Problem Trying to Subscribe to a Google Calendar in iCal

We work with a freelance contactor who has shared his Google calendar to one of our staff. When he shares it she gets an email invitation, follows the included link, and can see the shared calendar just fine in Google Calendar.
She wants to have the calendar visible in iCal on her iMac as well. When we go to ‘Subscribe’ in iCal and enter the URL for the shared calendar we get this error:
There was an error subscribing to the calendar - a calendar wasn't found
The Google Calendar invite link includes a button for iCal – which generates the URL we enter when getting that error. There is also a button / option to get it in XML – we have tried that too and got the same error.
Has anyone seen this issue? Any suggested fixes?

Having the same problem here - it's driving me nuts!
I tried installing YAI, but I can't make it point to the correct calendar. I can cut and paste an event into the Google Calendar, but if it's an outlook invite it will delete the event on all the attendee's computers.

  • Show google calendar in ical?

I have a google calendar that I share with several work colleagues. Is there a way for me to add this calendar to iCal so it shows up on my computer, but does not sync, as when I download a 'special calendar' like U.S. Holidays?

  • Google calendar and iCal problem

    Hello
I use the google calendar with iCal. And I use the google calendar week numbers and holidays.
Before I installed lion, I had snow leopard and everything worked great.
But now, with Lion, it doesnt.
It's totally random, sometimes when I start iCal the week numbers and holidays are shown, but
shortly, after it have synced the calendars the week numbers and holidays dissappear.
And then I can try to restart it a couple a times, but nothing happens. But after a reboot it syncs, and then the
week numbers and holidays appear again.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

    Hi c014,
had the same problem. Think I'll switch back to Snow Leopard in a few days, as it has not such a high amount of bugs and it is more stable. Addtitionally it doesn't exhaust your hardware in an extend, lion does.
Let's get it to your problem:
As a Lion, iCal and Google user I had the same problem. Just got it fixed by deleting the Google CalDAV Profile in the iCal settings. When done, just add your Google account to your iCal again and voilà, that gave me back all my entries including week numbers and holidays.
Hadn't had the possibility to test if this solves the problem permanently. But I think so, as there are some other programs for example, that you can get back to work by reinstalling them, after they stopped working since Lion update.
    Hope this will help you

  • Google calendars in ical over caldav go blank

Sometimes (roughly 1/3 weeks) my google calendar in iCal goes blank - all events vanish.
The events are still there when I look at the calendar online.
I have ~5000 events over several years.
I added the calendar via Callaboration.
    This is my default calendar.
I have 3 separate machines that use caldav to access the same google calendar and they both have the same problem but generally not at the same time.
    Can anyone please help?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Just out of interest what should he Calendar list be named as iCloud or @me.com.
It doesn't matter - you can name it whatever you want. It's purely a descriptive label, nothing more.
If you want to change it, just go into the Mail, Contacts & Calendars system preferences pane, select the account in the left panel, click Details... on the right and enter the new name in the Description field.
Also why when looking at File - New Calendar are both iCloud and my me.com account listed?
It does the same for me too. It seems to be a bug. iCal seems to be seeing your AppleID as an extra potential place to store calendars, although it doesn't actually do anything if you try.

  • How do you link Google calendar to iCal in Maverick?

Just downloaded Maverick (great) to my late 2008 aluminium laptop but cannot link Google Calendar with iCal.  In iCal tried deleting old account and re-entering but still iCal does not sync, although it still does on iPad and iPhone.  Any ideas?

    Hi there,
I have tested this out on my backup disk and there is a slight modification to the method. Will highlight this with quotation.
    ================================================================================ ==
It appears that once upgraded to Mavericks, the calendar folders are no longer compatible with the latest version of iCal. Hence why it crashes.
    To remediate,
    Close the iCal App
Duplicate the folder (For Backup reason)     /Users/YOURPROFILE/Library/Calendar
Delete all content with in      /Users/YOURPROFILE/Library/Calendar
    Go to:-
System Prefences | Internet Account | iCloud
    Uncheck Calendars, Recheck Calendars
    Select the iCloud profile
Press "-" to delete the whole iCloud profile.
Recreate the iCloud profile by select "+" then iCloud
Enter your iCloud Username and Password
It will asked you if you wish to merge the database. (You may have to do this more then once)
    For every other google calendar
Uncheck Calendars (if already checked), Recheck Calendars
Hopefully this will recreate all the calender folders within /Users/YOURPROFILE/Library/Calendar and start re-syncing.
Once you are satified that all your calender are syncing, delete the /Users/YOURPROFILE/Library/Calendar copy
    Good Luck.

  • Google Calendar in ical

Is there a way to import my google calendar into ical? I have my google email account set up using the mac mail client and it works great, but I need my calendar too. Is this possible?

    Have a look at THIS.

  • How can i import my calendar events from google calendar to ical?

how can i import my calendar events from google calendar to ical?

To set up CalDAV support for Google Calendar in Apple's iCal, follow these steps:
Open Apple iCal, go to Preferences and then the Accounts tab.
Click on the + button to add an account.
In the box that pops up, enter a description for the account and your Google Account username and password.
Under Server Options, add the following URL:
    https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user//www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user
Replace '[email protected]' with the email address that you use to log in to Calendar. Make sure to include the '@domain.com' portion (which is @gmail.com for Gmail users) in this section.
DO NOT substitute your username for 'user' at the end of the URL.
Leave the Use Kerberos v5 for authentication option unchecked.
    Click Add.
Under the Delegation tab, select the calendars you'd like to add to iCal by checking the boxes next to them. You may need to hit refresh to get the latest list of calendars.
Add your email address to your Address Book card by selecting Add Email. You'll be prompted to add your email address only if your address is not already in your Address Book.
You won't be able to invite or email guests to Google Calendar events within iCal if your address is not in your Address Book.
Your Google Calendar will now appear in iCal's list of calendars, and changes you make to your Google Calendar in iCal will be reflected when you sign in to Google Calendar.
Event information will automatically refresh every five minutes. You can change this interval by opening the iCal > Preferences > Accounts menu and selecting a new refresh interval under the 'Refresh calendars' drop-down. Keep in mind you can also force a refresh by selecting a calendar and pressing the Apple and R keys at the same time.
Calendars that are checked but disabled have already been added to iCal - you can remove them from within iCal.

  • Can't sync google calendar to ical

I had google calendar working perfectly using CalDav before updating to Mavericks. Even after the update it worked perfectly. Then I deleted my google account on Mavericks so I could get the email working again. Now Mac Mail works perfectly with GMail IMAP. But, I can't get iCal to work using caldav and google calendar. Anybody got this working, and if so, how? Google Calendar changed their servers a few months ago, but I have the correct url. Help!

I've been working at this for 2 days now.  I added my Google calendar in iCal a few days ago and it worked fine just by going through the internet accounts setup in Mavericks.  I deleted the account because I was having issues with duplicate contacts and such and now I can't add it again.

  • Subscribe to a Google Calendar

I like the fact that I can sync my iCal to Google Calendar and have my officemates access it.
Now, my problem is this: How can I use iCal to subscribe to my officemate's Google Calendar?
On iCal, I clicked on "Subscribe" and pasted my officemate's Google Calendar address like: http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/.... .calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics.
I get the error as follows:
"Error subscribing to calendar. No calendar was found on http://yadda yadda yadda... Please check the URL."
What am I doing wrong? Please help.

It's probable that your office mate has disabled sharing of their calendar. Get them to check the sharing settings and make sure that either:
Share all information on this calendar with everyone
    or:
Share only my free / busy information (hide details)
    are set, not:
    Do not share with everyone

What make and model is the router that are you using?  Or, is this a hot spot setup?  Are you able to access other Apps on the front panel successfully?  Can you access HP apps successfully?  Have you received any error messages on the front panel of the printer?

  • Adding an ics file to a Google calendar in iCal synced by Calaboration

"HTTP/1.1 403 Cannot create/update events where you are not the organizer"
Under 10.5.5 we were able to send out iCal invitations by right clicking on an event and choosing mail event. The recipient would then be able to add the item to their calendar and edit it if necessary.
However, under 10.5.6 you are no longer able to edit events which you did not organize - which means that if a meeting time changes you then have to delete and re-create the entire event in order to change the time.
Furthermore, if you attempt to add the event to a CALDAV calendar, the server returns an errors stating that you are not able to create or modify events which you did not organize (see error above). This presents a large issue for us as a large part of our calendaring workflow involves sending out iCal invites via mail.

Having the same problem here - it's driving me nuts!
I tried installing YAI, but I can't make it point to the correct calendar. I can cut and paste an event into the Google Calendar, but if it's an outlook invite it will delete the event on all the attendee's computers.

  • Can't enable Google Calendar in iCal

I mistakingly deleted my Google internet account in Mavericks because I was having issues with contacts not syncying.  Now that I am trying to add it again, it won't let me.  I'm getting 2 different error messages:
"Access to account “Google” is not permitted.
    The server responded:
    “403”
    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation."
The other error message I was receiving yesterday just said that a "secure connection could not be established".  I deleted my iCal cache files as suggested in another forum post which stopped that error message from coming up.  I have also set up the 2-step verification process through Google hoping that would solve the problem, but it hasn't.
I feel like it's something I'm missing, but I'm tired of trying to figure this out on my own.
    Any suggestions?
