Problem trying to update iPhone 4 to latest software
When in iTunes, it is asking me if I want to update my iPhone Software. But when I click to do that, I keep getting the message, "There are purchased items on the iPhone “Kathy Cortez’s iPhone” that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPhone. Are you sure you want to continue?"
Where do I find what these items are?
I have the iPhone 4. I currently have IOS 7.0.2. It is asking me to update to IOS 7.0.4.
File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.

When I looked at the phone a while later, the screen was dark except for the iTunes icon in the middle of the screen and another icon showing the charger cable and an arrow point to the iTunes icon. If you only see the "connect to iTunes" screen on your iPhone, this means that the device is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. The information and steps in this article can help further:

I'll assume that your phone was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it from the original carrier and when you updated it locked back up to the original carrier. -

Please can someone help me to solve the error message "Could not activate cellular data network: PDP authentication failure"when using 3G or GPRS on safari with an iphone 4GS and latest software updates. All iPhones sold in Japan are sold carrier locked and cannot be officially unlocked by the carrier. If you unlocked it, it was by unauthorized means (hacked), and support cannot be given to you in this forum.
Hacked iPhones are subject to countermeasures by Apple, particularly when updating the firmware. It is likely permanently re-locked or permanently disabled.

I kept all my iPhones after I upgrading to the latest one each time my 2 year contract was up so I have an iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 & iPhone 4S. I actually still use all 3 phones for different purposes. My iphone 3gs is not activated, but I still use it for apps among other things when connected to wifi. My iphone 4 & 4s are both activated with 2 saparete phone numbers, but I have all 3 devices on the same iTunes account. I never noticed this to be a problem until just recently when I was thinking about selling one of my iphones since I'm now due to upgrade again to the iPhone 5. Well my problem is that when the latest iphone software update came available I noticed that all 3 iPhones had a notification letting me know that there was a new update available & I didn't want to update my iphone 4 & 4S until I had a recent back-up on my pc just incase anything went wrong like once before. Referring to the last time I updated my iphone 4s for some reason right in the middle of the update it lost connection. So I had to restore my entire phone from scratch & because I didn't check to make sure that had a recent back up right before I updated I ended up losing a lot of important information. So anyway since my iphone 3GS I knew had a recent back up & plus it doesn't have a lot of important information stored on it I chose to go ahead & update it first. Then later on when I went to update my other two iPhones I noticed the notification that was there before on all my phones to let me know the update was available was now gone & it would not give me the option to update either of my other two phones. I don't know if this is true or not, but I was later told that Apple will only let you download the free update software on only one device on each iTunes account & since I have all 3 devices on one itunes account I could only choose to update one. I didn't know this beforehand so I used the update on my 3GS which I barely use except to play with on wifi & now my other two iPhones which are the main ones I use are both activated now function very slow & constantly crash. Also if I was to choose to sale one of the iPhones without the latest software update on it does that mean that the new owner will not be able to get the latest update meaning the phone would be out of date without having that latest software installed? If anyone knows how to help me fix this or give some advice I would really appreciate!!
That's utter non-sense.
Just connect your 4 & 4S, iTunes running, & hit the "Check for Updates" button, or you can update directly on the phones(if running iOS 5.0 or higher): Settings>General>Software Update.
iOS 6.1.3 is the current iOS version for both phones. -
I'm using Iphone 5 .After updating it with the latest software i.e iOS 7.0.6 I'm not able to see the wats app and imsg on my notification center when my phone is locked until and unless i activate the "Show on Lock Screen" under each application. which was not same as in the earlier software version.I dnt want my messages or watsapp msges to be displayed on home screen when locked but should be displayed on the notification center on lock condition.
Please suggest a solution or @Apple please get a software release which can remove this bug .We aren't Apple, just users like you. Have you tried a reset? Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

I have an iPhone 5 running latest software 7.1.1. Since the update I noticed that my photos weren't syncing in My Photo Stream album on my pc. The photos taken do show up in My Photo Stream folder on my iphone and ipad. I have googled and noticed that this is quite a widespread problem.
I must stress that I have never had a problem with photos from my iPhone not syncing with my pc before. This is the first time I have encountered this problem, so this has nothing to do with my Wi-Fi or my pc because nothing has changed in that respect. My pc's operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
6 days ago I took steps to try and kick start syncing again by uninstalling the iCloud panel on my pc.
1. Uninstalled the iCloud panel.
2. I saved all the photos that were in my My Photo Stream on my pc to another folder.
3. Deleted the My Photo Stream folder.
4. Rebooted.
5. Downloaded iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows from support Apple site and installed on my pc.
6. Logged in to iCloud, set up syncing.
7. Rebooted.
I noticed that there is now a folder on my pc called iCloud Photos with subfolders which one is My Photo Stream as well as my share iPhone folders.
The photos are still not syncing.
I have only 34 photos in My Photo Stream on my pc.
I have deliberately taken random photos over the last few days since the actions of uninstalling and re installing the iCloud panel.
Out of a dozen which I took yesterday, only one has showed up in My Photo Stream on my pc. Only 6 photos out of fifty photos which I have taken since uninstalling/reinstalling the iCloud panel have appeared in My Photo Stream on my pc.
My iPhone shows that I have 980 photos in My Photo Stream so it shows that something is not quite right with syncing to the pc.
Hopefully someone has an answer or a fix?

I should have mentioned that I have signed out of the iCloud Control Panel several times and no syncing occurs.

It's set to automatically import CDs when they're loaded using the AAC encoder and error correction. After they're importedm the songs and albums show up in the iTunes library, but they don't sync with my iPhone.
I've tried the following: Went to the Genius Bar at the Apple store for advice, which was useless (unusual); deleted & reinstalled iTunes; switched from syncing all music to syncing manually (and checked every song, album & genre; deleted the newly-added CDs that didn't sync and re-loaded them.
Is this an iOS 8 problem? Am I encoding incorrectly? If not AAC encoder, then what? -

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
