Problem updating spam/saint

Hi all,
While updating spam/saint i m getting following error.
- Error in step: CHECK_REQUIREMENTS
- Reason for error: TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM
- Return code: 0212
Any idea how to resolve this. This system is connected to another system in tms , the latter being domain controller. The tp versions in these 2 sys are diff. Can this be the prob..
Any suggestion?
Thanks,
Ajith

Hi,
You didn't say what system you using ? Anyway, go into SM59 and find the RFC connections used for TMS(usually two) under ABAP  connections, try do a connection test, is it successful ? ..if not check technical settings are correct.
See note 96907 for further troubleshooting.

  • NW70 EHP1 Update Problem w/SPAM/SAINT

    Hello,
We have followed the guide for NW 7.0 EHP to update our system from NW 7.0 SPS18.  The kernel update appears to be successful, and system -> status tells us that we are on the 701 kernel.
However, we are having trouble in SPAM/SAINT.  We've downloaded the latest 701/34 kernel and attempted to update spam, but once the update completes and we restart spam, it is still at 700/34 (not 701/34).
Furthermore, we are able to load the 701 support packs from EPS/in, however, they never appear in SPAM or SAINT, and therefore they cannot be added to a queue and applied to the system.  SAINT complains that the components are "701" and basically are not appropriate to install in a "700" system.
Obviously we are missing something here in the update process.  What does it take to get SAINT/SPAM to recognize the 701 support packs?  We've read through many docs and notes and have had no success.
    Thank you.

Thanks for your help so far.

    Hi
I have tried three times. In fact I also restarted SAP System by changing rdisp/max_wp_runtime to 0 as there were lot of short dumps with timeouts.
I notice that currently job RDDGEN0L is running at present.
    Also,
    1) Dialogue work process running Report SAPMS38L with action Delete on Table D0101NC (User DDIC).
    2) BGD Work process Status “On Hold” Reasn “RFC” with report SAPLSDDD (User DDIC).

  • Updating spam/saint manager

I have a freshly installed SAP ERP 6 system.
    1. I can see that most components are on 600 and NW components on 701 release. When I navigate to transaction SPAM, the menu says Support Package Manager version 7.01 / 0033.
However, when I goto the OCS package directory, it shows SAPKD70029 and SAPKD70033.
Should the files not be SAPKD701** as its version 7.01 listed in menu bar ?
    2. What is the latest level I can update it to ? Should it be SAPKD70043 or SAPKD70143
    3. For downloading the latest package, from sap software download center, how do I know which of the following should I go for ?
    SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 620
    SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 640
    SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 700
    SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 701
    SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 702
    SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 710
    SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 711
    SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 720
    SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 730
    SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 800
If its just spam version, why dont we go for SPAM/SAINT Update 800 ?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
As I can see, you have installed EHP4 ready system whose netweaver version is 7.01. So, you should install SPAM update of 701 release i.e. SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 701.
SPAM updated of other release will not work because you need to install SPAM update based on netweaver release.
    Thanks
    Sunny

  • Update SPAM/SAINT

    Dear all,
I have 3 SAP servers:prd、dev、qas(new),i want to update the qas's SPAM/SAINT,prd&dev's version is the same as 700/0020、700/0021、700/0024,but i can't find these packages at SAP site now, there are only 0038/0039 packages,if i don't update all 3 servers to 0038/0039,i just want to update to 0020/0021/0024,how should i do?
BTW:i am new about SAP basis, can you tell me how to install SPAM/SAINT?
    Thank you in advance.

    Dear Damon,
Before upgrading the support packages, you need to update the spam in the particular server.
log into the server via 000 client --> Run transaction spam / click on support packages and click on import spam/saint upgrade.
The system will automatically get upgraded to the latest spam version.
Coming to the support packages you need to decide which support packages you need to install in all the Dev/Qa/PRD server.
start applying support packages from dev server download it one server and start applying from one server to the other server.
    Regards
    Nizam

    Notes on phase DDIC_ACTIVATION
In this phase the system activates the imported Data Dictionary objects.
This phase may terminate for several reasons:
o   TP_INTERFACE_FAILURE: The system was unable to call the tp
