I am getting the below error while installing Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (11.1.2.1.0)

Unable to install Oracle 9.0.1 on Linux RedHat

Hi,
I am unable to install Oracle 9.0.1 on Linux RedHat, tried many times. While installing i get following errors-
"Error in invoking target install of makefile
/usr/oracle/9.0.1/plsql/lib/ins-plsql.mk"
"error in invoking target ioracle of makefile
/usr/oracle/9.0.1/rdbms/lib/ins-rdbms.mk"
"Error loading native library : libnjni.so"
Installation halts while configuring Net Confugration Assistant....
Any workaround ???

There are many versions of RedHat. Your post indicates you are using one of them, but your post really does not give a hint as to which one. Funny thing is - different versions have different install requirements.
I really don't understand why operating system version is such a big secret. Especially since it is logically so critical to installation issue. Even when installing on Windows, the first questions is 'which Windows'.
You have, of course, followed the suggestions at http://www.puschitz.com and noted the errors and workarounds, have you not.
Especially about things like packages and versions.

Unable to install Oracle Developer Suite 10 on SuSe Linux 11.0

I have installed Oracle 11g on SuSe Linux 11.0 with no issues. I am unable to install Oracle Developer Suite10.12.02 on same (SuSe 11.0). The installation gets to about 94% and then fails with the following error:

The only serious flaw I can see in the config is that I'm using libstd++ 4.3 instead of the requested 3.2.2 which 'should' be acceptable as it's a newer version - can anyone help please? Thanks in advance for any helpful advice anyone can offer.

How to install Oracle imaging & process management in windows xp prof

Hi All
I am trying to install oracle Imaging & Process management in windows XP. Please let me know whether it is possible in windows XP or not... which I couldn't able to install in XP. when I saw the Install doc, it mentioned it is possible in windows server 2003. Installation guide mentioned that we have to setup 6 or 7 different server setups.

If any one have I/PM installation steps for windows server 2003 Please provide the steps.
Any input would be greatly appreciable.

Vijay,
IPM is not certified to be installed on Windows XP (as for IPM services).
It is possible to install IPM on one server machine (or two, if you need Web). First, you have to decide, which services you have to install.

MAke sure you have not set ANY environment variable related to Oracle / BEA / Java / LD_library path. Use the following script to unset / set the initial settings:

Installing Oracle Virtual Directory Manager client on Solaris 10

Hi,
While installing Oracle Virtual Directory Client on solaris 10, I am getting
"ovidm1014.bin : /tmp/install.dir.<number>/linux/resource/jre/bin/java: cannot execute" error while initiating the installer.
Can someone look into the message and advice me in overcoming the issue as we are held up on this for three days?

If you already installed Oracle Virtual Directory Manager on Sun SPARC, can you brief us pre-requisite setting and installation steps, so that we can follow the same.
Because, we are getting error in the initialization of installation process itself. So, I think there must be some configuration settings to be made.
We already raised SR (Service Request) with Oracle, bu there is no reply from their side till now.

Struck In Installing Oracle eSSO Kiosk Manager!

I am digging my head while installing Oracle eSSO Kiosk Manager(v-go passlogix Signon Manager). I downloaded the software ESSO bundle from OTN and started the installation as per the notes.In the Kiosk Manager Installation ,setup PDF which is very vague,it has been said before installing KM we should install Logon Manager version 10.1.4.0.3(searched for the mentioned version in the bundle),but to my worries, i could not find the mentioned version of LM.anyway proceeded with the 10.1.0.4 version of LM and tried to configure it with Microsoft Active directory, till this the installation is fine and it works ,but when i installed the Kiosk Manager ,after rebooting the machine,It does not allow me login again to my machine.the Kiosk manager console only opens and the unlock dialogue is disabled and start new session dialogue also does not work.whats wrong with my installation .Can anybody throw some lights on this.?According to my knowledge it shuld be the version of Logon Manager which is the issue( i think the version in the bundle ) is not compatible. but where to download the version 10.1.4.0.3 ,had anybody tried at all this installation.It will be great if any can help me out this .

Installing Oracle Web Services Manager 10.1.3.1 - ZipFileException

I was attempting to install Oracle Web Services Manager in a cluster and place both the Gateway OC4J and the WSM OC4J in the same oracle home.
When Adding New Component for Gateway, received a ZipFileException.

I resolved the issue by undeploying the ccore, cman, and policymanager applications from both Gateway OC4Js and also undeploying the gateway from both WSM OC4Js and undeploy cman from ONE of the WSM OC4Js.

Problem in installing Oracle BPEL process manager 10.1.3.1.0

I have started with installing oracle bpel PM using soa_windows_x86_101310_disk1.zip from oracle site. After proceeding for some time installation failed prompting "could not create java virtual machine". after searching in few forums, i have stopped installation and tried to restart opmnctl.
below is the link that i have followed

But after all these attempts i am still unable to solve the error (from error log) "Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap".

I use the "Standard Install", using a database on another server.

I get a "page not found"
Ports: 7001 amd 7002 are open, as described in the above documentation.

There is probably no much difference between the two.
The reason I have tried with 3.0.2 is that the minimun required RAM for installation is 4G.
With 3.1.1 it is 6 G, and I have a limitation in memory.
Or does someone know if it possible to perform the installation with less RAM that what is specified?

Unable to install Oracle 8i Personal Edition in Windows98 with Pentium4

I am getting error "Performed illegal Operation" when ever I
unzip and install Oracle 8i PE 8.1.7 for windows98. Error is
JREW caused an invalid page fault in module JAVAI.DLL,
suggestions was install new JRE Version. I have tried to format
hard drive (twice) thinking some software incompatibility, no
go. remove devices, no go. After further analysis it seems there
is issue installing 8i databse Personal Ed. in Pentium 4
processor with an Intel motherboard latest Bios. I have
downloaded and installed JRE Version 1.1.8_008, still no go.

I am unable to install 8i personal edition Release 3 onto my W2K machine. I download the zip file and unzip it into (c:/OracleInstall) a folder I have created on my c:/ drive. When i click on the setup.exe file it opens up. When I click on the install button the GUI disappers and nothing occurs. I have attempted to burn it onto a CD_Rom and install through the control panel and the same occurs.
I am not sure what is causing this problem. Is there any why I could request the software in a CD as opposed to a zip file? What could be causing this problem? Is the machine a P4? there is a known problem
I don't know about his machine, but mine is a P4. Where do I find this information about this problem? And is there a fix? I need to install the NET8 Assistant.

Unable to install Oracle VM 3.0.2 to an iSCSI disk

Dear users,
I am trying to install Oracle VM 3.0.2 Server on an iSCSI disk without luck. Every time that i try it, console (alt+f4) shows me this error:
"connection1:0: Could not create connection due to crc32c loading error. Make sure the crc32 module is built as a module or into the kernel"
"session1: couldn't create a new connection"
"Connection1:0 to [target iqn........, portal: 1.1.1.1,3260] through [iface: default] is shutdown.
Seeing console alt+f3 appears:
"iSCSI initiator name iqn......"
"iSCSI startup"
It seems like anaconda installer doesn't sees ip address configuration. I have tried to pass "asknetwork" option when I launch setup, but anaconda never demands network configruation. After that I have configured ethernet device on console alt+f2. Maybe is this the problem or is not possible to install Oracle VM 3.0.2 on an iSCSI disk??

Just to let you know that I actually have an SR open with Oracle about this.
I managed to track down that the problem is due to OVM 3's inability to read iBFT (iSCSI Boot Firmware Table) during install.
This was also the case with OVM 2.x - but as Oracle Linux 5.x boots via iSCSI fine via IBFT (we have OVM 3 Manager running OL6 booting from SAN fine) - we stupidly assumed that with OVM3 - being based on a newer kernel, the iBFT stuff would just work.
It didn't!
The only iSCSI booting Oracle support currently is via a full blown HBA. To clarify this is not one of those new NICs with an embedded iSCSI initiator in the ROM - we're talking about an uber expensive HBA that can load the entire iSCSI stack and presents your iSCSI LUN as a local disk.
My SR is now over a month old and unfortunately there has been very little progress made with it.
But when it comes I will be sure to post it here.....
I'm really surprised more people haven't asked for this functionality. Seems a bit of a no brainer....
