Problem uploading music to

Hey,
I have a Creative Zen 6 GB. Recently, I had to reinstall the drivers, but for some reason, I can't upload files to the Zen anymore. The media organizer still recognizes the Zen, and I can even see what files are on it. Does anyone have an idea why this is the case? I happened to have updated the firmware recently to .2.0 - could that have been the problem?
Can anyone help? Thanks a lot.

Back up your data if possible then
use the "MP3 recovery tool" to reload your firmware then
force your Zen into the "recovery mode" and clean-up/reboot.
See if you can do this.

I am having a problem uploading music from my library to my ipod which has never been an issue before. I import a CD to my library and when I try to drag the music to my ipod I get a message that says:
"The songs were not copied to the Ipod because they cannot be placed on this Ipod."
Any ideas what is wrong? Thanks.

The CD is uploading to my Itunes library with no problem; it is when I try to drag the songs onto the Ipod that I am getting this message.

  • Problem uploading music from iPod to iTunes...please help!!

    Dear All,
I originally had all my music on iTunes on a laptop and I quite happily ripped new CDs onto my laptop and updated my iPod from time to time. Then the lap top disappeared and I got a new desk top PC. I thought it would be a simple job to transfer all my music (now only stored on my iPod) to the new desktop. However, the version of iTunes on my new computer says it recognises the iPod when I plug in it in the USB drive, but that I should load the original software CD or get software updates from the Apple site -none of which I can find!
If anyone could shed any light on this situation I would be eternally grateful as I would like to get my library back in iTunes on my desktop and put new music on my iPod. All suggestions gratefully reveived!
    Becka.

The easiest way to get your tracks from your iPod to your new computer (since the old one is no longer available) will be to search VersionTracker for "iPod". You'll find a number of utilities that can transfer your tracks and your playlists from your iPod back to your PC.
It's also possible to do this manually, but the procedure is rather involved. If you're interested, though, see this thread:

Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Discussions page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic before you post a question.

  • Problems uploading music on a CD from superdrive. Skipping.

I am trying to upload books on tape on a CD to my new iMac with external superdrive. The recordings do not skip on other devices but they skip when I add them to iTunes. I am having this issue with different artists and recordings.
    Defective drive?

Anybody have an answer for this. I have a new Mac Pro as well and I can't play any disc I burn using Audio CD in my car. My previous computer (g5) did just fine as does my laptop.

  • Upload music er

    Hi.
I've just today bought the Creative Zen Vision M mp3 player. I'm having a problem uploading music. When trying to send an album onto the player through Media Explorer everything will send apart from the st track, which will start with 0. then the song title. The error it gives me is "An unknown error has occured (0xC00D277F). The operation was not completed." Then I press ok and it uploads the rest of the songs from the album without problem.
I've tried uploading different albums but get the same error.
    How can I fix this?

    Thats what i've been doing!
I tried using the Add Media option instead and that uploads the first tracks, but it's splitting one album into two, with 9 in one directory and 2 in the other on the player when all the tags are exactly the same other than the track names. And also when going to play an album on my player the tracks are not in order. Surely the songs should be played by file name, i can't go through every album adding track numbers it'd take forever :\Message Edited by marklcfc on 03-3-200602:6 PM

My macbook seems to be going crazy. At certain points (and for hours) I get the oh snap page on chrome, safari doesnt work, macbook wont let me create any files or for example upload music to itunes. I restored my mac so im sure its not a malware problem. The only thing that solves it is switching off and on , but sometimes I have to do that for 6-7 times before its ok or wait for a few hours. Some help please

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

I have been trying to put some of my music and artwork, on youtube. Youtube says you need an encoder to upload music. But the problem is the only encoders available are for windows. Please help, thank you

The formats YouTube supports can be found here:

Since YouTube supports AAC, the file format iTunes uses by default, it's probable you don't need any sort of converter.
If you continue to have problems with uploading to YouTube, I'd suggest you ask for assistance in their forums:

  • Hi, when I upload music into itunes from a cd it sometimes appears in itunes as two different albums and split up the music in 2 or even three albums....how can i merge these albums...this is particularly true when one album may have different composers?

Hi, when I upload music into itunes from a cd it sometimes appears in itunes as two different albums and split up the music in 2 or even three albums....how can i merge these albums...this is particularly true when one album may have different composers?

Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist will fix things.
For compilations that aren't, select all tracks, Get Info, and on the option tab set Part of a Compilation to No. If it already says No tick the box alongside, then click OK.

I'm going to agree with the previous poster. The web gui has always worked for me. Anyhow you should upgrade to the latest CCA version since this is a bug related to CCA bug which I reported in october which makes it impossible to upload prompts using CCA (

  • N 6300 problem: alphabetical music sorting

    Hello.
I have problem with N 6300 music player. (My software version is 5.50)

    3. I upload folder with tracks U2
so now I have 3 folders with music on my SD card...
Now I switch on music player, select Update Library, select All Tracks and result:
First track play from REM folder, second track play from Morcheeba folder, next from U2 folder, etc...
Its STRANGE!!! How to switch of this sorting "feature"?
Before I was using Nokia 6230 and there wasn't this problem with music player.
    Thanx for answers.
    (sorry for my bad english)

it would be perfect if nokia 6300's music player were sorted the track by folders, 'cause i have to create the playlist in nokia PC Suite, sorted by path...BUT, the appears another problem, I've noticed, that if playlist has more than 100 track, and you try to play it, the phone gets stoned then, after what, it Switches OFF, and when you're enterind musci player, it takes abou 2 min's to start, and the playlist is unsorted again!!!
    thanks, hope smn read...

I'm running into a problem when uploading music to my iTunes library from compilation cds.  If I code it as a "compilation CD", which is the default, I lose all the individual artist information on my iPod.  What I mean -- on the iPod -- if you go to "Artists", none of the artists whose music came from compilation CDs are listed there.  One way around this is to uncheck the "compilation CD" box.  However, when you go to the "Albums" list, every single song from that album is listed as if it were it's own album.  Really clutters up the list.  Thought I'd found a work-around -- unchecked "compilation CD", and entered "various" in the "album artist" field.  But this takes me back to the situation I had when "compilation CD" was checked.  Album cuts are consolidated, but individual artist info is lost.  As near as I can figure, when you click on "Artists" on the iPod, you get a list sorted by the Album Artist not by Artist.  Is there any way to customize this sorting rule?

Thanks planb77.  Looked at that article, and tried the technique.  I wasn't able to re-create that exact screen.  I was able to organize "album by artist", but column headings to the right of this column did not change.  IOW, I didn't have a second column labeled "album by artist".  And there didn't seem to be one to add, looking at the drop-down list of possible columns.  This is interesting and I will have to play with it a bit.  However, it doesn't help me with my problem -- how artists display on my iPod.  Still, I appreciate the suggestion.
