Problem trying to log in the database

Hi im new using oralce i just had installed it in a P4 3.0Ghz 2GB Ram Windows XP SP3.
And when i try to login i got this error:
ERROR:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

Hi,
As you have said, you have installed the oracle. Does you have create the database during the installation or you have done only installation of oracle. If you have done only installation of oracle software then you need to create a database. If you have create the DB, with out any issues then with respect to the following error which you have posted then can couple reasons for that.
You can get the information if you google it any how the following are the reasons for that.
ORA-01034 "ORACLE not available"
Cause: Oracle was not started up. Possible causes include the
following:
- The SGA requires more space than was allocated for it.
- The operating-system variable pointing to the instance
is improperly defined.
Action: Refer to accompanying messages for possible causes and correct the problem mentioned in the other messages. If Oracle has been initialized, then on some operating systems, verify that Oracle was linked correctly. See
the platform specific Oracle documentation.
Try to go through the ORACLE Documentation, you can resolve your issue with out any concerns.

Could someone please help me with this problem? Thanks.

I installed the database with the setup program and come to think of it, I don't think you can specify whether to create a system or demo database. So I probably didn't install a demo, which is what I wanted. I also ran the SQRs and everything showed the database was correct, so I thought I did it right.
If I could install a demo with the setup program, I would do that because I think I could run through it pretty quickly having done it once. I've read in this forum and other places that it's much better to install the db manually, so maybe I'll just do that.
In any case, thanks for all you help Nicolas.

  • I have two facebook accounts availible when I click the facebook icon in aperture it tries to log into the disabled account. It doesn't give me any option to continue making an album for the enabled account. Why?

I have two facebook accounts availible when I click the facebook icon in aperture it tries to log into the disabled account. It doesn't give me any option to continue making an album for the enabled account. Why?

I suppose I could delete it, but the whole point of multiple accounts is so I can post to either. One is mine, one is my wife's. If it is not enabled why would I need to log into it to post to my own account. The system has no problem associating existing albums with my account, I is only failing to allow me to choose only my account to create an new one. It is clearly designed to handle multiple accounts, but seems to have a bug directing it to ask for the password for a disabled account instead of allowing selection of and posting to the enabled one.

  • HT4314 I am trying to log into the Game Centre App and it keeps telling me I could not connect to Game Centre Server.....it has been like this for 4 days.  What's going on?

I have been trying to log onto the Game Centre App to try and combine my son's Hay Day accounts (he somehow has 2 of them now although we used the same Apple ID when we set up his new iPad mini at Christmas).  It keeps saying that we cannot access the server.  Anyone else have this problem?
Also, why is it that when I set up his account on the new device it game me a different user name?

    You can try here:
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
it could be a Apple problem since some other uses have reported the same problem today.

Both Mail and Safari have Activity Options that open a  screen that shows you just how the site or mail is loading.
In Safari if you are having trouble with a site in activity you will see the count of items being downloaded - and if an error occurs it shows red.
On the top is the number of items it is loading or trying to load and the count should be increasing.   If the count stops, and you don't have errors it may be that too many people are going after the same site and your request just timed out. Have had the time out on a news site when trying to load a most popular article.

  • Report Viewer unable to log into the database

I'm fairly novice to ZFD Inventory and have a reporting issue when attempting to run from ConsoleOne (1.3.6f). Receive a Report Viewer error that states "unable to log into the database. Ensure the ODBC driver...".
TID 10094443 describes my symptom exactly but apparently doesn't apply. It applies to ZFD6.5 and we're running 7. Does the Oracle fix it refers to even apply to ZFD7 Inventory? If not, what does address my issue?
    Is it SQL now?
    Thanks for any help.

If you are using the Sybase database with ZDM7, take a look at the file \database drivers\odbcreadme.txt file on the Novell ZENworks 7 Companion 2 CD (downloadable from novell.com if you don't already have it). Page 347 of the ZDM 7 Install Doc also mentions this procedure:

on this forum is an excellent entry with lots of hints and tipp for the IC WebUI:

    maybe this will help.

  • Total no. of users logged into the database

Can we find out total number of users logged into the database? I do not have DBA privileges.
If it is not possible by a straight SQL then do I have any other options?
    Thanks.

You can find the list of all users using the query "Select * from V$Sesssion_connect_info". This requires access to system tables. But this query gives the OS user information and not the database user information.

  • SQL0964C  The transaction log for the database is full

    Hi,
i am planning to do QAS refresh from PRD system using Client export\import method. i have done export in PRD and the same has been moved to QAS then started imported.
    DB Size:160gb
    DB:DB2 9.7
    os: windows 2008.
I facing SQL0964C  The transaction log for the database is full issue while client import and regarding this i have raised incident to SAP then they replied to increase some parameter like(LOGPRIMARY,LOGSECOND,LOGFILSIZ) temporarily and revert them back after the import. Based on that i have increased from as below mentioned calculation.
the filesystem size of /db2/<SID>/log_dir should be greater than LOGFILSIZ*4*(Sum of LOGPRIMARY+LOGSECONDARY) KB
    From:
    Log file size (4KB)                         (LOGFILSIZ) = 60000
Number of primary log files                (LOGPRIMARY) = 50
Number of secondary log files               (LOGSECOND) = 100
    Total drive space required: 33GB
    To:
    Log file size (4KB)                         (LOGFILSIZ) = 70000
Number of primary log files                (LOGPRIMARY) = 60
Number of secondary log files               (LOGSECOND) = 120
    Total drive space required: 47GB
But still facing the same issue. Please help me to resolve the ASAP.

    Hi Babu,
I believe you should have taken a restart of your system if log primary are changed.  If so, then increase log primary to 120 and secondary to 80 provide size and space are enough.

  • Problem about Indexes missing in the database

    Dear all,
We found a missing index in DB02 view of our sap system.
This missing index is a Secondary index,
    and its name is S509-VAB.
We tried to create it in DB, but got below error log as below:
Index S509~VAB could not be set up in the database
    Message no. DI 006
    Diagnosis
It was not possible to create the index in the database.
This could be caused by the fact that an index with the same name exists in the database, but it is unknown to the ABAP/4 Dictionary. Activating the index in the ABAP/4 Dictionary is possible, but it is not possible to create it in the database.
    Procedure
For more information about the cause of the error, analyze the SQL error messages in this log.
Our question is How to Activate the index in the ABAP/4 Dictionary?
    Anyone experienced,
    Please kindly give advice.
    Regards,
    Allen

    Hi Allen,
S509 is an information structure table. Data is populated into it post we do some necessary cutomizing and is mainly used for reporting purpose. I do not know what reports you are generating out of this. Hence difficult to say whether you can ignore this missing index or not.
I would suggest you to do the following
In se14, type the table name S509.
Go to indexes tab. Look for the list of indexes defined.
Select the index name VAB ( Which is missing in your case ).
    1) check the status of this index ? Does it says "exists in database"
    2) If point 1 is not valid then , select the option create in database button and create the index in the database.

  • LoadDB problem: no version found for the database

    HEllo,
I try to use the loadDB directive with an existing pool and wlst offline but I always receive the error "No version found for the database". I tried to create a pool with the console and use it as loading pool but that didn't worked.
I saw in the script.log file that my pool was correctly found but it seems that it can't found the driverName attribute of my pool when trying to get version.
I have checked and the drivername is correctly set.
Any idea? I will post the complete stack and the script.log later.

  • ORA-12514 when trying to connect to the database using SERVICE

    Hi,
    Version 10204
In a single instance database i would like to create new SERVICEs in order to use them later with Resource Manager.
    The instance name is DWH.
    I run the following commands:
I added to the tnsnames.ora file the following input:
    XYZ =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = xxx)(PORT = 1522))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = XYZ)
    As SYSDBA i execute:
    > exec DBMS_SERVICE.CREATE_SERVICE('xyz','xyz');
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    > exec DBMS_SERVICE.START_SERVICE('xyz');
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
But when i tried to connect to the instance:
    sqlplus ac/ac@xyzSQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production on Sat Nov 1 14:44:43 2008
Copyright (c) 1982, 2007, Oracle. All Rights Reserved.
    ERROR:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect
    descriptor
When i am trying to connect , not via the service , its successed:
    sqlplus ac/ac@dwh
    SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production on Sat Nov 1 14:45:07 2008
Copyright (c) 1982, 2007, Oracle. All Rights Reserved.
    Connected to:
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
Could you please help to understand why its failed to connect via SERVICE ?
    Thanks

    You told us.
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor.
I ask some questions, you set alias for listener port (no default) + local_listener parameter, don't you?
    If you did....
    Please check by .....
    lsnrctl status
    lsnrctl service
    Let me show my example:
    About 1522 (no default port)
    SQL> show parameter local_listener
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    local_listener string ALIASLISTENER
    - check tnsnames.ora file in the same location listener.ora file.
    $ cat tnsnames.ora
    ALIASLISTENER=
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost )(PORT = 1522))
    - About create new service
    SQL> show parameter service_names
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    service_names string db
    SQL> exec DBMS_SERVICE.CREATE_SERVICE('xyz','xyz');
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> exec DBMS_SERVICE.START_SERVICE('xyz');
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> show parameter service_names
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    service_names string xyz
