Problem updating Acrobat 8.0 on Mac
I have Acrobat 8.0 on mac running 10.6.7. When I try to update acrobat the updater says this
Also I tried to uninstall Acrobat and the uninstaller has an X on it and is not available.
This is all in an attempt to update Acrobat 8.0.0 to hopefully allow scanning with HP scanner.
I recently upgraded to 10.6..7 on the mac and now acrobat does not communicate with scanner.
Any help would be great.
Have you tried following the path and deleting the offending file? Then Repair Permissions, restart your computer and try the update again.

I am having problems updating Acrobat X on Windows 7. Everytime an update runs there is a 1310 or 1321 error. Despite repeatedly changing UAC permissions for the files indicated in the errors the errors continue. My first issue was printing problems, which I have worked around, now I can't update, which supposedly will solve the printing issues. Failure to update via the online process is USUALLY caused by 1 of 2 things
1-firewall or antivirus settings
2-windows security settings
The USUAL fix is to manually download the files and run the updates outside of the Internet
All Adobe updates start here and select product, read to see if you need to install updates in number order, or if the updates are cumulative

Update Acrobat Professional 7.0 (mac)

Have to agree with Kirsten on this one. Having gone obediently through the step-by-step sequence from Mac Acrobat Pro 7 through all updates to 7.1.0 - time well spent - it now works (apparently) perfectly.
However I do need to buy into a solution for this little niggle...
...(pdf created from Quark layout - opened in Mac Acrobat Pro and links set to CD based PowerPoint and Quick Time "movies" - Mac platform version works as required)
I do have an issue with editing actions which should eventually link a universal CD ROM through a PDF "menu" page to various pdfs and slideshows etc. to work on PCs under Windows.
Problem is editing Actions to include the file name paths to D:\ or E:\ CD or DVD drive. The options for Actions [Open a file] seem automated to navigate to an existing file in a physical drive on the machine being used whereas I need to edit-in paths to "hypothetical files" on another platform.
Is Acrobat limited in this area or have I missed something?

Problems updating Acrobat Pro X to 10.1.0
I tried to update my Windows Acrobat Pro X (from 10.0.3 to 10.1.0) and have been getting some questionable behavior (hard to categorize for these general ones). However, what I did notice specifically is when performed the update (Have done it a couple of times hoping to "repair" the fix), I get an "Error 1328: Error applying patch to file C:\Config.msi\PT56C.tmp....". I selected "Ignore" (which may have been my mistake) and allowed the update to continue. Now, "Tools\Delete page" no longer works (what I've discovered so far) and I get an unpredictable crash/debug session that comes up (using MS Visual Studio).
I've read so far that the only way to eliminate this update is to "start all over" (Didn't see anything on this forum).
Any one else experience this and is there a better fix for it?

I downloaded the update directly from the Adobe website and installed it locally. I also disabled AVG to make sure security did not get in the way. I am running WinXP SP3.
As I mentioned, tried a couple of times. Same error 1328 result and ensuing problems with Acrobat. Just to be sure, Acrobat was working great before I installed this update I wish I could roll back the update and get Acrobat back to how it was....

New problems with Acrobat 11.03 for Mac
I'm having new problems with my Adobe Acrobat 11.03 for Mac. These issues are relatively new and did not occur when I first bought the product about 9 months ago.
1) When scanning documents from an HP scanner into Adobe on my Mac, the scanning works fine, but a multi-page document (scanned as one) is saved as a separate PDF for each page. Bothersome to then have to combine all those separate files into one doc. I can do it, just don't think I should have to take the time.
2) Occasionally, when working in Adobe, the menu bar at the top will disappear when I click on the Adobe icon or a previously saved PDF. Very frustrating. Can't make a note or save the document without knowing the shortcuts, as the menu has disappeared. Once I click somewhere outside Adobe, the menu bar reappears for the other programs. This happens over and over.
Any ideas?

Download problem with Acrobat XI Pro for MAC
I purchased Acrobat XI full for MAC download, but when I click download I keep getting plug-in failure. Using Safari, already tried downloading and installing the latest version of flash player and that did not help.

Problems Updating CS6 products on a Mac running 10.8.2
Is anyone else having problems updating their Adobe CS6 suite. When I go to Update, the Adobe Application Manager loads, goes through the process of downloading the Updates, takes ages (as they are large files) and then right at the end gives me an error message saying how the updates have failed.
I posted my original AE log in a thread I started, which remains unanswered, unless it has been in the last couple of hours.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled not only AE but my entire set of CS6 apps. I have run the 'cleaner' app, and with various cycles of uninstall, reinstall, update attempt, also used the downloadable installers for both the main AE 11.0.0 package and the downloaded update package for 11.0.2.
All fail.
The 'log analyzer' which is referred to in the 'error' logs, found in /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers as directed by the dialog from the App Manager, finds 'no error/problem'.
The packages that correctly install 'updates' are at the moment only Premiere Pro 6.0.0 to 6.0.2, and Audition 5.0.0 to 5.0.2.
Currently I just tried updating Speed Grade.. and after that log, is yesterday's failed AE update log.

Can't update Acrobat 8 Pro for Mac--unidentified developer error
I have 8.1.5. Running Mac OS 10.9.1. Downloaded the update to 8.3.1 and when I try to open the installer, I get the "unidentified developer" error message.
Do I have to go through the 20 or so serial updates or is there another solution?

As per the tech specs of Acrobat 8.0 it compatibility was only tested with Mac Os 10.4.3.
This version of Acrobat was even tested with 10.6 or above but there are lots user still using on various version of Mac Osx.
I would suggest to upgrade Acrobat to latest version. -

De repente no se me abre el programa, le doy y se queda abierto en el dock pero no sale ninguna pantalla ni nada. He probado actualizando a Mountain Lion y sigue igual y acabo de instalar la actualización a 9.5.2 pero hace lo mismo.

Quizas te resuelva el problema, a veces se trata de librerías que transcurrido un tiempo o en una fecha dejan de funcionar y provocan ese error, que he visto más en Acrobat X.

But when I try to update it (6.0) I get to the point when it says something like "insert disk 1 Adobe Acrobat" and is looking for an AcroPro.msi file.
I don't have this file - I have an exe file that installed Adobe Acrobat 6.0.
So what can I do to make get these updates to work? I'm sitting here with the disks for Adobe Creative Suite Premium and CANNOT update the darn Acrobat.
What do I need to to - I've searched all over the internet and these forums and can't find anything .
Please help!!I don't know about within CS. However, with older versions it is often best to download the updates from Adobe (the Download>Updates site) and do the updates locally. Also, you must do them in order, unless it says otherwise.

Error 2503 when updating Acrobat
I am attempting to update my Acrobat and i encounter "Error 2503 called RunScript when not marked in progress". I am operating in Windows 8 and do not know whether this is a function of the operating system. I had the same problem updating Acrobat Reader.
This is apparently a Windows issue (see http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_programs/error-2503 -called-runscript-when-not-marked-in/76e72d98-cbef-432f-8f6f-40417d139bc1). When doing updates you should be logged in as the adminstrator and have anti-virus disabled. It may also be an issue with AA9 on a Win 8 system, particularly if 64-bit. You may have to run AA9 in a compatibility mode. When updates fail from within Acrobat, it is time to try downloading the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and installing the updates in order (generally updates are not cummulative in Acrobat).

I am using a 2011 MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.9.5. Have been using Acrobat 10.1.10, but got a pop-up notice from Adobe today, saying that it had been awhile since last logged on and my software was due for an update. However, after downloading the update Acrobat 11, the updater seems to be unable to FIND the file to update, so it asks me to select the file to update. When I found it, the file icon was grayed out, and wouldn't allow me to select it. Gave me a message for "Error 1001". I'm an experienced Mac user, but not a programmer, so I don't know what that means. When I tried to run the installer from the downloaded file, it stopped, saying "Installation Failed" due to encountering an error—which was NOT named or numbered—and that I should contact the manufacturer for assistance. Which I am ATTEMPTING to do, but it appears to be impossible to actually get direct help.
Suggestions, or better yet, direct answers, would be appreciated.Did you ever figure out the problem? "Contact Software Manufacturer"?? That sounds ominous... I've got the same issue and I'm pretty durn aggravated right about now....

Problems Scanning with Acrobat XI Pro for Mac
I am running Acrobat 11.0.10 on a Mac computer (Yosemite 10.10.2). Ever since i have updated Acrobat, when i attempt to scan documents with my Epson Photo RX620 it won't scan.
When i try it without image correction, it tells me "an Error occurred while scanning". If I attempt to scan using manual image correction, it will scan the document, and when it gets to the end of the scan, it says scanning canceled.
Prior to the update, I was having no issues scanning with the same equipment. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I can't update acrobat 8 to 8.1, on Intel Mac. I says I need to reactivate plug-ins. Version 8 won't run Distiller.

I checked and fileVault has been off and I tried uninstalling. After reinstalling when I went to upgrade either it didn't do any good, gave me the message it couldn't upgrade because of some plug-in/ETC. or Acrobat was grayed out when I went to select it as the program location to upgrade.
I did find the blog, pasted below, but doing all this hasn't helped.
I will try again but I need to know, should I allow the autoupdaterer do the update or should I do it manually? Or any other suggestions you may be able to give me.

Distiller 8 problem with Intel Mac?

I just upgraded my desktop Mac in order to install CS3. I'm already running CS3 on a G4PB with no problems. Aside from the Intel/PPC difference, both computers have the same setups and files, both currently running OSX.4.11. (The new computer was set up by migrating setups from the old computer via firewire, then CS3 was installed.)
On the new computer, when I try to distill a file with Distiller 8, the file doesn't process (error message below). The same file processes OK with Distiller 7 on the new computer, also with Distiller 8 on the G4PB. The results are the same whether I'm using prebuilt or custom Distiller settings.
With Distiller 7:

OK - solved it (on my Mac at least)...
Firstly, what I think the problem is is that the 8.1.2 update do not mention the word English - I got onto this clue when I studied the installer log for 8.0 Professional - it showed that distiller was only installed to 8.1 - I was baffled and examined the files at length, then went through this...
1. Uninstall Adobe Acrobat Professional
2. Go to the Adobe site and download Bridge Start Meeting 1.0.1 (I believe the uninstaller crashes components in this and if you install without in firstly installed - the installer will ask you for the disk containing it).
3. Remember this is the install and fix for an APPLE MAC Intel mac...
4. Install Acrobat Professional 8.0 from your original CS3 DVD
5. Go to Adobe site and download Acrobat Professional Update 8.10 (file name should read AcroProUpd810_efgi.dmg, and I believe the efgi bit is English, French, German, Italian, and as it clearly mentions English I think I (and many like me) messed up by using the 8.1.2 update which doe NOT mention English and obviously does not update Distiller, in fact, I think and feel - it probably corrupts it...
I hope this helps those suffering like me (it took ages to work this one out), tied now - I need a beer....

Oops - sorry - the text from the 8.1.2 release...
"This multilingual update can be applied to Brazilian Portuguese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish, and Swedish versions of Acrobat 8 Professional. For more information, see the technical document describing the Acrobat 8.1.2 update in the Support Knowledgebase."
No mention of English - only Multiple Languages...

Where did you see that text at? The 8.1.2 is for English as well as 14 other languages. -
Just updated Acrobat on my Mac.
NOW tiny windows pop up telling me various sites/groups/people want to store info on my computer. They offer choices of "Allow" or "Deny". Naturally I just close the window w/out clicking on anything. Anyone know how to eliminate this problem? It's annoying.
