I have similar problem, my apple tv which has always worked properly with my Samsung tv will no longer play any audio after the latest 5.1 upgrade. Very frustrating as it was working perfectly before. I am starting to not trust apple upgrades until proven for example ios6 on iPhone with that stupid map app instead of google maps.
I just want to buy and hear my iTunes music and videos on my apple tv, could before cant now. Thank you apple. Time to pack up the apple tv and start torrenting without the ios-bs.
    Disheartened apple fan.

Welcome to the  discussion forums.
Try going to synching in the sources menu on your tv and selecting 'change itunes library', when it gives you the passcode check itunes to see if the tv is showing up as a new device, if so try entering the pass code. It may be that your tv is seeing itunes as a different library because of a recent upgrade.

  • Problem Upgrading to Apex 3.1 on XE

I am running into a problem upgrading Apex to 3.1 on Oracle XE.
    Hardware and Software:
Database: Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0
    PL/SQL Web Toolkit Version: 10.1.2.0.4
Host O/S: MS Windows XP Professional Version 2002 SP2
Host Hardware: AMD Athlon 64 Processor, 2.2 GHz, 1.87 GB RAM
    Background:
This is a lab host. I am working through the full installation process so that I can set up XE and Apex on development and production hosts, the end in mind being to develop a simple application using XE/Apex instead of Access 2003, which is used heavily in this shop.
It seems to me that upgrading to Apex 3.1 would be a good thing to do up front instead of developing in the version which ships with XE (2.1, I believe) and performing the upgrade later.
I installed XE going with full defaults. Nothing at all tricky. I was able to connect to http://localhost:8080/apex without any trouble and log in as system.
I then followed these Apex upgrade instructions, very carefully:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/3.1_and_xe.html
After I ran into trouble (see below), I reviewed this post and used it to double-check my work:
How to upgrade to Apex 3.1
I have worked through this a number of times, each time ending up with the same error.
    The Problem...
After the upgrade, when I navigate to http://localhost:8080/apex, I receive the following error:
    wwv_flow.app_not_found_footer_err
    wwv_flow.err wwv_flow.app_not_found_err
    OK
I reviewed this posting, which suggests that I upgrade my PL/SQL Web Toolkit:
apex 3.0 error wwv_flow.app_not_found_footer_err after new installation
I am perfectly willing to try this, but I am not sure how to obtain the latest correct version of the web toolkit for this particular version of the database. Any tips on where I might find this?
I also note that the posting says there should be 10 SQL files in the apex/builder directory. I only have 5, but I just downloaded this zip file a few days ago and assume this is the correct number of files. If it isn't, where could I find the correct zip?
Any other suggestions about the root cause of this issue would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Well, like Sherlock Holmes said, "when you have elminated the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." Or, something like that.
Thanks Joel, it was the files. I examined the zip file I originally downloaded and, sure enough, there were 10 files. I extracted it again and, for some reason, this time it only pulled one of the SQL files out, not even five as it did the first time. In addition, it also skipped about half the language folders.
To get it work, I used the windows built-in zip to open the file, navigated to the apex/builder folder, selected all of the SQL files and language folders, then copied and pasted them into c:\apex\builder.
I then restored the database, ran the install again, and everything worked just fine: I can access http://localhost:8080/apex/apex_admin and log in.
I'm not sure what the issue is, a problem with the zip file or (ok, more likely) a problem with the built-in windows zip tool. I used 7-zip (www.7-zip.org) to extract the file on my workstation and all 10 files and 9 language folders came out just fine.
The bottom line is, it works now, thanks again for the help.
    -Tom
PS - I did not install the web toolkit upgrade.

  • Problems upgrading from 10.2.8 to 10.3.9

I'm having trouble upgrading from 10.2.8 to 10.3.9.. The first install CD won't boot, I get a grey screen and no "blue OS X sign" it just stays grey.. And here is briefly the history of what happened to get me to this point..
This problem is on an iMac (summer 2000, the one with a slot loader). We (my wife's Mac) got it used and it was running OS 9.0.4 (She) wanted to run 10 and picked up 10.1 on ebay and installed it.. No problems there as 10.1 came with a boatload of system CDs including Classic 9.2.2.
Then, after awhile and seeing 10.1 was too old for various software on peripherial devices.. I had some Jag 10.2 CDs lying around and we installed that and did a 10.2.8 upgrade.. Now it's time to install 10.3.9 and when it wouldn't install, a friend told us it was a firmware update problem.. Okay I went to the firmware update page for this iMac model and read the instructions.. But one caveat was in order to install a firmware update on an iMac which came with OS 9.0.4 at least 9.1 has to be installed to complete the update.
Here's the tricky part , and it may sound really weird, but please bare with me; my wife had originally partitioned the 10GB HDD into 3 partitions and 9.2.2 was on one of them.. Sofar so good. I installed 10.2 and then an upgrade to 10.2.8. Then recently she told me that she had DELETED 9.2.2 and intended to install 10.3 on that partition and run 10.2 on the other one.... so she repartitioned the HD into 2 partitions.. with 10.2 on disk 1 and leaving disk 2 completely empty.. So, whew, when we tried to upgrade to 10.3 and nothing happened I thought this may be the cause of the problem.. A missing system.
I tried in vain to reinstall 9 from the original CDs (by holding down the "C" key) and when I tried to install it the finder coudn't find a volume to install it on. All there was on the screen was the CD icon..
Maybe I should've done the firmware upgrade before we installed 10.1.. But I didn't know I had to.. So, in anycase, it's now next to impossible to GO BACK to the starting line and reinstall 9.0.4 and do a reworking of the upgrades to 9.1 and 9.2 so I can properly do the firmware update and finally go the distance and install 10.3.9!
Is everyone confused yet? If not any helpful advice to get me out of this mess would be helpful.
    Rob

cornellius your post was *Very Helpful.
    I have the installation CDs for 9.0.4, 9.2.2, 10.1 and 10.2..
I booted from the 9 CD and went to Disk Set Up and "initialised" the HD which placed a HD icon on the desktop. That resulted in a restoration of 9.0.4.. But I can't download the update, my DSL modem won't work with OS 9 minimum is 10.2. A little thing I forgot. Then I installed 9.2 since you can only do online firmware updates from 9.1 or higher.. I assume higher means 9.2.2.
I read on this support's firmware update page that if you boot from OS X (10.1 or 10.2?) and go to the menu and Disk Utilities on the installer CD you can get firmware updates there.. I booted from 10.1 and could not see how to do that. But, as you suggested, I can "Erase Disk" and "Install OS 9 Drivers," i.e., "Classic" (check box) and go from there.. I can do this with 10.2 as well.. Same procedure same result.. 10.2 will be installed with 9.2.2 running in the background.
But whether the firmware updates happen I'm not sure. As I stated above, this iMac had gone through two OS X upgrades, 10.1 then 10.2 and as I said somehow the Classic partition, 9.2.2, was deleted making it impossible to start up from OS 9. But I know once Classic is reinstalled with 10.2, I can do the firmware update.. and eventually install Panther.. Panther is a minimum requirement for iSale and, increasingly, other Mac software and the wife bought iSale to organize her ebay auctions.. so Panther it is.
Well this sounds like a hurry and wait or wake up and go to sleep situation.. Larry, Moe and Curly couldn't do a better job than I'm doing..
    Thanks for your help,
    Rob

  • Problems upgrading from OS 8.1 to OS 9.2.2

Thank you for any help you can give me.
I have some additional problems upgrading from OS 8.1 to OS 9.2.2.
    1. The keyboard is typing symbols, not normal letters. When I go to Key Caps it shows symbols and not normal letters. When I was running OS 8.1 the keyboard typed fine.
    2. I also am have trouble with windows closing as I open new windows. Everytime I click to open a new folder the old folder closes.
    3. Copying files. When I drag a file it makes a new copy on the desktop.
How did I goof up going from OS 8.1 directly to OS 9.2.2?
All these problems were fine while running under OS 8.1.
I believe this computer came with OS.8.6 installed on it but I got it with OS 8.1.
Any help you can pass on to me would be greatly appreciated.
I am typing this on my Dell PC.
    Thanks a million,
    Jim
    iMac G3 333   Mac OS 9.2.x

Easy, I just insert my OS 8.1 System Software into the tray loading CD and choose it as the start up disk in the control panel. I restart the computer and it is running off of OS 8.1 instead on OS 9.2.2. I looked for another keyboard today at a used computer store but they didn't have one for the iMac. I need to find one as all my research indicates that it is somehow connected to the option key. But then again everything works fine under OS 8.1. Quite a puzzle to me. Again thanks for the page tip on Firmware. Jim - PS, I did pick up a zip drive that connects to USB ports.

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

Ok. Thanks for your help, but removing that package was not the solution because I hadn't installed it. The only reference I had about that package was
    5:13# locate linux-uvc-svn                                                                                                               ~koven

    /var/lib/pacman/local/linux-uvc-svn-238-1/depends
    /var/lib/pacman/local/linux-uvc-svn-238-1/desc
    /var/lib/pacman/local/linux-uvc-svn-238-1/files
    /var/lib/pacman/local/linux-uvc-svn-238-1/install
So I decided to remove this folder and my problem was solved. Anyway I did some searches and nothing was found.

It seems that the update scripts got problems because we had used portalAdmin to add new data content types. The update scripts try to add new types too, but use hardcoded primary keys that will already be in use if new data content types are added by the administrator.

    6) type pf test (with standard program....custom, manual)
    6) type of resolution ( with notes, SP...)
8 point for every interesting answer.
    Thank you,
    Claudio

    Hi,
First and foremost you need to understand that when you upgrade from a BW 3.x ver to 04s (BI 7) , there's a lot of changes as the 04s upgrade brings in a lot of changes. First and foremost you need to deal with the Java component. There's going be changes to your ODS, rules, etc.
So the recommended path is first do a technical upgrade and then convert to the functional upgrade in parts.
You also need to look at impacts to any third party tools like ETL, crystal, etc during the upgrade.
There's significant changes to the Security too.
For testing first start from your lab env (if any) mostly for looking to see what problems you'll encounter during the actual upgrade itself.
Then move onto a sandbox client and do thorough baseline testing before the upgrade.
You'll have to test all functionalites, security, reporting, customizations , basically everything under the sun and you might still miss something.
Once the upgrade is done, you have to do post upgrade testing against the baseline logs. Its here that you'll come across and catch errors. Mostly they'll have corrections for these through OSS notes. Its recommended you use Solution Manager for this upgrade as well.
If you don't find any solutions through OSS then you need to create a message for SAP again through OSS.
Before you begin though go through all the release notes and features that 04S brings with it to understand how and where the impacts will be to your system.
    Cheers,
    Kedar

  • Will i have problem upgrading from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to Maverick ?

will i have problem upgrading from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to Maverick ?

Impossible to know. But I would make a backup before doing so, just in case. I would also do the following:
If you wish to save yourself a lot time should you need to reinstall Mavericks at some point in the future then see the following:
Make Your Own Mavericks, Mountain/Lion Installer
After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
       2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
Make your own Mavericks flash drive installer using the Mavericks tool:
You can also create a Mavericks flash drive installer via the Terminal. Mavericks has its own built-in installer maker you use via the Terminal:
You will need a freshly partitioned and formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GBs. Leave the name of the flash drive at the system default, "Untitled." Do not change this name. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Copy this entire command line after the prompt in the Terminal's window:
         sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume
         /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed to the screen so be careful to enter it correctly. Press RETURN, again.
Wait for the process to complete which will take quite some time. When completed it would be wise to test the installer by checking that it boots the computer and is then ready for installation.

  • Problems Upgrading... but do I need to anyway?

    Hi--
I am trying to organize my music library better so that I can delete duplicates (I have 3TB of music) and get the files more organized.  I am trying to sync up my house so that music can play via any Apple product (Apple TV, other Macs, iPhones, etc).  I heard of a program called Sonora that supposidely works wonders for this, but it says I need the latest version of OSX in order to use it.  So there begins my problem.
I keep getting messages on my MBP with Snow Leopard (10.6.8) that I need to upgrade to Yosemite.  I am trying to download a better music player/organizer than iTunes.  When I go here, I click on the link to upgrade and nothing happens.  When I do it in Safari, I get a message that says:
So the basic question is, should I upgrade and if so, how do I get around this?  Or, is there a better/another way to do what I need done without having to worry about all these upgrade issues.
Thank you in advance, oh wise Mac users!
    BMC757

I use an older computer than you but I believe the thing that should open is not Safari but a specific App for giving you access to the Mac App Store.  Definitely read all the information before blindly upgrading, particularly if you have not upgraded RAM on your computer.  You may well find that a 6 year old or older computer is not all that happy running Yosemite.  It possibly can but it might be slow and I personally wouldn't do it unless I had to.
As for Sonora, You are better off asking on whatever support forum they have.  Asking here is like going to a room full of Toyota mechanics and asking about mechanical issues with a Ford.  Somebody may know the answer but it is not the first place you go for help with that particular app (of which I have never even heard).

HP is providing upgrade instructions and drivers will be available for most Windows 7 systems sold after 1st October 2011.
If you want to restore the original operating system after upgrading, you must create HP recovery media before you upgrade.
Please note that if you purchased your system prior to October 1, 2011, HP has not tested these PCs or developed Windows 8 upgrade instructions or drivers for them. Upgrading such systems may be difficult or impossible.

I did a "clean" install of Windows 8 on my HP TouchSmart 320-1120m CTO Desktop Computer and had NO issues at all. If you do an actual "upgrade", please be aware that much of the HP value-added software that came with the computer will have to be uninstalled before doing the upgrade. You may also run into other minor issues with other software already on the computer. The only way to go back to Windows 7, is to use the HP Recovery Discs you should have already created. If you haven't yet created these discs, do so BEFORE upgrading to Windows 8.

  • Problem upgrading 9iR2 to 10gR1 with DBUA tool

Hi, I'm upgrading 9iR2 database to 10gR1 in automatic mode with DBUA tool in Linux.
The process appear like hang in the 85% when trying to "Upgrading Oracle Data Mining".
I already check the trace.log file. The last information in that file is:

    Any idea?
    Thanks!

What problem? Did you believe we know what you are doing?
What is the platform and operating system?
What is your starting version (10gR2 is not a version)?
    What is your ending version?
What alarm sign? Where? What does it say?
At what point in the process?
What is in the log file?
How did you expect us to know this stuff when you didn't post it?
