Problem using Adobe Reader 8.0 on nw04

Hello,
recently Adobe has released Reader version 8.0. It seems this is not supported by the Adobe Control provided by SAP. Is there an (ACF) update available for this?
I have tested with nw04 - SP15 and SP18. Not (yet) with nw04s. I only got this error after i manually removed the adobe control plugin.
For your reference the error message from the Adobe Control:
<i>An unexpected situation has occured while downloading neccessary SAP components to your PC.
Please have a look on the information given below.
If this information is not sufficient to solve the problem please click on the 'Show developer traces' Button.
This will show more detailed information which will be useful for the SAP Customer Service.
Error description
Neither Adobe Acrobat 6.0/7.0 nor Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0/7.0 seems to be installed correctly.
The SAP Adobe integration needs at least one of this products to run successfully</i>
Thanks for your input,
Marijn.

Hi Markus,
thanks for your message.  I'm sure you are already aware of the following: adobe advises users to upgrade to Reader 8.0 (or update AcroPDF.dll)
See <a href="http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb06-20.html">Security Bulletin</a>

  • Problems using Adobe Reader 10 in browsers

Ok, I'm running Mac OSX Lion 10.7.2.
I read the announcement regarding Adobe not working in Safari's browser. But I'm having
this problem with every browser that I have tried.
I'm trying to use my bank's website, and in order to go further I need to read a page and accept it.
There is no way to download the PDF from them. It merely shows me a button that says I need to
download Adobe Reader, which I have. (I have adobe reader 10)
When I downloaded Adobe, I restarted my computer.
When I opened my browser, it still displayed that I needed to
download Adobe reader in order to continue. I have tried using it on
    Firefox and Chrome.
Outside of the browser issue, Adobe works fine.

Section 3 doesn't talk about distribution. It mentions that you can't integrate it in to other software unless you have applied for and received the Adobe Reader Integration Key.
To do that, you can go to the following link: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/reader/ikla.html
And don't worry about your English. Even if it was your first language, it's pretty tough to understand. Go to the link above and you'll find a ton of information in regular English rather than a bunch of legal speak. If in doubt, you'll be able to find contact information there as well.

  • Using Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash player with Yosemite

Has anyone had a problem using Adobe Reader or Adobe Flash Player with Yosemite 10.10.1

  • Using Adobe Reader for PDF Files

I am having a heck of a problem using Adobe Reader to open PDF files.
Work very well until last week when I downloaded the upgrade for the program. I had been using Adobe5 (6), upgraded to Adobe Reader 9. Now, I can not open a pdf file that is sent to me. Nor, can I save a file into the PDF format.
I have done the pass word, permission thing, have removed the Adobe 9 from the hard drive and than reloaded it.
    Still have the same problems.
Does anyone have any suggestions that they would be willing to provide that might get me back into business?

Well up front I would like to thank all of you that responded, and tell you that I am sorry that I have not posted back. But, I have been trying to incorporate and to ensure that I have been following the suggestions that you have provided.
Let me provide a bit more of information:
I am trying to safe a chart from the Reunion Family program, which I have been using for a few years.
I did save one Descendant chart and was able to send it to a group of the family as a PDF file. This was using adobe 5. After I sent that chart, I upgraded the adobe 5 software to adobe reader 9. Since the upgrade I have not been able to save a chart in the Graphic File.pdf. The file saves but when I open the file it is a one page blank document. However, I can go into preferences and by changing the view size, it will show the entire document (sometimes). I tried to save that document and send it, but the people who receive it stated that it comes as a blank page. I also, saved the file as a JPEG and sent it, but the people stated that it comes as a very narrow column, unreadable, and can not be open.
I have went back and removed the installed upgrade and started from scratch, I am using the correct software package, and after uploading it, I do run the permissions program.
So, once again I am trying to obtain some knowledge on how to safe the descendant file as a PDF file and send it by e mail.
It is driving me crazy-and once again proves that the machine is much smarter than I.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Problem with Adobe Reader 8.1.2 after applying NW04s SPS15

    Hi Experts,
After installing NW04s SPS15 (from SPS14) we have problems viewing certain PDF documents ie. when trying to load the ESS 'Code of conduct' PDF document. Adobe Reader 8.1.2 will consume CPU and memory on the front-end PC, and sometimes it will eventually load - after 15 minutes or just makes the PC unusable.
This does not happen on NW04s with SPS14 and it does not happen when using Adobe Reader 7.1.0 - which means we have ADS working correctly
We have tested this on numerous computers, including loading the PDF successfully using Adobe Reader 7.1.0, then updating Adobe Reader to 8.1.2 to find that it no longer loads the PDF.
We raised a message for the ACF installation file as per note 766191 and installed it without any success.
Has anyone else experienced this after applying SPS15? Or can suggest some things we can try?
    Thanks.
    Kind Regards,
    Darvern

    Hi,
We are also struggling with the same problem after upgrading the portal to NW04s SPS15.  It is consuming 2 to 3 min for opening the PDF form in ESS under Travel & Expenses.
We are also with same version of Adobe i.e.8.1.2
    Still waiting for the solution,
    Regards,
    Venu

  • Issue with web links in PDF document using adobe reader 10.1.1

    Hi,
We are creating the PDF documents that contains website links. The problem that is occurring is whenever we click on the website links in the pdf file, it opens up IE browser but just show connecting message without actually showing the link and its content. This is ocuurring when we open the PDF using adobe reader 10.1.1 . However it seems to be working fine with Adobe reader 9 . Moreover the length of the URL is bit large and seems like links work fine when we have 253 characters in the URL and if they are more than that then it is not working.Since it is working fine in Adobe reader 9 is there any constraint imposed on the length of URL with adobe reader 10.1.1 . Anything regarding this will be of great help.

    Hi..
    Try removing a plugin...
    Quit Safari.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin (or just PDF Browser plugin) from the Internet Plug-Ins folder to the Trash.
    Relaunch Safari to test.

  • Recently no matter what I do, Firefox will not allow me to use Adobe Reader instead of it's own

I used to be able to display pdf documents using Adobe Reader instead of Firefox's built in. I have tried everything that you suggest and that Adobe suggest. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader (11.0.09). I have gone to the options in Mozilla but when I try to change the Portable Document settings, I don't get the option for "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)". I do get the for Adobe Forms, but not for PDF documents. If I change it to use Adobe Reader, it downloads and then opens reader which is not I want. I want to use the plugin which is installed (I go to Add-ons and it is installed and "always activate").
Help? This only started happening in the last month or so. I am running latest released Firefox (33.0.2), Windows 7 (up to date with all updates, etc.).

That doesn't solve the problem. I have all those defaults. But in Firefox, it won't let me select for "Portable Document Format" to "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)" which it used to let me and which is what the Mozilla Firefox help stuff says to do. I can select Adobe Reader but then it downloads it and opens it in a separate reader window rather than using the plugin. If I select to let Firefox "Preview in Firefox", then the Firefox built-in PDF reader will display it. I have added an add-on "pdfViewerSwitcher" which then lets me display in the Adobe Reader plug-in but only after first displaying it in the Firefox preview. So that verifies that the Adobe Reader plug-in works. But I can't set it to always use the Adobe Reader plug-in.
I have some reasons for wanting to use the Adobe Reader plug-in. I use Nuance Power PDF Pro for editing and doing other things with pdfs.
This all used to work and stopped working at some point in the last couple months. And if you search the web, you will find I am not the only one with this complaint.
I don't know whether it is Adobe's fault or Mozilla's fault but at least one of them is broken. And I think it is Firefox since it won't even let me select it but does let me select it for Adobe Forms.

  • Problem with adobe reader for android.

I have set up 25 android tablets for my employees to use adobe reader. They are downloading a blank .pdf forms created with acrobat from a cloud drive (google drive) and then filling out the forms on the tablet. On 24 of the tablets, when the original form is opened from the cloud, adobe reader gives a warning that the file is "read-only" and gives the option to save a copy locally in order to be able to edit the form, or to continue and view the form as read-only. On one tablet, adobe reader skips this warning and ALWAYS opens the form as read-only. I have un-installed and re-installed adobe reader and the cloud drive multiple times. I have done factory resets and completely re-configuresd the tablet multiple times. I have even tried multiple cloud accounts to ensure that it isnt a cloud setting. The problem is isolated to this tablet, regardless of all of these "fixes" I cannot find any setting to eneble/disable this option. Any ideas as to why everything works on every other tablet, but not this one?

The first thing I would try is a different cloud server, e.g. Workspaces at https://acrobat.com/ - just to make sure it's not Google Drive causing the problem.

  • Problem with Adobe Reader X

When I try to open a pdf using Adobe Reader I get the message that Adobe Reader has encountered a problem and needs to close and I am recommended to tell Microsoft about the problem - which I have done many times.
I've tried removing and reinstalling Adobe Reader X several times but the problem continues. I've tried the 'Repair Adobe Reader Installation' but that doesn't work either. I am using a pc and my operating system is Windows XP SP3.
By the way, this all started after I installed Adobe Flash and registered for Adobe membership. I'm getting desperate. Any ideas out there, please?

Try the following and check if you could launch reader or not?
    1. Right click on Reader icon and choose Run As...
    2. Select 'The following user...' radio button
    3. Provide credentials (username and password of your system)
    4. Choose 'Open with protected mode disabled' and click OK.

  • Problem with Adobe Reader and IE

I'm using Vista Home Premium and IE9 with the latest Reader available.  Starting yesterday, I cannot read PDF files on the web.  This is a new problem.  I tried to download newer versions of IE and the Reader, but both tell me I've got the newest versions I can use.
I have no problem with Firefox.  Just IE.  I prefer using IE.  Can someone guide me -- without using technical language.  Many thanks!!

Thanks for your input.  I opened the standalone Adobe Reader X, clicked Edit, Preferences, Security, Advanced Preferences.  Then clicked each of the 3 tabs on top, but nothing looked like "Protected Mode."
Then I went back and clicked Security (Enhanced) and unchecked Enable Enhanced Security.  Tested this change, but I still get the gray screen and messages:  "A problem has caused IE to close."  "A problem with this website has caused IE to close and re-open the tab."  I then went back and re-checked Enable Enhanced Security.
I should mention that I have used this particular website for about 10 years and never had a problem.  But I now have the same problem with any online PDF that I try to open using IE.
Can you think of anything else?  If not, here's my plan of attack.  Please let me know if you think it will work.
    1)  Copy over all my favorite sites from IE to Firefox.  (I've already started doing that.)
    2)  Uninstall IE and re-install it.
    3)  If I still have a problem, uninstall Adobe Reader and re-install it.
Do you think this will do the job if all else fails?
Many, many thanks for the time you have put into this.

  • Problem with adobe reader, commenting

one of our authors is using adobe reader x 11,1, and I send him a pdf (enabled commenting and measuring), but for some reason the commenting-fields does not show on his screen?
should I save the pdf in another way?

What do you mean by "commenting fields" exactly? By “commenting filds” I mean the tools in top of the page – delete, highlight etc. When I send the pdf, I save it as “file - save as -  reader extended pdf – enable commenting and measuring”, otherwise the commenting tools normally don’t appear by the author.
Are they existing comments? no, it is the text in his pdf-book he needs to correct
Is he able to access the commenting tools? no
You can try sending a non-enabled version since Reader 11 can add comments to a non-enabled document. will try that J

  • Scrolling through PDF files is slow using Adobe Reader on MY MACBOOK pro with retina

Scrolling through PDF file using Adobe reader on my MACBOOK pro is very slow and stuters. That is even for small files. MAC preview and Adobe pro do not have this issue. It is only Adobe ready.
    Please advice.

Summarizing the problem specifics and versions for future readers:
There are two separate "slow scrolling" bugs in recent versions of Adobe Reader on Mac OS X. Symptoms: scrolling by mouse or fn + down arrow is very sluggish and laggy. It is not isolated to large or graphically complex documents. This 2 megabyte PDF shows illustrates the problem: http://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/nasa-tnd-6846pt.1.pdf
Problem 1: Adobe plug-in for Safari causes slow scrolling when viewing PDF documents within Safari. Solution: remove Adobe plugins from Mac HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin. I also deleted AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin. This will cause PDF display within Safari to revert to the built-in Apple PDF renderer, which is very fast. These files will be re-installed anytime you install or upgrade Adobe Reader.
Problem 2: Stand-alone Adobe Reader scrolling is slow starting with version 11.0.01. Version 10.1.4 and earlier are not slow. User CF McBlob did not experience this slowdown, but was also running Acrobat 10.1.7, which might have libraries which prevented the problem. I'll do further testing when possible to try and isolate more details.
    Platform specifics: OS X 10.8.4, late 2012 iMac 27", i7 3.4Ghz, 16GB RAM, 3TB Fusion drive, GPU = GTX675MX, 1GB
