of Source Systems.
Any suggetions?

Error while transporting data source from Dev to QA

Hi , I am transporting 0glaccext hier data source. I created the transport with the the transfer rules and the corresponding Infopackage. when I collect the transfer rules I have 4 transfer structures present in the transfer rules which are
" 0GLACCEXT_T011_HIER_BA1" BA2 , BA3 and BA4. when I am importing the data source, I am getting the following error messages
"Mapping between data source 0GLACCEXT_T011_HIER and source system QASCLNT400 is inconsistent"
and then
"Reference to transfer structure 0GLACCEXT_T011_HIER_BA1 not available. No activation possible.
Message no. RSAR436
Diagnosis
Transfer structure 0GLACCEXT_T011_HIER_BA1 should be transported into this system.
However, no DataSource mapping refers to this transfer structure.
System Response
The transfer structure was not activated or deleted.
Procedure
Ensure that DataSource mapping, with a reference to the transfer

Have changed the field type from CURR to DEC and have set external instead of internal.
Then, the import with flatfile worked fine.

Problem with Data source- full load is not extracting where as delta can.

I have a problem in loading of the region values into BW.
Data Source 0CRM_OPPT_I is used to fetch opportunities ( same as Sales Orders in ECC) from CRM system.Data source has a field 0CRM_TR which gives the values of region values pof the employee responsible. problem here is that CRM_TR value is not being fetched when the record was first created, but the value is being flown to BW in the delta run i.e. when a change happened in record.
Please anyone help us out in resolving this issue.

Hav u done init........if yes........What u hav done....I mean.....init with or w/o data transfer.....?
It has picked records or not? if yes...........after init.........hav u checked the Delta queue(RSA7) in the source system...........is the Total field is 0 or not.........if 0..then....
Look if u r using Direct delta.then after init.any changes or new records will get recorded in the Delta queue(RSA7) directly..........but if the Update mode is Unserialized V3 update or Qued delta.then data will accumulated in the Update table and the Extraction Queue respectively...........in that case u hav to schedule V3 jobs to pull them in RSA7............otherwise delta load will pick 0 records only........
Check the update mode of the Datasource in LBWE.......

Problem in Data Source

Hello,
The database connection is not created from data-sources.xml in the server start up. I am really worried as where exactly the problem is...!!! Everywhere, it is mentioned that, OC4J configures the settings from the \config directory during server start.
I wonder as why there is a problem in database connection. Below is the data-sources.xml file in config directory.

Should i initialize any item before database connection? I have tried this with JDeveloper and Stand alone OC4J. Connection was made to the database. But i dont understand why is the problem in remote machine.

Achyuth -- Data source min connections were not always honored in releases prior to v9021. In releases v9021 and later the behavior is honored with certain restrictions that are described in the documentation. From reading another posting you made it appears that you are on v1022x so connections are not made on startup but on use.

Problem in Data Source Creation

Hi,
I am trying to create a Data Source from trans. RSO2
from -extraction from DB view - view/table -(my table name).
But when i am trying to save this, it is giving the error "Invalid Extract structure template (my table name)".
My table is valid and existung in that client.
What should be done in this case????

your extract structure will have some currency fields and/or some unit fields ..
if you go to the base tables , there is a tab for currency fields .. check that andfind out the lookup that the field you want uses , bring that into the view and then generate your datasource.
fields like MEINH , MEINS will be used for unit lookup ad TCURC etc fo currency lookups , you would have to bring these fields into the view..

Problem in data source mapping - CAF entity service.

I created an external service for the bapi given below.
It has 2 tables as input parameters.
In entity service I created attributes(for input parameters) for table1 and table2. but in data source i couldn't map more than one attribute to the MATNRSELECTION and PLANTSELECTION.The attributes of the bapi are under the same collection.
I'm using NWDS version 7.0.06.
BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST (To List all Materials for a Particular Plant)

in your entity if you did create 2 attributes for one material number and one for plant, you can map them to the corresponding MATNRSELECTION-MATNR_LOW and PLANTSELECTION-PLANT_LOW.
For the sign and option, you should uncheck the IsNull parameter in the "Entity to External Operation parameters" mapping window of the Datasource Tab of your entity. And you should set default values like sign = I and option = EQ or something like that.
But if you want to pass a list of material numbers or plants, I do have a recollection from last year experiments of some limitation using collections as input parameters. maybe somebody else had better success with that

I have made sure that the classes12.zip in in my CLASSPATH. OS HP-UX 11.00. Help!!!

OC4J does not pickup the CLASSPATH from $CLASSPATH env variable. Do you have the classes12.zip in $OC4J_HOME/j2ee/home/lib directory?
If not can you please put that in that directory and restart your server.

Console - problem creating data source

I have just installed Weblogic Server 10.3.5 in my computer running wls1035_win32.exe. I created a simple domain.
I'm not being able to create a data source. The button NEW in "Services - Data Sources" is enabled but nothing happens when I click on it.
No message seems to be logging in any logger file (console, adminServer.log).
Can somebody help me?

Not able to fix connection not trusted problem, updating date not working, cert8.db file missing in moxilla firefox folder

I have been using firefox since several years. Few addwares like digicoupons, discountcoupons bothered me so I installed kasprosky lab anti virus and did scanning. I also made some settings in security settings of Mozilla firefox. but now I am not able to open any site with https address and also the display of webpage for youtube etc are not proper. I have downloaded and installed firefos at least 6 times but am not able to rectify the problem. The file cert8.db is not available in the folder as I triedtosearch it and delete it. The updation of system as well as internet date and time is also not working.
The error message is Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer
Pleaase advice, I have already tried troubleshooting as given in support link of Mozilla.
