Problem updating photos in new ios7.0.2 for iphone 5

Hi
My iphone want update the photos that I had taken under the old operating system.  It keeps saying downloading.....even when I use a wifi connection.
Some of the photos I can see, but most of them are grey blank squares
Does anyone have a suggestion to get these photos to download please?
Thanks AA

What happens when you try? How are you initiating the upgrade?

The activation servers are probably overloaded with everyone trying to update to iOS 7 today.  You might need to wait and try again later.

  • How do I find a photo in new iOS7 photo app?

Can anybody help with the new Photo app on iOS7?
I have about 5000 photos taken around the world over the last fifty years. With the old Photo app, if I wanted to find a photo taken in (say) Argentina it was easy - just go to Places view, zoom to Argentina on the map, zoom to where I took the photo, and then click on a red pin. The map was a fabulous intuitive tool to easily find photos.
How do I do this now? The only way I have found is in "collections" where I have to try to remember what year I took the photo then squint through pages of minute thumbnails. I usually give up without finding the photo. Is there not an easier way?

I rang Apple support today about this issue. After a great deal of polite argument with a senior support person, Apple have agreed to exchange my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 for reconditioned replacements that still have OS6.1.3 on them, and so still have the Photo Map.
They accepted my argument that they should have warned in their own description of OS7 that Photo Map (and Wikipedia search on Spotlight) had been removed.
I am therefore off to the local Apple Store tomorrow to pick up the reconditioned items.

  • Problem updating photo library

I just upgraded my eMac to Leopard, and now am trying to upgrade it to iLife 08. It seems to go fine, but when I open iPhoto, it says it needs to "update photo library." I have about 9,000 photos. It runs for several hours, and the blue bar hits about 80% complete, and the screen says I have 44 minutes left, and it sticks there. For hours. Any suggestions on what I should do?
    Jeff KC

    Jeff
I am wondering if I should go in to my iPhoto Library and move most of the files to another location,
Under no circumstances should you do that - all that will achieve is corrupt your library.
Try Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
    Then try update that library.

  • After i updated to the new ios7 my ipad 3 stuck at the window with the terms. I push agree but it is not going on. Please help

After update to the new ios 7, during the restart my ipad 3 stuck at the window with the terms. I push agree but the window is still there. Please help. Thanks

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on anoterh computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I have a problem with syncing my calander with outlook 2007 for iPhone 5s, ipad 1st and 3rd generation. Contacts work find, and new and changed enteries in outlook all go to the devices. Device Cal changes do not appear in Outlook

Over the past year or so, I have been unable to fully sync my iPads with outlook 2007 calander. Now I have an iPhone 5s, and really need the calander fixed. Contacts seem to sync in both directions, and any new or changed cal enteries in outlook appear on the device. The problem is that any new or changed calander enteries do not make ip back to outlook 2007, so there is only one-way syncing (down to the device) but no return, for calander entries.
I am now using the latest itunes, which I followed the recommendation delete all apple stuff, and then reinstall, I have used scanpst, built new PSts, etc, am I am stuck.
    Not using icloud either.
Not using wi-fi, purely USB cabale sync
    Running on Windows XP, SP3
Now IOS 7.0.2 on iPhone and 1 iPad (3rd gen)

    Kept searching, found this: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23321067#23321067
Bottom line: if you follow the recommendation to delte all itunes software and re-install, it don't work (at least for me and many others).
However, purge the data (certain data) and the data syncs.
I think the folder is Apple Computer\Preferences and it needs to be purged.
To be sure, maybe someone can rename the folder on their system, then run itunes and see if it syncs ok.
The idea is to figure out the least minimum stuff that needs to be touched in order to get a working solution than having to purge all Apple software and then rebuild it all over again.
I had purged other files out of inpatience, but did not want to purge entire folders because I had Safari, and Quicktime software, and did not want to wipe that out, Plus there were software downloads and device backups in some of those folders. But I really believe it is the preferences folder, and I would like someone with the same problem to try it and verify it.
Once the preferences folder is removed/renamed (taken out of the picture) pluggin in the device and go to the INFO (I think that is the iTunes tab) page where you select calanders, contacts, email accounts, etc. They will all be unchecked (because you wiped out the preferences) and you need to reselect them. Then run your sync.
What I had done in testing was create something on the device, and modify something else on the device looking to see what got up to Outlook. I got the good news that something good was happening when I got the conflict message from iTunes, and it showed both Outlook and iPhone, showing the calander entry I changed on the iPhone. Never got that before. After the sync, everything looked good the few test entries were uploaded to outlook.
Now, My Cal is 10L+ enteries, and I am doing 100% sync (I don't select the option to ignore enteries over x days). I also have 1400+ contacts. Before this change, the sync of contacts & calanders took a couple of hours (and only operated ONE-WAY, now the syn is taking less than 5 minutes for this one step.
I am a Windows XP Professional user, x32 bit system, using Outlook 2007, iTunes 11.1.1.11, I am standalone (no exchange server) and have about 10 email accounts (mainly POP) defined. I am using only one calander in outlook, but I have Outlook and 2 gmail calanders in the iPhone.
I am running iPhone 5s and iPad 3rd Gen both with IOS 7.0.2 and a 1st generation iPad with the latest version of IOS 5.x.
If anyone else has success, I'd like to hear, along with your experience.

  • Help. new ios7 has made my iphone 4 a slug.Intermittent text and call usage, can't hang up from calls, dead screen, etc.  Mistake to upgrade.

Ever since I upgraded my iphone 4 to the new ios7, I have intermittent use of my texts...cannot send or receive.  I cannot hang up phone calls...the screen is black and I don't have an END button.  I have deleted nearly everything fome my phone, about 8 gb free at the moment on a 16 gb phone. Can anything be done.  I should have never done the upgrade and now I can't go back.  Help.

Tried this about 20 times already. Can send about two-three texts and then can't receive or send. Even tried a reset to factory...still crap.

  • The new pages on Dropbox for iPhone

I can not open the document with the new pages on Dropbox for iPhone

I'm having the same problem with my iPad. It seems to be only with the new Maverixks Pages.
You can use the old iWorks '09 Pages and it still works.
Hopefully there will be an update to Pages very soon.

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.

  • Problem with photos in new Photos application

The new photos shows one photo in thumbnail but a different photo when I click or enlarge the thumbnail.  Don't want to lose either!Problem

    There is a solution!!
After installing iOS4.0.1 update on my 3G, I too had the black
blob in my camera roll. As posted in an earlier thread, here's
one way to resolve this problem. It worked for me!
Just email the photos that don't appear in the camera roll to myself,
delete the offending photos and then re-save them from the email.
A bit of a pain but it's a way around it. Good luck!

  • How to make Apple TV update photos as new photos are entered into CPU?

Here's my situation -- we are having a Halloween Party this Saturday and I wanted to be able to have people sit in front of my computer and take a picture of themselves with Photo Booth. They would then drag their picture into an album (I don't care if it's MobileMe Gallery, Album, etc.). A slideshow will be going in the other room from that folder via the Apple TV. The problem is getting that slideshow to update occasionally with the new pictures as they are dropped into the folder.
Any ideas other than having to back out to the main menu each time and restarting the slide show???

you also might want to refrain from calling people "nerds". you might use it in a comical manner, but not everyone might see it that way.

  • Problems updating photos

I posted about this a while ago, and left it for a while, thinking I'd come back to it with a fresh head.
This basically used to be so straightforward.
You know how long your photo slideshow is, so time each photo accordingly to fit the music. But usually when you get to the end it's not quite right, so you just update some of the photos until it fits.
Now it doesn't seem to want to re-render the photos when you update - they just resize, which looks OK, until you play it back, and there are remnants of the original underneath somewhere, and it jumps around horribly.
The only thing that came up before was something about there being an issue if the trash had been emptied. But I've tried it again with a new project, so no emptying of the trash. In fact I notice now that just adding a photo to the timeline creates something in the trash. (anound 120k worth) - so not sure what's going on at all.
Is anyone else having similar problems? If so, know of any workarounds? (although I thought the whole mac thing was that it just works, so shouldn't need workarounds....)
Might a re-install help? In which case how do you actually uninstall one part of iLife? Just drag it from applications to the trash?
    Iain

Is the project saved on an external drive? Have you ruled out drive issues and software plug-in issues, like these?
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1852869#1852869
Yes, there is a bug in iMovie 6 that affects the re-rendering of photos imported with the Ken Burns checkbox ON (in Photo Settings). But if you haven't emptied the iMovie trash that's probably not the cause.
In fact I notice now that just adding a photo to the timeline creates
something in the trash. (anound 120k worth) - so not sure what's going on
    at all.
That's iMovie's copy of the imported image that iMovie 6 places in the Media folder. It's stored in the Media folder so you can re-render the image later. iMovie should NOT be putting it in the trash. That's the bug. Note it doesn't go there if the photo is imported with the KB checkbox is OFF.
If you can't solve the re-rendering problem, try re-importing the image used at the end, this time importing with the KB checkbox OFF. That should let you change its duration successfully later. After everything plays as you want you can select the still image clip and Update it to a rendered clip by turning on the KB checkbox. (That's optional, but it avoids the other iMovie bug that adds jaggies to some images when you send it to iDVD.)
