Problem up dating Photoshop CS6

1) I have Photoshop CS6 & Adobe Bridge CS6 installed since 2012. 2) I recently discovered that Bridge "Edit in Camera Raw" is missing at least one(1) function. When I go to LENS CORRECTION, under the "manual" tab, I do not have the auto correction tab, "UPRIGHT", to render a parallax adjustment. 3) I clicked on HELP, went to UPDATES and received a pop up window "Update Failed" The "ERROR LOG" file may help you in identifying the problem. 4) The ERROR LOG informed me the update could not be installed because "CS5" is missing an update. 6) When I called Adobe, I was informed Adobe no longer could supply Photoshop & Bridge CS5 updates, and that I should open a forum chat. Any suggestions PLEASE***

Mac Perpetual CS6 current version is 13.0.6 the subscription version is version 13.1.2. How are you trying to update to 13.1.?? do you have a Creative Cloud Subscription?

mam problem z aktualizacją Photoshop CS6 (z 13.0 do 13.0.1.1). Zarówno aktualizacja za pomocą automatycznego uaktualnienia jak i po pobraniu, rozpakowaniu i uruchomieniu paczki "Photoshop_CS6_13_0_1_1_upd.zip" (dla Windows) zakończyła się niepowodzeniem.

Czy możesz spróbuj zaktualizować Adobe Application Manager, jak zarządza aktualizacje dla aplikacji. Po jego aktualizacji, uruchomić aktualizację dla programu Photoshop CS6 i sprawdzić aktualizację ponownie.
Można uruchomić program Photoshop, przejdź do Pomoc - O programie Adobe Photoshop i sprawdzić, co jest obecny na liście wersji, czasami nie zdajemy sobie sprawy, że został już zaktualizowany, a tym samym nie pozwolił zainstalować.

Problem with starting Photoshop CS6 in Windows 8.1 after PC weak up from sleep

Hello,
I have continuously problems with Photoshop CS6. After weak up my PC from sleep mode Photoshop take ages to start. It take about 15 minutes than it starts. After restart it's just fine and Photoshop start up in few seconds. Before with Windows 8 was everything ok.
I tried reinstall whole Creative Suite, delete all files from system folders of Photoshop, no plugin used, all is up to date!
CS used: Creative Suite Design Standard CS6, Czech language (Photoshop 13.01 64 bit and 32 bit - both do the same)
System: PC, Windows 8.1 64bit Czech language, system and program discs: Intel and Corsair SSD, CPU Intel i7 4Ghz, 24GB RAM, Graphic - Nvidia Geforce 580 GTX (graphic drivers up to date).
Adobe need to fix that.

OK so this all went pear shaped after updating Windows to 8.1? Have a look at Preferences > Performance and see if Graphics acceleration is still checked. Or it might even be greyed out. Apparently the 8.1 installer arbitarily installs a generic graphics card driver, so you might find that your drive is not so up to date as it used to be.
You know that you need to update it from the card maker's site?

I have a MacBook Pro 13" Dual-Core i5 2.5GHz/4GB /Intel HD 4000/SD I don't know why the scrubby zoom does't work for me.

It's supported when the GPU reports to Photoshop it can provide what Photoshop needs. Adobe lists those they have tested toward the bottom of this page:

Near as I can tell, yours is listed.
If you are not able to enable the Use Graphics Processor setting, it's likely because either something's installed that interferes with the driver on your system - or the driver is faulty and needs to be updated. Mac users must get driver updates through Apple with OS updates.
To diagnose the issue further will require a Mac expert, which I am not.

i have compiled a sample plugin "OUTBOUND" from Photoshop CS6 sdk..it creates a file named outbound.8be
i have copied that file to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Plug-ins and also to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Required\Plug-Ins\Import-Export...
But none of these work..and the plugin is not showing in photoshop..how ever if i put any other plugin downloaded from internet..e.g photosynthesis..it appears in photoshop..
Plz help me that how can i install a sample plugin in photo shop cs6..

If you right click on your .r file and compile, does it compile correctly? If yes, and you right click on your .rc file does it compile correctly?
My guess is that your PiPL resource is not getting into the plug-in. The configuration for it is tricky.
Right click on your .r file. Select Properties. Select Command Line (should look something like this):

Why am I having problems printing with Photoshop CS6?

My problems started when I upgraded to Adobe CS6. Colors are off, and prints are dull, almost murky. I thought it was the printer at first, so I swapped out all my ink (big mistake), cleaned the print heads (another mistake). None of these measures were necessary. I adjusted my CS6 color settings based on advice from sources like Linda.com. No improvement. Finally I saved my Photoshop file as a flat Tiff and printed from Mac Preview. The print was gorgeous! CS6 is the problem, I just don't know how to fix it. I'd hate to have to use Preview everytime I want to print from Photoshop. The printer is fine, the paper is fine, changing RGB settings doesn't help. Any ideas?

I think I figured out a simple solution. When I selected the printing option to allow the printer to control color, rather than Photoshop, my print came out better. I've been reading threads all over the tubes and no one suggested that

Yes you solved your own question, use printer handles color, whcih shodul have been the default. If you do want to experiment with Photohsop manages color, try the CMYK profiles, and send a cmyk file. Only exception is if you print to one of the few RGB printers like a lambda.

Problem re-opening Photoshop CS6

After I close PS CS6 I am unable to open it again until I either restart the computer or end the photoshop.exe process in the task manager. I have updated to version 13.1 and Windows 7 is up to date. I have also tried deleting the preference file in PS.

Actually, sticking on exit really IS a problem Adobe should take an interest in... It's a bit beyond users to debug where an executable program is hanging up. It's not like TT can set something wrong to cause that.
That said, it doesn't fail like that for most users, implying something specific about your system is different, TT. Sometimes failures at exit mean something has corrupted parts of Photoshop that aren't executed until exit time.
Is the problem consistent (reproducible every time you run Photoshop)?
Do you have any 3rd party plug-ins installed with Photoshop? Have you tried disabling them temporarily to see if the problem goes away?
You mentioned it being Windows 7... Do you have a lot of stuff installed (e.g., Shell Extensions, stuff that augments Windows)? What anti-malware software do you have installed?
You say it's "up to date". Is that true of your display driver? What video card and display driver version do you have?

Problems with running Photoshop CS6 and Bridge with Lightroom 4 also on the same PC

I was running Photoshop and Bridge, then purchased Lightroom 4. Before installingt 4 I had no problems with Bridge, but since installing 4 all of the photo's that were held in bridge are now gone, but they are in Lightroom. With Lightroom, you are able to edit photos out of Lightroom and into Photoshop when necessary, save and close and it automatically changed the Lightroom picture.
I have two PC's, one has Bridge on it (this one) and the other without, but both have both editing prgrams installed. On the other PC I can switch between Lightroom and Photoshop with no problems, but when I try to switch with this PC, the one with Bridge installed, it will open Photoshop, but the photo will not transfer. If I close Photoshop program and go back to Lightroom, it will tell me that the picture could not be transfered to Photoshop because it would not launch. If I close that message window, it will then launch Photoshop and the picture transferes over allowing me to edit and save as normal.
My question is; does anyone know if Lightroom and Bridge should run side by side, or should I delete Bridge from this PC and see what happens. Bridge is just a holder and organizer of photos, wherease Lightroom does the same, but also has post editing capabilities. The two programs seem redundant, but if your running Photoshop, it's hard to get files out of Lightroom. It seems that you need to open Lightroom first, then you can view and chose a photo to work on, then move it back and forth between the two programs. This seems to make Bridge redundant.

Hi, Yes, but that actually wasn't the problem. I start out in Lightroom,
then move to Photoshop if I have something that can't be fixed in
Lightroom. The problem was that when I tried to edit, out of Lightroom and
into Photoshop, I was getting an error message that Lightroom couldn't
prepare files for transfer because Photoshop wouldn't open. But, it had
opened, the picture just wouldn't transfer. If I closed Photoshop,
Lightroom would try again and it would open and transfer the second time. I
ended up going to the Adobe help, chat line, and they looked into my PC and
located the problem, it's now working fine. Thanks to everyone for your
inputs. Most appreciated.

A user uses VM Ware and the OS: WIN7
She made Screenshots in the VM Ware, the Screenshots she want to edit in Photoshop, but then Photoshop lag a lot.
The PC has 16 GB RAM, but uses just 9 GB ( 6 GB for the VM(she needs 6 GB , because a Program needs so much GB) and 3 for the normal PC).
Does anybody know an answer?

Turn off hardware acceleration in the PS prefs.

I already installed Photoshop again from the Cloud (Creative Cloud), also from a different language (like American English or just Dutch, using Int. English), but still the same.
Maybe one you knows how to fix? Or had the same issue?

I found another fix, and I wonder why this one is so uncommon, because it worked like a charm for me.
There is a program called SFC which scans for missing or defective DLL and system files and repairs them. To make it work, you need to run it from the command line in "repair mode" which you can access when booting the pc. Running this program from a normal windows session won't work, because Windows won't have access to all the files.
If you hit F8 while booting, Windows will offer you some options to continue.
Choose REPAIR - don't worry, it won't do anything to your Windows installation until you explicitly opt for it.
Then you can choose your language and you can log in with your account. (Not the $homeusergroup)
Now click on the command-line icon. It will be opened right at c:\windows\system32
You can type in SFC /scannow
This program will search for defective system files and try to repair them. It may also ask for your Windows installation disc, if files are completely missing, but that didn't happen to me.

In conjunction with Jeff's suggestion, I suggest that you remove all of Epson's preferences for your preference folder especially if you are experience some other issues with other software. And especially if you have 10.6.1 installed.

If you do not have CS6 perpetual installed you should be able to install the subscription version of CS6 version 13.1.2 using the Creative cloud desktop application. Note I have CS6, CC and CC 2014 installed....
