Problem Uploading from Acrobat 9 Standard

My documents uploaded from Acrobat 9 Standard to Adobe .com "upload" (it authenticates me and then the uploading dialog box comes up and then tells me it was sent successfully, and asks me if I want to view the uploaded file). When I go to my workspace, however,  the documents do not show up in my workspace. Any ideas. Win xP sp 3
My adobe ID and my workspace ID are the same
I can go into my workspace at adobe.com and use the workspaces menu to upload a file from  my computer, but the if I try and do it from within the Acrobat 9 application using their "Upload Documents to Acrobat.com" button on the tool bar , it doesn't seem to show up.

I am SOOOO Sorry. OK. I see that it adds the files to the "All Files" main category. I was jumping too soon and was looking right in the shared workspaces, completely blowing by the "All Files" up there at the top.

Never mind. I found it by hunt and peck. I like Pro 9 better. It was straight forward. This is not.

  • Problem updating from Acrobat X Standard to Pro

I upgraded from the Acrobat Standard X to the Pro, and this is what I did. First I deactivate the Standard and then uninstalled it. Next I installed the Pro, linked the serial numbers as prompted, and then tried to run the program. What I have is the Standard all over again only it says Pro. I have to have the preflight feature in my line of work. On this version, there is no Advance pull down window across the top or a document or forms tab. I am familiar with Pro 9, but X is not at all like the old Pro 9 I have used for years. What went wrong?

  • Install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from Acrobat 9 Standard

I attempted to do an upgrade from Acrobat 9 Standard to Pro Extended having purchased the software from a sales rep who said I could do this as did technical support.
My system is XP Pro/SP2 32-bit.
During the install I ran into this problem. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/401/kb401731.html. Being stupid I continued on
instead of stopping. Once I got to the section that I am asked to input the Pro Extended serial number and then my STandard serial number I ran into further problems. The dropp down menu asked for which current version of Acrobat, which of course for me was 9 Standard.
The problem was the drop down menu has no option for Standar only Professional.
Since the sales rep had told me I could upgrade I hadn't read the label on the Extended Pro box, which says it's only an upgrade for Professional If I had called in at that time I would have resolved that issue, but not the missing DLL.
I then found out I couldn't uninstall the mess so I did another stupid thing and did a system restore, which just compounded the problem. To make a longer story shorter I downloaded MS Windows Cleanup Utility and removed  Acrobat.com and Acrobat 9 STandard. I then downloaded WinCS4Cleanupscript and unzipped and ran it. So far so good.
Then I was advised to install Pro Extended as a trial and customer support would take care of the license issue. Ok, again so far so good.
I then attemped to install Pro Extended as trial and ran into a printer problem similar to what I had
encountered before, but not exactly the same.
"Setup can not copy file PSCRPTFE.NTF" and issues about printers not being Windows logo compliant I believe it was.
(I have a new wireless Brother HL-2170W laser and Canon MP830 inkjet and just updated the driver and firmware...maybe that will load the missing driver)
A this point the installation was terminated and I was advised to follow Adobe TechNote KB403613. The only item that I could possiblity help with this printer problem is the Hotfix kb-930627, but this is for a 64-bit system not 32? Do I download or not?
I also just found out that I still have some vestige of Pro Extended on my system though the MS Cleanup Utility doesn't list anything. Do I run WinCS4Cleanupscript again?
    a) How do I fix the PSCRPTFE.NTF issue with my printer(s)
    b) Do I download a 64-bit hotfix kb-930627to my 32-bit system...and will that solve the printer problem?
    c) Do I just ignore what's left of Pro Extended on my system or run Winc cs4Cleanupscript again. I can't run it directly from all programs, but if I click
on Acrobat 9 Standard under start it opens up or at least that's how it's identified.
    d) Anything else?

I might as well update my own question:
I followed the instructions given in the Adobe TechNote kb403613 after running WINCS4Cleanupscript.
However, I did NOT download the hotfix as that's for a 64-bit system. The phrasing of the hotfix wasn't very
clear to me, but I don't think when it stated XP Home or Professional meant a 32-bit system rather only 64-bit.
If anyone knows better let me know. I checked out that specific hotfix and said was for 64-bit OS.
    1) Created a new user account with Admin rights
    2)  I did the "intermediate troubleshooting" listed in kb403613 and found a few files to delete and I also ran the disk defragmenter.
Might as well catch any problems up front instead of waiting.
    3) There were several directories on the DVD but only copied Acrobat 9 Pro Extended to my desktop in the new user account.
    4) Ran msconfig and disabled all programs under the start up tab. Once you click OK a small window pops up
and you press restart. Remember to write down any programs listed in startup that are not enabled so you
can deselect those when you enable the startup menu again.
    5) On restart and booting up press F8 to get the start up options and select VGA mode.
    7) Once you in Windows log back into the account you created to just install Acrobat
    8) Open Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on your desk top and run the installer
    Desktop>Acrobat 9 Pro Extended>Acrobat9>Acro3D
    9) Run the install. In my case I selected trial version.
    10) I still ran into a problem with Windows Logo compatiblity issues with  my printers.
I could either continue or stop the installation, which I did to attempt to determine just what's
    causing that problem.
    11) there was some auto backout of files, but I still had to run MS Cleanup Utility again and remove Acrobat 9 Pro Extended.
Also ran WINCS4Cleanupscript though nothing there.
    12) I then did a restart and booted into normal Windows mode from VGA mode.
    13) Logged into my account and ran msconfig to enabled my startup menu and then deselected the ones I didn't want.
OK, I am back to square one. I checked the Windows Logo Product List and found my Brother HL-2170W is
XP, VISTA and W7 Windows Logo certified.
I checked my other printer a Canon Pixma MP830...well not so good. It's logo certified under Vista and W7, but not XP.
I had downloaded the lastest driver and firmware, but that didn't seem to help. I did email Canon. Now these printers had
no problems when I was running under Acrobat 9 Standard.
Right now my only option appears to be to just run the install and continue on when I get to the printer issue. Still don't know what
will happen when I get to the serial numbers. I am suppose to call support and they will fix activation. So I am told...

  • Why can't I email a pdf file from Acrobat XI Standard?

Whenever I try to email a pdf file from Acrobat XI Standard, nothing happens. Outlook 2007 is my default
email program. I have checked the preferences to be sure that Outlook is checked as default, and it is,
but when I click on the email icon or select email from the dropdown menu, nothing happens. This is
so frustrating. I hope someone can help me solve this problem.

Be sure that MAPI is properly active in your Outlook. I am not an Outlook user, but that is what is needed.

  • Can i roll back to Acrobat 9 Standard from Acrobat X Standard?

Can i roll back to Acrobat 9 Standard from Acrobat X Standard?  I bought Acrobat X license and want to roll back to 9.
    Thanks in advance.

Do you have the Acrobat 9 Standard media?
Do you have an Acrobat 9 Standard serial number?
    If not, then that's a non-starter.
You'll need to talk to Adobe provided that is who you actually purchased the software and not a reseller.
If yes, then it is a matter of removing Acrobat X first
    Rebooting the machines
    Then reinstalling Acrobat 9 Standard.

  • Can I upgrade from Acrobat XI Standard to Pro?

Can I upgrade from Acrobat XI Standard to Pro?

As I indicated, the store gives an upgrade from Std to Pro, though I think the price is not appropriate. If you go to the basic page for Acrobat, they are no pushing the subscription version. If you do to the buying guide you get the regular version option (http://www.adobe.com/content/dotcom/en/products/acrobatpro/buying-guide.html). The upgrade is $199, which I think is crazy. Something like $70 is more appropriate, the difference in cost between Std and Pro upgrades, or at least $150 for the difference of the full products. If the Std had been an upgrade, the cost of a full upgrade is not reasonable. Anyway, a screen capture of the cost is below:
So apparently the guys on the chat have no clue what they are talking about. However, that does not surprise me. What bothers me is some of the unreasonable pricing as I see it in the store.

  • Installing upgrade from Acrobat XI Standard to Acrobat Xi Pro

I am trying to install an upgrade from Acrobat 11 Standard to Acrobat 11 Pro.  I have purchased and upgrade license.  When I try to install the Pro upgrade, I get a message that a product with higher functions is already installed and it terminates the install.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would recommend you uninstall Std, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove any left over Acrobat folder parts (in Program Files>Adobe), reboot, and install. You will likely have to give the S/N for Std as the qualifying product for XI Pro.

  • Problem with Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard.

I have been creating .pdf files by selecting the print command and then selecting Adobe PDF as the printer. Once this request was OK'ed, a pop-up window would open and request that I save the file. I would then name the file and select a file folder to save it to. The application would then save the file with the .pdf file extension and open the file on my desk top as a pdf file for my review.
Currently (and following an upgrade in Adobe Reader), when I go through this process and I name and save the file, the file does not open on my desk top, and when I look for the file in the folder that I saved it to, I find the file name in the folder with a .log file extension.  When I open the file, I see
%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: setdistillerparams; ErrorInfo: CalCMYKProfile U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
Error accessing color profile: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
How do I correct this?  I can re-install Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard, but I'm not sure this will resolve the problem?
    THANKS!
    Gerry

This is an error produced by Distiller in the creation process. You have a problem with the color profile in your job settings apparently - I can't really say much more on why this happened if you have not made changes. It is possible that the Reader installation caused a problem, but I would be surprised since Reader has nothing to do with PDF creation (however, it is not recommended to install both Reader and Acrobat due to various interactions). At this point, all I can recommend is to do a repair to Acrobat. You should be able to do this from the control panel>program and features (VISTA) or add/remove programs (XP).

  • Solution to the problem printing from Acrobat 9.4.2

Since there are nearly 200 posts in the original thread, It might be best (for those looking for a quick solution) to do this in a new thread.
The problem is that you cannot print to a network printer from Acrobat (pro) 9.4.2.  Printing to a local (USB) printer seems okay.
The solution (for us) was found at http://www.hypersensory.com/content/fix-printing-after-installing-adobe-acrobat-942-update
    The approach I tested was:
    [T]he fast and easy way:
1.) go to the installation directory of Acrobat (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat)
2.) Look for the file "Adobe.Acrobat.Dependencies.manifest"
3.) Open it and delete the line <file name="atl.dll" />
4.) Reboot your machine after saving that file
This should fix the issue of being unable to print PDF file after installing 9.4.2 update for Adobe Acrobat.
With thanks to the folks at HyperSensory.com!  It works!

Could someone from Adobe respond to this specific issue so that we know we are being heard?  Will the fix for the print issue also resolve the 'attach to email' problem?  Is there any work around other than telling users to attach directly from their email programs?
Thanks in advance for your response to our concerns.

  • Problems with Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard on Windows 7

used to have this on my Window XP; now Windows 7 computer and tried to download Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. It not only does not work, I cannot use the Adobe Acrobate Reader which was already on the computer. Any help would be appreciated.

My guess is that you have a 64-bit machine (you did not mention). In that case, you need to do the updates for proper operation. If you can open Acrobat, the updates can be done from the Help menu. If you can not, then you will need to download them from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows. Download the newest first and check which prior update is needed and work back to your current version (maybe 9.0.0). Then do the updates and reboot after the last update.
With a reinstall it is a good idea to delete the Acrobat folder prior to reinstalling. In addition, disable anti-virus of the update installation.

  • Activate Acrobat X Pro Update from Acrobat 8 Standard Update

When I try to install the Acrobat 10 Pro Update software that I purchased directly from Adobe, a window opens that demands entry of the Adobe 8 code but does not list Acrobat 8 Standard as one of the possible choices.
When I purchased the upgrade the Adobe web site said" consider an upgrade to Acrobat X Pro if you have Acrobat 9, 8, or 7 Standard."
I not only considered the upgrade, I purchased it for USD 199. How do I install?
This is very unpleasant because in order to try and install Acrobat 10 Pro, I am asked to uninstall Acrobat 8. Then when I get to the final installation step, I am not allowed to continue and am left with nothing!!!  Since Adobe 8 was an upgrade to Acrobat 6, the reinstallation process is lengthy.

Redwood X I would recommend contacting our support team.  They can easily verify your serial number is valid.  For the best assistance, I recommend our chat support at http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6.  Our chat representatives can provide a personalized experience to resolve the issue you have described.

  • Can't install upgrade from Acrobat XI Standard to Acrobat XI Pro

I have Acrobat XI Standard installed on a new Dell Windows 7 PC. I just purchased an upgrade to Acobat XI Pro. I paid $199 and successfully downloaded the installation file from www.adobe.com.
When I try to install the package, the installation proceeds through a few standard screens (e.g., the Welcome screen), and then I receive a setup error:
"Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate."
Clearly, Acrobat XI Standard is not a more functional product than Acrobat XI Pro. How do I get around this error so that I can install the upgrade?

    Hey habilock,
The reason why you are getting this error is that you are attempting to install Acrobat XI pro over XI standard, but you cannot install the same version of Pro over Standard.
If they are different versions (like Acrobat Pro XI over Acrobat X), then it would work.
You can also check the following link that clearly specifies that there is no such upgrade option of Acrobat XI over Standard:
Buying guide | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro
For more details on the same, you can refer another forum link discussing the same issue:
setup has detected you already have a more functional product installed....
    Hope that helps.

  • Create from acrobat x standard fails worked with 9 pro.

So we have an older app (delphi 6) that worked fine to create pdf with acrobat 9 pro. the user updated to windows 7 machine and got acrobat X standard and so now it fails to pop up the dialog to name the file. As tho it gets hung. So the helpless little app gets blamed for this when it has in fact made no changes.  The user asks "do I need to upgrade to acrobat X pro" for this to work again? I read in another post that a title may be required  now? Any ideas? I hate to tell them to get the pro if a) they don't need it and b) it might not fix the issue. I don't have a X pro to test it with.

He can't have the PDF printer for both Acrobat XI and Acrobat 9 installed. You say he tried it from Word, but that wasn't the question. Are you SURE, ABSOLUTELY SURE he printed to the Adobe PDF printer, because Word ALSO has a "create PDF" button from Acrobat, which many people use instead. The ability of instructions to be misunderstood should never be underestimated.
The reason for this test is simple - maybe he has the option to prompt turned off. Perhaps he could try from Notepad, where there is no alternative to doing the test.
Do I understand correctly that there is absolutely nothing in your code specific to Acrobat? It's just that the user chooses this printer, from the list he finds, and the print code is handled in the normal way.
