Problem updating to iOS 4.3.2

I have an iPod Touch 4g and every time I go to update it to iOS 4.3.2, it stops about 25% into the installation and then says that I have an error.
Error:
All downloads and file copies have been paused. The disk you are attempting to use is full.
Removing files and emptying the Recycle Bin will free up additional space.
After I click okay, another message pops up saying:
There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "aliSAURUS". The disk you are attempting to use is full.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later.
When I click on the Downloads tab, the progress bar is replaced with "zero KB of 650.3 MB - stopped (err= -34)"
I don't know what 'disk' is being talked about and what I should do. I didn't know if moving where files are held would help, so I changed my preference of it being held in folder into a new one so it was completely empty.
Oh, and disregard my iPod's name.

Many thanks - did as you suggested and it installed OK. I use Kaspersky internet security and have never had this problem before.
Thanks again.

Anybody still having problems updating to ios 5?

I have had no success in updating my Verizon 32GB i Phone 4 with ios5.  Every time I go thru the update software process I get an error message 3104.  I follow the thread and it has me re-load i Tunes.  I have done this and still get the error 3194 and will not let me install ios 5.  I have a Dell 64 Bit processor running Windows 7 (64).  Very dissipointed, this is the first glitch I have had after converting to Apple.  Also having the same problem with iPAD2 update for ios5.  So this may point to a problem with i Tunes.
I have gone to Google and looked up the problem and there appear to be several fixes such as add a line of language to the i Tumes software or remove a line.  This is a little too much for a mear mortal like me to be fooling around with re-writing software language.
Frustration level - High.  Dissipointment level - Higher.
    Thanks for the venue...

  • HT4528 Problem updating to IOS 7 - phone locks up

My iPhone has locked up in the middle of updating to IOS 7.  Screen will only show the iTunes icon with the white USB cable image and the white arrow pointing to the iTunes icon.  If I try to turn off the phone, it appears to shut off but will bring the same image back up when it connects to iTunes or I try to turn it on.  HELP!!  I'm flying to a conference in the morning and need my phone!!
    Thanks!

The "unavailable" message most likely has nothing to do with the setup on your end. The servers are crazy busy right now (everyone and their brother seems to be updating right at release), so it could just be that it's having problems establishing a connection. May want to try it again later tonight or tomorrow.

  • Problem updating to iOS 5.1

I decided to update my itouch which is currently in 4.3.3 version software. I am always having this message! "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "iPod". The network connection could not be estalished." Everything on my ipod is fine especially after I restored it through iTunes a while back. Wifi and everything works normally. I updated my iTunes to 10.1 version thinking it would help, but it isnt. Please help.

    - To update to iOS 5 you need iTunes 10.5 or laetr.  The current version is 10.6.
    - Try disabling your computer's security software during hte download and update. However, here may be an Apple server problem.

  • Having problems updating to iOS 5 for iPod Touch.

I own an iPod touch 32GB, 3rd generation. I have version 4.3.5 at the moment. When I plug my iPod into my computer and try to update it to 5.0.1 (iOS 5) a message comes up that says "Updating to iOS 5.0.1 will delete all of the media, including iTunes store purchases, on your iPod Touch. To preserve your content, apply this update on the computer where you sync music, videos and photos."  I have never used another computer for my iPod. When iOS 5 first came out I was able to update my iPone 4 perfectly with out any problems. Is anyone else having/had this problem or getting/got this message?

If you had been using this computer for syncing, the music should still be present in iTunes:
Connect your iPod to the computer either via cable or wireless and check the iTunes settings.  Finally, do a sync.

  • I'm using a 2007 MacBook Pro and having a problem updating to IOS 6. Is this possible on my device or is my computer too outdated for the IOS 6 update?

I aquired my used MacBook Pro when entering college three years ago. When the IOS 7 iphone update came out yesterday I updated my iphone. After the update I attempted to sync my iphone to itunes on my MacBook Pro. When attempting to do this I recieved a pop-up that stated I would not be able to sync my iphone with IOS 7 to itunes until I downloaded itunes version 11.
I then visited the itunes site to download this version of itunes. When attempting the update, I recived a pop-up that stated I was unable to download this version of itunes because my MacBook Pro does not have IOS 6 installed.
I am not sure how to install IOS 6 or if my computer is able to update to IOS 6 since it was made in 2007. I occasionally have difficulties updating other programs because my computer is outdated and I was wondering if IOS 6 is the same.
    Thanks for your help.

It sounds like it is not allowing you to install the newest version of iTunes because you do not have OSX 10.6.8 installed. Click on the  -> About This Mac and check the version number. If it is anything less than 10.6 you need to purchase Snow Leopard from Apple.

  • Problems updating to iOS 5

I have a 3G ipod touch that I want to update to iOS 5. However, when I select 'update' on itunes (on my laptop w/my ipod synced) I receive a message along the lines of 'the certificate of this server is invalid and might be pretending to be ax.itunes.apple.com, which could put confidential information at risk'. What should I do in response to this? I've already reset my ipod, the date and time are fine, and my connection is solid.

Is the date, time and time zone correct on your computer?

  • "The iPhone software update server could not be contacted" - problem updating to iOS 6

    Hi all,
I'm a little behind the times, but I'm trying to update my iPhone 3G from 4.2 to 6. Unfortunately, whenever I try, I get a message that "The iPhone software update server could not be contacted".
I've looked around for a fix - including one that asked me to check my "Automatically detect LAN settings" - but that was of no use. I should point out that my phone is not jailbroken and that I am connected to the internet via USB dongle. I have temporarily disabled AVG as well.
Does anyone know what's causing this issue and how I can be rid of it?
    Thanks very much in advance.

An iPhone 3G cannot be updated beyond iOS 4.2.1...that's the end of the line for your phone.

  • Problems updating from iOS 6.1.3.to iOS 7.0.3.

Hi everyone. Norwegian iPad-user in need of assistance. I haven't bothered to update my iPad untill now. I'm running iOS 6.1.3 now, and todays update obviously is iOS 7.0.3. But, when I start the process with updating I get to the part where I agree on the Terms & Conditions, clicks accept and then it starts verifying the update. After a short while I get the message; Unable to verify the update. The verification was unsuccessful for iOS 7.0.3 since you no longer are connected to the internet. (This is translated from Norwegian, the proper English message might differ...) Anyway, this is not correct. I am at a truly stable and fast internet connection here at work, so something else must be the problem.
    Help!!!

You can connect the iPad to your computer and download/install the update.

  • HT4623 Problems Updating My iOS!

I've just sync'ed my Iphone 4 and it said that newer versions of Itunes / QuickTime were available.  I updated these.
When my phone was connected it the itunes told me a newer version of iOS 6.0.1 was available for my phone did i want to download and install.
I ok'd it and itunes backed up my phone and then downloaded the iOS.  My phone was then in recovery mode - itunes wanted me to restore my phone so it would work with itunes.  When I look at the progress of update and restore it completes but my phone is left in recovery mode and I can not get it out of this state which means I can not reinstall my backed up data and essentially I'm left with a VERY EXPENSIVE paperweight!
The phone was purchased originally from Apple factory setting unlocked.
    Any assistance gratefully recieved

What model iPad and what iOS are you currently running?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
